Me and trouble go together like Nutella and, well, anything.
Meaning, as a team we offer no real benefit and are ultimately bad for you in the end, yet you just can’t help yourself from indulging.
Yeah, hi there, my name is Stacy and I’m what some might call a miscreant. Though I’d prefer you compare me to the likes of a mischievous fairy. (Because I’m adorable and spritely and how many criminals can you say that about?) I mean no harm, it’s all in good fun. But some people - *coughChadcough* - have a hard time appreciating my good-natured, all-around lovable personality.
But on occasion, my fun becomes a little less… innocent. Like when the stick-up-his-butt police officer, whom I like to refer to as Officer McSexyPants, made an enemy in me. Tossing me in jail over a very obvious joke (because what kind of idiot legitimately tries to whore herself out to an officer in uniform, am I right?) might have sounded like a good idea at the time, but he was wrong. Oh, (cue evil laughter) he was so, so wrong.
To prepare you for this ride-along, I’ve composed a list of things you’ll need before beginning your journey: Extra undies (Because mom always said to wear clean underwear in case you were in an accident, and I foresee a lot of wreckage); A toothbrush (‘Coz I’m a dental hygienist and bad oral care habits bug me); A playlist of songs that get you pumped up for badassery (Mine is full of NSYNC - everyone knows they are the real OGs); And lastly, some pencil and paper (You’ll want to take notes for future use. Eventually it’ll be your turn to exact revenge on someone and I promise to give you good material).
Author, mother, wife, singer/songwriter, aspiring comedian - I wear many hats. Some of them fit, some of them look ridiculous, and all of them are fun. Life's too short to take anything too seriously, so I don't.
Sarcasm is my go-to, especially when it's most inappropriate. Need someone to make an uncomfortable situation even more awkward? I'm the girl for the job.
I'm ridiculously A.D.D. and I own it. I have a serious addiction to ecards and the majority of my Pinterest account is dedicated to them. The key to my heart is glitter and caffeine - my needs are basic.
I'm a bookaholic and I crush hard on my book boyfriends and their authors. Some might call me obsessive, but I disagree. That word really doesn't do justice to how crazy I get when it comes to something I'm passionate about. I'm not afraid to go fangirl on you, so don't test me.
Anything else you want to know, feel free to ask. I'm an open book, and I love to hear from readers
The story picks up right where book 1 ended. In book 1 we saw Stacy being arrested by the sexy cop Chad because of her drunken behaviour. While in police custody she develops a friendship with his partner,Joe and as a result her and Chad come across each other a lot. There's obviously sexual tension going on between them but Chad has issues from his past and well,Stacy is Stacy!! Now I could understand if everyone didn't warm to Stacy. She's loud, opinionated, brash and tells it like it is.But I loved her in book 1 and loved her here even if some of her antics were a bit questionable.
Chad, well I'll be honest I didn't warm to him until near the end. He's obviously got issues and was very closed of. And I was actually routing for Stacy to be with Joe. That changed though towards the second half and he did something so sweet for Stacy and when he finally opened up and told Stacy his past my heart went out to him.
With these two there was a lot of misunderstanding and missed communications and at times I wanted them locked in a room so they could sort their shit out!! But in the end I thought they were a great couple whose personalities complemented each other.
The Author has created some truly great characters in these books and I loved getting more of the delicious Ian and Adalyn here. Have to mention Joe...he's enough to make you want to commit a crime so he could arrest you.Carrie is bit of an egnima, but I'm really looking forward to her and Joe's story.
Stacy is actually a character based on the Authors friend and with a friend like that there would never be a dull moment!!

5 Officer Juicy Jizz & Bat Shit Crazy Stacy Stars!
Wow, Stacy was everything I expected and then some. She is snarky, quick witted, playful, bitchy, just flat out comical! I loved her in Adalyn's story but we got all of her here and I laughed so many times, Jenn you created an excellent heroine!
Officer Chad, he was sexy in his own right. Always brooding never laughing or smiling. He takes his job very seriously so when you bring Stacy into the mix, it doesn't sit well.
"I mean, I like being in cuffs as much as the next girl, but it's not really worth the pain if I'm not getting any pleasure at the same time."
While being locked up, Stacy makes a friend, Joe, Chad's partner.
"Hey stud muffin. What do you say you come help a lady out? I swear I'll make it worth your while."
When Chad comes back on duty and finds his partner never went home but instead kept Stacy company there was a little pang of jealousy for some reason unknown to him. It became difficult not hearing about each other due to their common interest... Joe. Soon they began seeing each other a lot because of him. Chad finally loosens up one night, they play darts together, have some drinks and dance but Stacy goes to the restroom only to come back and find Chad in a "this doesn't look good for you buddy!" situation. She couldn't figure out what went wrong so she grabs a guy and carries on to the dance floor. Needless to say, things didn't go as planned.
Stacy is just so damn comical, I would love to have a friend like her!
I actually walked up to a fireman in uniform and asked him to put out the fire in my pants with his big hose, which of course, he did.
It goes back and forth between the two with Chad constantly pushing her away or giving her the impression she isn't wanted so she's done trying. Living life without hearing about each other comes a little easier with Joe not talking about the other but Chad and Stacy really do start to miss each other and Chad realizes Stacy has brought a good change to his life.
And it's up to you to hear their whole story but I suggest reading Pressing Adalyn first. It's hilarious when they first meet. Stacy is just as damn funny in book #1 and Ian is to die for ;D
*****ARC KINDLY PROVIDED BY AUTHOR***** Thanks Jenn!
This is a love/hate 2nd chance 3rd chance? multi chances romance. I picked this to read because the reviews said it was funny and had a snarky heroine but sadly that didn’t ring true for me after reading it all the way through.
The story is about Stacy a loud mouth, reckless and emotionally weak heroine who lets her vagina lead her down a dark and endless cryfest that cements her as a doormat. Her “hero” is Chad, a guy with emotional hang ups that are supposed to excuse his effed up treatment of the h and somehow make him redeemable after all the crap he pulls.
What I didn’t like: I can deal with a bit of push and pull but this couple literally made it a competition to see who could push the other away the fastest and then who would do something stupid to force them back together only to start the cycle all over again. After a while, this on again off again drama fest got tiresome. I honestly didn’t understand why they were so drawn to each other to begin with and by the end, it still didn’t make a lick of sense.
What I hated: Hate is a strong word but my feelings were pretty freaking herculean here! I hated the heroine and hero in this story and no amount of cheesy jokes, skeevy innuendos or lame bigger than life attitudes are going to change that.
Aside from the fact that both MCs mess around with OP after meeting, after developing feelings for each other and even after sleeping together (which is a huge no no for me!) I can’t connect with people who think Officer Juicy Jizz is funny/witty/sexy. It isn’t!
I hated all the OM/OW scenes and I can’t buy into the fact that Stacy and Joe are just platonic friends when they’ve kissed, seen each other naked and are as comfortable and close as these two are together. Seriously, Stacy has more of an emotional connection to Joe than she does her supposed H. The fact that Joe is supposed to get with Stacy’s other BFF was just too eww for me. I don’t do revolving door sex partners or recycling said sex partners. I get it’s a small world, but this is too small.
I'm positive I'm the odd man out on this one. Maybe it's just me, but this story felt a lot longer to me than it actually was. Every time it looked like Chad and Stacy were finally going to become a couple, either one or the other would get pissed off at a situation or the other person, and walk (make that storm) away. The back and forth got tiring. Stacy and Chad could have nipped a lot of their drama in the bud, if they had just sat down and really talked to each other.
I actually loved Chad in this story. He didn't seem like a dick to me at all, but rather someone protecting himself from chaos, as well as protecting Stacy from his . His back story was very sad, and I truly, truly felt for the guy.
I gotta be honest here, Stacy was definitely not my favorite character in Pressing Adalyn. She was so crass and obnoxiously rude, and her cringe worthy threat to “cunt punch” Adalyn in the first story, just didn't make her very appealing to me. And in this story, the whole terrorizing the traumatized little boy in her dentist office was absolutely too much. Her bitchiness made her boss lose a family of customers, and her boss was actually scared to talk to her about it. I was truly hoping in this story Stacy would be a lot more likable, but for me, she really didn't metamorphose into that redeeming person that I wanted her to be.
Things kind of turned around for me when Stacy got . I loved her trying to get stronger and learn self defense to try to protect herself in the future. And I loved the catalyst here that finally brought the two of them together again-Finally!!!
I totally understood Stacy's passion to help her boyfriend who was being investigated by Internal Affairs in this story, but Stacy and her mouth at the hearing were just over the top. She was so obnoxiously rude and belligerent, I was as stunned as Chad was that she didn't get him fired, and that they both didn't get arrested and carted off to jail.
I will say this, Jenn Hype is one heck of a story teller, and her writing is tight. I loved the supporting characters in this story, and I think low-key Carrie's story will be awesome. I just wish I had warmed up to Stacy's character in this story a bit more.
Usually when you read a book that the main character was introduced in the fist book of series as a sub character falls flat BUT not in Playing Stacy. Stacy is just the same but better and we get to see more of her. Stacy has a mouth on her and at times it gets her into trouble. She knows it and owns it. Her mouth also comes in handy when her friends whom she loves are in trouble. I loved that. She's sassy, quick witted, smart and strong but we do get to see a vulnerable side of her but then she comes out stronger than ever. Now Chad is not so nice at times but we get to see why. He keeps pushing Stacy away in fear of being what his past was like. I don't want to say more in fear of spoiling it. But throughout the book I was laughing out loud. There was a scene my heart was racing. Other times I was fist bumping the air. Many emotions throughout this one. Jenn did it again by writing another great book but also letting me be an arc for my honest review. Thank you and this is another good read. Pick this one up as well to read.
Couldn't finish it, it was so immature it gave me the desire to vomit! Time to delete! These "graphic artists" really go overboard on the fake abs too! Fake expectations!
Absolutely side splitting funny! Stacy is a fire-cracker and the only person who can tame her is Chad. Chad is a loose cannon and the only person who can calm him is Stacy....but when will they figure this out? So. Funny!
Loved this book as much, if not more then book 1! Stacy and chad were so perfect for each other and the journey that had to take was hard, but in the end so worth it!
I knew that I would really like Stacy from her parts in the first of this series (Pressing Adalyn) but I didn't realize just how much. Playing Stacy starts with Stacy in jail because of a cop with a serious lack of humor. Chad (cop) wants to teach Stacy a behavior lesson and instead ends up on the ride of his life.
Jenn Hype's Playing Stacy is at turns humorous and deeply emotional as Stacy and Chad's budding relationship encounters hurdle after hurdle. Most of which the two of them place there themselves. Stacy is a strong confident character that doesn't stand for any man's bullsh*t and Chad is a damaged hero hiding from his feelings and hurting the people around him, though not deliberately. Their story progresses with many twists and turns as both fight their internal battles and each other. Ms. Hype's ability to create characters that you both want to hug and smack upside the head is on full display in this book.. She spins stories where you are sucked in and can't stop turning the pages.
If you like your stories fresh, funny, with a strong plot and stronger characters this is definitely the read for you.
I'm not even sure where to start on this review. I loved the first book in the pretending series and wasn't really sure how I would feel about this one. Stacy was not all that likeable in Pressing Adalyn, but at the same time she was the witty non filtered one that you couldn't help but laugh with. So when I started this book I tried to start fresh, I'm so glad I gave her another chance!!!!
Stacy was…… Stacy, that's the only way to put it. She was off the wall, super fun but at the same time you could see her vulnerable side and your heart ached for her. Some of the stuff that came out of her mouth had me laughing till tears were streaming down my face! She didn't have it easy in this book, things happen and you break with her, but thru it you feel with her and realize she wasn't all that bad, just the fun, sarcastic, unfiltered stacy that you fall in love with.
Chad! He was secretive yet you could feel his shame throughout the whole book. His past is just horrible and have you wanting to hold him and then break something. He needed to loosen up and that's where stacy comes in and needless to say, by the end of the book, he is finally what we all knew he could be. I'm not saying that who he was was bad, he was just so controlled. He was a sexy cop and you really want to do something naughty to get in cuffs, (I don't blame Stacy for that one) but he was also respectable. He try's, you can feel him trying to let go and be what he wants to be, then bam! The shutters go up and he closed off again. It's a whirlwind of emotions thru this whole boo
The plot….. Well I won't go into too many details just because I don't want to ruin it, but Stacy want to help chad be more laid back, but she really wants to be with him. There are tons of misunderstandings and things that happen you will dislike the author for putting the characters thru but in the end we get a HEA and ready to hug the author! One of my favorite parts always about 30% in and it was a part that made you realize that the Hero and Heroine belong together, it made you laugh and at the same time it will break your heart.
Here are a few quotes that I couldn't help but love
““Oh, I was just trying to help you out but I don’t think I can. You’ll probably need a surgeon.” He sneered and lifted one eyebrow. “Well, I was going to try and help you remove that giant stick from your ass, but it’s so far up there that I think it will take the help of someone more qualified.”
Death by vagina. Hysterical. My headstone would read: Twenty-six years should have been enough For Stacy to learn not to mess with her muff She had it coming, so don’t feel distraught Karma’s a bitch. -Sincerely, her twat
Quote that breaks your heart! ““No!” I yelled, interrupting what I knew she was going to say. I wished there was a way to do this without completely lying, but I had to make sure I completely burned this bridge. I wouldn’t have the willpower to stay away from her, so I needed her to hate me. It was cowardly and weak, but I was desperate. “The only thing I feel towards you is physical attraction, but I can get those needs satisfied anywhere and by much more attractive women. Why would I settle for you? The only reason anything has happened between us at all was because you were convenient. Right place, right time. You’re too much work, though, so now I’m telling you to stay away. I don’t want you, so don’t embarrass yourself further by trying to convince me otherwise.”
Overall this is a book to not be missed. It was so hard to write this review without giving too much away, and my thoughts all over the place. I can't even put into words how well this author did while writing this book. Being only her second book I have to say that she has a true knack for writing. She makes you feels for a character that previously you might not have liked. The humor in this book is just….. I can't even describe it. Fans of Deborah Anastasia, and NA Alcorn will love the humor in this book! So if you're wanting to read something super funny, but with real issues then read this book! You won't be sorry! #2OCCJD

I have absolutely without a doubt found one of my newest and most favorite authors with author Jenn Hype!! She writes with such a style and flair that sucks the reader in and doesn't want to let them out...EVER! You will replay chapters from her books in your head over and over again and each time you will laugh like crazy at some of the sarcasm, antics and fun she creates in her world. She makes the characters real, flawed, and so intense that at times you wonder how she has created this alternate world and then you remember that you love being a part of it, so you don't question it at all anymore....
This book picks up where book 1 left off, but at the same time she has crafted it so that you can read it as a stand alone book. She gives just enough back story that you know what is going on, but not too much so that it is like a book 1 re-read. I loved Stacy in book and and I loved her even more in her own book. She is the person that shy people aim to be, the outspoken, brash, tell it like it is, but loyal friend that everyone wants. I love the way the author portrayed her and I want to find my very own real life Stacy!! We briefly meet Chad in book 1 as well, but we really get to know them both in this one.
Stacy is arrested by Chad outside of a club where she is determined to pick up the straight laced cop. Chad is not at all interested or amused (or so he says). It takes a lot to get these two to figure out that they are meant to be...and the author makes it an unpredictable ride for the reader. The author's writing flows smoothlessly and seamlessly throughout the book, barely giving the reader a stopping point for food, the bathroom, work or any of those pesky chores. The reader just doesn't want to take a minute to stop!! It is that good and that much fun!
This book and the characters are sure to leave you with a book hangover that only another book by this author could possible cure! I am so looking forward to book 3, 4, 5 6....so she better get writing!! Make sure you add this author and all of her books to your TBR list!! You won't want to miss these!!

I was hoping, so hoping, that this second in the series was going to be as good as the first. Would it have the same laugh out loud, irreverent humour? Would the girls be as warm and funny and simply be a pleasure to hang out with? Would their male counterparts be sexy and swoon-worthy? Well, I can honestly answer with a resounding “YES” to all of the above!
Addy’s happy go lucky roommate Stacy is up this time as she battles with a new nemesis – hottie police officer Chad. Feeling he had ‘done her wrong’ from their first meeting, she was determined to get her revenge. Dragging her new friend Joe into the mix, who just happens to be Joe’s partner in blue, Stacy begins a no-holds-barred campaign. Too bad she is hampered by her growing attraction, and like, for the man. Chad, on the other hand, can’t figure out why he is equally drawn to her. She is brash, and forward and… beautiful, sexy and amusing. Even when he is the butt of her jokes. Oh, the games were going to be fun!
I loved this follow up story. It had all the laughs, the feels and the hotness I was hoping for. Stacy is simply off the wall in her vendetta but she does it in such a way that you can’t help but laugh and egg her on. Chad’s stony façade is just that and seeing him thaw in the face of Stacy’s escalating antics. Not everything is fun and games though and the emotional roller coaster ends in a finale that had me laughing and cheering at the same time. I simply love these characters and their stories just fast track right into my heart. I hope there will be many more!
So many laughs but this one, this one was groovy: “Because my vagina, she didn’t think things through.”
And made me misty… “I don’t want you to change. I don’t want you to be serious and cautious like me. I want you to breathe your life into me.”
So, this is the second book of a three part series. We met Stacy in book one and this book covers some of the same timeline but then further on than the first. It can be read as a stand alone - there isn't actually any need to have read the first book and I like that about it but at the same time, the first one did give a little insight into why she is the way she is and some of the back-story between her and Adalyn.
Stacy is completely bat-s**t-crazy...but in a hillarious way!
The story initially covers the new friendship between Stacy and Joe. Their friendship is often affected and strained by Stacy's obsession with Joe's partner, Chad. Chad is the main love interest in Stacy's life despite her vows to the contrary but Chad can't stand her...or so he says. In many ways, their obsessions with their dislike of each other makes the ending somewhat obvious but what happens along the way; well, that takes some serious imagination!
Jenn Hype has an amazing imagination - her writing is inventive and fresh. A little far fetched sometimes, maybe...but what else do you read fiction for, if not to escape reality?!
Despite the weird, random and quite frankly crazy stuff they all go though, the characters are really quite believable. There are the four I've mentioned so far but also Ian - Adalyn's partner and Carrie, Ian's sister who also feature very heavily in the story but I'll leave you to read it in order to find out more about them.
If you like gobby, sassy and clever lead women who use a fair bit of profanity, jump right in. If not, "move along - there's nothing to see here" as they say!

Stacy is one of those secondary characters that takes on a life of her own. She is confident, brash, and so mouthy you can't decide if you want to be her best friend or wash her mouth out with soap.
Chad is quite reserved at the beginning of the book and I wasn't sure what to make of him. He's dedicated to his job, reliable, and has a bit of a temper that pops up when he's around Stacy. They start off on the wrong foot, and continue to have this hate/maybe-like each other relationship going on that is compounded by multiple misunderstandings. When Chad comes to Stacy's rescue he comes to realize how much Stacy means to him-although I will say it took Chad a long time to figure out how he felt!
Hype's characters have a very energetic voice that pulls you in from the first page. She has created an interesting circle of friends, produced very sassy and witty dialogue, deals with some tough topics with extremely well balanced levity, and has created wonderful characters I can't wait to read more of. This is book two in the Pretending series. Although the book can be read as a stand alone, I recommend reading Pressing Adalyn first so you are well prepared for Stacy and her crazy personality:)
I received this ARC from the publisher, which in no way impacts the content of my review.

I received an ARC for an honest review. Review by The Club.
I was so excited to have the chance to read Stacy's story. I knew the introduction of the hot cop in book one would be an interesting read. Stacy's outgoing give no fu*@s attitude is probably the best part of the whole story. Her witty comebacks and trash talk is something to be admired. She doesn't think when she speaks and what comes out of her mouth is hilarious.we all have at least one friend similar to Stacy that somehow always know how to brighten up our day. Chad (the arresting cop) is dark and brooding. Being a cop he sees a lot of crap but that's not where the problem stems. He has a dark secret of his past that his him keeping everyone at a distance. His fear of snapping and hurting someone is tested when Stacy comes storming into his life. Their romance was a roller coaster of wtf's and are you kidding me? Seriously I wanted to smack them and hold them at once. Both were too stupid emotionally to realize the hurt they were inflicting in themselves and each other. They tore at each other with their words and actions that I feared they would never actually get to start an actual relationship. I cried and I laughed throughout the entire story.
I loved this book! Stacy made me laugh so, so many times that I lost track. She is so feisty and such a great character that it was hard to read and not just love her. She has a “take no prisoners” and “don’t give a damn” attitude and it was so refreshing to see a female lead that really didn’t need a male to swoop in and save her.
Chad was amazing, too. He was so standoffish and aloof that I didn’t think I would really enjoy getting to know him, but once he opened up, the story really took off.
I did get frustrated with their on again/off again status and wanted to strangle both of them at several points in the story...but it was so well written that I just couldn’t give up and it didn’t matter that I was unhappy with them, I had to keep reading!
The story was well planned and played out in a great sequence and left me feeling good about choosing to read it. Though there were a few flashbacks to Pressing Adalyn, I felt the story was still fresh and kept me entertained. I can’t wait to read Joe & Carrie’s story. This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
Where can we all find a friend like Stacy? Seriously? This girl is crazy wild, fiercely loyal, loving even if she doesn't know and the best kind of fun you can ever imagine having, but not having the balls enough to follow through on.
And when that sort of woman meets Chad - the too uptight, too highly strung, no-nonsense cop fireworks implode.
Starting their somewhat strange relationship with Stacy being tossed in the back of the squad car and spending the night in the drunk tank, Stacy can't get him out of her head and the more she tries the more frustrated she becomes causing her to act even more crazy than her normal brand.
The more Chad sees Stacy the harder it is to control, well everything. He doesn't remember the last time he felt a genuine emotion - it wasn't something he was ever going to allow after his childhood.
A book filled with colourful characters and more shenanigans than you can imagine it will have you smiling and giggling the whole way through!
Ever wonder what happened to Adalyn's best friend the night Officer Chad took her to the station to teach her a lesson? Hype did. Playing Stacy finds who?...Oh yeah, Stacy right where we all wanted to be a fly on the wall......the poke....the slammer....lockup....behind bars....okay...you get the idea. Things might not be quite as simple as Officer Chad led Adalyn and Ian to believe; of course, things might never be simple between Chad and Stacy. Enter Chad's partner, Officer Joe, who doesn't help simplify things in the least. Hype brings her own special brand of wit and sarcasm to the party and then she amps it up several notches. This trip to Hype World was a doozy. I don't know what put me on the floor more....the laughter or the lust. In the end, it doesn't matter. Every trip I've had to Hype World was well worth the price of admission. My Recommendation: do yourself a favor and one-click this baby ASAP....you can thank me later :)
My cup runneth over with one liners! Seriously! God bless Jenn Hype for writing this book and her friend Stacy (who she speaks so highly of in the acknowledgements) for inspiring such a bad ass chick. She literally goes through hell and back emotionally and physically yet it seems to only keep her down for the briefest of moments before she's back ruling the world again. Chad is sexy and loyal and sexy and all man, in a uniform to boot! The chemistry between Stacy and Chad is palpable. I am literally running on 3 hours of sleep right now because I couldn't go to sleep until they worked their sh!t out! I heart them both. When I finish a book and am genuinely disappointed that these characters don't exist in my real life somehow, I know it was a great book. Jenn Hype's Pretending Series will stick with me indefinitely. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go see what Carrie's deal is :)
Welcome Stacy!! The funniest book I think I have read in a long long time. Once I started this book I was in a tizz because I really really wanted to read it as fast as I could as I was hooked but at the same time I wanted to savour it so it didn't end too quickly!
Stacy literally had me crying with laughter and sadness (mainly laughter though) I already loved her in pressing Adalyn but her relationships with both Joe (platonic) and Chad (not so platonic) had me falling in love with her harder lol.
Again her smart mouth has me jealous that she has the balls to do and say what she wants.
I serioulsy fell hard for this series and will recommend it to everyone that will listen, so go for it peeps it's amazing. X
We meet Stacy in Pressing Adalyn and her story picks up right around the beginning of Pressing Adalyn so everything that is happening is the same time frame. Stacy is a spitfire, she isn't a pushover and stands up for what she believes in. She is hilarious! Chad is the police we get a glimpse of in Pressing Adalyn. He is a loner and doesn't open himself up easily. Again we get to see both characters grow into themselves and being able to love someone deeper than friends. This can be read as a standalone just little details might not make sense but it would still be enjoyable.
Stacy is my favorite character in the Jenn Hype books!!! I absolutely love how care free and no nonsense Stacy is. She doesn’t care what anyone thinks and she is used to being the center of attention. Stacy was my favorite character in Pressing Adalyn; so I loved that she had her own book. I loved the interaction between Chad and Stacy. It wasn’t the usual instant love affair. I loved how Stacy started scheming because she was mad that Chad wasn’t instantly infatuated with her like other men were. I really liked seeing a different side of Stacy compared to how she was in Pressing Adalyn.
Great 2nd book in the Pretending Series by Jenn Hype. Just as much humor as in book 1. Stacey is a bit CRAZY but in a very likeable way. Chad is a bit of a hard ass, although he does have his reasons and warms up as the book goes. I also liked getting to know Joe more, especially since it seems the 3rd book will be about him and Carrie.
I only have one small issue and that is when Stacy was getting ready to go to Peteys at the end of chapter nine, she had talked Adalyn into going with her. But in chapter 10 at the bar, Carrie was the one who was with her.

It was a good book and I liked the plot, but the first one was better. I don't like it if the couple is always playing games and not once talking to each other about their feelings and thoughts. This would have made it so much easier...
