Thea Kinsey is pregnant with a Skin Walker child and on the run. Worse, how does she explain to the father that she shot him by accident? There’ll be no explaining. He’s vowed retribution and Thea has no choice but to run fast and hard to keep from being caught.

Marko Storm is as messed up as they come. Having been captured by Skin Walker enemies years ago, he’s never been able to fully control his shifts or abilities. Things get even worse when Thea’s injected with some strange drug that has him unable to resist her. When Thea disappears from the Estate, Marko goes on the hunt, and when he finds Thea, the affliction hits with a powerful blast that’s almost as painful as the bullet she shoots into him. Thea doesn’t know that since their coupling, Marko’s completely lost the ability to shift, but that won’t keep him from hunting her. He knows she’s carrying his baby and once he finds Thea, he plans to capture and to keep.

****

“Hang on!” Marko shouted as he climbed into the truck and twisted the key in the ignition. Jamming the truck into gear, it lurched forward even as panic hit.

Thea’s hope that the dart had been a placebo, meant to terrify instead of doing any real damage, faded a quick death as her overheated body and suddenly sensitized flesh told her they’d definitely injected her with something. Moaning, Thea curled in on herself.

“Thea, hang on!”

She couldn’t formulate words, so she lifted a shaky hand and grabbed the empty tranq dart beside Marko’s thigh where he’d dropped it onto the seat.

His eyes shot down, and he cursed. “Fuck! What is it?”

She could only shake her head as her belly clenched hard, shooting pain to her sex that was surprising and frightening. She breathed through the round of agony and only caught bits of Marko’s words as he spoke into his comm.

“I don’t know what the fuck it is, but she’s in pain! Yes, I know she’s a SW friendly. I’ve read her file!”

Another wave of agony hit, and she breathed deep and slow, embarrassed that her clit suddenly chose this moment to come to life and find the friction of the denim bunched between her legs enticing.

“We can’t come in! They’re on us. I need help!”

Thea heard him say someone was on them and she struggled up with a groan to peer out the back window. The movement was a mistake. On her knees, the material of her pants pressed tighter against her clit and had her rocking forward and backward. Why did it feel so good? What in the hell is going on?

“Thea, stay down!” Marko’s large hand on her back flattened her to the seat before he went back to his conversation. “Someone just took ‘em out. We’re making a run for it. We’ll hole up and wait for you to come to us.”

Thea slid to the floor and squeezed her legs tighter, rocking quicker until to her utter mortification, orgasm seized her. She breathed through it and prayed Marko couldn’t tell. Huddled on the floor of the truck she moaned and wanted to cry when the pain returned full force and then some. Her orgasm only gave her a brief respite. Oh no!

“I don’t know,” Marko barked, and she peeked up from where she hid her face in arms resting on her knees to see him snag the dart from the seat. He held it to his nose and inhaled deeply. “I smell…” He paled and didn’t respond. Slowly, his eyes left the road and slid to her. His mouth fell open and his eyes rounded in horror as he stared at her in complete shock.

My pack territory is in Central Montana, between Stone Crow Estates and the North Fortress. Born and raised in an untamed location that bridges the gap between rolling prairies and majestic mountain peaks, I am born to a family that also bridges the gap between cultures. My father’s people boast a fiercely proud Scandinavian ancestry while my mother’s tribes descend from two savagely beautiful and unique nations (White Clay and Nakoda) that inspire my Skin Walker series.

I'm a huge fan of MMA, boxing, 30 Seconds to Mars, DMX, Nahko and Medicine for the People, and 21 Pilots (“…sometimes quiet is violent”). I also love to read because it encourages me to write. (I hate it when authors add that they love coffee and chocolate. Really? Who doesn't love coffee and chocolate?) Anyway, I love beer...kidding. I don't love beer but we are engaged in a very serious relationship. (Mom, please don't call me when you read this.)

Please leave feedback….well, only if it’s positive. “Keep in mind that I’m an artist and I’m sensitive about my shit!  (Erykah Badu lyrics!)

He literally turned into a White Hulk/Beast to protect his Angel. She couldn't be touched by another man without getting sick and only Marko's touch soothed her. She had panic attacks and he had problems shifting into his animals or speaking through the mist so they both considered themselves damaged.

I didn't even think this book was coming out already since in the last book, the author said "Coming Soon: Bishop!" Bait and Switch....AGAIN.

I will say this takes place at the same time Book 10 and 11 are taking place so it's still when the estate is being attacked but this time it's told from Marko and Thea's POV.

Don't get me wrong, but I did enjoy reading this book as well as love the series in general. This is my second reading and while both Thea and Marko were great characters I was hoping for more from the book. Questions answered within the story itself but also the series in general. Even though we are still circling the attack at the Estate, 3 books down and we still don't have an idea of who the traitor could possibly be. Not even a mention of an ongoing search.
And then within the book itself, how was the Megalya able to find Thea and shoot down the helo?
Did she have a tracker on her?
And then there was the continuity error in Chapter 32. Marko and Thea are finally telling each other how they feel and when things get steamy, Marko is unbuttoning her pants, wait what? Wasn't she just wearing a blue sundress? Totally interrupted the moment for me. So sad.
I want to series to go on. I love this authors books, but I want some resolution along the way. More answers less filler.
I still feel this book is well worth your time and $$

These two are amazing. Both feeling they are not good enough, they soon learn that they both complete eachother.
Thea has had a crush on Marko for 2 yrs now, ever since she started teaching at Stonecrow. He has never noticed her or even talked to her, Thea is even more surprised that he even knew her name. But that all changed when Stonecrow is under attack and he tries to help her to reach the main building but Thea gets shot by a tranquilizer that was ment for Marko.
Marko has noticed Thea from the very beginning, but has tried to stay away cause she is human and he did not experience an affliction yet so he believed that just ment she was not ment to be his. Soon after Thea was shot she was experiencing side affects that he can only help her out with, it was to hard for him to deny her.

Each Story get Better and Better

Susan is one of my favorites when I knows she's releasing a book I stay on Amazon typing her name in until I see it. Where do I start at the beginning and then to the end I devoured this book. I get so anxious that I read it so fast I have to stop myself from finishing it in one read because I want it to never end. What a pleasure, I am so glad I've found this author. I've read them all, every single book, and can't wait for the next. Susan Bliler can you please write faster I need more books.

I haven’t liked the series as much in the past couple of books but I did like this one. I also thought strange that the halo didn’t activate right away. Not sure I buy into the explanation. Same true with other series by another author seems convenient that it is now different with different characters/books in series after more than 5 books one way.

Wondering where the series is going too since the main bad people are escalating.

Did you remember Marco? The chain beast that Tyce showed Briel when explaining the affliction?
This is his books, and explain how he came to be chained to that wall… don’t you love when books just come to a full circle and everything clicks into place? That Ahh! moment that brings averting back to place?
I do! and that one of the reason I love Ms. Bliler.

Great Series

I love this series. The shifters are tough and protective of their loved ones. They do have enemies, which makes a great storyline. And each book is a love story as well.

Another great read

Boiled has done it again. This writer always delivers. Her characters are believable and you invest in their stories almost immediately. I have yet to read one of her books and not been happy with the story.

Two pieces of one whole

This book is one that will make you believe in second chances and true love. The author sent us on a wild ride to bring two broken souls together and to the HEA that we all dream of. I fell in love with Marko and was so glad when he got his HEA. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
