Rate this book
Police Officer Brad Livingston sees some movement behind a vacant house and goes to check it out. The last thing he expects to find is the wriggling derrière of a young lady caught in a window while attempting to break in. Yet, there she is, struggling to get in or out, her legs kicking wildly and her arms flailing, trying to grab onto anything. He is surprised yet again when he asks if he could be of assistance, and she lays into him with an attitude that has him shaking his head, trying to understand her theory that her predicament is somehow his fault.
Brad and Chloe eventually get things straightened out, and the next time their paths meet, things go much more smoothly. In fact, it’s smooth sailing for the two of them – until a string of events threaten more than just their relationship.

Someone’s Trash Someone Else’s Treasure

I always love Misty Malone’s books, and this one is no exception.

I love it for the beginning of the book until the absolute end.

I love the ideas she came up with using trash to make beautiful things people will want and enjoy. The helpful planter she made for her elderly neighbor so she could continue growing her flowers.

Her ideas for the Piedmont Annual Street Fair were terrific too, including raising money to cover their annual needs instead of adding the additional tax on the town folks.

Helping raise money for the band uniforms too was an excellent idea!

I adored the book from cover to cover, with the lovely unexpected romance in the beginning in addition to the added mystery was positively a page-turner.

The unexpected twist at the end made it even more delightful. A must read!

GET MYSTERY WITH HUMOR

I enjoyed this mystery suspense story that also had me laughing out loud at some of the antics of Chloe Sindell. The chemistry between her and Police officer Brad Livingston keeps the pages turning in this tale.

Chloe will inherit her late aunt Helen’s home, and when she shows up in town, she doesn’t have the paperwork or keys and is trying to break in. Brad has been keeping an eye out on the place, and when he sees her attempting to break in through a window, he stops her. But the language and attitude will have him more upset than catching her breaking and entering.

“You really know how to try a man’s patience, don’t you?”

“I don’t know. If there was a man around, we could ask him.”

When she remains belligerent and threatening he will use a key and let her in the house and proceed to turn her over his knee for a good old-fashioned spanking.

“I will let you up as soon as I teach you a lesson, little girl. Your language and attitude are in dire need of revision. You are much too pretty to be talking like that, and that attitude is going to get you in trouble.”

It doesn’t take long for Brad and Chloe to start dating, and for her to make friends with one neighbor while having trouble with another one. She wants to honor her late aunt and will get involved in community events, and before you know it, she is heading up the annual street fair. Her talent at taking discarded junk and turning it into useful art or furniture will gain her recognition.

Trouble starts brewing, with vandalism, destroyed art pieces, and then someone is trying to trash her name. It will become a case of detective work to find out who is doing it and why. When her garage that is her workshop is broken in to, an, unlike source, can help provide valuable information on the culprit. The why is the main question that must be solved in the case.
Will Chloe learn to trust Brad and respect him and his duty as an officer of the law? While there is an ongoing case, he can’t discuss it with her, even if that case involves her.

“He acts like a man that will take charge of any situation. And trust me, a woman would be smart to let him.”

The story keeps the suspense going as Brad and another officer work together to try and solve the case and keep as much under wraps until they can make an arrest. While the story has many spanking scenes, there are no sex scenes within the story.

Police Chief Brad Livingston spots a young woman breaking into the house of a recently dead elderly friend. When she gives him attitude and foul language, who uses his key to the house to open the door and carry her inside -- to spank her.

Soon, he breaks through her temper to learn she has inherited the house from her aunt. She was planning to leave with her aunt, before her aunt's death. Chloe is an unusual young woman. She has just finished college, but plans to work out of her home garage creating functional pieces from reclaimed junk.

Chloe names Brad "Top Cop", which he claims by making it her Caller ID on her phone. He checks on her regularly and they often have dinner together. Chloe wants to be accepted by the village, and volunteers to chair the village's 200th Street Fair. Brad wants everything to go well for her, so he takes on some of the responsibilities.

Someone wants the fair to fail and vandalizes items Chloe has created and leaves dead animals on the fair grounds -- found in time. Then her garage is vandalized. It is getting too close to Chloe.

Brad is investigating, believing it is someone with issues against Chloe or him.

A sweet and funny romance with domestic discipline and no sex scenes. Excellent adventure mystery.

Top Cop by Misty Malone is a cute adventurous story. The story has a great beginning with Chloe getting into trouble with chief of police officer Brad. He catches her trying to break into her aunt’s house. But is it really breaking and entering when it is your own home and you have just forgotten your keys? Chloe of course loses her temper and Brad is not about to put up with her cursing. He does what any regular cop can’t do today without truly being arrested and hauls her over his knee for a spanking to settle her butt down. What a way to meet your future husband! Chloe quickly becomes a happy member of her community and volunteers to run the annual street fair. But someone has it out for Chloe. They begin sabotaging her fair and her livelihood. I had to wonder if it was the grumpy old neighbor living next door. With all good mysteries, our author leaves us hanging until the very end to discover who the perpetrator is. I loved this story. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

I enjoyed this sweet romance filled with domestic discipline. With no explicit sex scenes, the story focuses on the romance between the characters as well as the mystery and suspense in the plot. The characters were caring and felt deeply for each other along with a variety of secondary characters that added to the story. I really enjoyed following the twists and turns of who was out to get Chloe as Brad, "the top cop", and his men chased down the leads as they tried to catch; not only the person after her, but also keep her from tying to find out who it is for herself. In the end I was surprised by who they caught causing all the trouble. When you add in the love, spankings, and laughs it makes for another successful book by Misty Malone. I recommend this great book. Way to go and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book.

This book started out with a very cute meeting of the two main characters. Chloe just moved to a small town and Brad is the Top Cop. There is a good mystery and quite a few spankings in this story. I did enjoy this book, but felt it could have benefited from a tighter storyline and more heat between the two main characters. Specifically, the mystery went on too long and Brad and Chloe went a very long time with basically only sharing dinners with each other. Although they discussed the mystery, sometimes too much, they rarely addressed their feelings of desire for each other and their relationship came across as tepid at times. The discipline was warranted and fair. A good, solid novel that just missed being great.

This is another delightfully fun and delicious read by Misty Malone that deals with the subject of domestic discipline in most enjoyable, yet very educational manner. I have always liked how the various aspects of a spanking relationship have been spread out before the reader to help them understand the whys, wheres, hows, and most importantly, the loving, caring and sharing that this lifestyle encompasses. I always look forward to see what kind of mischief the naughty little brats get into that warrants them being taken in hand, which usually ends up with them over the knee of some stern, hard handed, yet big hearted, man. This is a rather late voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Blushing Books.

Top Cop is the sweet romance of Brad and Chloe. Chloe is put into handcuffs by chief of police Brad Livingston when she tries to enter her inherited house through a window. She is very rude to him, which earns her a spanking first over the hood of his police car and later on over his knees. Despite that not very nice beginning, the two develop feelings for each other and enter in a domestic discipline relationship.

Overall I liked the book but there were passages that were a bit too drawn out for my liking. Nevertheless I liked Chloe and Brad very much and I recommend this book to anyone who likes spanking and clean romance.

Top cop was a very sweet story about a good-hearted and charming yet stubborn furniture maker and the town's "top cop". The protagonist, Chloe, had picked up and moved her entire life to a small town to live in her aunt's house and ended up falling into a promising relationship. The characters were all really wholesome and nice, but the story does get off to a bit of a slow start. I almost stopped reading the book by about 1/3 of the way in, but the other reviews online mentioned a good mystery, so I kept going. I'm really glad I did, because the second half of the book had a good intrigue. I don't want to spoil it, so you'll just have to read it yourself!

This was not a short book. It went on a bit longer than necessary, because I found the main characters repeating themselves. Maybe repeating is not the best word. I think restating the facts is more accurate. At least for me that made the book drag.

The mystery was interesting and I got a sense of the culprit's identity, but wasn't 100% sure until the end. It was domestic discipline romance. The storyline was ok. There was nothing exciting, suspenseful, or stimulating about this book. It was just ok.

This was an enjoyable read without being anything outstanding. It was an (overall) well written story with an interesting storyline & characters with a bit of suspense thrown in. It is a clean romance, so if you're after sexy times, this isn't for you. I found this book to be a bit longer than the norm for this genre & while I enjoyed it, felt that it would have been better if it had been tightened up & shortened a bit - it seemed to drag a bit through the middle. I love that we were given access to the thoughts of "Top Cop" & for me, this made it worth reading.

Great mystery

I enjoyed the mystery of this novel. It kept me guessing right up until the end. It was a fun read. Some of the things involving police procedure wasn’t really realistic but overlooking that it was a really good story that I enjoyed. I hope to read more of this authors books.

This book had potential, started out really good. Brad and Chloe have a sweet romance with domestic discipline. She lacks self esteem with her new move, but he helps her. This story would have been better if shorter. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
