This volume opens with the conclusion of the Kendo Murder Case. Turns out that not only is a knowledge of the rules of competition important, but also the Kansai accent. Go figure.
Next, Ran’s been acting happy but secretive, so Conan and Mr. Mouri decide to tail her. Turns out she’s meeting up with Sonoko and Masumi to plan a trip to Kyoto, where they’re hoping to see Shin’ichi. Conan doesn’t know why Ran expects to see his true form there. Before he can figure this out, the waiter at the cafe they’re at is murdered.
Conan is distracted by what’s going on with Ran, so not acting like his usual nosy child self–surprisingly, the normally unobservant Sonoko picks up on this.
After solving the case, Conan is finally let in on the not-actually-a-secret; it’s time for the high school senior class trip! (Please ignore how many other class trips they’ve been on.) Even Shin’ichi won’t want to miss this one, Ran’s sure. And yes, now that he’s been reminded, Conan/Shin’ichi absolutely wants to go.
But first, the Detective Kids go to a soccer game. Afterwards, Ai’s in a snit because her favorite team lost (for all her usual maturity, she’s still a teen genius at heart) and not interested in supplying the temporary antidote to Conan’s shrinkage for his school trip. She’s cheered up a bit by the time they reach Dr. Agasa’s house, but then she finds the autographed phone charm she got from her favorite player is missing. Ai is distraught, so it’s time to go looking for the item.
Dr. Agasa’s car is down, and next door neighbor Subaru is busy, but Subaru suggests asking Amuro, who’s parked outside. (Amuro thinks Subaru murdered his partner years ago and has been investigating him, but since they’re both undercover, it’s been slow going.)
There’s several twists, but eventually the charm is recovered…but it’s in such poor condition that Ai isn’t really consoled.
Despite this, she does supply some antidote pills so that Shin’ichi can show up for the class trip. At the same hotel the class kids are staying at, there’s some movie world celebrities, but they’re being killed off one by one…by a tengu (winged goblin.) This may be connected to the student film they were all involved with, about a human who became a tengu.
The investigation is complicated by the fact Shin’ichi can only stay in his teen form for a few hours, then must revert to Conan for at least eight hours before he can take the antidote again. Good thing Hattori’s helping him out!
Also assisting is Momiji, a wealthy Kyoto girl who has a crush on Hattori. (She’s actually been behind the scenes in other stories in these volumes, but gets to be in person for this case.) At the end of the volume, Shin’ichi’s figured out who the killer is, but the antidote is wearing off right then!
There’s a special feature recapping Shin’ichi and Ran’s very slow burn romance to date.
The art and writing have their usual consistency in these volumes. #91 and 92 introduce characters that are important to the overall myth arc of the series, and particularly the Rum subplot, which gets a bit of advancement. Thus these are key volumes for the collector. #93 has Soshi Okita as a new recurring character, but he’s not attached to any ongoing plotlines.
By now, you should know if you’re a Detective Conan fan; if so, these volumes are also recommended to you.

Happy 1000th episode anniversary!! :)
Tankubon 94 ini menandai 1000 episode Meitantei Conan, yaitu episode 993 sampai 1003. Walopun sering ngomelin ni seri kapan abisnya, tapi tetep aja, 1003 episode (episode 1021 minggu lalu) tetep ajeg setia diikutin tiap minggu (kalo Aoyama-sensei lagi gak minta libur). 1000 episode saudara-saudari. Dari masih pake pager sampai fasih pake smartphone. Dari tokohnya cuman Mouri Kogoro dan Inspektur Megure sampe sekarang yg karakter2nya seabreg, yg kalo muncul tokoh polisi lain ato teman lama, musti mikiiiiiir suuuweee, ini muncul sebelumnya di kasus yg mana. Ngahaha... padahal di world buildingnya Conan, itu belum sampe setahun berlalu lho yaaaa.... Catet! 😁😁😁
Yak, di sini diawali dengan penyelesaian kasus di pertandingan Kendo lanjutan tankubon 93. Motifnya itu lho, yaampun gara2 kalah, malu, trus suicide. Duh, jepun bingit.
Trus kasus kedua, pembunuhan di restoran yg didatangi Ran, Sonoko dan Sera. Mouri dan Conan yang sedang membuntuti Ran jadi terlibat, meski Conan lebih mikirin misteri perjalanan wisata Ran daripada kasusnya.
Kasus ketiga dialami para detektif cilik yang baru pulang nonton pertandingan sepakbola di stadion. Ai kehilangan strap hapenya, dan Conan yang lagi nyolu biar dikasih obat penawar sementara aptx berusaha sekuat tenaga mendapatkannya kembali. Ganbatte ne Conan-kun. (Oot, itu si Akai sama si Zero itu lutju deh, saling intip n memata-matai, pdhal yo saling tau juga) ;p
Kasus keempat berlangsung di Kyoto dan melibatkan Tengu. Sekumpulan teman lama yang sudah menjadi pekerja film terkenal, satu persatu dibunuh oleh monster dari film terbaru mereka. Shinichi, Heiji, Sera dan Inspektur Fumisiapaitu-pokoknya-yang-alisnya-kece-dan-bawa-bajing-kemanamana berusaha mengungkap kejadian di balik tragedi ini, yg awalnya sudah semenjak masa kuliah mereka. Etapi Shinichi malah gak bisa konsen gara2 Ran malah deket2 sama Okita yg kenalan pas kasus kendo sebelumnya. Nah lo... Kasusnya ini belum selesai, lanjut ntar di tankubon berikut. Gak sabar nunggu.maksudnya gak sabar nunggu kelanjutan cerita Shinichi-Ran lanjutan episode London ituuuu. Hahaha....

My Review
Lanjutan kasus pembunuhan di pertandingan kendo Heiji. Lagi-lagi kasusnya cuma gara-gara salah paham. Kasus ini mengingatkan saya agar selalu berhati-hati dalam bertindak. Selain itu, kasus ini juga mengajarkan saya agar punya mental yang kuat. Salah-salah, orang yang kita sayangi bisa terjerumus dalam bahaya.
Ngomong-ngomong di kasus ini, (calon) lawan tanding Heiji wajahnya mirip Shinichi. Orangnya lumayan lucu. Dengan pedenya dia ikut-ikutan membeberkan analisisnya di hadapan orang-orang :D. Dan lagi di sini Ran menunjukkan kemampuan karatenya. Haduh kalau melihat adegan ini saya jadi kepingin ikut latihan karate.
Kasus kedua adalah kasus membuntuti Ran seperti yang ada di blurb. Kasus pembuntutan ini berakhir di sebuah kafe. Malangnya, di sana, ada pelayan yang terbunuh.
Kasus ini mengajarkan saya supaya tidak bersikap terlalu menyebalkan. Apalagi kalau sikap kita itu ternyata merugikan orang lain. Jelas ujung-ujungnya kita lah yang rugi.
Btw, di kasus ini, tumben-tumbennya tebakan saya tentang siapa pelakunya benar, haha.
Lanjut kasus ketiga adalah kasus tentang suasana hati Ai. Kasus ini lucu. Grup detektif cilik pontang-panting mencari boneka strap Ai yang hilang. Ai syok sekali ketika mengetahui kalau boneka strap kesayangannya terjatuh entah di mana. Grup detektif cilik rela hujan-hujanan mencarinya. Conan bahkan rela mencebur ke laut. Tapi Conan ada maunya sih, haha.
Kasus berikutnya adalah kasus yang terjadi di tengah-tengah karya wisata yang dilaksanakan oleh SMA Ran. Apakah Shinichi ikut di karyawisata ini? Hmmm, silakan baca bukunya, hehehe.
Di kasus ini, mereka menginap di hotel yang sama dengan para artis dan orang-orang terkenal yang terlibat di dalam proses produksi sebuah film. Ternyata, film ini punya cerita yang menyedihkan baik di depan maupun di belakang layar.
Sayang kasusunya bersambung ke volume berikutnya. Dan volume berikutnya masih apa kabar, tidak tahu kapan terbitnya. Semoga tidak lama.
At last, ya....saya masih setia dengan komik ini. Masih belum bosan membaca ceritanya. Semoga saya masih bisa setia sampai akhir, *apa coba*. 5 dari 5 bintang selalu untuk Conan. It was amazing.

Jilid ini membongkar kes pembunuhan pengadil kendo di hadapan tandas. Seterusnya pembaca turut terasa teruja untuk mengetahui sikap Ran yang seakan-akan dilamun cinta. Ya, ia sememangnya merungsingkan Conan dan Detektif Mouri. Mereka mengekorinya secara diam-diam dan secara tak langsung bertemu dengan kes pembunuhan pelayan restoran di bilik pekerja. Siapa pembunuh yang mempunyai kudrat untuk mengangkat pasu besar untuk membunuhnya?
Episod seterusnya ialah berlaku kekecohan apabila strap Hugo - watak dan benda kegemaran Haibara didapati hilang. Haibara kecewa manakala Conan pula bertungkus lumus mencarinya kerana inginkan sesuatu dari Haibara.
Semasa mengikuti lawatan sambil belajar di Kyoto, Conan yang bertukar menjadi Shinichi, Heiji, Ran, Sonoko, Seira telah bertemu dengan produksi drama dan terseret bersama untuk menyiasat kes pembunuhan siling merah saga. Angka korban dan cedera semakin meningkat. Adakah puaka merah tua yang dikenali Tenga itu yang melakukannya? dalam masa yang sama, cik Momiji dan Okita muncul.

This volume begins right where the previous left off. If it has been a while, I suggest going back to read to get your mind back into the story. It ends fairly early in this volume and will probably leave you unfulfilled if you don’t take this approach. The first full length story of this book involves Detective Conan and Detective Richard Moore tailing Rachel and end up solving a crime. This is one of the quickest cases in all previous volumes of case closed! Next we have a lighter crime…a missing keychain/charm. I have commented in the past, but I like that every case does not deal with death. This case takes a few twists and turns, filling more pages than I thought it would. I believe that the story is one in which is needed to break up all the murder mysteries…even if that is the key component in these stories. Finally, we have a class trip in which Jimmy cannot catch a break…but may catch a cold. The story is not concluded with the pages of this volume, so you will have to stay tuned for volume 95 to see how everything turns out!

I am rapidly losing my tolerance for this series.
The English translation is lazy and riddled with stupid mistakes. The series is so old that the main characters have dubbed English names but literally no one else does which is just a mess. I really wish they'd just put a quick blurb at the beginning of any given book to be like "yeah, we changed the names in the fuckin idk 90s but we get that that's dumb now - we changed em back enjoy"
It's also really annoying how the writer is an overly horny old guy who can't stop objectifying teenage girls. AND his mystery writing is LAZY. Hey, guess what you should be investigating when the killer hires a bunch of people on the internet to cause a distraction. Instead, let's just continue having lunch after one of the people we were lunching with was brutally murdered right outside. Seems legit.
Oh, and the "translation" of the dialects. Straight up painful. What the hell were they thinking? It's so bad.

gregetan banget sama volume yg inih. kurang tertarik dengan 3 kasus di awal buku. yg kasus pertama lanjutan dr volume kemarin, kasus pembunuhan di resto dan hilangnya boneka ganci nya si Ai. kayak kurang greget. trus Conannya lagi galau gegara penasaran Ran lagi heboh mau wisata kemana & sama siapa. jadinya si Conan nggak fokus buat nyelesaiin kasusnya. aku malah penasaran banget sama kasus terakhirnya... pembunuhan berdasarkan legenda & cerita tentang tengu merah yg seperti biasanya bersambung. walaupun disini Conan banyak yg bantuin tapi tetep nggak bisa fokus gegara Ran ngedeketin pemain kendo yg mukanya mirip bgt sama Conan

Yang terasa berbeda dari volume ini adalah bahwa Conan/Shinichi tak sedominan biasanya. Kali ini bahkan ada kasus yang terpecahkan bukan oleh Conan (suatu anomali gak sih?).
Saya lupa, Ran pernah bertemu dengan Nona Momiji di mana ya? :(
Tentang kasus pembunuhan di Turnamen Kendo, saya kurang suka karena ternyata korbannya tak bersalah. Dan entah kenapa Aoyama Gosho sering sekali menciptakan plot semacam ini, yang membuat pembunuhnya menyesal di akhir. :( Maksud saya, ini kan masalah nyawa dan penyesalannya tak ada solusinya yah.

Wah saya merasa volume ini cepat datangnya, tidak selama biasanya saya menunggu untuk volume selanjutnya. Tiba-tiba saja saya sadar, wah volume berikutnya sudah datang. Pada volume ini seperti diingatkan bahwa Kudo sehebat apapun analisisnya tetaplah seorang anak SMA yang sedang senang-senangnya menjaga hubungan dengan lawan jenis. Misalnya saya berada di posisi yang sama, saya ragu akan melakukan yang Kudo lakukan agar bisa ikut karya wisata SMA hehe. Semacam terlalu merepotkan banyak orang dan takut juga berbahaya efek sampingnya.

To be honest, I ain't really remember when I bought this book. But, one thing for sure, Conan is always a compact manga. So, it would be very long and complicated one.
I reread this volume because I got so many confusion when I tried to read the 95th one. Therefore, I decided to reread. Well, at least when I reread again, I could gain a lot of new perspective.
Anyway, I like the last case from this volume. It's a rare opportunity seeing Sinichi, Hattori, and Sera together.

Most of the cases’ resolution in this volume were not satisfying.
I did enjoy the phone charm bit the most, actually. Reminded me, startlingly, that Ai is, in fact, a teenager. It’s easy to forget when she walks around with the emotional range of someone who’s read the full works of Dostoevsky.
The Tengu case perked me up. Mysterious folklore, a bit of flair. But I’ve grown a bit weary of characters who look like they’ve been photocopied with slight tweaks, and the endless charade and obliviousness of people around Shinichi. At least Sera’s got the sense the gods gave a goldfish.

Kapan tamat komik ini, ya? >.<
Sejak gue masih pake baju merah putih sampe kerja pun ini belom ada khilal mau tamat. Tapi, kalau tamat hari-hari gue ke Gramedia jadi suram wkkw Ngga ada yang gue tungguin terbitnya.
Sumfah ya gue ngakak di bagian kasus strap boneka Higo punya Ai. Pertama kalinya, gue ngeliat Ai beneran kayak bocah banget wkwkwkk sama... kelakukan si Conan yang gesrek cuman gegara Ran mau karya wisata wkkw

Siapa yang bisa mengalahkan pesona Shinichi di setiap buku-buku komik Detektif Conan, hmm? :)) Bahkan tidak Kindaichi. (Mereka punya pesona mereka masing-masing, IMO) Dan yup, kamu bisa melihat Shinichi lagi di sini. Yeay.

Sudah lama gak baca komik. Dari kecil suka komik Conan. dan ini Komik Conan pertama yang aku baca di tahun 2019. Ternyata isi cerita detektif Conan selalu bikin penasaran. Baca komik ini cuma perlu waktu dua hari -saking serunya-. hehe

I did it! I reached (and passed) chapter 1000!! It is a good volume, with lots of interesting drama in Shinichi and Ran's relationship. Plus a really cute mystery featuring an important phone strap Haibara looses! It's nice sometimes when someone doesn't have to die to still have a great story.
