When Zoë Caldwell’s record label threatens to drop her unless she pretends to date the embattled, disgraced Liam Trafford, she almost gives up on her dreams. But she had come too far to just fail, so she makes a deal with the Devil. When Liam Trafford’s manager suggests he pretended to date a beautiful girl with an angelic voice to save his career he reluctantly agrees. He doesn’t want to rehabilitate his reputation. He wishes he could go back in time to fix the mistake that ruined both his life and that of an innocent girl. Soon they both realize that the past cannot be fixed but the future is wide open and maybe, just maybe, they can save each other.
Rilzy Adams needs only five things to survive: sushi, coffee, Prosecco, cuddles and words (though not in that order).
She's a lawyer by day - writer by 'whenever she can get the free time' and believes that love makes the world go 'round. It is no small wonder, then, that she can't help but pen tales of people falling in love.
Zoe and Liam would have had the perfect relationship, if not for all of the meddling outsiders. Her musical career and his acting goals both needed image upgrades.
Unfortunately, they were both treated like little kids by the arrogant, dishonest and powerful people "guiding" their careers.
Liam more than made up for the mistake, he caused, that forever altered Sarah's life. Forgiveness at its best. Great story!
My immediate thought after finishing Off Key is... I still have no idea what Liam looks like. Throughout the entire book, his hazel eyes were mentioned several times and not much else about his physical description. To some folks, that may not be a big deal.... but the way my imagination is set up, I need a little assistance in that department.
Zoë was a talented, rising star who, along with Liam, agreed to be fake lovers to help both their careers. Liam was a bad boy actor trying to clean up his reputation after a life-altering incident. It was fake.... until it wasn’t. I liked the storyline, both the characters had an interesting back story and I wished the author had focused more on that and tied it in with their relationship so we could’ve connected with the characters more.
Off Key was just ok, but it had the potential to be great. I’ll definitely continue to read more by this author because she does a great job of crafting a backstory, once the execution is fleshed out, that’ll take her books to the next level.
This is probably my favorite celebrity fake dating romance ever! I don't know why I'm still surprised that one of my all-time favorite authors can make me fall head over heels over a book. This is the type of celebrity-centered book that I love reading about and Rilzy Adams never disappoint.
Liam and Zoë may not have been in the greatest situation at the start of the book, but all of the things that they went through and their romance was really written well. This book made me fall in love with love again and I can't wait to reread it over and over again. I highly recommend!
This was a really good story! I love both Liam and Zoe’s journeys and the path that led them to each other. I really enjoyed that the story highlighted how fans and critics often think they know celebrities and really don’t know them at all. Liam and Zoe were made for each other and deserved the love that they received from each other. Side note: there was some more editing that should be done but it wasn’t so terrible that it detracted from the story.
I love that our leading lady is Grenadian, first of all! I enjoyed this book, not only because of “the enemies to lovers” story and the love scenes but it also deals with familial relationships, following your dreams in spite of naysayers, forgiveness and redemption. I wish Liam had let our girl have her big moment at the end but I thoroughly enjoyed this overall!
This is the second book I read by this author. It was a great. My only complaint is that I wish the author would have described the main male character more. Unlike the female character, it never said how the main male character looked.
This book was perfect. In the beginning of the book the author clearly describes Liam. I enjoyed the love story between Liam and Zoe. When pretending turns into true love.
I was going to rate this book higher, but, I was soo annoyed by Zoë and her dad’s relationship. I’m so tired of society and the media trying to feed us this whole message of having to forgive VERY toxic family members! Zoë should have cut her dad out of her life a long time ago!
Interesting the way they started. Life really is full of good and bad to choose from and how to deal with it all. And everybody needs somebody and love. Good story.
It was a good read with nice characters, but it hasn’t had many highlights for me. I would still recommend it as a good read, but it’s not enough for my personal taste.
