County Trials: Forty Years' Catching and Coaching in the Gipping Valley and Beyond

Rate this book
Mark Brewster caught his first fish in 1974. A long-standing member of Gipping Valley Angling Club, he served on its committee for over 20 years.
A successful club and occasional open match angler, he became heavily involved in coaching and was instrumental in setting up GVAC’s Junior Academy. A fully licensed coach since 2004, Mark works with schools, pupil referral groups and local authorities, whilst also coaching the young Suffolk County squad. Between May 2011 and October 2012 the squad won no fewer than ten national team titles and boasted six individual champions.
A five year labour of love, 'County Trials' is an often humorous and self effacing account of Mark’s fishing life that includes anecdotes from trips up and down the country, Scotland and Ireland. He recounts matches he fished himself, before detailing the history of the young Suffolk County squad and their successes in recent years. Mark gives details of how he's looked to apply and develop coaching philosophies when working with a young match angling squad, whilst paying tribute to those he’s coached with, and those he’s coached.
