When we were kids she set up a kissing booth in our schoolyard. Even then, I wanted to buy a kiss from her, but she ran away in tears.
Twelve years later, I come home to find her in my bed... fast asleep.
It's just like Goldilocks, but with waves of long, dark-chocolate hair.
Hell, I don't even want to blink in case she disappears.
I didn't pay too much attention to my fairy tales. Did any of those bears get to the kiss the girl?
Whatever, I'm not buying kisses these days. I'm all grown up now. There's hot blood pumping through my veins, and I take what I want when I want it.
Hmm, come to think of it, I'm not in the market for kisses, but I could do with a fake fiancée.
This time there'll be no running away, Sweet Dani Sabre... I'm claiming you for my own.
Dani
I know I shouldn't have taken that nap. I wake up to find a devastatingly handsome man watching me.
Dark hair, ripped body and piercing blue eyes that smolder right through my soul.
I thought he was going to get me fired from my cleaning agency, but instead he shocks me and asks me to be his fake fiancée in exchange for an insane amount of money.
This book! I don’t even know where to start; if I’m honest my expectations weren’t high when I picked it up but I have to say, I am impressed. I read this book it because I love a good fake fiance story and falling asleep on a clients bed sounds embarrassing enough I NEEDED to know how the story played out.
One thing I have to say is that the book’s cover and summary didn’t do the story justice. I nearly didn’t even read the book because the thought of kissing booths make me uncomfortable. They’re not cute, sweet or romantic especially when a child is involved. Much to my surprise River Laurent handled it very well. I wasn’t expecting this book to leave me emotional but the part about the kissing booth did. My heart broke for the poor girl. Overall, the book made me happy; it had one of those happily ever after endings I adore.
Although the book was short, it did a fantastic job of making me feel for the characters. My one and only complaint is that the characters could have been developed more. Although I wanted them to end up together, I wasn’t as invested in either of them as I wanted to be. What happened over the last 12 years? How did Dani go from running away from a kissing booth to taking night classes and cleaning houses? How did Brock cope with inheriting his company? Where did his OCD tendencies come from? I appreciated the way every word in the story was necessary – I’m not a fan of a lot of fluff but I wish the characters could have been just a little more developed.
Overall Kissing Booth was a good, quick read and a refreshing twist on the over done fake fiancee story line.
When Dani was a little girl she set up a kissing booth to make some money to put food on the table for her family. A boy she liked didn't like how the others were treating her and gave her all the money he had and sent her home. The next day she was taken from her family and put into foster care. Years later Dani is working at a cleaning service as she goes to school. Dani is ask to take care of a client that she normally doesn't clean for and the money is good so she agrees. When she is almost done she decides to take a small break but ends up asleep on the client's bed. The client is Brock and he is surprised by how clean his place looks so he knows its not his regular cleaning girl that worked that day. He is stunned when he finds the new cleaning person asleep on his bed that is until she rolls over and he recognizes the girl from when he was a kid. She was the one selling kisses and he knows that he can't let her disappear on him again. Brock makes up a reason that he needs Dani's help for and offers her more money than she'll ever make cleaning to help him. What Dani doesn't know is that the boy she always wanted to kiss her is the man standing before her now. What will Dani do when she finds out who Brock really is? Can they make a life together with their differences in life styles?
I loved this book. I felt so bad for the little girl especially when she was taken from her home for trying to help her family. The chemistry between Brock and Dani is hot enough to melt your kindle. I couldn't stop reading to see what was going to happen between them and laughed out loud at parts of this story. I recommend this book to anyone that loves a really amazing love story. A five star read!
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. I also bought my own copy because I loved its so much.
Since reading River Laurent’s Cinderella.com, I’ve been meaning to dive into more of the author’s work. With how much I enjoyed Cinderella.com, I had high hopes for my next River Laurent read. Although it took a while, I finally worked my way around to Kissing Booth.
Kissing Booth was an adorable read. It was quick and easy to get through, making it perfect for those looking for a quick and enjoyable read. Although I gave this a three-star rating, it’s more of a three-point-five-star rating. I certainly enjoyed it, yet I had been hoping for a little bit more.
You see, whilst this had all kinds of cuteness, I feel as though it didn’t quite have the depth I would have liked it to have. I feel as though we only touched the surface of the fun we could have had with this story. I certainly fell in love with it – I liked the characters, I enjoyed their drama, and the cute little twist at the end was great – but I constantly felt like there could have been a bit more. Therefore, I really enjoyed it, but it wasn’t quite enough for me to fall completely in love with it.
I will, however, be reading more River Laurent in the future. This wasn’t quite as enjoyable as Cinderella.com, but it was close. The fact I’ve really enjoyed one River Laurent book and found this one to be adorable leaves me with the belief I’ll enjoy other River Laurent books. After all, many have grabbed my attention.
I was not expecting that ending!!!!! Mind. Blown. I love guys like Brock, business in the boardroom, romance in public, alpha male dominance in the bedroom! I really wanted to see more of his dominant side, but that’s my preference. Definitely an easy, sexy read after a few emotional books, but it also had an undercurrent of real life situations at the same time. First time read from this author, and it won’t be my last.
This is an amazing romance! Brock sets out to win Dani's heart by arranging for her to be his "fake" fiancee, and that's when the fun begins! This author is a master at developing complex, multi-layered characters with explosive chemistry, and this is one of her best books yet. The story grabs you by the collar right from the start and makes you care about the characters so quickly you won't be able to put the book down until you're as satisfied with their HEA as they are! There's a bit of drama with the ex, an abundance of the author's patented humor, a surprise or two, and enough smexy times to make your kindle blush. This is a perfect rom-com, lots of lighthearted fun layered over a deeply emotional love story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I loved this, it was exciting, and had me from page one, Dani is a student, cleaning to help pay her bills, Brock is a client, and one day he comes home to Dani, asleep in his bed, she was that exhausted from being up all night and then cleaned for 7 hours. Brock was going to tell her off when he realised it was Dani, a girl he'd fallen for 12 yrs earlier. When she wakes she's horrified that she'd fallen asleep, Brock asks her if she would be his fake fiancé for the weekend at his ex's wedding, pretending he was still in love with his ex, when in fact he isn't and it's Dani he wants. He never reckoned on a spiteful, jealous ex though. Does Brock come clean, do he and Dani have a happy ever after. Read the book, it's fabulous
I received a copy and voluntarily leave my own thoughts

"You’re a beautiful girl in a beautiful dress, in an exclusive restaurant with a man who’s staring at you like you’re the only woman in the world, because as far as I’m concerned, you are.”
A billionaire fake fiance book with a wonderful twist! I loved this book . It was everything I was looking for in a read today and I am glad I found it. Such a heartfelt book that brings those feels to you. I really connected to the characters and loved them so much!!! I want more of them!!
I was so excited to one click this read... The teasers had me at first read. I absolutely loved the two main characters of this book they were developed well and had a great back story. I’m sure this will be one story I continue to read over and over.
It was such an amazing story. I loved how Brock was the boy that she felt bad she didn’t get to kiss and say thank you for the money. How he still loved her regardless all those years. I can definitely reread this book.
What a great book. River Laurent has become a favorite author of me after reading some of the last books written by this author. Kissing Booth is a good story about Dani who as a young girl didn't have much money. Her father was a drunk and her mother didn't provide for them much either. She set up a kissing booth outside of her school in order to collect money for some macaroni & cheese or to buy something else for dinner that night. She notice a boy leaning against a wall and couldn't get her mind off of wanting to kiss this boy when a overweight boy came to her booth to kiss her. She ended up in tears, but not because the boy was overweight. She realized what she was doing was wrong and when this boy handed her all of his money and told her to go home, she did just that. Needless to say after years of not seeing each other Dani gets a job cleaning a penthouse that is so huge she ends up falling asleep in the owners bed. Brock is this said owner of the penthouse and comes home early from his business trip to find Dani asleep in his bed and when she rolls over, her recognizes her right away. She is his Dani from all those years ago. What will Brock do to get Dani to stay in his life? Brock is that overweight boy who handed her that money all those years ago. What will happen when she finds out? This is such a well written story, I loved the characters and I couldn't put the book down until I was finished. I would definitely recommend this book.....
University student Dani Saber works part-time as a cleaner and is so tired that she falls asleep in her client's bed. Dani is shocked when she wakes up to the sight of the most drop dead gorgeous man she's ever seen sitting in a chair watching her. Billionaire Brock Garrett comes home 2 days early from a business trip to find the beautiful Dani asleep in his bed. Brock hasn't been able to forget Dani since her ill-fated kissing booth 12 years ago and comes up with an idea. Brock offers to pay Dani $250,000 if she'll be his fake fiancée at his ex Charlotte's wedding in Vegas, but first she has to move in with him so that she can get to know him. Brock is very convincing as Dani's adoring fiancé and she finds it harder and harder not to get her heart involved. What Dani doesn't know is that Brock lied about being heartbroken over Charlotte and that he's crazy about Dani. But Brock's crazy ex isn't finished with Brock and sets it up to look like Brock's sleeping with her and has Dani walk in on them. Is it the end for Dani and Brock?
River Laurent delivers a funny, sweet and steamy story with twists and turns that you won't be abe to put down
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book
I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through an ARC.
What a new fresh look at the Fake Fiancé Story. Brock and Dani were charming.
Dani works for a cleaning service while going to college. Her boss called her at the last minute she only had 3 hours sleep. But she found out it was $1000.00 but the place was 4600 sq ft. Dani jumped at the chance for the money. Dani was so tired that she feel asleep in the master bedroom.
Brock comes home early from a trip and finds Dani in his bed. When he sees who she is he couldn't believe that she dropped from the sky his his bed. Brock knew Dani from when school when to make money for something to eat she opened up a Kissing Booth on the school grounds. Brock watched as she kissed a couple of boys but before he got a chance she ran away crying.
Brock needs a fake Fiancé for the wedding of her ex girlfriend so he takes Dani to go with him to Las Vegas. Brock and Dani get together and later that day her worst nightmare came to fruition. She just couldn't take it another minute she leaves the hotel just wanting to get home. She runs into Brock's friend Mark they go out for a drink and then tells her the truth about Brock. WIll Dani forgive Brock or do they go their separate ways.
This is one of those reads that will make you swoon and sigh about a billionaire, Brock, and the woman he has loved since they were kids, Dani. It’s been 12 years since he’s seen her but hasn’t forgotten her and when he finds her in his bed sleeping he can’t help but think fate has brought them together, now he has to find a way to keep her in his life forever. What better way than to ask her to pretend she’s his fiancée and bring her to his ex’s wedding and hope after it’s all done she wants to stay with him. What a read that made me swoon and sigh not only over Brock but Dani as well. She’s had a hard life but is the kindest, humblest, strongest woman with a sassy mouth you can’t help but admire. I couldn’t help but feel for Dani and everything she has gone through and Brock is the one person who can help her realize her dreams and worth. The build up between the two is combustible and the sparks that fly....fireworks. The ending is what did me in and what she does after talking with Mark and clears up the misunderstanding which is why I bought the book even though I received an advanced copy.
After reading another book from the same author and being so disappointed I was a little worried about this one!! The blurb sounded so good and I didn't want to be let down!!!
I wasn't!
Total contrast to the other book! I loved this one!
Brock and Dani are great characters who interact well together. Chemistry is hot! There's not a huge amount of detail about each background- just what we need to know to get thru which is fine I guess!
Nice little twist at the end. There are a few loose ends that would have been nice to have known about - did Charlotte go ahead with the wedding? what was danis degree in? was the penthouse the same one and had Charlotte been there too and was dani ok with that? Just random ends but nothing major! Oh and was the ting he was planning to give her the one he had from tiffanys? Or a new one?
A light, feel good sizzlin chick lit book that will make you smile, squirm, tug the heartstrings and make you wish you fell asleep curled up on a billionaires bed while cleaning.....!!
Brock and Dani knew each other as kids and fate brought them back together. They go back to grade school when Dani set up a kissing booth to raise money to feed her family. He gave her money to help and then he never saw her again as she was put in foster care. He can't believe his eyes when he finds her asleep at the foot of his bed. She had been hired to clean his penthouse and was so exhausted that she fell asleep. When he sees her he can't believe his luck at finding the girl from the kissing booth. He hires her to be his 'fake fiance' at his ex-girlfriends wedding. Lots of drama, suspense, secrets and chemistry that's over the top. Well written with complex characters and an engaging storyline. I loved this book. I read an advance copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.
This was a quick and easy book. It was good but it was nothing exceptional.
The main characters are Brock and Dani. Brock remembers vividly when he first met Dani on a school yard while she is running a kissing booth to try to get enough money together for her evening meal. Years later Dani is still struggling to make ends meet as a cleaner and attending school, she gets roped in to clean an apartment. She does almost everything and then gets overcome by exhaustion Brock finds her passed out in his bed when he gets back. He constructs a plan that will hopefully keep her by him forever.
There are a few secondary characters but I didn't think they were that noteworthy.
The storyline isn't the most original but it is a quick and easy read. The pacing is great for a book that seems so short.
River Laurent has a way with words that makes you feel the story instead of just reading them. This second chance romance is nothing like any I've read in a really long time. It's heart breaking to learn about her past and how things were for her growing up, but knowing what he's done to gain her attention makes me a bit angry at him as well. Even if I understand somewhat how he feels, he really should have explained things from the beginning. With how the conniving ex is, it would have saved them some heartache, but at the same time, maybe things would have worked out differently. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more. I'm voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
This was a terrific, sweet romance with some subterfuge thrown in for a twist from the usual. Brock and Dani were strong, opinionated but very likeable characters. There was the typical drama from the bitchy ex-girlfriend that played nicely into the overall plot along with of course, lots of steam between the H&h! Overall, this was a fun read from start to finish. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
this was ok but I didn't find it enjoyable. - 2 stars
Super picky billionaire Brock runs into the girl he loved in high school. Not that he ever talked to her then but hey it was true love. In order to get into her life he pays her $250k for less than a week of her time as his fake fiance. With a premise like that I was not expecting a lot. A light trashy read. But it was simply boring and not even trashy fun. I did manage to finish it so that is something I guess.
What a great story about lost love! All of the characters are great and are written into this story well. You absolutely feel what the author wants you to feel..insecurity, jealousy, shame, love, lust, surprise...endless. It’s one of the sweetest stories I’ve read in awhile! I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.
Another amazing story from River Laurent! The plot was awesome and had me hooked from the very beginning. The story-line flowed smoothly throughout. The characters were well-defined and easily relatable. I totally fell in love with Brock. I can't wait to see what River comes up with next!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is a great fake fiancee/billionaire, sort of second chance romance. The storyline is well-written and has a twist or two while the characters are described very well and are engrossing. This is a good read and I liked it. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
Extremely entertaining and captivating read. I want to read more from this author. Wonderfully written with great plot and strong characters. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I love River Laurent..Have read a couple of her book now and tend to enjoy each one..I do not like giving spoilers so I recommend you read. Enjoy!
