Behind the scenes

Not as good as the first one and unfortunately guessed the killer early on. The characters really need a bit more depth to them especially the heroine.
A film crew rolls into town and want her to provide the catering. The only downside is that her nemesis from high school is the star. As tempers boil and passions are exposed, she sees the slightly seedier side of life as partners are forgotten in new affairs. When the star is killed the focus seems to be on an old ex boyfriend from high school. However she believes different. Throw in unrequited love, affairs and another death and mix well. Will she find the killer?

The second book in the Maritime Teashop Cozy Mystery Series let Olivia and Ivy not once taking their breaths because their calm, daily routine is mixed up by the arrival of the film crew for an upcoming movie where Olivia's old nemesis and highschool bully Quintessence is the lead actress.

Being hired as the caterer for snacks & tea - lured by an attractive deal - she is soon a fix member of the crew - even temporarily. The daily routine of the set is disturbed when the actress, Quintessence is found dead & Olive is finding herself again in the role of the amateur detective.

This book had with the addition of some characters and aspects of the parts a great drive. I really liked how different the characters were set and with taking the town into a movie set there was a lot of possibilites which were definitely used.

The twists in the plot and crime case were entertaining and thrilling, many times I was on the wrong trace and the revealings at the end including the dramatic climax were suprising. :3

The romantic subplot from book one with Olivia and the local detective, Dean, is continued and I hope we see a lot more, but not only she is going towards her own happy end, her sister is exploring her love with a character you've met in the book before. Who's it, I won't tell, read this and the book befor

Fun, quick read, a non-spoiler review

If you enjoy cozy mysteries, you will probably enjoy Chaos on Camera. It is a cute, fun book that can be read in a couple of hours. The characters are endearing and the mystery they find themselves involve in is enough to keep you reading. The bad guys and gals are developed well enough that you might just curl your lip while reading.
The relationship between mother and daughters, as well as sisters is a bit too good to be true, leaving this reader longing for that perfect family. Old loves, new loves provide predictable romantic outcomes in the all too perfect seaside town. The Maritime Teashop sounds like a dream, if I liked tea. Some of the teas mentioned entice me to try some though, and the baked goods sound delightful.
What seems to have become the norm for too many e-books is also found in Chaos on Camera; misspellings, typos and grammatical errors. I almost cannot fault the author because a good proofreader (is that even what they are called?) should catch those mistakes. Of course, now that I've said that I'm scared to death that I have misspellings, typos and grammatical errors in my review.
If you can look past the mistakes, you will enjoy a truly cozy mystery. Chaos on Camera is true to its' genre and those readers will find it to be delightful, if a little too perfect and somewhat predictable.

This is the second book in the series. In this story, San Bastion Bay has a movie set move in. Olivia and Ivy find out that the star of the movie is none other than Olivia's high school bully Quintessence. The sisters get to cater to the movie set, and things get really rolling when Quintessence is found dead. Well, there isn't a short supply of suspects, after all Quintessence wasn't all that nice to many people. Detective Dean is back and a love interest to Olivia. Can they find the killer? There are a 'cast of characters' to choose from. You will love the ending! I voluntarily reviewed ARC of this book.

A Complex Puzzle in a Charming Setting

I completely enjoyed this cozy mystery from beginning to end. I like San Bas, its inhabitants, and Olivia Darrow's tea shop. Having a high school nemesis return to town, starring in a movie, was a great scenario for murder. This forward motion of the story was satisfying, and I didn't figure out the murderer until Olive did, fulfilling my third requirement for a good murder mystery. If San Bas were real, I'd visit and definitely have tea and cakes at Maritime.

A real page turner

Another enthralling instalment in the Maritime Teashop series, with a central mystery that kept me guessing the whole way through. It was also nice to see the personal relationships between the characters continue to develop.

Captivating

Good second book. Interesting story line with several red herrings along the way would recommend. Looking forward to next installment.
