The only thing Tyler Kirkwood ever wanted in life was to be loved openly. But yet what he got was another man who is deep in the closet. So he did the only thing he could to try and save his heart, he left.
Graham Redfeather has only ever loved one man in his life, Tyler Kirkwood. But yet no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t quite come out of the closet, even for the man he loved. The issue was his own, for he knew he would be readily accepted by his family. After Ty leaves, Graham realizes just what he had and decides to win the man he loves back.
But when a man from Tyler’s past reappears and tries to get reacquainted with Tyler, Graham knows something isn’t adding up. Did Graham blow his chances? Was it too late? Will Tyler choose Graham and their love, or will he choose to return home to Montana and his legacy? Where does his loyalty lie?
My Truth, My Future is the fourth book in the Men of Crooked Bend series. Each book in the series will focus on a different couple but will be better enjoyed as a series as the couples all make appearances in each book. Each book contains sexually explicit material between two men and is intended for adults over 18.
Reread June 10, 2025 **** Rancher Graham and Cowboy Ty are going public ! This is in a series, but each book has a new M/M couple to learn about. Graham has been in the closet, but seeing his lover at a wedding with someone else, has Graham deciding, no more hiding. He wants Ty forever, and he makes it known. Ty is a bit shocked, but it’s because he has had to hide, too, as Graham’s secret. These two love each other, and are highly explosive, uninhibited and wild in their sexy times. Nothing is off limits. We see them working, too.
We watch them unload their thoughts together, take time off, and see Graham help Ty when he goes to Montana to sell his inherited ranch. His hateful grandfather left Ty everything. What they learn there is shocking.
We later see Graham’s sweet proposal and secret plans.
This is a mushy romance, a bit angsty and has some stilted conversations, but the outcome is wonderful.
I like the sexy cowboys, horses, and atmosphere. I’ll be continuing on in this series. Enjoy !
I have to start by saying that I really like these characters. It’s why I’ve binge read the series. But the writing is just not great, the story construction is lacking and the editing and proofreading needs serious work. But I’ll say it again, I really like the characters!
Once again, the story just did not flow. There are incidents or elements thrown out there and then abandoned. Then there are other things that seem to serve no purpose at all. The dialog is often awkward and stilted. All in all it is not a smooth read. The epilogue holds promise of an intriguing story premise for book five. I will hold out hope that that comes to fruition.
But again, I really like the characters. I like the world that has been created here. I love the sense of the family and the idea of the family you create.
While the story is sweet it felt like it could have been much shorter. Lots of repetition of events and overly detailed descriptions of mundane activities and conversations. There is also a lot of recycling of events from previous books, e.g. all of them take trips on a private plane. Why aren’t the couples unique? Also every time something that could have provided for excitement or intrigue was mentioned, the issue was almost immediately solved with little fanfare or intrigue, e.g. Ty’s ranch and the people there could have added a lot to the story; as it was there was barely reason for them to be included.
OK first off I want to give a BIG thank you to Taylor Rylan. I had questions I really needed answers to and luckily hour epilogue answered them. Now I can't wait for the next one. Hopefully Graham will be done beating himself up by then. Him and Ty are perfect together. Yay for momma Redfeather. She finally got to do what she always wanted to. So glad the next one is Isaac's. He deserves a good HEA.
Boy, snagging a Redfeather seems to be the thing to do in Crooked Bend. It was a long, bumpy road for these two. But once they finally pulled their heads out and saw things clearly it all worked out.
I really enjoyed this book which isn’t surprising as I’ve loved all the books in this series so far. I loved the connection between Graham and Tyler. Sometimes it takes nearly losing someone to get up the courage to finally claim them openly, which is what happened to finally get Graham to see that he’d lose Ty if he stayed in the closet like he has forced Ty into for the last 2 years. I love how when Graham decided to come out of the closet he did it at warp speed. Ty took awhile to accept that Graham was happy being out and in a relationship with him or wasn’t going to regret his decision which is totally understandable after being together in secret for the last 2 years. I loved how Graham was that confident that Ty would say yes, and didn’t want to cause him any undue stress after seeing what Simon and Sean went through with his mum trying to take over the planning and wasn’t happy with anything they had planned, so he basically gave his mum a list of Ty’s favourite things, that the wedding will be on the ranch and the date and gave her carte-blanch on the details. She had 7 weeks to get it all planned as he wanted to have their wedding day on 12 May as it was the day they first met. Wow, the epilogue was sure a teaser of Isaac’s story and would really like to know what Curtis and Larry were planning to do with Graham and Ty since they were both bad news and were trying the use both Graham and Ty to get part of the ranch or Ty’s granddads ranch where Ty grew up. Thinking that they could sleep to the top. Totally wasn’t what Ty was doing with Graham even from when they first started sleeping together. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
I was so excited when I seen that Taylor Rylan released My Truth, My Future early that I refused to sleep until I read the whole book. And let me just say that I was not disappointed.
Ever since book one, I was intrigued with the little snippets she gave us of the two.
While I love both Graham and Tyler, it was Graham that stole my heart. He was a total sweetheart, and I was so happy to see that it didn't take the whole book for him to realize what Tyler meant to him. Once he pulled his head out his butt, I absolutely adored how he repeatedly kept showing Tyler how much he loved him. Even though he had his own insecurities, he never hesitated.
Tyler, the darling man didn't quite know how to take the new Graham. After being in the closet with Graham for two years it was understandable for him to have the doubts he had plus the confusion. I loved the way he handled everything though.
It wasn't completely smooth sailing, but they handled the bumps in the road smoothly, and I feel they came out stronger both as I individuals and as a couple.
This is my favorite book in the series so far, and that says something because I completely adored Logan and Rhett.I
The epilogue was great. It was a beautiful set up for Isaacs story.
This author is really doing a great job at keeping you intrigued by all these characters and wanting to know more and more. I was really curious about these two though from previous books. I wanted to know what the deal was with Graham and what was holding him back.
I gotta say I was a little disappointed on the reasoning behind his hesitations to pursue Tyler. I just didn't get it considering the amazing family dynamic that this whole set of characters have. But nonetheless, I still enjoyed the story and thought that Graham and Tyler were absolutely perfect and deliciously sexy together.
This author truly delivers such a great set of characters throughout this series. It's hard to say which one I favor as they all have something I love about them but I don't know there is just something about Tyler that makes him stick out the most for me. I love that he has this sense of vulnerability but he's so strong willed and determined. Another good addition to this series. Looking forward to the next book and hopefully we get more from the previous couples as I'm not sure I'm ready to fully say good bye to this amazing family yet.
Forget what I said in the previous review. The series does not pick up. The premise is that Graham can't leave the closet (not even he's sure why) and that a guy from Tyler's past comes knocking. It's all resolved WAY to quickly. Like, first 20% of the book quickly. And way too neatly. The rest is repetitive. It feels like one of those school essays where the teacher says they want 20 pages so you stuff 13 with meaningless information and plenty of repetition just to fill up the space. If the pattern with this series holds (ok, bad, ok, bad...) the next one will be ok.
Graham has a lot of responsibility managing his family's ranch and trying to have a personal life. When Tyler arrived to wrangle the horses they raised it was a revelation he didn't know how to handle so he kept their relationship secret. But after seeing Ty with someone else at his brother's cousin's wedding he realizes he could lose the most important person in his life. Can Ty forgive him for being an idiot or will he return to his own family ranch and be gone for good?
Finally! I was beginning to wonder if Graham was every going to man up. When he does, he does it in a big way! While I still don't understand his reluctance to come out in the first place, I was very happy to see him and Tyler get their HEA. Yes, there was still quite a bit of fluff but the author is finally balancing it out a little better with some actual substance. The whole Larry/Curtis thing could have been fleshed out a little more but overall it was a great story.
Graham and Tyler were much anticipated and didn't dissapoint. As with previous books they were sweet and sexy and perfect foils. I love how this series gives you a real time line and follows the characters in not quite a slow burn but not a rush to the finish line either. We get spend time and really see the magic happen. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book.
Graham and Ty are so likable. Graham is in the closet but when he realizes that he can loss Ty he does everything he can to win Ty back. Ty is scared to truly give his heart to Graham incase he decides to go back in the closet. Their story is sweet, and once they stop and really listen to one another everything falls into place.
Graham and Tyler and some issues they had to work out and once Graham let himself "go" He was okay with it all, then Tyler was having issues with the two of them. So glad they got it worked out. It's wonderful to see the family love and bond the Redfeathers have for each other and spouses.
DNF 17% Pushed myself through this series as I was hoping the author's writing style and execution of plot points would improve. I dropped this at 17% as it was as repetitive and choppy as the first 3 books. I am hoping the author improves in future work and will attempt reading another they have written several years after this.
It's my first time reading this author work and it didn't disappoint me, I loved them all. The series was filled with hot sexy cowboys in their quest to find their perfect partners. It was also good to see the previous couples throughout the series as they grow with their families. It was an easy 5 stars from me.
And the stories. I do think the mcs give in a little to easily though. And I don’t think I have ever read books where the mcs shower or bathe as much as they do in this series. In this book alone the mcs showered like 3-4 times in one day. Ummm do people really shower that much? It’s such a silly complaint but come on! 😂🤣
Another awesome Crooked Bend story! I hate that we are running out of single men. I love how their lives are intertwined and each story has a little bit of everyone!! Can't wait for the next book!
Freaking finally! It's about time Graham pulled his head out of his behind, poor Tyler deserved better. I'm glad they finally got on the same page. Next up is Isaac, I've been waiting on his book since the end of book one.
I had to push myself to finish ish this one. I skimmed through quite a bit of it. This could have been a short novella. It dragged on and on and became quite tiring. Not my favorite at all.
With this couple I expected more drama them what we bad. Overall a great read. One thing I did love was the epilogue and how it sets up the next book as it reads more like a first chapter
I get it, they love each other, Graham screwed up, seriously how many times is he going to apologize? It’s almost like he’d actually make Ty more upset with the repeated apologies.
This book was amazing I am so glad Graham came out to everyone and fought for Tyler as they both deserve happeniess. I really cannot wait to continue reading this story.
Fantastic love story, intense and absolutely incredible characters, a series that I hope goes on and o for many more books because I've got an addiction to it!
I love this series, and have been hooked from the beginning. Love cowboys and Crooked Bend has a bunch. I was glad to read Ty and Graham's story. On to the next couple from Crooked Bend.
The fourth book in this series and they just keep getting better. I enjoyed not having alot of angst and stress all the way through. Yes it started with a bit but once they got out of the closet it was clear sailing all the way. Love this family and how they work together.
