HAPPY NEW BEGINNINGS
Once again, Ms. Maggie Ryan delivered an intriguing tale with a great cast of characters that just kept the pages turning, a book I did not want to put down. I enjoyed this military-related domestic discipline story of Major Brett Turner and his wife, Hannah. They decided by Hannah's request to enter a domestic discipline relationship on their one year anniversary because the stress of overdoing and over commitment was now affecting the house and their marriage. When Brett acts, Hannah doesn’t seem to take their signed agreement as serious as her husband and will push the issue until she learns he is very serious. Part of their agreement is they will also add regular maintenance spankings on Friday nights before the night is over, Hannah will experience a real spanking for disobeying, arguing, and not following his directive. It will also come with Brett’s own style of boot camp for Hannah that will include exercise, running, better eating and changes in attitude.
“You understood the consequences and, frankly, Hannah, wife or not, consider yourself enrolled in my own special boot camp. Your choice of behavior has brought you to this point, and the longer you take to obey me, the longer you’ll be across my knees getting you’re ass heated.”
Hannah did not have structured parents growing up, her mother acted like a best friend, and her Dad walked out on them when she was a teenager. She was never disciplined, and things need to change. Not having a reliable father figure, and hearing the word sir all the time, Brett will make her call him Daddy when she is being disciplined.
“My husband might be running this camp, but my daddy wouldn’t hesitate to step in and provide an incentive to obey. Pretty sure that encouragement had something to do with the wooden spoon he’d kept tapping against his thigh.”
The plot of the story is two people having a discussion, making an agreement and implementing into their marriage that will not have domestic discipline. Hannah will learn that she doesn’t have to chair every committee and that it is ok, to be honest, and say you can’t and also to ask for help.
She will learn that the other wives want to take part and in the process, she will gain friends and that critical support you need as a military spouse. Hannah, accepting discipline from her daddy husband may be painful, but she also learns it binds them closer and provides forgiveness. The sex between is more satisfying, and what she considered taboo, between two people who love each other and agree is acceptable.

With the help of another Army wife, she will start training to participate in a 5K and even a more grueling obstacle course called The Mudder. There is a great cast of characters, details, open and honest conversations, and punishments. A few intense and scary moments and growing experiences between this couple. The sex scenes are explicit and best of all; the story has a happy ending.

I really want to give this 4.5 stars, but since I can't, just imagine that there is a 1/2 star there. It will make me ever so happy. :)
I like Maggie Ryan and read anything of hers that I run across. She does a lot of Daddy Dom and age play stuff, and she writes it quite well. Her characters are generally well written, stories are well thought out, and I find a good deal of pleasure in falling into her stories. Daddy Commands isn't any different. I fell in love with Hannah and Brett. OK, maybe a little more with Hannah than Brett, mostly because the whole being female bit.
Hannah and Brett have been married for a year. While they love each other and their marriage is good, Hannah feels like she's drowning and out of control. She's trying to take on way too much and trying to be the perfect Army wife. That means that some of the home stuff is falling by the wayside. She asks Brett to help her get back in control of everything. They sat down and wrote an agreement over what he would be in control of and what her consequences are.
Brett is an Army major. He loves his wife and he wants to make sure that their family is strong and works well. That means that he's going to spank her and help her get back in control of herself, no matter what.

I thoroughly enjoyed this little gem! After Hannah starts neglecting the house and her husband while trying to be the perfect military wife, Brett decides its time to step in and show her how much he misses and loves her!! While shocked, Hannah seems to be secretly thrilled at her husbands dominant behavior. As time goes on, does she learn her lessons? Pick up the book and find out!
Maggie's writing style is perfect for this genre and I have come to love her stories!

This one was DNF for me. I only made it 20% of the way. This isn’t my usual genre (I don’t care for ddlg) but I read another one of the authors books that was okay so I gave this one a go.
Spoilers ahead.
Hannah goes beyond “reluctant” territory into non-consensual. I don’t care that they signed a paper. Both Hannah and Brett talked about how she didn’t want to do it. The next move - using his belt - is where the line crossed for me.
I’ve enjoyed many consensual non-consent books. I’ve read far more brutal punishment scenes than this. The issue here is that it isn’t written to be either of those and the term “domestic discipline” pretty much sums that up for me.

No storyline
The story is sex from beginning to end without any real plot. It is supposed to be a story about the husband taking control of his wife's life as she is stressing from too many commitments to keep up with cooking and cleaning. Control obviously occurs in the form of sex and spanking.
Brett is a soldier in special ops. He and Hannah adore each other, but they decide that he should control her and force her to submit to his decisions in order for her to relieve her stress. Hannah wishes to be the perfect officer's wife, chairing committees and organising events, but some things have to give. Therefore housework is last on the agenda and Brett usually returns home to ready meals and takeaways.
My problem is not with the activities described, but in the fact there seems to be something missing in this story. Hannah must submit to whatever he wishes, yet there is no realistic dialogue to accompany it. The total acceptance without serious conversation is a suspension of reality too far for me. It lacks the romantic vibe and is just all about list with a few 'I love you' thrown in. In fact there are more ' I own you' speeches.

Good premise in theory. This is a story with domestic discipline which I don’t mind. Some people love it, but it doesn’t really do anything for me. So, spanking for punishment without anything else too kinky... okay. Then, he’s telling his wife not to chair anymore committees. Also fine. She’s happy that her husband is helping her run her life and get her activities in order. Also, good for her. He tells her what to do to cut down on her activities, then the very next day he has her start running in the morning. Then, they go to Home Depot and buy seeds and plants for her to start a container garden. That doesn’t seem like cutting down on activities. Then, the next day she meets up with a lady who says they should start training for a 5K and a Mudder. This she keeps secret because she wants to surprise her husband. What? Makes no sense. None at all. So, would I recommend this book? Yes and no.

Hannah and Brett are married for about a year. Major Brett spends a lot of time at work and Hannah, as a military wife, is stressed out because she is overdoing things. She realizes she needs help, so she and her husband come up with an agreement that involves domestic discipline. Hannah doesn't take the agreement very serious, so when she gets her first dose of discipline she is shocked how much it hurts. But she also realizes that Brett's way of helping her makes her soar.
Daddy Commands is another beautifully written book by Maggie Ryan. I love this author and her books. She has such a vibrant writing style that makes her characters come alive and draws you into the story right from the beginning. The intimate scenes and spankings made me shiver and I could not help but fall in love with Hannah and Brett. I ended this book with a very happy sigh and I highly recommend it.

really liked the first book in the series, but I think the author actually stepped it up even more for this second book. Hannah was very relatable as I too tend to end up as the lead on a few too many projects. Brett was the perfect stern, military Dom. I loved the interactions between these two. Even though things weren't always perfect the love between the two characters was always evident. Stephanie and Gary were a nice addition to the story and were likeable enough to have their own book. I like the Daddy Dom theme that has become so popular recently and Maggie Ryan definitely made it work.

Maggie Ryan's domestic discipline books rock! You'll get that tingle that goes through all your girly parts when daddy commands his babygirl to do something naughty. I love this form of BDSM because the power is actually in the hands of the submissive, not the dominant. This books are not marketed as a series, but "Daddy Says" is another book that you might want to check out, written by the same author. Both are fantastic DDlg stories told by a master storyteller.

There is nothing better then ending the year with a Maggie Ryan book. This is a very light Daddy Dom book, There is no ageplay. Like the title suggest there is a military theme to the book. Brett and his recruit wife Hannah. It reminded me a bit of Army Wives.
There is a lot of love in this book. Brett and Hannah wanted a change in their life to help overwhelmed Hannah. Brett will do what ever he can to help and support his wife. The scene under the Willow tree was my favorite scene in this book.

I adore Maggie's books, she is the queen of Daddy Dom books! Definitely one of my favourite DD authors. I loved Daddy Commands, I started reading it late at night and couldn't put it down. I loved the plot of Daddy Commands, the characters had fantastic chemistry. Hannah was a little quirky while Brett was dominate, alpha and had my heart swooning with his protection of Hannah. It was a sweet, sexy, funny and fun read that was super addictive. I cannot wait to see what Maggie comes up with next.

Highly recommend this book, it has a strong plot with no holes.
This review contains no spoilers, but I will say the writing evokes the readers emotions and empathy. There is wit and humour and the characters are much more than their backstory you see their emotional scars.
The story contains daddy dom little girl (ddlg) scenes and the descriptions of the sex are necessary and not over the top.
It was an easy smooth read.

A great read of a married couple where the husband is an Army Major and the wife is taking on too much outside of the home. Brett and Hannah come up with a contract in which Brett will help her out and control her. As the contract plays out, he becomes like her Daddy Dom and of course she resists at first. Watching it all unfold is really hot and gives way to some great steamy scenes!

I just loved this story. It starts out with a bang and just keeps going. Ms. Ryan is the queen of Daddy Dom’s and really knows how to write them right. The ending was just fabulous. I really liked how committed Brett was to the contract. Hannah was a strong well written character too. I volunteer to read and review this book for SNP.

Started off a bit "preachy" to me. I hate a story that spends too much time justifying everything. Some explanation and context is good but many times it goes too far. Luckily things picked up. I found that for the most part this was a fun quick read that had a nice blend of discipline and eroticism.

Daddy Really Changed My Life!
This was such an enjoyable, sweet story where Brett became his wife’s DADDY, where he took her in hand and straightened out her chaotic life! She had gotten herself into volunteering to do TOO MUCH and their home life really suffered. Until he took charge and taught her to make their marriage and home her TOP priority!

I liked that this book starts with Brett and Hannah having a new beginning in their marriage. I liked that Brett was able to help Hannah because these two were so good together. I loved their chemistry and I also very much enjoyed their time at the Mudder.
