---------------------------------------------

Assistant Cruise Director Millie Sanders-Armati and her new husband, Captain Nic Armati, have just returned from their week-long honeymoon on the tropical island of St. Maarten. Their idyllic week in paradise is quickly forgotten when they return to the ship, “Siren of the Seas,” and discover that a passenger has drowned in their bathtub.

Initially believed to be an accidental drowning, the investigation soon turns to a murder investigation. The passenger, a member of a senior travel group, has more than her share of enemies and the list of suspects quickly grows.

When Millie is assigned to help coordinate the group’s activities, she encounters possibly the most annoying passenger ever; only to discover she’ll have to work with this person for the remainder of the cruise.

Can Millie survive working with the annoying guest long enough to help solve the Murder on Main or will solving the mystery be the least of her worries?

This is a very enjoyable story ... lots of cruise ship fun, and reminds me of my previous cruises ... but the mystery falls a little short. It seemed like all of a sudden the murder is solved, but I really didn't get how. Granted, I was tired when I read the end ... maybe I missed something?

Millie and Nic have returned to the ship from their honeymoon. As they walk to the ship they see police as a passenger had drowned in their bathtub.

Millie is in charge of the senior travel group and the main honcho, Dan reminds everyone he is a diamond member. Was it someone from the group and could be another guest?

Millie in on the case and of course can get into tight spots.

This series is the best it has everything and I like the fact the characters are different in ages and places they are from.

The recipes are an added bonus.

Great series!

I've read the first twelve and I'll definitely read more. Callaghan's depiction of what its like to work on a cruise ship is pretty accurate, with of course less crime though!

Poor Millie!

There are some things that it is reasonable to pressure a reluctant person into doing, and there are other things where everyone should respect another person's fear. Fear of small enclosed spaces, fear of heights, fear of falling, fear of the dark, and fear of certain animals such as spiders and snakes, although none of these fears happen to be ones that bother me, happen to be pretty deeply ingrained fears in many human beings, and forcing people to do something that is that deeply feared can easily backfire. Poor Millie! In this story, Millie is injured in an accident doing an obstacle course high above ground level when she is ordered to do it by the director of a tour group traveling aboard the cruise ship that Millie works on. No spoiler alert needed, because this has no direct bearing on the mystery in the book. It is only a glimpse into the personality of one of the characters. But it is a pretty telling glimpse. Personally I like doing things like that, but I would still be very angry with anyone who tried to coerce someone else into doing anything of that nature. So if you are squeamish about heights you may want to skip this book.

Other than that, it was quite a good mystery story. But I dislike bullies enough that I have to take something off when everyone lets a bully force someone into doing something dangerous that the person is afraid to do by threatening their livelihood if they do not do it. No one should have to fear for their lives to keep their jobs unless it is their own choice. I have chosen to work at certain high risk jobs, knowing the risks, and so do many other people, firefighters, police, military, coal miners, test pilots, stuntmen, war correspondent, bomb squad, and many others. But activity director of a cruise ship is not usually a life or death situation, and asking Millie do go with that tour group or be fired is not a reasonable position to put her in without warning! I hope that next time someone tries something else like that, that Millie has the backbone to say "No way!" and if the tour bus is half way down to the other side, well either bring the bus back or call a cab at your expense because I do not agree to do this! Sometimes people are more afraid than they should be about causing a scene. Very few people ever die from causing a scene but some people die because they are afraid to cause a scene and therefore try to do something that terrifies them enough that part way through they panic. Millie had an accident that might not have happened if she had not been afraid. This is realistic. Frightened people really do have more accidents than calm people. This is why I dislike bullies who force people to do dangerous things that scare them.

Murder on Main is the twelfth installment in Hope Callaghan’s awesome Cruise Ship Christian Cozy Mysteries Series and is a well thought out and interesting mystery, with a touch of sweet romance. The characters are well developed and affable. The book flows smoothly and at a steady pace and there are plenty of twists, turns, and potential suspects to keep the reader engaged. I highly recommend this clean, well-crafted cozy mystery.

Even though Millie Sanders-Armati and Captain Nic Armati enjoyed their honeymoon at the Grand Bay Beach Club, they are looking forward to returning to Siren of the Seas and settling in as a married couple. As their taxi pulls up to the port in St. Maarten, they see police cars and port authority vehicles parked near the gangway and know that something is amiss. Captain Vitale is the first to greet them and after he welcomes them back on board the ship, he breaks the news that one of the passengers, Cora Blackburn, drowned in her bathtub the night before, and her cabin mate, Nancy St. Germaine, had discovered her body that morning. The cruise line brings in corporate bigwig, Hawke Forbes, to take over the Blackburn investigation, and the ship’s head of security, Dave Patterson, warns Millie to stay out of the investigation because even her status as the Captain’s wife won’t stop them from firing her. Of course, Millie can’t stop herself from asking questions and researching possible suspects. Meanwhile, Millie takes over for Danielle Kneldon who was working with Dan Trevino, the travel coordinator for Twilight Travel Group. Dan is demanding, requiring her to attend most of the group’s activities, including a high wire obstacle course and zip-lining excursion. Millie is worried about another passenger, Mark Kincaid, a reporter for the Palm Beach Press, who she learns is planning to write an article on the lack of safety precautions on cruise ships.

Cruise ship safety in question

As the newly-wed Amatis return to Siren of the Seas after their honeymoon, they are greeted with the flashing lights of police and ambulance vehicles. A body was found in the bathtub of one of the suites, and Millie is immediately caught up in the mystery. Was it an accidental drowning or murder?

After being told to stay out of the investigation, Millie and friends dig in to unravel the death of the woman traveling in a large group of singles aboard the ship. Millie must sort through a plethora of suspects to solve the crime while trying to survive any number of mishaps.

Millie the Assistant Cruise Director and Nic Armati the Captain boarded the Siren of the Sea cruise ship after a wonderful and exciting honeymoon finding that a passenger was discovered dead in her cabins bath tub . Millie always seems to get involved with murder and trying t solve them. This time she was told to stay out of the investigation because Majestic Cruise Lines was doing it. Cora Blackburn was with a travel tour booked on the cruise ship and Millie was assigned to help the tour guide. Even though she was told to stay out of the investigation she had several suspects for the murder. Being Millie she gets her friends involved to help her with the murder!

Awesome mysteries with a twist

One of my favorite things about these books is the main character, who is a woman whose husband left her for her hairdresser. She decides to apply for a job, and is surprised to be hired as an Assistant Cruise Director for a large cruise ship. Her adventures include investigating and solving crimes as she goes about her duties aboard the ship. She is a perky woman who makes several good friends among the crew and gets into trouble with some of her bosses. Her friendship with the head of food services gains her taste tests of new dishes for the passengers. Some of the scrumptious recipes are included at the end of each book.

Assistant Cruise Director Millie Sanders-Armati is at it again. After spending a glorious week on her honeymoon with Captain Nic, they return to the Siren of the Seas to find out someone has died on the cruise ship. Was Cora Blackburn's drowning in the bathtub an accident or did someone murder her?

This 12th installment of the Cruise Ship Christian Cozy Mysteries Series is just like all the others; a fast-paced adventure, a cast of entertaining cruise guests, a clean mystery, and a ton of clues that keep you guessing "who done it" all the way to the end.

A fun fast read

This book takes Millie back on board the cruise ship with her regular group of friends and collaborators along with her new husband the captain. The night before she returns to the ship a passenger is found dead in her tub. She is a member of a senior tour group with a difficult tour leader that Millie is assigned to make happy. Add to that a reporter on board and a corporate security officer that flies in to take over the investigation and Millie has a wild return to the ship on her hand. Looking forward to reading the next book

Fantastic book.

Christian books are hard to find anymore. excellent Christian books are harder to find but this author has been able to find a home in this genre. Each subject varies and the books remain captivating. I cannot wait for the next book and neither can the others who read with me. Please keep them coming. A strong smart Christian woman is a real treat in this world of slipping moral beliefs and something that gives us hope for the future.

I have basically read this entire series (17 books so far, I think)...they are fun and fluffy and clean. I love the Christian aspect, I love the CRUISING aspect, and the characters are pretty likable...
(though admittedly, I sometimes roll my eyes at Millie getting involved once more in something or someplace she has no business being---but since that is the premise of the entire series...there you have it!) Enjoyable "summer" read, all year round.

Here Millie Goes Again!

Millie barely gets back to the Siren of the Seas from her honeymoon with Nic before she's involved in another mystery! It's quite a mystery too! Several good suspects that all could have murdered Cora. Hope keeps you guessing close to the end before the pieces all fall into place.

“Always suspect the least suspect.”

“I’ve discovered you have a reputation on board the ship as a super sleuth, with a nose for solving mysteries.”

“There is nothing to fear but fear itself.”

This one was enjoyable all the way to the big reveal, which was ultimately rushed and disappointing. The last few books have been so-so. Might be time for me to pull the plug on this series.

Who Done It?

A most pleasant and cheerful way to spend a few hours. Missed the stories leading up to the marriage of the Captain and his Lady so it might prove interesting to look into earlier Cosy Mysteries. Fast reads!

Power trip

Millie keeps her cool even when faced with a power hungry jerk. Even running non stop and getting hurt she still gets the bad guy. Would have liked to have found out what the guy from the head office thought.
