Amazon "An awesome book, fun and funny." "Couldn't put it down!" "Don't miss this one!" "Great book! Once again LeRoy Clary delivers" Wit and wisdom when two brothers meet for the first time. One is a prince. The other is the bastard son of a dying king. Both must learn to survive in worlds neither is prepared for. Can blood overcome upbringing? If not, will either live through the long winter? How will the other four princes react when they learn of the new brother? How will all their relationships change with the appearance of the bastard and the appearance of assassins from a rival kingdom? This is a book about unexpected relationships, a small amount of wry humor, and of two young men who find they are half-brothers. Each is superior to the other in some manners, inferior in others. Each had his own goals for life, and few coincide with those of the other, yet they learn to work together even as their lives are placed in danger.
I've never seen a dragon, but wish I had. I live in Washington State with my wife, youngest son, and dog named Molly. I spend my time doing what I love the most: writing about an action-packed fantasy world of dragons, and magic. My leisure time is spent traveling and exploring the beautiful countryside in the Pacific Northwest from high desert to forests to coastal terrain.
In recent years, I've published over a dozen fantasy books including one called "DRAGON! Stealing the Egg" which began the idea of how to live and survive in a world where dragons are part of the landscape. The Dragon Clan Series is built on that idea. It is unique in that it introduces a new main character in each of the eight books of the series, yet continues the same storyline.
The book entitled Blade of Lies: Mica Silverthorne Story was a finalist in an Amazon national novel writer’s contest in 2013. My most recent series is The Mage’s Daughter, which is a little action and a bit of magic.
Couldn’t put it down - excellent story, the world built by the author seemed so real. Characters experienced true growth and change, and it took a turn I had never imagined. Well done!
Fantastic book. I love the complexity of the characters in here. This reads a lot like a Historical Fiction, with the clear scenes of the poor and how miserable they live, and how easy the royalty has it. It's fantasy because it's set in a fictional world, not because of any magic. I consider this novel Historical Fantasy. I really enjoyed it. The unknown bastard brother growing up in the poorest of the poor communities. You can tell either the author did their research, or they truly know what it's like to grow up with nothing, and have to fend for themselves. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to checking more out by the author. I do think the ending wrapped up a little too fast, but overall, the flow of this book was fabulous.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The bond between the brothers was my favorite part. Their bond was well written and realistic. The writing was great and descriptive. I was able to really feel like I was in Danktown with Rusty. I look forward to reading more books by this author in the future!
An original story line. As I said in my previous review I am now digging for another book. I am so glad I found this author. He encourages me to summit my novel or self publish.
