If you bought this book, I think you were gypped (IMHO).
The advertising blurb promises us, “This information has NOT simply been ‘copied and pasted’ from the first website to pop up, but has been meticulously curated from multiple sources and then compiled into the best reader-friendly format.” What does that even mean, “meticulously curated?” I know what the words mean, but the phrase seems meaningless here.
Every bit of this information is available using any of the popular search engines. You can easily copy-and-paste information from webpages into your personal document. Actually, that’s kind of fun to do and you’d be able to add a little blurb to each title as a reminder of the book’s content. Even that little bit of info isn’t included.
Here’s an example of one entry under the “Rizzoli and Isles Books” heading (and they are all just like this one): The Surgeon (2001) Book 01 in series | 368 pages | Get it NOW! Stars: *0* *1* *2* *3* *4* *5*
If there is an alternative title for the book, it will be listed below the line of stars. And that’s it. The “Get it NOW!” feature is a hypertext link that takes the reader to a page where the book can be purchased. However, there’s a notation in the forward warning readers that links may be broken, and publishers' info can be changed without notice.
The stars on the line below the book info (such as it is) are for the reader to use. Select your own rating by using the highlighting features of your Kindle or other eReader that has the capability.
I reckon if you do not have a word processer, or a cell phone with a Notes app, or access to google docs, then the book may be worth the 99-cents it sells for.
I rated this book 1.5 stars and rounded up. It’s a list. That’s really all it is. The advert on Amazon made it sound like something fabulous that someone had spent a lot of time researching and compiling. As an experienced Word™ documents user, I could have put this together in under 60 minutes using all sorts of Word™ tools. But…I would’ve including a one or two sentence synopsis under each book, maybe listed the main characters, jazzed it up a bit. It still would not have taken a lot of additional time. << Quelle déception >>
