Acting on Temptation

I don't even know what to think of this story. I wanted to read some short stories, because Lawe just took a lot out of me.

This was a little snack of a story. Syx is currently a travel assistant for famous singer Amiyah. Unfortunately Syx catches her in a compromising situation with someone other than her husband. Syx is in shock because Trough is the epitome of a perfect husband and she can't wrap her brain around why Amiyah would be unfaithful. Later that day the stars seem to align, wait do they align for cheating🤔. Anyway, they align and Trough decides he is going to finally act on the attraction, the temptation he had been feeling for Syx. After realizing his wife.....was unloyal he wanted to drown in Syx. They spend one passionate night together and the story ends. Chilllle I went in knowing this was barely 60 pages and now I'm stressed because what....I need more.

Normally, I'm not the biggest fan of this particular trope, but I've got to admit, seeing Syx triumph in the end was a real highlight. I'm actually excited to dive into the next book in the series right away.

short and sweet
Book 1: Ok this is my first read by Ms. Huffington…I am not a big fan of short stories but I guess I will need to jump on the bandwagon with Ms. Grey since I see that she like to do series in between novels. This one is really good it really left me craving more from Syx and Trough. Syx was lifted a flight to NY to spend New Years with her sister. I am under the impression that his trip changed Syx’s life in more ways than one! This really isn’t much of a review because I need more to go off on lol. One to the next book of the series!

Book 2: I’m a little confused as to what Trough is wanting at this point! He is a ball of mystery that starts to unravel and then boom the story is over! I’m also still trying to figure out Syx’s character’s personality. The issue with novellas and novelettes is that they’re really quick to the point and could lack some character development. I believe the next in the series is a novel. Maybe this is what this all leads to up to.

If these authors don't stop with these novellas!!!😁😁😁 Now that that's outta the way, Grey Huffington is a treasure. Her style of writing, her descriptive phrasing, is so different, but once you crack the code, you'll love it for its uniqueness. Couple that with A plus storytelling and it's easy to discern why I consider her as one of my favorite authors out there.

Talk about a situationship!!

"Syx in the City Book 2 is a wild ride! Syx, girl, just give in already—Trough is clearly into you, flaws and all. I love how he's quietly backing her dreams while respecting her hustle. Yeah, they started off on the wrong foot, but Trough's intentions are crystal clear. Syx is still wrestling with herself, though. And that ending? Talk about a cliffhanger! I'm so ready for Book 3,

Even though this book was short, it was such a good one.

I usually don’t like the cheating trope but his was justified and plus he had been crushing on her even though he had a wife. I’m excited to see where this relationship goes and to see what happens between Syx and Trough.
I love their names through, Syx and Sevyn, too cute!

On to book 2 though.

This is my first introduction into Grey’s work. I have been meaning to read Luca, but I wanted to start off with novella to become more familiar with her pen game and this short and sweet story was perfect!

We have spice, mess, and emotions honey! There is enough background of the characters (Syx and Trough) that you are invested and look forward to continue the series.

No thanks

I like a little less drama in novellas. There was only about 55 pages of actual content. With a story that short I want a meet cute, great sex and an I'll see you later or I'll see you never. I personally believe there is no place for drama in a short read unless it happens off page prior to the events of the story. Reading the synopsis, I thought that I was getting some ethical non monogamy or a threesome at the very least but it was nothing like that.

Also, how does Syx think she's able to take the high road when she did the exact same thing that she was super judgmental about only hours earlier? Because she did it second? Girl, you're still sleeping with someone's husband like that man was sleeping with someone's wife. All of those so called morals went out the door when it was something she wanted. If he was such a good man then he would have waited until he was free to pursue something else. But guess what, there's no time for that kinda development in 50 pages. I just can't stand how they think they are the good guys in this scenario. "Oh she lost a good one..." 😒 I like her writing style and will try something else but I have no desire to read 5 other 50 page reads about how they plan to justify why their lust turned love should thrive or any of the other unnecessary drama that will ensue.

Situationship continues

Syx is now officially living in New York City. She is feeling unsettled after the craziness with her previous employer. She has yet to see him after she retrieved her things, but it hasn't stopped Trough from being on her mind. Unbeknownst to her , he is still very much thinking about her. So much so that he has placed her designs in hands that may never have seen them. Syx is slowly building clientele for a business she didn't know she had.

Jury is still out on if I like Trough. He definitely seems to have a good heart, but I don't like how he has Syx wrapped in this situationship. Mind you she is grown, but he is older and is very much in tune with her feelings. He is also in tune with her body...chillle. The way this ended I'm hella concerned with how this will all impact Syx.

Grey....you could've just made this a full book 😒

Conflicted Situationship

I wanted to enjoy “Syx and the City”, but infidelity isn’t entertainment. I acknowledge this novella is a byproduct of the Author’s artistic expression. However the web of deception could/should have mitigated with a note, text message, voicemail or some other intermediary “I know your indiscretions.” This type of situationship lead to prison sentence or a pine box. Two wrongs (both his & her’s) don’t make right righteousness. …Unnecessarily messy! …Conflicted🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤨‼️

Whew

This very, very short story is good. I'm tired of these shorts tho. I need a 500 page novel. Lol. Syx is working my nerves. This man wants all of you and you being stubborn. I'm so tired of that. Not just this story, but all stories. The character know they want the other character. Just go for it and stop dragging. Good read. I need much more.

Syx is a travel assistant to a famous vocalist named Amiyah. Since she is the travel assistant, she lives in Amiyah and her husband's house. She walks in on her boss with her backup singer. 🫡
Grey packed a lot into this novelette! Can’t wait to read the next book.

Onto Book 3

Trough and Syx's connection is deeper than either of them ever imagined or intended for it to be. I understand Syx's hesitation when it comes to Trough.

Good continuation of story. Trough was serious with his plans for Syx. Storyline had me completing this one quicker than the previous. That ending has me looking forward to see what happens next

After I finished reading Unearth Me, I couldn't wait to download The Situationships Series. That was the best thing I did that Saturday morning, and it helped get me out of a reading slump that I was struggling with. I love Grey's writing style. The way she can make her hero and heroine so strong-willed and ruthless but at the same time so tender and compassionate. These two were on an emotional rollercoaster ride with each other, but each time they got together, everything around them stopped or seemed to go completely haywire until they found their groove.

Syx, an aspiring fashion illustrator, is currently Amiyah Mallard's assistant. Trough is Amiyah's husband; due to some unfortunate events that worked out perfectly for Syx and Trough, they were able to hook up on New Year's Eve. Now typically, I'm not too fond of sleeping with a married individual storyline, but this one isn't your typical cheating storyline. Trough proved that he was not going to be taken advantage of, and he wasn't going to let anything stop him from having what he truly wanted, which is Syx. The love these two have for each other is unexplainable the lengths that Trough goes through to ensure the well-being of his and Syx future is telling of the love he has for her. The story also dives into the relationship between Syx sister Sevyn and Trough cousin Ace and their whirlwind love affair.

I finished this five-book novella series on a Saturday because I couldn't put it down. I needed more and I still want more. I loved the interactions the desire between these two couples, and I'm definitely going to keep my eye out for them.

Syx was an assistant to Amiyah, a famous singer and was also infatuated with her husband Trough. When Syx flight was canceled to New York to see her sister for the holidays, Amiyah asked Trough to take her. Fast forward to New Years eve, Syx and her sister went to a club where Syx saw Trough. Trough has been intrigued by Syx for awhile and that night he made his move. They shared a New Years kiss along with great hot sex. When Syx realized the next morning what happened, Trough let her know that he knows about his wife infidelity and she was terminated.
This story was good and had alot of twist to them. This was my first book by this author and I cant wait to read more in this series!!!

Book 2 was much better than book 1, but I must admit I am not here for Syx and Trough’s little situation. I’m trying to figure out how they suddenly have all these deep feelings for one another when in the first book they barely shared two words according to Syx. It’s clearly just lust. Also the fact that her regrets keep coming after she sleeps with him is irritating me.

Oh and don’t get me started on him. Yes, I know his wife cheated, but sir, you been secretly thirsting after this woman since she stepped foot in your house. Makes me question how faithful he truly was to his wife. I can’t wait to see what happens when paparazzi post them photos.

You Never Know Who Sees You.

Grey Huffington cute read. Syx never thought her life would be as it was. Being the best version of herself she was beginning to live as she wanted. An unexpected joy came and Syx took the opportunity to live out her dream. Trough was a man on a mission. He had to play his cards right and when he was able to jump on his plan it fell in place. I would like to see if anything happens with them.🤗🤗🤗🤗
