Satisfying standalone reads with HEA and no cliffhangers. Get this collection before it’s gone!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 💋💋 This is one author you can not go wrong with . These books are the first 3 in this series, they are the story of the DeMontfort family and begin with Geoffrey and Merrin , continuing through their children , and as such ,although they can be read as standalone, are much better read in sequence. Alexa has a true gift and it shows . Can’t praise this series enough .
I kept waiting for someone to review the bundle before I purchased it. This author is new to me and I normally wait to see what other reviewer's felt. I am so glad I didn't wait and I will be signing up for this author's newsletter.
WORD OF HONOR - 5 STARS. I wish I was better at conveying what all happens in this story, so much that I couldn't stop reading. I enjoyed how we meet them when they are teenagers and then it picks up 5 years later. I felt a connection to this couple from the beginning and the author wrote them with such depth of character.
There are more than 1 villain that kept the story more than interesting. The suspense and twists were an enjoyable read. At times I felt I was on the top hill of a roller coaster and when it plunges the excitement never ends until the last page.
The sadness that our H endures and his code of honor will just make you hold him to your heart. Don't get me started on the strength of our h too. This is also about love that endures no matter what life throws at them. Talk about absence makes the heart grow fonder must have been penned for stories like this.
Several times I truly knew where the character's were taking me only to be surprised that the author did an amazing twist (to the good).
We have some misunderstandings and I thought oh here we go. But, such a relief because they are resolved very quickly and it felt perfect how it all turned out.
We have lovemaking within marriage and mildly described - not vulgar but full of passion.
Our couple do get their HEA, no cliffhanger and we are treated to 8 years in their future which brought a smile to my face.
2. MARKED BY HONOR - 4 STARS - I must admit I dislike immensely stories that are based on lies. Even later when we are told why she lied, it still didn't help. The ending saved it from 3 stars, because of so many twists (especially near the end, surprises and suspense. I also, thought our H forgave her too easily.
This story has character's from book 1 WORD OF HONOR, which we discover about chapter 3. At the end of the first book, we jumped I think it was 8 years. But, in this one, we go back 8 years so was somewhat interesting.
There is mild passionate lovemaking within marriage a few times. We do get HEA, no cliffhanger, and an epilogue that is 20 years in the future which was nice. I did enjoy book 1 more, but this is still good.
3. CODE OF HONOR - 4.5 STARS. Oh, I loved how this starts. I am such a sucker for when an author starts our character(s) when they are younger. What our H endures when he is 8 is so heart wrenching, it stayed with me.
The character's from book 1, WORD OF HONOR have great parts in this story too. It was nice to catch up with character's I enjoyed discovering in that book. This can be a stand alone, but since book 1 is my fav, don't miss it.
There are so many moments that will make you sigh. I do believe in love at first sight and this was certainly but to the test. They both fall in love in about a day. This is another unique story line and has several villains. More twists that I thought my head would spin off - all in a good way. Great imagination by the author because this held my interest from the start to finish.
We have 1 foreplay and 1 lovemaking act about 3.5-4 heat level out of 5 outside of marriage. It was an uncertain road if they would make it to HEA, but all is well. No cliffhanger's either - yea.
The character's have great depth and I could feel their pain which they had a lot thrown at them. The ending will have your heart pounding more than once. (ljb)
Loved each and every book, strong women holding their own. Gallant men with gentle hearts, looks to make you swoon. Give stars do not rate this box set highly enough
Absolutely wonderful stories! C The characters were lovable, exciting and romantic. The storyline in all three books was awesome! Lots of heartache and tragedy. Worth the read.
The stories flow fluidly! The characters are real to the reader. Wonderful plots, believable circumstances. The only thing I wasn't completely pleased with is the stories came to an end!
Three good quick reading books along with bonus material. As in most Kindle books, the editing leaves something to be desired. This box set is a little better than most when it comes to the editing.
I loved the time frame and the location of the story. Each story was well written and each character was interesting. I liked how one story flowed into the next one!
Could be subtitled "The lives and loves of the de Monfort family"
These are the first three books in a ten book series featuring members of Geoffrey and Merry Dr Monfort. Set in England in the last 1300's during the reign of King Edwin III and Queen Philippa. Book 1 - the ill stated story of Geoffrey and Merryn. Married for one day before Geoffrey disappears never to be seen again for over six years. When he reappears it is to a "widow" wife and six year old twins. The secret to his disappearance eventually comes to light. Book 2 - the story of Geoffrey's cousin Raynor and the young woman he falls in love with. Book 3 - the story of Geoffrey's favorite knight Michael Deveruex and Geoffrey's niece Elysande (pronounced "El - a - sunde" thank you very much). Enjoyed all three stories.
Each of the three books was an excellent stand alone story. The plot and characters were crisp, well written and entertaining. You will be thrilled with non stop action, suspense, adventure and romance, even chuckles at the antics of some of the characters. I fell in love with the series and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
Geoffrey and Merryn loved each other and were separated for 7 years after their wedding and are making up for it since his return. Ray and Beatrice fell in love at first sight when he saved her from highwaymen. Finally Michael and Elysande fought for their love and were granted permission to marry by King Edward .
Maybe I should have know..knights mean battle and war and that is just not my cuppa tea. There was 20 % romance and 80# intrigue and gross detail of war and fighting. It was written well but for me I did not enjoy. I only read the first story.
These books were so good that I cannot believe that Mrs Aston had to use vulgar scenes to entice readers! The dialogue is great! The rest of the rest of the paying group is in for a treat
I loved this series ....the only thing that I caught was the fact that hugh was killed in the book and was back in the 3rd with his wife millie...otherwise it was a great love story for all....
