Rate this book
Does your sweet one child like my own had a lot of question or another "urgent necessity" instead of going to bed? This goodnight books for kids will provide the answer to most excuses young children have to avoid bedtime.

Has your child asked, "Why" all the time? Your kid does not want to take a bath or brush his/her teeth? Or maybe your child likes to eat some sweet cookies before sleeping. Maybe your child does not want to sleep because he or she is looking forward to meeting with friends tomorrow. If either of these is the case, then this bedtime story for kids is for you!

Does your child have a fear of monsters or darkness? Maybe he or she is very susceptible, and fairy tales just excite your child’s imagination, and maybe the fairy tales don't lead to sleep. Then try to use this goodnight book. There are no monsters or anything that can lead to fear and frustration for the child.

The author and the publisher very much hope your little one made it through all bedtime routine and falls asleep with our bedtime story books for boys.

Sean is an active toddler who would rather eat cookies and play with the cat than go to bed. Author Amanda Hembrow recommends her readers use their own child’s name instead of Sean’s—a trick that will only work if the child’s not trying to read along. But perhaps the assumption is active children would rather be read to than read.

Sean soon chooses not to be a night animal, since they sleep during the day. He also learns to be healthy and clean as he follows his bedtime routine; wise lessons for any parent and child to share.

Some children may learn new excuses not to sleep in this book, but if they follow Sean they’ll close their eyes eventually. And “anything is possible in a dream.” In real life, My Bedtime is a short realistic bedtime read about a very normal little boy.

Disclosure: I got this book on a deal when I wasn’t feeling sleepy.

A nice bedtime story and why we, as people do certain routines and need sleep.

Not only does Sean and his parents, especially his mother, talk about nighttime animals, bathing, brushing teeth, but also the importance of sleep and allowing our bodies to rest. She also tells him that on tomorrow there are plans for a picnic with a friend.

Perfect choice for parents of toddlers and preschoolers who have an excuse for everything when bedtime comes around. Sean wants cookies, doesn't see the need to take a bath, asks why some animals don't sleep at night, wonders about what he will do tomorrow, and claims he isn't sleepy. Mom and Dad patiently explain why Sean needs sleep and how he can be better when well rested. This simple tale will provide the answer to most excuses young children have to avoid bedtime. Simple illustrations with just enough text should lull your toddler to sleep.

This was a pretty quick book read which is perfect for the ages its geared towards. I especially liked that the illustrations weren't as typical or cookie cutter. They had a bit of abstractness to them that I think plays well into kids learning that everyone is different. The overall theme was pretty good. Teaching kids why we do things like sleep, eat, or take baths is a given, and when you can add those into a book that will hold their attention, even better. The only draw back I think is the fact some of the way the child "talks" is more towards what a grown up would say. Other than that it's a good quick book to add into rotation for kids bed time stories.

I like apples and cookies but I don't know that I like to sleep...

I felt this author and illustrator did a grand job of using this boy and his family to help their boy understand why taking baths and sleeping at his bedtime was important. So for these reasons I wish to recommend this for five stars as well as for those ages 2-5 and or in grades P-K. I received this for free using KU, in return, here's my honest review. Super work Amanda! By Sunny.
