Very interesting book. No bullshit, from what I can tell it's just the author's honest (and controversial) perspective.
The model seems much better than most evolutionary perspectives out there (especially the ones coming up in popular culture). It accounts for a lot of nuances that others miss. Obviously, it's terrifying, how could it not be? But worth reading. Arming yourself against the kind of societal patterns the book describes is important, and I broadly agree with them. It feels nice to have someone else articulate the beliefs I would otherwise be thinking in isolation.
The book doesn't account for more abstract conceptions of tackling the world, those that can't be summarised in a clean form. But it doesn't try to. Worth bearing in mind, but I'm not sure I'd describe it as a shortcoming.
