UNSTOPPABLE is the highly anticipated third book in the critically acclaimed thriller series NATURE OF GRACE by award-winning and Kindle bestselling author S.R. Johannes.
The NATURE OF GRACE series (UNTRACEABLE and UNCONTROLLABLE) has made many of the top young adult/teen best seller lists including: Best Debut, Movers and Shakers, Top 100 in Thrillers, and the Top 100 in Teen Action Adventure books. Now comes the next thrilling book in the Nature of Grace series...UNCONTROLLABLE. After everything that has happened, Grace moves to the Everglades to live with her grandmother, Birdee, and hang out with old man Rex, Birdee's "friend with benefits". Grace quickly befriends Dylan, Rex's nephew, and Dylan's girlfriend, Sadie, who is a die-hard teen activist. Sadie spends her time leading protests against the roadside zoos that run rampant in Florida with a total disregard for animals or the flimsy law. One day while out in the marshes of the Everglades, Grace and her friends rescue an abused--and endangered--Florida panther. She and Birdee spend time rehabilitating the animal. But when the panther runs off, Grace follows it to Uncle Bob's, a large roadside zoo they all have been protesting. One that is illegally filled with a variety of endangered and exotic animals. Before she can rescue the panther, she and her friends are kidnapped by the ruthless owner and dragged deep into the Everglades for a hunting challenge. Only this time, Grace is the prey. During a sick game of cat and mouse, Grace and her friends are offered one chance at survival, but only if they reach civilization before being caught. With a small head start and very little supplies, only time and skill stand between the hunter and the hunted. But out in the Everglades, there may be more dangers that Grace realizes. Against all odds, Grace must make it out alive and win, or everything she holds dear could be lost.
Shelli R. Johannes is the author of 18 books (out and forthcoming). She is the coauthor (with Kimberly Derting) of the popular CECE LOVES SCIENCE series and PENNY (An Engineering Tale of the Fourth Pig). In addition to her tween and teen novels, she is also the author of the THEO THESAURUS series and SHINE LIKE A UNICORN. Her new chapter book in Chelsea Clinton’s “She Persisted” series on FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE comes out in March 2023.
Shelli can often be found on highways and country roads saving strays and other jaywalking critters or volunteering with animal conservation groups. After earning a master’s to follow her passion of writing.
She lives in Atlanta with her own pack of unicorns: a British husband, two teens, two Goldendoodles, one sassy bird, and the many loud characters that “live” in her head. Shelli is addicted to exclamation points, puns, unicorns, and anything sciencey. You can always count on her to laugh at her own jokes, at least once.
Jun 09, 2014 I'm not an outdoorsy type. The only outoor activity I do is taking lazy strolls around where I live (but mostly, I just like to take pictures). And I'm not comfortable around animals, either. So it comes somewhat as a surprise that I'm enjoying this series so much.
Here's the thing: it's impossible not to like Grace. She's spunky, witty and resourceful. Compared to many YA series nowadays, this one set itself apart in many ways: it never gets overly-mushy, it doesn't rely on stereotypical and well-tested character types (no mean girls as schoolmates, for example), and it's completely void of any fantastical element.
If you're looking for something different, you should definitely give this series a try.
Apr 02, 2014 (before reading) The release date got pushed farther again, now it's scheduled for the 3rd of June. We'll just wait here like this:
Dec 04, 2013 (before reading) S.R. Johannes kindly informed me that the book got pushed to spring 2014. Waiting for spring, then:
Nov 05, 2013 (before reading) On July, I've asked the author (on her twitter) about the release date for this, but I didn't get a reply. I tried again today, but I'm not very hopeful.
Feeling privileged to have been given the chance to read this early. This is my favorite Grace book, she's feisty and smarter than ever. Birdie' s pet bird makes a return appearance as Grace moves in with her grandmother. The bird makes for wonderful comic relief. Now living in the Glades to be safe from Al Smith she's still determined to protect the wildlife. Having met some new friends she is quickly caught up in a hunt unlike any other. You'll find this book quick and the story gripping. There will definitely be more Grace stories and I can't wait to read them.
Now that goodreads works properly I can finally say a few things about this book and to set the read dates (it stressed me out so much). This book was full of action, dramatic scenes and we finally get closure on Grace's story. Even though this book had under 300 pages it took me so long to read it and it seemed as if it would never end. I can't say the action dragged because there were a ton of things happening, which can keep you on the edge of your seat but... I couldn't feel the tension. I wanted to see what the conclusion to this whole series was. There were a couple of things I didn't see coming or I was expecting for them to get better in the end but the author kept a more realistic vibe to story. I am not saying this wasn't a good book, I might've not been in the best mood for it. The first one was a blast for me and the second one as well. Maybe it could have been a duology. If you are looking for a series full of mystery, action, some romance and pretty rough scenes you're in for a treat.
This is the last book in the series and is a little more hard hitting than the previous two.
This book is full of action and drama. As with previous books there is witty dialogue, death and Grace's love for animals leading her and others into trouble.
Poor Grace has suffered a lot and suffers a little more, however there is another great supporting cast, along with a few others who play a major role in this new instalment.
I really loved this book and hope that Grace gets a more stable future with Mo by her side.
Great serious, not just for teens. Writing excellent would recommend to anyone over sixteen
This is an excellent series plenty of action with a strong thought and emotionally story line. Would give it ratting of 19 would not recommend for young teens because of violent content. Look forward to reading more by this author.
This is not quite as good as the first two (or I'm becoming more critical). This one is very straightforward, not a lot of twists and surprises. It's also not quite as well put together and edited as the first 2. Still enjoyed it, but just wasn't quite what I was hoping for.
Decent ending to the series. However, Grace started grating on my nerves halfway through this due to her pigheaded behavior. I understand it was necessary to keep the plot going, but at some point even a headstrong teen must begin to realize it is necessary to heed other peoples' advice.
I enjoyed this book. I haven’t read Book 1 or 2. I found this book on our bookshelf. This is not normally my type of book to read, but I did enjoy the story and the way the author wrote. I would like to get my hands on the first two books. This was definitely worth reading.
There are no unhidden spoilers for this book, but you might catch some stuff you might not want to read if you haven't read the first book.
Unstoppable felt somewhat disconnected from the first two books, at least initially. I lean towards 3.5 stars, but the ending kind of makes up for it.
Uncontrollable picked up pretty soon after Untraceable and continued a lot of the same story arc while also introducing the new storyline of the red wolf conservation project; a few new characters were introduced, but most made at least a small appearance in the first book.
Unstoppable, however, takes place something like nine months after the first book, and Grace is no longer in North Carolina. She's living at Birdee's Florida house in the Everglades while her mom tries to sell the house and law enforcement tries to locate Al. That's all we know of what happened between the 2nd book and the 3rd. It would have been nice if the story had picked up soon after Uncontrollable rather than making a huge jump that separates the two books. Most of the characters from the rest of the series are barely mentioned in this one (and those that are in it don't appear until later): Wyn, Skyler, Les, Mo, Sweeney, Mary (Grace's mom), etc. Instead we've got Rex (Birdee's "friend"), Dylan (Rex's nephew), Sadie (Dylan's girlfriend), and some bad guys. Of course we also have Birdee, and she's awesome. I liked the new characters, and I understand why Grace had to be relocated (Al), but I was sad that all of the known characters were just kind of left behind with no warning and no goodbye (at least not for the reader--and there's no mention of it in the book). Can I complain that Mo was absent for like half of the book? That's second-book stuff, not final-book stuff. And it already happened in the second book, so I was a bit irritated that he didn't show up until later.
Grace kind of bugged me in this book. Don't get me wrong--I still liked her. But she was so insecure about Mo, always thinking something was wrong with their relationship. Okay, I get that they hadn't seen each other in six weeks when the book started, and Sweeney had basically forbidden Mo from contacting her in order to avoid providing Al with a trail to follow. And that totally stinks. But whenever they managed to talk, he never gave her any reason to doubt things between them. And she actually got more reckless than in the previous two books, rushing in to danger with practically no thought. You'd think that she'd have hesitated, but she didn't. And Mo--dear Mo--I had hoped he'd get in her way a bit more, but of course he relented. Because why wouldn't you go rushing off into the Everglades to save a Florida panther with your girlfriend after she just got back from almost dying. Again. Seems like a logical next step to me.
Also, let's just talk about when Mo does show up. It just didn't make a lot of sense to me.
Yet even with my complaints, I still really enjoyed Unstoppable. Disconnection aside, it was a pretty good ending for the series. Especially the end of it.
How it ends:
Note: More swearing than the other books, but still not a ton.
I also got a chance to read the original ending of Untraceable, and I have to say I appreciate the changes that were made. These are the main things that were different in the original:
W O W Okay so I ended up finishing this in about one day because I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. Grace is living at Birdee's house in the Everglades, after all the crazy sh*t she's been through. We are introduced to her grandmother's boyfriend/friend, Rex, and his nephew Dylan who is referred to as a "modern day Paul Bunyan" because he's a big strong dude. In one of the first scenes we see him in, he provokes a fight with an alligator over a sandwich, and wrestles it. He introduces Grace to his spunky girlfriend Sadie, who is basically an animal-rights activist (is that the right term? I don't know). The two girls hit it off right away obviously. While at a protest at "Uncle Bob's" roadside zoo, Grace is caught on Camera, and my first thought was "Oh crap, Al is going to see that you dummy". Of course, that is what happens. Anyway, this Bob guy turns out to be batsh*t crazy, and kidnaps the three kids after they try to release the panther they'd rescued earlier, Cat. I. was. freaking. out. the whole time I read the scene where they try to escape with Cat. Once they get kidnapped, they are brought out to the middle of the woods, and put in a cabin. Turns out, Bob and his weird backwoods goons have a Benders-complex (Supernatural reference, anyone?) They kidnap teen runaways and hunt them for sport. Oh, and to feed his pet Liger. Did I mention the gigantic Liger? Hercules the Liger, one of the many abused animals at this 'zoo'. Grace and her friend recognize a girl they saw on TV who was missing, and watch as she is gunned down by Bob. The three are given an hour head start and separate to split up the amount of enemies coming after them. Grace ends up caught in a tree, hiding from Hercules. Eventually, the three meet back up after a few days. But Dylan goes to distract the hunters while the girls escape. We have the horrifying scene where Grace accidentally stabs and kills the young boy, and then Sadie leaves and goes after Dylan. The boy's father targets Grace in a vengeful manner, and just as his dog is about to kill her, who should show up to save the day, but Mo? Ah, yes. Morris Cameron, our favorite sexy British outdoorsguy. The two have a happy reunion after knocking out the hunter. Unfortunately, the duo runs into Bob- and his Liger. After some fighting and gun-pointing, Bob tries to sic Hercules on Mo and Grace, however, the Liger attacks his abusive owner and drags his body to the bushes. Basically, Grace and Mo make it home to Birdee, but then, wait! How else can we try to get ourselves killed? Why, by going back to Bob's to try and rescue the animals. This part was completely, utterly heartbreaking. When the Lion just falls down and gives up in it's cage? I started crying. All the monkey's accept for one have died, and she keeps carrying around her dead baby- i couldn't take it. Heartwrenching. Grace gives the monkey some raisins luckily, and it is fine. But then, while Mo is on the phone with Sweeney, Al shows up. Grace is taken hostage into Bob's house by Al, and theres a bunch more survival techniques and fighting, and they end up outside. Everybody is pointing a gun at eachother, Al is trying to re-kidnap Grace, and Mo and Sweeney are there. The monkey comes up and tries to help Grace, but AL KICKS THE MONKEY. ( I HATE HIM). This made me so mad. The poor little Monkey. Anyways, it's looking like there's no hope- Grace is going to get taken by Al and probably be killed- but suddenly, Cat attacks Al! This is the perfect distraction for Grace to get away and be safe, until Al points a gun at Cat, Grace throws herself in front of Cat and takes a bullet to the thigh. After Al is arrested, FINALLY your adrenals can stop working on overdrive, Everything's gonna be okay, but then NOPE. Hercules the Liger has somehow made his way back to Bob's. Grace orders Birdee to run over the fence to safety, while she distracts the Liger. She out-maneuvres the Liger, knicking it's shoulder with her knife, but then he attacks Mo, and there is no choice but to shoot Hercules. Flashing back to the conversation the couple had about killing an animal in defense. Unfortunately, we find out that Dylan was killed. Sadie is devastated and may lose part of her leg. Sadie's dad accuses Grace of ditching her in the woods. She accuses him of crappy policies on the Zoos. All in all, this was the most epic book in the series to me. It was intense through every page, and I really couldn't stop reading.

Unstoppable is the heart-stopping story of a teen who is being chased down by a hunter through the Everglades. He is the hunter and she is the prey. And he has always gotten his prey.
The Everglades are not a place you want to be wandering around in alone for a few nights, especially when you don't know exactly where you are. There are lots of dangerous things out there to watch out for like poisonous snakes, alligators of all sizes and other wild creatures such as panthers that would happily eat you. But when you've got men chasing you with guns who've already killed at least one person right in front of you, you know you’re in trouble.
Grace is living with her Grandmother Birdee while her mom tries to sell their home in North Carolina. They will be relocating to Florida to be closer to Birdee now that Grace's father has died. While out with Birdee, her friend Rex and his nephew Dylan, Grace is invited to meet Sadie, another teen about Grace's age. She happens to be the mayor's daughter and an animal activist. Dylan and Grace meet up with Sadie at the protest Sadie has organized at a roadside zoo. There is a lot of media attention at this event and without thinking, Grace stands up in support of the animals also as their welfare is a cause dear to her heart. Unfortunately one of the reasons she is staying in Florida is to remain hidden from the man who killed her father and is still on the loose.
I liked that each chapter started off with a survival skill. You never know when those skills will come in handy and having read them, maybe they will make a difference in someone's life. Plus it gave the reader an idea of what might be coming up that would be related in that chapter.
A couple of the scenes were a little gruesome, though not necessarily gory. I think they needed to be written the way they did, and were by no means were they overdone. Animals do what animals do. It's a fact of life. If you are going to fight with knives, sometimes someone is going to get hurt. Also a fact of life.
Unstoppable read okay as a stand-alone novel, but it would have been much better if I had read the book that came before it as some of the material from the previous book was referenced in this novel.
I found it rather oddly miraculous that Mo, Grace's boyfriend should happen to find her just in the nick of time in a national park of 750,000 acres. I wonder what the odds are on that would be?
Overall though, I thought that Unstoppable was a fast-paced, suspenseful novel with quite a number of exciting twists and turns in the plot. It had everything from romance to murder to animal conservation and friendship. I gave Unstoppable 4 stars out of 5. I would definitely recommend this book to others who enjoy young adult suspenseful novels.
Thank you to the author for providing a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. A positive opinion was not required. All thoughts are my own.
This is the third and final installment of the Nature of Grace series. Grace is living in Florida with her grandmother, Birdie, after her father was killed in the last book. Her mother is still in North Carolina trying to sell the house and thought Grace would be safer in Florida. Al, the man who killed her father, is still on the loose and he blames Grace for the death of his sister.
Grace is bored in Florida and doesn’t really want to be there. She misses her boyfriend Mo and hasn’t made many friends. The one friend she does have, Dylan, takes her to a protest where he is meeting his girlfriend. Sadie is an animal rights activist and she and Grace hit it off right away. They protest Uncle Bob’s Roadside Zoo and become quick friends.
Later that day the three friends find a Florida panther hurt in the woods. They take it home to nurse it back to health but the panther escapes and runs away. Grace thinks it may have gone back to Uncle Bob’s and so she returns to the horrible roadside zoo. The only problem is, Uncle Bob doesn’t want her poking around his zoo. In fact, he’ll do just about anything from preventing her from looking at his animals…even kidnapping her.
Now Grace, Dylan, and Sadie are in the Everglades running for their lives. Their are men hunting them and no one ever leaves alive. Will Grace be able to make it to safety? Will Dylan and Sadie survive?
This is a great ending to a suspenseful young adult trilogy. Grace is still the same strong teenager advocating for animals. She wants to make sure the animals are safe and are coming to no harm. She is head strong and often won’t take no for an answer. Unfortunately, this tends to have dire consequences in this book. She’s also fiercely loyal to her friends.
While Dylan and Sadie are supporting characters, they are both also strong characters. Their love for each other is evident and together they are a force to be reckoned with. When Grace runs off to save the panther they are close on her heels wanting to help her.
I really like the fast pace of the book and the depth of the characters. The only character I had trouble with was Mo. I really, really like him and his character, but he’s not believable as a 17 year old. If he were 20 or 21 his character would be much more believable.
Overall this was a great ending to a fun series. I would recommend it to anyone who likes thrillers and suspense novels.
Unstoppable, the third book in the Nature of Grace series, keeps up the excitement -- even more than the first two books (Untraceable and Uncontrollable).
Grace is now living in Florida, in the Everglades, with her grandmother. Her grandmother has a boyfriend who has a nephew, Dylan. Dylan has a girlfriend, Sadie.
Sadie is an activist. Her cause is to try to rid Florida of its many roadside zoos, where animals are held under the most horrible circumstances. So she stages a protest. Grace attends the protest, and on the way home finds a Florida panther that is badly injured and has chains around its neck. She, of course, brings the panther home.
This starts what turns out to be a harrowing, exciting, thrilling, dangerous, and heart-stopping adventure that I don't want to say too much about. Suffice it to say that Grace, Dylan, and Sadie get into some serious trouble and their lives are threatened. Johannes is not afraid to show us some very cruel ways for humans to die, as well as cruelty to animals. The thrill factor of Unstoppable is the strongest point of the book. This is the definition of "a page turner."
It's easy to get wrapped up in Unstoppable. That also makes it easier to overlook the extremely STUPID decisions that were made at times. Not just the teens, either. Sometimes what the adults do just doesn't make sense. But, adventure lovers will be willing to overlook these issues for the sake of the action.
Unstoppable would work as a stand alone, although the first two books were even better in my opinion, and there are references to these stories in Unstoppable. And, we get a visit from some beloved characters from the earlier books too.
Grace is a feisty character that, while making impulsive decisions, will keep your heart pounding. And, you will love her because of her sincere love for all animals.
In this final Nature of Grace book, Grace is living with her grandmother while her mother sells their house. Her mom decided they needed a fresh start and moving was the solution. Plus Grace’s safety is questionable. So Grace may never see her childhood home again and she misses Mo. She meets Sadie who is on a mission to close down roadside zoos. Grace likes her instantly and Dylan is obviously in love with her. They become friends quickly. They end up saving a Florida panther from that roadside zoo. However Bob, the owner, gets his revenge. Grace, Dylan and Sadie end up running for their lives in the Everglades. Grace has to rely on the knowledge her father taught her as she encounters the danger of the swamps and the men chasing her and her friends. Her fear almost is overwhelming but her strength and courage has to get her through and save her friends. This is the end of Grace’s story. It was a crazy ride. That poor girl walked into so much danger just trying to save animals. I felt sorry for her. She lost her dad and now lost her childhood home. Sent to live with her grandmother and not getting to see Mo. She is scared and lonely. Her love for animals gets her in another situation. There are some sick people in her world. I could not believe how the storyline evolved. It was surprising. Those men, the author created, were crazy. The situations that Grace finds herself are full of suspense. I find her brave and a strong character. I really like her compassion and the battle she fights. She is a great heroine. I also like her relationship with Mo. They have been together from the beginning. Love them together. It was a great ending to a fabulous series. I give this book a 4 out of 5.
SPOILER ALERT!!! Kindle edition What a crazy, good, sad, happy, dark adventure in this book. It took me a few days to digest it before I could write this. First of all, at the end of the last book Grace & Mo are finally back together. After almost getting killed, yet again, Mo tells Grace that he won't leave her side again. So WTF? The beginning of this book has them separated again & Grace has even moved to Florida. What??? Grace is supposed to be in hiding from Al. So what does she do? Goes to an cruelty to animals protest at a zoo where the Mayor's daughter, Sadie, is protesting too. National exposure TV, hello? Then they try to help an injured panther & end up getting kidnapped by the very people they're protesting against. This is where the book took a crazy, sadistic turn for the worse. The kidnappers will let them go but they will be hunted not only by the kidnappers but also by wild crossbred animals whose only food is dead people. Just SICK! It was really hard to read this part of the book without wanting to throw up. Grace's friend, Dylan, sacrifices himself so Grace & Sadie can escape & live. Mo finally shows up after seeing Grace's face on the news about the protest. What do they think is a good idea next? Go back to the psycho zoo to see if they can still save the injured panther. Grace goes to the back of the zoo alone because Mo is on the phone & reception is bad. What do you think happens? Al is in back & takes Grace hostage. Grace escapes & Al finally dies. Mo & Grace plan their happily ever after. Crazy book, great series.

Grace has been through a lot of emotions and adventures in the first two books. So Grace's mom, and Grandma Birdie decide that she should stay at Grandma Birdie's place in the Everglades, when her mom searches for a new house. Grace quickly becomes friends with Dylan, and his girlfriend, Sadie. I really liked how Grace finally has new friends in this book, I always thought she needed better friends because her old friends were meaning my opinion. Grace is out of her element, because she is living in the Florida Everglades, and dealing with roadside zoos, which she had never dealt with before. It was interesting how Grace evolved to fit her new surroundings. She had to deal with all the new animals in the Everglades, and try to survive an crazy man with huge (pet) liger. This is a thriller, so there are deaths in this book, just to warn you. I really enjoyed how Grace's comfort zone is tested in the Everglades. With the crazy man hunt game in the Everglades, you will not stop reading until you reach the end of the book! I read this book in one sitting! The third book in this series will not disappoint you! SO go buy it, especially if you read the first two books! If you have not read the first two books: Untraceable( #1), and Uncontrollable( #2), I highly recommend you read those books first!
Wow! Pardon the pun, but SR Johannes is Unstoppable! Once again this author has delivered a page turning frenzy with one thrill after the other! This book is definitely my favourite of the series so far, which is a pretty high compliment coming from me, as I loved every installment so far. This is one of those rare books that I wish I could give an extra star to, just because it's that much more awesome than some other books I've rated 5 stars.
Within the course of these pages, Grace goes from a girl that's fighting with a feisty parrot to a warrior that is sucking venom out of a friend's leg and surviving being attacked by not one, not two, but THREE men that are trying to kill her. Whoa! That's a lot to take in, yet Grace works through each conflict with a strength that is uncommonly found in a teenager.
Once again, Birdee is freaking amazing. She's one of my favourite characters out of all the books I've read. She's so quirky that I doubt I would have been able to *not* fall in love with her. I also grew to love a new character in the series, Sadie. I'm happy for Grace to have become such great friends with another nature-oriented gal, even if their friendship was forged in the midst of them battling for their lives.
Overall, a fantastic read that I wasn't able to put down!
Grace’s life has been uprooted from her family home to Florida to live with her grandma Birdie. After everything that’s happened since he dad went missing Grace is ready to move on with her life, only she isn’t sure how. When her only friends girlfriend begins protesting roadside zoos and lands Grace on national TV she knows she’s in trouble, she just doesn’t know how much. Now Grace and her friends are running for their lives as hunters begin hunting them.
I really enjoyed the other two books in this series so when I hear another book was coming out I knew I had to read this one. I love the messages in S.R. Johannes books because it’s about preserving the life we have here and how people can get hurt in the process.
That being said I felt this book was a huge letdown in comparison to the other books in this series. I felt the entire story was rushed and I didn’t get to read the full depth of emotions or really process what was happening until the book was over since it went by in such a rush.
The writing was still great and I still loved the characters. Sassy Grace fighting to save everyone and her amazing family plus sexy Mo. I was a tad upset they just cut out her best friend and would have been love interest but I guess people move on.
All and all the message is a great addition to this series.
This is the final book in the Nature of Grace series and I am kind of sad. I am going to miss spunky Grace Wells, but good for her because she has been through more in three books than most in a lifetime! She needs a break! Unstoppable finds Grace living/hiding out at her grandmother, Birdies, house in the Everglades, while her mother tries to sell their house in smokies to relocate, and Mo and Sweeney continue to search for Al. With a new setting comes new characters and new critters. I really enjoyed all three of these books. At times the plot was a little predictable, but it still kept be captivated even though I was pretty sure I knew what was coming, and even when I was right I wasn't let down. The author did a good job making me feel connected to the characters, and really, really hate the bad guys. I really relate to Grace's love for animals, and often times I feel more sympathetic to animals than humans, so I totally understood a lot of her feelings and emotions she struggled with. I would recommend these books to anyone, even adults, you just got to keep in mind the target audience, too many people give YA too harsh criticism because they forget they are not Adult books.
I love Grace. She is such a spunky little thing. This series is exciting and suspenseful with lots of twists and turns. If you enjoy the outdoors, these books have it all: the mountains, the Everglades, bears, snakes, alligators, mountain lions and even a sweet little momma monkey. Grace has been brought up to respect nature and to love animals - even those that could possibly eat her. Grace has learned all kinds of survival skills which, of course, she has to use in the situations she gets herself in. She is smart, resourceful and very brave. Over the three books, she loses people - her father and some of her friends, but she also finds new friends who she connects with immediately. She is a conservationist who brings animal abuse to the attention of us all. As I said before, these books are very exciting. There are also relationships, but not mushy ones. Things are implied, but unless your imagination goes there, you won't blush too much. A great book for teenagers and young adults who enjoy nature and preserving our wildlife.
Unstoppable was a fast paced, action filled book. It was over way too quickly. Being an outdoor lover, I easily fell in love with the outdoorsy nature of these books and the conservation that is added throughout. You don't see these outdoor type books often enough these days. I think that is what draws me to these books.
Grace is a little too impulsive and there are times I want to tie her up, just to make her stop for two seconds before running off wildly into danger as she is so good at doing. In reality, however, she is a great character. I love Mo, always to her rescue, her knight in shining armor, or should I say ranger in shining armor? I gotta admit, the bird stole the show for me. Love, love, loved the bird in the book. What a crack up and I am pretty sure I would have reacted the same way Grace does to him. Hard not to love the little nuisance.
This is a great series to check out if your looking for a change of pace from your typical reads. Highly recommend them.
SR Johannes knows exactly how to get your blood pumping while reading her books. In this third installment of the Nature of Grace series, I found myself gasping IN PUBLIC at some of her scenes. The book is that thrilling. Johannes has mastered the suspense factor, and all along showing her readers the importance of fighting for animal rights. Readers will root for Grace, bite their nails because of a liger, hold their breaths when faced with aligators, and shed a tear for a little monkey. And let's not forget the humans. All around well-written three-dimensional characters.
I really enjoyed reading this series, and I recommend it to fans of young adult thrillers, and of course to animal lovers everywhere.
I love Grace's endurance to get through all the traumatic events that have occurred in this series. She is very head strong and not afraid of most things. Grace has so much strength and love for family, friends, nature, and wildlife along with the will of survival. In this story you will also find heartache, loss, and love, couldn't ask for more. I really loved how this book also makes a person aware of the animal cruelty that is out there and gives a lot of info on it as well.
This book was a sad book. So many people died and so many animals died. I was so happy when most of the bad guys died but than some of the good guys had to die also. It was a really sad story and I was so looking forward to the series coming to a close so I could see how it all played out. I liked this book the most out of all of them. Probably because of all the new things. Like the new scene, new charterers and new adventures.

This was a nice change of scenery from the first two books. I did not know that Florida had their own species of panther. That is something I may need to look up later.
This one had more suspense and action sequences that kept me from taking long pauses.
I'm glad that the conflict with Al was able to be concluded.
This may be trilogy cliche, but book one, "Untraceable," is still my favorite.
Rating 3.5 - While I have found this series interesting. Grace upsets me when she goes off by herself. It is amazing that she isn't dead and that's probably because she is the main character. Yet I'm upset as who does die in this book. But overall the ending is great. I believe this series might continue and I might be interested to see what Grace does yet again to risk her life and those around her.
Two and a half stars. We are supposed to believe that killing an animal was more traumatic then killing a human being. That's my biggest beef, really? Also, the story stretched even my imagination. At some point in the story, the main character is bitten on the arm and it is never mentioned as bothering her again. Multiple injuries, she takes them in stride and still manages to struggle with her nemesis. Amazing, but unrealistic and unbelievable.
This third installment was a quick enjoyable read. Although, I will admit I did enjoy the first two books a bit more.
Grace is a strong female character, with a lot of conviction. Overall, a great character for young girls to connect to. and once again a great book for the animal lovers. I will definitely be handing this one over to my young teen daughter to devour.
LOVED IT!!!!!!! I LOVED IT SO MUCH I CAN'T EVEN DESCRIBE IT. It was a great end to the series, although I wish there were just a few more romantic scenes, but I'm a romance freak, so don't let that comment reflect poorly on the whole book, or even series. It has plenty of romance. Just a lovely, all around, well written series and novel. :)
Johannes really needs to get a new publisher or something, I enjoy her work but it always comes out way late and there is almost never any solid information on the books and when they will actually be released. Disappointing.
