This is the first book of the Playing With Fire Series a hot and fiery story with a delicious mix of romance, deep passion by Lucia Jordan! Being a firefighter was the only thing Lucinda Gonzales ever wanted to be. While most girls were playing dolls or dress up, she was playing with her brothers in the back yard, pretending to save people from burning buildings. Firefighting is in her blood, passed down from generation to generation. So when she gets the chance to finally get into the academy to become a firefighter, she doesn’t hesitate. After her older brother is killed in a burning building, she becomes more determined than ever. She’ll be just as successful as her two brothers ahead of her, her father, and her grandfather. Just because she’s a girl doesn’t change a thing. However, there’s one person standing in her way of becoming the greatest. Chief Maddox Lancaster. The dangerously sexy, arrogant as hell fire chief seems to be throwing one obstacle after another at her, but she won’t let him stop her. It doesn’t matter if the smoldering looks he slides her way are hotter than a five alarm fire. Maddox Lancaster is more dangerous than any burning building—can Lucy take it?
Since releasing her first romance book in 2012, Lucia Jordan has done more than just write stories. She has helped define a genre. As a pioneer of the digital romance revolution, Lucia has penned hundreds of sizzling titles, delighted millions of readers, and earned thousands of five-star reviews. Her ability to blend emotional depth with uninhibited passion has made her a household name, with her hit novel Rock Hard earning a coveted nod as the #1 must-read erotic novel by Women's Health magazine.
But Lucia’s passion extends beyond the page. As the creative force and founding author behind Wild Hearts Romance, she is a champion for the indie community, dedicated to lifting up new voices in a genre she calls powerful, valid, and necessary. She writes for the dreamers and the risk-takers to craft stories that leave nothing to the imagination and remind us all that everyone deserves a happily-ever-after.
When she isn’t fantasizing about her next spicy scene or advocating for fellow writers, Lucia can be found in her sanctuary, a cozy garden gazebo in the Pacific Northwest. It is here that she retreats with her literary trio of cats, Ursula, Colette, and Daphne, to let her imagination wander. With a cup of tea in hand, she dreams up the sizzling plotlines and unforgettable adventures that have made her a bestseller.
It was a good short story. I liked the little details that were thrown in. I also liked that it included a back story at the beginning. I just dont understnad how her brother opened the door when it states at the start of the scene he locked the door
