Caitlyn has always dreamed of vacationing in Ireland. After a disappointing divorce she decides its time she does something for herself. What she didn’t count on was meeting a charming and devastatingly handsome Irishman, Nolan in a pub. Unable, or unwilling to deny the chemistry between them she throws caution to the wind embarking on a whirlwind romance. Love is never as simple as it seems though, and hers takes a course she never could have predicted.
The reigning female in a house full of males, I live with my husband, sons and 100lb dog Duncan. Growing up I moved around quite often, so books became my best friends. I crawled into my imaginary world, and I never really left. Forever bookworm, caffeine addict, lover of cuss words, and hoarder of makeup.
The blurb for this book shot it to the top of my 300-book TBR list: love in a foreign country while on vacation, especially Ireland. As unlikely a couple as they seemed (much younger man and a women 10 years his senior), they both felt the same deep attraction for each other. I cried several times at their anguish.
But I did find it very odd that she didn't ask any questions of the guy she decided to hook up with for 2 weeks. Like why did he have nothing to do so that he was available to hook up for 2 weeks. Did he not work or have people who would wonder where he disappeared to for 2 weeks? That left me with a troublesome feeling until the answer was revealed.
Some reviews compliment the abundant sex scenes, and I love good erotica, but at 35% I began skimming through these to get to the meat of the story. They all started to sound the same. The author has a propensity for describing every article of clothing someone was wearing, and every step in the h's hair and makeup regime that I also began skimming over.
One star off for the dozens of proofreading typos, awkwardly structured sentences, technical errors, and the vulgarity and F language. When will authors learn that slinging the F-bomb doesn't make their story better.
I have fallen in love with Roman's writing. I loved Still Yours, and Definitely Memorable is, in my opinion, a better book. Like Still Yours, it's a story that would stand alone as a traditional romance, but for fans of steamy romance, her exquisitely detailed love scenes will leave you breathless. She writes with such raw emotion that I felt my stomach knot up when Caitlyn's did, I cried when she cried, and I felt joy when she did. Roman has crafted each character into someone you care about. Even the side characters are interesting and fully fleshed out. I really can't recommend this book highly enough.
Caitlyn, a divorced mother of two teen-aged sons, lands her an Irishman poet and love of her soul. Oh, and he happens to be younger than her. Uh...(cough) and he is a rock star! LOL
This was decent, and it was a quickie.
All in time for the reading challenge. I'm sure I have already fulfilled it. Just filling in spaces now.
The plot and storyline itself was very endearing. I like the chemistry between the two protagonists.
However as an Irish person reading I found the use of colloquialism and general dialogue of all the Irish characters very frustrating and not at all representative of Irish culture. I was tempted to DNF this book all the way through due to the leprechaun like dialogue.
This was my first book by Ms. Roman and I did enjoy the story. I was hooked from the first page to the last getting lost inside the pages. The age gap was just a blip on the pages…when you find your someone, your soulmate…you find them. I laughed and cried in equal measure -- laughed even harder when Nolan put Bryan in his place. This book does live up to the title - Definitely Memorable!
I thought the characters were great, and believable. I enjoyed their travels around Ireland, it made me remember both my girls trip there and a previous one. Looking forward to reading another by Cara.
