Les Miserables has been a globally successful musical for 30 years and continues to delight and move audiences around the world, and there is no sign of it slowing down. From the early days in Paris through to Cameron Mackintosh becoming involved, through to the Oscar winning movie, this marvellous story is told by the people involved; the composers, producers, singers, and actors.
I’m a little sad that this isn’t engaging me as much as I want it to be. That said – I love that this narrator doesn’t pronounce the l in Boublil. It’s such a serious, reverent book - too reverent, really - and then Polycarpou will just drop a boobie. Hilarious.
