She’ll risk everything to bring her cowboy back home…One week ago, Cyrus Cahill told Ashley Jo “AJ” Somerfield that he’d be back in her arms by the weekend. He just needed to buy a bull for his ranch, and then they’d pick up where they left off after that romantic ride through the foothills. But now he’s gone missing and everyone—even the sheriff—believes he’s dead. Everyone…but AJ. She suspects foul play and she won’t rest until Cyrus is back home in Gilt Edge, right where he belongs. Because Cyrus isn’t the kind of cowboy who breaks a promise. And since she’s not the kind of woman who gives up on her man, AJ will risk anything to help bring him home…even her own life. Don’t miss this suspenseful conclusion of The Montana Cahills series from New York Times bestselling author B.J. Daniels.
B.J. Daniels started her life in Houston, Texas, before her family moved to Montana at age five. She grew up in a cabin in the Gallatin Canyon near Big Sky and later on Hebgen Lake near West Yellowstone. Because of her love for Montana, most of her books are set there. Born into a storytelling family, all she'd ever wanted to do was write stories. After a career as an award-winning newspaper journalist, she wrote and sold 37 short stories before she finally wrote her first book, ODD MAN OUT. Since then she has won numerous awards including a career achievement award for romantic suspense. She lives in Montana with her husband, Parker, two Springer Spaniels. When she isn't writing, she quilts, boats and. makes rope/fabric baskets. She always reads, loving to lose herself in a good book.
Oh, those Cahills, they are always stepping in something, they certainly seem to liven up their small rural community. This time the entire family is forced to deal with a ripping good mystery when informed by the authorities that the painfully shy and quiet Cyrus was suddenly married, missing, and presumed dead while nearly halfway across the globe. Wow, and all in one weekend. Cyrus had unwittingly tangled with a seductive sociopath/black widow. Juliette went through husbands like I go through wine. This treacherous beauty had quite the scheme and was a tenacious villain. The intriguing storylines were active, eventful, and well-crafted while the writing was engaging, occasionally steamy, and hard to put down. Ms. Daniels has been a recent discovery for me but I relish her lovably quirky yet flawed characters and clever yet easy to follow and witty tales.

B.J. Daniels saved the best for last in The Montana Cahills Series. The story of AJ and Cyrus is a mystery, suspense and a wonderful true love story and I loved it. It was so tough not to peek and read other reviews to see where the plot was heading, but I'm so glad I didn't. I'm not going to give up the plot either, I am only going to say it's a good one.
Cyrus Cahill and Ashley Jo “AJ” Somerfield have an attraction, but Cyrus is a thoughtful man, not given to impulsive actions and he is taking his sweet time making a move on AJ. After an almost first kiss, Cyrus leaves for Denver on a business trip and promises AJ he will be back on Saturday for Ruby Dee's chicken and dumplings, and her. When Saturday rolls around, no Cyrus, instead his brother, Sherriff Flint Cahill, gets a call informing him that Cyrus is missing and presumed dead.
What follows is a nightmare for the family and especially AJ. She won't believe and doesn't accept what they have been told, not only that Cyrus is dead, but the circumstances that lead to his death. She is determined to find him and bring him home to Gilt Edge, even when everyone else has given up hope.
This story line was totally unexpected! I don't want to give away the plot because of spoilers but let me just say, it's so different than the authors other books that you will be totally intrigued, as I was! A lot of the book doesn't happen in Montana, some of the book happens without the hero, Cyrus, all of the Cahills are in it, which I loved! and there are so many twists and turns, I couldn't put the book down until I finished it! It's a fantastic conclusion to the Montana Cahills series. This book reminds me why B.J. Daniels is one of my favorite authors. You just never know what she will come up with! I loved the different story and a different type of hero. It mixes things up! The heroine, A.J. Somerfield was also great. I enjoyed her back story and her character. Even if you haven't read all the other books, I still think you would like this one but do yourself a favor and read all the books! I would definitely recommend this book! I received this book from the publisher but wasn't required to leave a review. These opinions are my own.
Wrangler's Rescue is the last book in the Montana Cahills series. This is AJ and Cyrus's story. Cyrus leaves for a buying trip for the ranch. AJ is anxiously awaiting his return to finally get that kiss she has been wanting from him. They receive news that Cyrus suddenly got married on a cruise ship and has fallen overboard. Not one to give up, AJ sets out to the Caribbean to find out what really happened.
This held up fairly well as a stand alone. I hadn't read the book that came before this one, but I didn't feel like I missed much. This one more focuses on Cyrus and AJ with the rest of the family in the background. The mystery was enjoyable. I was eager to find out why Cyrus would up and marry a woman he just met. It really went against his nature. I was definitely not expecting that explanation I got. The search for the truth puts AJ's life in danger. I liked her determination not to give up on her love for Cyrus. I don't want to give away, but the ending was a satisfying one and wrapped up the series nicely.
Just finished Wrangler's Rescue by B.J. Daniels and was hooked from the very first page. She had me wanting to read more because you know the male main character's problem has to be solved because he's the main character. She's a favorite author any way so I always enjoy her books but this one had a twist that kept me wondering.
AJ has fallen in love with Gilt Edge, Montana and especially Cyrus Cahill. The man helping to rebuild is named Joe but she knows him as the man she loves. Only he shows no recognition of her only fear. AJ and Cyrus try to fight for their lives. A friend makes a call for help. An unlikely rescuer makes an appearance. An arrest is made. A wedding is attended and another planned.
Wrangler's Rescue is a thrill ride in the continuing saga of the Montana Cahills. The final eligible Cahill brother meets his true love even though his injury gets in the way. I'm sorry to see the Cahills come to an end. I'm a fan and always will be of a B. J. Daniels book. She always keeps you on the edge of your seat and cheering for her heroes and heroines. Keep the books coming Please,
A phone call was put through to his office. Sheriff Flint Cahill was shocked to hear the West Indies accent of the police commissioner on the Caribbean island of St. Augusta. Even more shocking and devastating was the reason for this call. According to the police commissioner Flint's brother Cyrus Cahill is missing and and feared to have gone overboard while on a Caribbean cruise with his newlywed wife. Flint's thoughts are all over the place. This guy has to be talking about some other Cyrus Cahill. His brother is in Denver, Colorado buying a bull for the family ranch. But the photo of Cyrus and a strange woman emailed to him proved indeed his brother had been on that ship. When Flint gathered the family and close friends Billie Dee and Ashley Jo "AJ" Somerfield to deliver the tragic news everyone was distraught and overwhelmed except for AJ. She spoke right up and declared that she didn't believe Cyrus was dead. She could feel that he was alive. Only a woman in love could feel so strongly. AJ was in love with Cyrus and planned to go to the islands and find him. Is Cyrus alive? Will AJ find him? What really happened on that cruise ship? Wouldn't you like to know? I kept turning the pages of this book to find the answers.
B.J. Daniels is a master writer of suspense and romance. She manages to keep readers guessing until the very end in her stories. Wrangler's Rescue has lots of twists and turns, action and suspense. Her characters are realistic and will have readers cheering on the good guys and booing the bad guys. Anyone who enjoys reading great romance with lots of action and suspense will love this book. I know I did.
Anytime you read a book by B.J. Daniels, you're guaranteed page-turning suspense. Just when AJ thought she and Cyrus Cahill would be a couple, Cyrus goes missing. Now, they are saying Cyrus is dead but not before getting married. It's up to AJ to find the truth. Get ready to stay up late reading this one.
I was looking forward to Cyrus's story but I didn't enjoy it as much as the others. Perhaps it was because I like my Heroes to be more Alpha and this one, clearly was not. I don't mean they need to be assholes or jerks, but more confident and powerful - which this Hero certainly was not. Now the heroine? Her I liked and it is clear that she is the one who wears the pants in the family. I liked that she never gave up on him! For this reason, I could not get into the story.
The Breath-Taking Conclusion of the Montana Cahills’ Saga!
B.J. Daniels’ delivers a truly fantastic romantic suspense series’ finale in Wrangler’s Rescue. Even though it logs in as the seventh installment in the saga, it also works perfectly well as a standalone if that is your preference. That said, your pleasure in the story will be increased if you’ve read the preceding books as previous favorite characters play supporting roles. Buckle your seat belts securely as Cyrus Cahill’s and Ashley Jo “AJ” Somerfield’s adventure won’t be a smooth ride.
AJ has had a crush on Cyrus for a while now. She feels certain he cares for her, but to say he’s reserved and not given to impulsive actions is putting it mildly. However, after a sweet and funny almost-first-kiss moment, Cyrus leaves for Denver to attend a cattle sale and pick up a bull for the ranch after promising AJ that he’d see her on Saturday. Her frustration and anticipation are palpable. But, Cyrus doesn’t appear on Saturday, nor does he check in. Then, Cyrus’ brother, the Sheriff, receives a call that Cyrus has been reported missing from a cruise ship and is presumed dead. Things get even more bizarre after that.
Durn! I really wanted AJ to get that kiss she longed for and for Cyrus to come out of his shell and finally make his move! I liked this couple from the get-go. Their relationship was so sweet. When Cyrus goes missing, I loved how AJ stepped up to the plate for her man vowing to find him and bring him home even while everyone else has given up hope. She trusted her heart and refused to believe the false narrative that was being fed them. Cyrus showed his mettle too as he fought to reclaim his life and AJ. His tenderness towards AJ confirmed what a wonderful man he was – a man well-worth fighting for. I was so aghast and enraged at all the despicable crooks and sociopaths who seemed to emerge from every quarter and pulled for justice to prevail!
Following please find a few choice lines from Wrangler’s Rescue. The last one is from one of my favorite scenes that’s not to be missed – when the couple almost kissed:
Sheriff Flint Cahill had been thinking about how quiet Gilt Edge had been lately, when a call was put through to his office. “Sheriff Flint Cahill?” a man asked in a West Indies accent. “Yes? How may I help you?” “I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Your brother Cyrus Cahill?” “Yes.” He sat up a little straighter, holding the phone tighter. “He has disappeared and believed to have gone overboard.” “Gone overboard?” Flint repeated thinking he must have heard wrong. “Yes, he has fallen off the cruise ship he was on.” Flint shook his head. “I’m sorry, who did you say you were?” “The police commissioner here on the island of St. Augusta in the Caribbean.” --- “If we’re going to die, I want you in my arms.” --- It had taken Cyrus a while to come out of his shell. One of those “aw shucks, ma’am” kind of cowboys, he was so darned shy she thought she was going to have to throw herself on the floor at his boots for him to notice her. But once he had opened up a little, they’d started talking, joking around, getting to know each other. Before he left, they’d gone for a horseback ride through the snowy foothills up into the towering pines of the forest. It had been Cyrus’s idea. They’d ridden up into one of the four mountain ranges that surrounded the town of Gilt Edge – and the Cahill Ranch. It was when they’d stopped to admire the view from the mountaintop that overlooked the small western town that AJ had hoped Cyrus would kiss her. He sure looked as if he’d wanted to as they’d walked their horses to the edge of the overlook. The sun warming them while the breeze whispered through the boughs of the nearby snow-laden pines, it was one of those priceless Montana January days between snowstorms. That’s why Cyrus had said they should take advantage of the beautiful day before he left for Denver. Standing on a bared-off spot on the edge of the mountain, he’d reached over and taken her hand in his. “Beautiful,” he’d said. For a moment she thought he was talking about the view, but when she met his gaze she’d seen that he’d meant her. Her heart had begun to pound. This was it. This was what she’d been hoping for. He drew her closer. His mouth was just a breath away from hers – when his mare nudged him with her nose. She could laugh about it now. But if she hadn’t grabbed Cyrus he would have fallen down the mountainside. “She’s just jealous,” Cyrus had said of his horse as he’d rubbed the beast’s neck after getting his footing under himself again. But the moment had been lost. They’d saddled up and ridden back to Cahill Ranch. AJ still wanted that kiss more than anything.
My heart remained lodged in my throat throughout this engrossing tale. Every single story in this series has rocked my world, but have to say that Wrangler’s Rescue tops them all. This story line was totally unexpected and there were so many twists and turns that I couldn’t put the book down until I’d finished. This review is a bittersweet farewell. All the loose ends from the series are tied up in a pretty bow, but I’m going to miss reading more about the Cahills and the small rural community of Gilt Edge, Montana. If you crave a well-plotted, heart-stopping suspenseful thrill ride paired with a lovely, subtle romance, Wrangler’s Rescue fills the bill!

I thought I knew what to expect from this seventh and final book in B.J. Daniels' Montana Cahills series, but there was no way I could possibly have expected this novel, which was completely different than any other book in this series, and I was awake for hours last night trying to figure out what to say about it that wouldn't give away too much of the surprises and suspense that await you in this novel, which gets 4-1/2 stars from this reader.
Wrangler's Rescue is the story of Cyrus Cahill, and AJ, who has loved him from afar, and, when he asks her to join him for a horseback ride, she comes within a hairs' breath of getting her first kiss from him, until his horse jostle's him and they nearly fall off the ridge they're standing on, and that's about as much romance as you're going to get for some time. When they return to the ranch, Cyrus is tasked with going to Denver to pay for a new bull that the Cahill's are buying and he promises to be back home on Saturday to enjoy Billie Dee's special Texas style chicken and dumplings, his favorite, but Cyrus isn't back on Saturday, and soon, his brother, Sheriff Flint Cahill, gets a phone call from the police commissioner on St. Augusta, an island in the Caribbean, and he's calling to tell Flint that Cyrus is missing and presumed dead after falling overboard on a cruise ship in the Caribbean, and then sends evidence--a photo of Cyrus in a tuxedo, with his arm around a beautiful blonde woman, at what appears to be their shipboard wedding. How he ended up on a cruise ship when he was supposed to be in Denver is a mystery to all who love him, and totally out of character for Cyrus.
When Flint gives the sad news to the rest of the family, and AJ, no one can believe it, and that's especially true of AJ. How Cyrus could have gone from almost kissing her, to going to Denver, to getting on a cruise ship, which couldn't possibly have been in Denver, to marrying a total stranger, only to fall overboard on his wedding night and drown, is something so far-fetched that AJ simply cannot accept it. Cyrus does look either drunk or drugged in the wedding photo, and everyone knows that Cyrus isn't a drinker, and he certainly doesn't do drugs, and AJ has a gut-feeling that Cyrus is still alive, that something is very wrong with the story they've been told, and she decides to head for Denver, try to pick up his trail, and then heads to the Caribbean to try to find him, hopefully alive.
Unlike the other novels in this series, most of this novel doesn't take place in Gilt Edge, Montana, or on the Cahill ranch there. Most of this incredibly suspenseful novel takes place in the Caribbean, as AJ pursues the truth of what happened to Cyrus. While back in Gilt Edge, Juliette, the blonde in the wedding photo, who claims to have married Cyrus after they fell in love at first sight in a Denver hotel bar, and suddenly decided to take a cruise, got married by the captain aboard the ship, and she's now there there to collect her inheritance, the 1.5 million dollars that is what Cyrus' share of the Cahill ranch is worth. To say that something is very wrong in Gilt Edge, Montana is putting it mildly.
What follows is one wild ride as AJ begins her search among the islands for the man she loves, while back in Gilt Edge, Juliette, rather than searching for her husband's body or his remains, can't seem to get her hands on his death certificate quickly enough, both to prove her outlandish story and so that she can get her hands on a piece of the Cahill ranch, and there are are enough plot twists and complications along the way both in Gilt Edge and in the Caribbean, that it was almost impossible not to skim ahead to see what happens, but I did resist the temptation, because this novel was such a thrill ride that I didn't want to miss a minute of this complex and utterly entertaining romantic suspense novel.
I will warn you that this novel is rather light on the romance and heavy on the suspense, and the lack of romance is the reason I gave it 4.5 stars rather than 5, but it all made for one heck of an exciting read from beginning to the HEA ending, and what a way to end a series! If you've not read all the previous novels in this series, I wouldn't worry overmuch. Wrangler's Rescue works just fine as a standalone, although you'll lose some of the inter-connections between the characters who've all been featured in the previous novels, but don't miss this one--it's that good.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.
Some housekeeping: though this is book 7 in the Montana Cahills series, it is a stand alone. Some of the previous characters/couples make appearances in this book but that isn't going to take away from those stories if you go on to read them. It also doesn't make an impact in reading this book. I highly suggest you read the rest of this series because I've actually really enjoyed it and I look forward to each new book in it. B.J. Daniels gives you some angst and suspense, she gives you some romance but it's not blatantly sexual. It's subtle and I think that's a good market to be in because not everyone is looking for a 50 Shades of Grey romance. So for all of that alone, I suggest this one.
In this book we focus on Cyrus and AJ. Cyrus, right on the cusp of making a move on AJ, goes out of town for a cattle sale and leaves AJ back in Gilt Edge waiting for his promised return. That goes awry when the folks in Gilt Edge are informed that Cyrus has fallen off the side of a cruise ship in the Caribbean and his wife is distraught. Obviously they think this is a scam, but it turns out Cyrus was swept off his feet with this woman, went on an impulse cruise and got married aboard the ship, only to mysteriously fall over the side in the night with nobody around to see it. The whole family is upset but AJ doesn't believe Cyrus is dead. Though the search has been called off and the wife has arrived in Gilt Edge to meet everyone, AJ thinks everything about this feels off so she is determined to figure out what really happened and hopefully, bring Cyrus back home where he belongs.
I have to be honest with you, I wasn't a fan of AJ in the other books, she just seemed kind of... whiny? She just kind got on my nerves and I wasn't looking forward to her being featured heavily in a book, but here we are. And I was pleasantly surprised. She wasn't as awful as I thought she would be and she turned out to be quite a spitfire and a heavily intelligent one to boot. The way this story plays out is GREAT and rolls out like a Hallmark movie. I'm not going to tell you what happens but just know that things really start rolling once AJ gets to Dominica. It feels like there are two different stories going on here, AJ and Cyrus, but also the wife and her own plot and somehow they merge together really well.
I'm becoming a solid fan of B.J. Daniels and I really enjoyed this book. This kept me on the edge of my driver's seat as I waited for my daughter to finish dance!
Wrangler's Rescue is the seventh and final installment in the Montana Cahill series and I for one am sorry to see it end. Only having read four of the seven books in the series, I've missed some of the books along the way but I hope to rectify that soon. The books I've missed have all been added to my always growing TBR pile!
Wrangler's Rescue had us reuniting with the Cahills and their spouses along with others who are like family and also Harp, the deputy who always seems to be in hot water. The story is a romantic suspense and had dark undertones and was filled with sorrow since Cyrus, who went to buy a bull in Denver, turns up going overboard on a cruise ship after he supposedly gets married. His family knows nothing about any of it and don't like his wife, Juliette, at all when she contacts them. When A.J, the bartender at the Stagecoach Saloon owned by Cyrus' brother and sister, has a gut feeling something's not right, the others sit up and take notice especially when she says she feels he's still alive. She and Cyrus were getting closer just before he had to take the trip to Denver. To say she's devastated is an understatement.
The story takes many twists and turns in Montana and the Caribbean but also in Arizona and Miami where Juliette is being looked at for crimes as she's known as a black widow with many marriages and almost as many dead husbands. There are crimes being committed, violence and injuries and Juliette seems to almost always be at the center of things. AJ's feelings take her all over the Caribbean trying to find out what really happened to Cyrus and if he's in fact still alive. She's wary and doesn't know who she can trust. She has the support of Cyrus' family, especially his brother, Flint, who is the sheriff of their small town. There are vivid descriptions in all the locales that made me feel that I was there. The characters have a lot of layers to them and we get to know them a little at a time and things look more sinister the more we find out. There is nice closure after many near death experiences and a happily-ever-after in the offing.
Ms. Daniels writes wonderful books set in the west and I look forward to reading more of her books.
He always keeps his promises. She trusts him completely. So when a handsome cowboy disappears, the woman he loves will do everything in her power to bring him home in B.J. Daniels’ Wrangler’s Rescue, the seventh and final volume in the captivating Montana Cahills series.
Just as their romance blossoms, Cyrus Cahill must travel to Colorado to buy a bull for his ranch. He promises Ashley Jo Somerfield he won’t be long and should return in less than a week. But the week has come and gone, and still there is no sign of Cyrus and A.J. is getting worried.
In fact, it seems like everyone suspects the worst. Cyrus’ brother, Sheriff Flint Cahill, receives a call from the Florida police which indicates the missing cowboy is presumed dead after reportedly falling over the side of a cruise ship. The devastating news sends the entire Cahill clan into a tailspin.
Despite everyone else’s state of shock, however, A.J. knows in her heart of hearts that Cryus is still alive and kicking, and she vows to prove it. And this is how Daniels turns a love story and missing person’s case into a tightly woven yarn that twists and turns and pulls readers in every direction possible, leaving all of us to wonder, “Is Cyrus really dead?”
Wrangler’s Rescue is another home run hit for Daniels. It’s a roller coaster ride that keeps us guessing and turning pages, one which delightfully brings to a close the Montana Cahills series and leaves the author’s legion of fans satisfied and happy when the final page is turned. Make sure you add this one to your must-read list!
WOW!! Grab yourself of this suspense filled mystery is my advice to you - I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the seventh book in this series and has references to events in earlier stories but I think it would still work well as a standalone read, even though it may well tempt you to check out the earlier books, too!
Cyrus Cahill is the quiet, shy brother, the one who thinks everything through, reviews his options and takes his time before making any decisions or moves. Imagine the surprise then when his family are informed that he's fallen from a cruise ship where he was on honeymoon with his new wife! Cyrus had told AJ that he'd be home from his trip to buy a bull for the ranch on Saturday. She can't believe he'd willingly marry someone he'd just met or that he'd take off on a cruise! She's sure something is wrong and is determine to find out what has happened to the man she loves . . . . and so this suspense filled adventure begins!
This is a fast paced mystery, with murders, suspense and a fantastic family in a brilliant suspense-filled read. The characters are well developed, the plot has plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing, there's dramatic action and more in this brilliant novel. I found it a real page turner that I didn't want to put down until I'd finished it so have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending it to anyone who enjoys intriguing romantic supsense.
I requested and was given a copy of this book, via NetGalley. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.
Wow – what a different sort of book from BJ Daniels. Imagine a book about a Montana cowboy that doesn’t take place in Montana for at least half of the book! I was surprised.
Cyrus Cahill is not your typical Daniels’ cowboy. He’s an ‘aw shucks’ type of shy man. Personally, I enjoyed the split from the norm. When Cyrus goes off the Denver to buy a bull, Ashley Jo Somerfield (better known as AJ) plans on his return. She wants the kiss that she never received the last time they were together. She wants that kiss more than anything else in the world.
When the family receives word that Cyrus is dead, she refuses to believe it. She believes there has been foul play and she won’t stop until she brings him back home. She’s willing to risk everything on her feeling that he’s alive.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review and I’m telling you – this is a good read. It took me two days to read it (only because life interfered) but it’s a page turner. Action upon action, upon action! The bad guys are bad, the good guys are great. So, pick up this book and follow AJ and Cyrus through their adventure.
Having said all that – I was disappointed that we never found out what Ely knew about the missile silo and the happenings around it. I’d like one more book to wrap up those loose ends. I’m pretty sure I’m with the town of Gilt Edge in that is wasn’t really all about UFOs and alien abductions.
It was bad enough finding out that Cyrus spontaneously got married but that he also fell off a cruises ship and lost at sea when he was supposed to be getting a bull had left AJ feeling the need to do something. She refuses to believe he's dead and now its clear that his wife is a gold digger could she have something to do with his death. AJ will stop at nothing to find Cyrus because in her heart she knows he's alive.
I loved the strength and determination AJ had. She was a pretty amazing character. When she wants something and if it has to do with those she loves she will stop at nothing. Shes not the type of women who would just take a simple answer and that's it she'll do what she feels is right. I loved that she was also a fighter because its clear something is up and shell do what she has to do to stay alive and protect other. I just loved her fiercely protective nature. To be honest it was pretty refreshing getting this from a female character where its usually the females that stand aside and are supposed to be strong but don't back up what is being told and this character was pretty amazing. I loved that there was so much going on in this book that'll keep the readers hooked. Just read this book if you can your not gonna want to miss this or any of the other books to this series.
Today I will be sharing my thoughts on Wrangler's Rescue by BJ Daniels, which happens the first time I'm trying her books. When I was offered a chance to read this book, I was excited. First off, I have heard of her, and she was suggested to me to checked out when I was in Montana. I never did get a chance, but this was always in the back of my mind. We moved to Oklahoma, still have read her, but decided to try Wrangler's Rescue. The story can be read as a standalone, but I feel this story would be better read in order.
Wrangler's Rescue was pretty good read. We have Cyrus Cahill about ready to make his declaration of love to Ashley Jo "AJ" Somerfield. However, he has to leave on a business trip. Things take a turn and he ends up dead, and now he has a widow. Yet, AJ smells something fishy, and she's willing to take a chance to find whats going on with Cyrus.
Oh man the twist and turns this story takes along the way are fantastic. I felt the need to keep reading, because I needed to know what in the world made Cyrus marry some nobody. It was interesting and mildly suspenseful. Overall, Wrangler's Rescue was a pretty awesome read.
The last of the Montana Cahills series, in which brother Cyrus Cahill is reported missing and possibly dead when he falls off a cruise ship in the Caribbean after a surprise wedding to a woman he meets days earlier. But his friend, AJ, doesn't believe it. She feels he's still alive and against the advice of Cyrus' siblings, she sets out to find him. The last island she visits is where she finds him, but Cyrus doesn't recognize her, even acts as if she might represent danger to him.
When he finally accepts that his attraction to her rules her out as a reason for his nightly terrors after finding himself fighting ocean waves, she tells him who he is and convinces him to come home with her--even if he doesn't recall who she is or why he wants to kiss her.
What follows is a story that ramps up the tension with each succeeding chapter. But even at home, the danger Cyrus feels doesn't leave him and with good reason: someone is out to kill him and now AJ, too. How this all resolves leaves me wondering if the next series promised will feature Gigi after her birth mother's wedding to her 50-something cowboy.
Once again I turned to this author for some big time reading pleasure. When I want some good to honest intrigue with characters that will leap off the pages I know that will come from this author. Also it was a plus since I had read the ones before this. So I think to it could be safe to say I had to make another trip to Montana to see what was next. The one in this has not been that loud so when Cyrus is the center with AJ curiosity was a big factor right from the beginning. The mysteries she gives us is like a big puzzle that you must put together with looking for the pieces is only half the fun. The drama that unwinds is also pulling you forward with you wanting to wipe the "bad guys" out as soon as you can. I knew that a cowboy would have a good chance of surviving this dilemma but easy is not in the cards. Captivated right from the start I am like glue until I's have been dotted and T's crossed. Superb again with a adventure that took me away.
When Cyrus Cahill is reported as falling overboard on a cruise ship and believed read his family is distraught. AJ works as a bartender at the family saloon and has a connection with Chris and knows he can't be dead or she would feel it. Another shocker for the family is that Chris got married on the cruise in the Bahamas. His wife shows up and wants his share of the family ranch. AN leaves to find Chris and to bring him back to Montana where he belongs. When she finds him he doesn't know who he is. The plot just gets better and better with what is happening in both places, the island and the town of Gilded Edge, Montana. This is a book you can't put down because things keep changing and you want to see how it all comes together in the end. Another great story by one of the queens of cowboy stories.
First off I hate that this series has ended...It was a good one..This book was THE best one of the stories I believe...B J sucked me in from the very first page til I only put it down to sleep! What a roller coast ride for AJ and Cyrus...When the family is told that Cryus is gone on the day he was to come home AJ doesn't believe it..She also doesn't believe what he did before he "died". She knows in her heart he is still alive so she goes to look for him after his "wife" comes to Gilts Edge to "mourn"..She is a snake in the grass...The harrowing adventure to get Cryus back home to family is wraught with danger at every turn....You have to read this book. The power of family and love can get you through everything..I really really loved this book!!!
Wow, what an awesome ending to an awesome series! Cyrus is not Daniel's typical hero, he is so shy it is almost painful. I don't know if she's had a Montana cowboy that wasn't so sure of their masculine appeal, it was actually kind of refreshing and cute. I loved how loyal and sure AJ was of Cyrus's feelings for her. I don't want to spoil any of the awesome twists and turns in this conclusion so will not say anymore about AJ's determination to discover what happened. If you haven't started this series now's the time to round up copies of the rest of the series and indulge in a binge read of one of the best of Daniel's series.
the 7th and last book in the cahill series. cyrus cahill goes to Denver to purchase a bull for the family ranch and cant wait to get home to Ashley jo aj to tell her he is in love with her and the chicken and dumplins that the cook is making his favorite.. when he doesn't come home flint gets a call that cyrus was in the Caribbean and missing he fell off a ship and blood was found the biggest shock was he got married by the captain....his new wife Juliette rushes to get a death certificate so she can get his half of the ranch.. aj doesn't belive he is dead and goes to the Caribbean to look for him while Juliette heads to the cahills to get her slice of the pie before its to late....
Well done BJ! I love how you did the final book to this series. True love knows when someone is there or don't they? That is the basis for the book. Its well written with the right blend of mystery and action. She has the whole family back with Ashley Jo Sommerfield trying to "find" Cyrus Cahill. I love how the interesting twists there is in the plots. You don't know what to expect next. The female fatale is always switching things up. So you never know what to expect next. Its fun to read but it keeps you curious enough to keep turning the pages. Its a great book and I'm looking forward to see what is next from this great lady!
This is about a missing cowboy. But his girlfriend knows he's not dead, at least she feels he's not dead. Then it becomes bizarre when a woman named Juliette shows up with a wild tail that she married Cyrus on board a ship and that he fell overboard and was dead. That's when AJ figures when something doesn't feel right about what she's hearing. So she quits her job and goes searching for him. After many weeks she finally finds him. In the mean time Juliette has been making demands on his family wanting half of their ranch, paid in cash as a settlement. B.J. writes such wonderful stories!
Wow! What an exciting, action packed book! I loved the mystery, the intrigue, the HEA....I don't think there was anything that I didn't like in this book! AJ's belief that Cyrus was still alive, and risking her life to try and find him is the most touching thing and totally something I would do. I didn't realize this was the end of the series, now I need to get the rest of the series and read the beginning of it!

Wow....this book, to me, is one of BJ Daniel’s best. It is so full of suspense & intrigue. Cyrus Cahill is the shy one in the family and never takes chances. Finding out he is not only on a cruise and has gotten married is a shock to the family, then hearing he fell overboard and is missing, presumed dead is an even more shock. But Ashley Jo doesn’t believe it...she feels he is alive and is determined to try to find him, no matter what it takes. This book was really hard to put down...I totally loved it. It is a must read!
