Dark and disturbing, but deliciously suspenseful

Book 1:

Couldn't put it down!

Wow- this one reached out and grabbed me!

Early thoughts on Gabe:
-I hate Gabe
-I REALLY hate Gabe
-Gabe is sick in the head
-And sadistic as hell. And totally insane.
-“Suck my cock. I want you to get creative. Taste me. Explore me. But don’t bite me or I’ll bash your fucking skull in,” I hiss out the last part before turning my charm back on. Boy, I sure hope Gabe gets hit by a bus. But doesn't die right away. No, he should instead live out his remaining miserable existence confined to a bed with breathing and feeding tubes, unable to move or speak, but completely aware of his surroundings.

When War was introduced I was so relieved that he wouldn't be a sadistic psycho like Gabe, or heaven forbid, even worse than Gabe. Poor Baylee- she really had a hideous existence there for a couple of weeks. Gabe selling her was legit the best thing that could have happened because it got her away from him.

I'm still perplexed by the unsolved mysteries in this book. I won't get into it because spoilers, but... I need answers! After stopping mid-series a couple of times with recent reads I'm thrilled to have found a book that kept me frantically reading, and has me rabid for the next one.

That said, the beginning is dark as hell. I wouldn't have been able to handle too much more of that so I'm glad the clouds later parted, and the sun shined down and gave us War.

Triggers: physical abuse/whipping of a minor, violent non-consent with a minor.

Book 2:

I love this series!

It is dark. It is depraved. It is suspenseful. It keeps me on the edge of my seat. I can't read it fast enough.
And I read pretty fast, folks.
These characters are so thoroughly fleshed out, these back stories so complete. I can't fathom the amount of research and outlining it took for the author to finish this series. After only book two my mind is blown.
I can't put these books down. It is seriously impacting the productivity in my life.
This book has our poor Baylee being caught between two crazy men while trying to figure out the mystery of what happened to her father. It is written as though each of the villains love her in their own ways, but it is an unhealthy love that comes across as something else. Something dark and dangerous that would cause her nothing but pain and misery until it eventually killed her. In a sick twist each thought they could "save" her from the other. That was truly interesting to read, the dynamic between Baylee and the two villains.

I'm definitely skipping off to read book three. If you made it through book one you can handle this one. It still has triggers, but it isn't nearly as upsetting as book one.

TRIGGERS: physical violence, non-consent.

Book 3:

So many feelings

I keep starting and stopping in trying to write this review. My feelings are all over the place. Let's start with I wouldn't personally classify this particular book as a dark romance, but more an erotic thriller. I don't believe either of the main characters are emotionally or mentally capable of love. I think they codependent, and insane. So, with that I can't really consider it a romance of any kind.
This book was just as crazy as its two main characters. The violence and depravity seen in the previous books is NOTHING compared to this one. But, oddly enough, the bulk of the depravity in this one is consensual, so that's new. Not all of it, mind you- but, the bulk of it. But the violence? Jesus. Level 10, and "American Psycho"-style disturbing. Hannah... Hannah doesn't need a boyfriend. She needs to be locked up somewhere for the criminally insane. Gabe just plain needs to be locked up anywhere where he can't hurt people anymore. These two don't have a beautiful story. There is nothing appealing about them coming together. It's a joining of two deadly hurricanes. Two sadistic sociopaths with serious jealousy issues. No good can come of it. And no good did come of it.
This book had me on the edge of my seat, as did the previous ones. I was sort of expecting some kind of romance somewhere in the book, somehow. The only hint of romance was in the epilogue-style final chapter which, granted, did pique my interest. I am definitely going to continue on to book 4, no question.

I do recommend this series thus far, but with the disclaimer that I found book 3 to be an erotic thriller.

Triggers: violence, non-consent

I think I need to clean my brain out with some bleach.
This was insane and disturbing. There was a lot that left me uncomfortable and in shock.
I want books I read to inspire emotion whether the feelings are positive or negative. Or that are written in a way that grabs your attention. This certainly accomplished those things. With that said, this is not a likable story with likable things happening.
This is not for the faint hearted. The first book I’m pretty sure is banned; you can’t buy it on it’s own except from the author, or at the time of writing this in the books 1-3 bundle. K. Webster writes an author's note and disclaimer at the beginning of each, pay attention to those. Though the content of the books is next level dark and at times over the top, the writing is still effective at creating intense reactions. I'm may not star/rate this because I really don't know what to put.
This is dark, this is twisted, this is awful.
Know what your limits are when reading and proceed with caution.

#1 This is War, Baby: The book starts out awful. I hate Gabe with the passion of a thousand suns and more. It’s a lot to get through. It left me horrified. Also, I hate cucumbers now.
The author writes from multiple perspectives. One of them is War’s. The writing was quite unique. I had never seen anything like it because of the types of issues that his character has to deal with. It was interesting to see his perspective.
I think K. Webster has a good ability to write from multiple POV’s, some unexpected and different.
The hero and heroine, War and Baylee--dare I say it--have some quite tender moments in the book. Overall the book and it’s premise is a lot to stomach, but Baylee and War do have an incredible and intense love story. Beyond the gritty and twisted things in the book there was something moving about them.
#2 This is Love, Baby: It kind of went downhill. What made book 1 worthwhile was the love between Baylee and War. Here they are forced apart. Instead we are left to the whims of two other demented individuals, Gabe and Brandon. I did not like it.
#3 This Isn’t Over, Baby: I hated it. So much. The author says that even villains need love before the book starts. And that’s exactly what she does here.Gabe (remember the scourge of the earth from books 1-2) and Hannah. Two absolute psychos in love. In lust. In whatever toxic sort of obsession they have. That’s the story.
You won’t be missing out if you don’t read this one. In fact, I don’t think you really need to at all.

Its fiction, the contents and premise of which is terrible and dark.
I’m sure there’s more I could say and a lot I left unsaid. If you do read it, be ready for a wild ride.

OMG is all I can say.

Only K Webster can write a story that makes you fall in love the monster and beg for more. The twists and turns keep you reading until you’ve devoured it all.

Book One:

This book took me on a tornado of feelings!
I loved it! It’s dark and dirty.
And I finally am in on all the cucumber innuendoes . 🥒 😂

Baylee gets kidnapped by someone close to her. He ends up claiming he loves her but also has a plan to temporarily sell her for money. During their time together, he “trains” her and that’s when the cucumbers come out to play.
This book is full of non/con. I mean, it’s pretty dark.

Then Baylee goes up for auction and is bought by one of the most interesting characters, War.
He has severe OCD, mental health issues that includes fear of germs and obsessed with counting everything…
He didn’t buy Baylee for sex. He simply wanted company.
“My purchasing of this girl, illegal or not, has shone a glimmer of light into the darkness which is my world. One tiny ray of hope. And I cling to it desperately. She’s my hope. I absolutely must convince her to stay.”

They develop a friendship of sorts. Baylee is desperate to find out what’s going with her parents and the outside life, War tries to help her without letting her run away.

Through friendship comes love. Overtime War loses himself in Baylee… even if it’s for a few minutes. She allows him to relax for a brief moment.
“But you are like a miracle drug, Bay. For some reason, I don’t obsess over numbers and germs and patterns. Each time you open your mouth, I’m fixated on your words. I’m drawn to the way you say them. When I’m around you, I don’t obsess over my problems because I obsess over you.”

This book shows mental health well in my opinion. War isn’t magically cured by pussy.
He’s a very flawed man.

This book is also a bit dark. Quite a bit of triggers.

It does leave off on a cliffhanger.
This series is complete so you CAN head straight in to book two.

🥒🥒🥒🥒🥒🥒🥒🥒

Book Two:

Book two leaves off right where book one ends.
War got shot by Baylee’s original capture. He meant what he said when he told her selling her was only temporary. And now he’s back.
Bringing her back to the cabin that haunts her nightmares, Baylee gets into survival mode.
Although soon, a third man enters the story - her high school ex - boyfriend.

This book was nuts!
K. Webster created evil where you dosing think it was and made the Villian - the better guy?!

It was a race and non stop action to keep hope that Baylee will reunite with the man she fell in love with.

This book has an adorable HEA for the lasting couple and also opens up for a side character to continue on with his story.
I’m highly intrigued!

🥒🥒🥒🥒🥒🥒🥒

War and Baylee’s daughter scares the shit out of me.
I was not expecting this book to be about Hannah…

I’d say this book is pretty taboo. Gabe thinks War and Hannah’s daughter is his biological daughter so he’s always kept a very close eye on her throughout her life. She ends up going to a college party and getting drugged and raped.
Gabe finds her and murders the two boys that violated her.
Things take away return immediately with Hannah finding Gabe attractive and let’s just say the book is really really taboo.
Hannah and Gabe are perfect for each other in the sense that they have no moral compass. Eventually we find out they are not biologically related but stuff still happens before that was found out. 😳

This book is crazy because Hannah makes Gabe look like a saint. A psychopathic saint.
This is a love story. A very very very unconventional love story. Of a man who thought this teenager was his daughter, finding out she’s not his daughter, and falling in love. Hannah has severe mental health issues.
Like Gabe, she is a murderer and doesn’t really have an empathetic bone in her body.

It’s a very very raunchy and smutty book. I really enjoyed it. The epilogue shows who the next book is about and I’m more excited for these characters!

K Webster is an amazing author. These books will make you have so many emotions because Baylee is put through so much during these books. She doesn't give up and succeeds through everything. These are awesome books and I highly recommend, you will love them.

Wow

THIS IS WAR BABY
Ok so how to write a good review for this book without sounding psychologically damaged. This book has a lot of darkness, but also a lot of beauty. War and Baylee’s love is beautiful. Gabe is dark and sick, War’s past is very dark and damaged. But the reason I could keep reading is all down to K Webster. I have a few books I would put as no1 top read, all have different reasons. But for best writer K Webster has it hands down, she’s written it as you can read and get through all the darkness because you know light is at the other end, her words are written perfectly together (I’m not explaining right on how amazing the writing is, you will have to read it for yourself to find out.) If you have a strong stomach then give this book a read, I read it in a day, and I haven’t done that in a very long time. Ok no more review I have to get back to the second book in the series.

THIS IS LOVE BABY
This book I found frustrating, not because it was Rubish, u just couldn’t read fast enough. There was so many twists and turns in this book. My favourite character is War, I want to cry for him, I want to fight his demons, I want to love him. Then at the very end Gabe survived, omg. Now I do have to say I’m unsure now about the third book as Gabe surviving all of that is maybe a little OTT, I’ll just have to wait and see. So book three here I come.

THIS ISNT OVER BABY
Another great read. I want to start by disagreeing with some readers reviews on mental health. Hannah clearly has problems, and some readers have said how she cant blame her parents for her illness because their problems were circumstantial, not genetic. But I have to say that yes bad things happened to them which caused their mental issues, but it is also genetic as you can argue that genetically their predisposed to some form of mental issue, which is why, War mainly, was the way he was. Just like his mother was when she killed herself after loosing a child. (I want to say I lost my sister when she was 5 years old so I mean no disrespect in my comments) a lot of mothers loose children and don’t commit suicide because of this tragedy. So was he’s mother predisposed to having a mental illness for her to do this. I hope my point is made that Hannah’s illness could be genetic. Lastly this was a good read lol. I’m off to book 4

This Is War, Baby

Love this war and peace! 4 stars

Wow, what did I just read?! I felt like I was on a crazy train, and I don’t want it to stop! The warning is correct that this is a dark read, and I really did feel like I needed a flashlight to see in the dark and someone to hold my hand! Baylee was so strong, and I admired her so much. I am not sure what to say about Gabe except to say he reluctantly intrigues me, and I am not sure I want to admit to that much! War, oh, my sweet War. Baylee was the light/peace to the darkness in his mind, and it was beautiful. My heart broke for him so many times. I love that Baylee accepted all of his demons and loved him and wanted to find a way to help him. This ends on a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to see what happens next! This is my first read by this author, but it will not be my last.

This Is Love, Baby

Love this love story! 5 stars

If I thought the first book was a crazy train, then this book was even more of a crazy train ride! There were so many intense moments and shocking twists and turns that I read this in one sitting! Poor Baylee goes through so much in this book, and I felt her pain. But she was smart and strong, and there was light and love at the end of the dark tunnel. Then once I understood what was happening in the epilogue, I said out loud to an empty room, “Noooooooo!” This author set up a dangerous and intense 3rd book, and I can’t wait to read it!

This Isn’t Over, Baby

Thank goodness this book isn’t over! 5 stars

This book did not start out the way I thought it would, and I loved that! Then it did get dangerous and intense plus I questioned my sanity and morals! What kind of boundary did I cross?! Then the truth is revealed, and a boundary was not crossed. I can’t say anymore than that and know this is a vague review, but it would spoil the story. This book and series took me on a crazy train, intense, emotional ride that absolutely fascinated me and that I loved!

A horrific is saga of human trafficking and love

Got to be honest the first part of this book wasn't great, I don't mean the writing I meant the subject matter, it was uncomfortable reading. I couldn't understand why bay would get turned on to the abuse. He was a predator of the worst kind and I wanted him to suffer.
The story moved on and introduced a new character to the mix, war who was delicious with all his quirks, his character was just so deep. The story moved on again and reintroduced an earlier character who given his relationship with bay had steered off the righteous path and wanted his prize.
The story twisted and turned and bay is beaten not just physically but emotionally too.
The Last book was just unnearving and disturbing, bay's daughter was very troubled and again it was a very uncomfortable situation. She was clearly traumatised and needed help but was preyed upon by a predator of such depravity it was sickening.

This was really good, sad and emotional. You understand every characters point of view and perspective. They are so well written they have a pulse and they leap off the page.
I was completely engrossed but also feel robbed as there are so many unanswered questions.

It contains strong sexual situations, rape, abuse, human trafficking, violence, crime, mental illness, sexual predators and betrayal.

It's uncomfortable and very dark but was absolutely brilliant.

This is sufficiently disturbing. I mean stomach twisting, skin crawling , chills inducing kind of disturbing.

It's amazingly cathartic.

K dug deep to produce this disgustingly entertaining thing. It's absolutely fantastic.

It's like an episode from the Discover ID Channel. Psychopath galore with romance sprinkled on like a toxic little birthday cake.

I sympathized for Baylee.
I empathized with Warren.
I, unfortunately, began to become overly intrigued with Gabriel ....that is a monster with a determination I have never and wish to never encounter.
And, last but not least, I feared the ever loving shit out of Hannah....she's probably the darkest character in this little boxset.

Peace only lasts for a short time.
War is always around the corner.

I can't wait to see what other crazy this series will bring.

War & Peace.....

....I have read this series a few times now, and still it intrigues me every single time!
There is just so much to take in, it truly is mind-boggling!

I can't say much because I don't want to risk a spoiler but I will say this....
...this book/series is awesome! It will drag you in to the sick and twisted world of War, Peace and Gabe! Yet, in amongst the angst, the fear, the nuttiness, the twists and turns, the passion and the omw steaminess, is a love story and it's sweet and pure and perfect - but believe me when I say it's not a sweet, pure and perfect path to get there!!!

War & Peace, I adore you guys..

Gabe, your twisted man! But somehow, I kinda like you...but my oh my, have you found your match!

An amazing series

Can’t believe what I just read!

Where do I start?! This series blew me away. I can’t get over how many twists and turns were woven into these books. I bought this series based on the recommendation of a friend who said it was unreal. They are completely correct. From the very first page in the very first book, I was entranced. The story of War, Baylee and Gabe kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. Then later on Hannah comes into the mix. I just can’t tell you how unbelievably great this series is. I can’t possibly even try to explain how unreal this is. Please, do yourself a favor and read this boxset if Books1-3. Now onto Book 4!

One of the most intense, incredible, deliciously twisted collections I've ever read. This series had me wrapped around its finger from page 1 and never let me go. I cannot wait to finish the rest of this series! Get ready to be swept up into the world of Baylee and the men who one way or another obsess over her. This series is not for those with sensitivity to sexual violence as it does contain it.If you do not have these sensitivities I highly suggest you read this!!With scenes that catch your breath, leave you sweating, and in tears this collection is one you won't want to put down. You'll also never eat a salad again lmao I'm in love with War!😍😍

Wth

I had read a lot of good things about this book in a group a while back so I thought I’d give it a shot. The first book was really good!! Loved it!!! But the second and third one, wtf happened?! It just wasn’t good. It didn’t make any sense to me. After the first book ended I was excited because I there were so many different ways it could’ve gone and that was the worst one. And a total waste of time. And the third book... WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HELL?!?! That’s all I gotta say about that one. Very very disappointed.

A wild ride

This book was a wild nutty ride of lunacy and suspense and drama and I loved every minute of it and I can't wait to read the other books in the series. This book Series is not for the fate of heart If Dubious consent violence and violent sexual themes Trigger you then this is not the book for you and the author gives fair warning at the beginning So you know what you're going into when you're reading this book. I personally enjoyed this Darker book and it was an interesting read that kept me on the edge of my seat.

Absorbing, provoking and riveting.

War & Peace Series: Books 1-3 are daring, absorbing, intense, spellbinding, unconventional, passionate, provoking, tragic , taboo, unpredictable, well-paced and well-written.

Once in a while, you read a story that you know is going to stay with you for always; this is one of those stories.

Fantastic, Spellbinding Read

Dark subject matter, well written and impossible to put down. There are some many twist and turns and WTH moments. The charecters are flawed and you will love to hate. Can't wait to start book 4. Just told my husband thus should be a movie or miniseries.

Great until...

I devoured the first two books but when it came to the third, well, that book was a tragic, disappointing nose-dive and it officially joined the handful of books I couldn’t finish.

I adore K Webster and will keep reading her books but the direction she took with the third book did not resonate with me at all.

Wow, K. Webster went to hell and back in these three books. They are dark, deranged, sick, yet keep you coming back for more! You can't help yourself. There is some light in the dark, and it is so worth reading to find it. This series touches on so many different issues mixing them to build one hell of a story. Can't wait to get into book4
