Break

so yeah this book got 4 stars, because maybe it wasn't as perfect as book 1, but that doesn't make it any less amazing or anything!
The writing is just as captivating as ever, i have grown in love with Clare's style and it's way over the top

Cam is trying to improve things for everyone. And at times that’s going to mean there has to be some kind of sacrifice.”
I said in the first part that Quinn was my absolute favorite character in the story, but in this part, not so much
i don't know why, but she stopped being so heroic like i expected her to? Cameron though (ma current book boyfriend) was surprisingly HEROIC!
He doesn’t have time for a relationship.” She smiled sadly, “But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want one.”
I don't know if it was intentional-or not, but i was craving to read anything from Cameron's POV,! THAT WOULD BE EPIC! ( i hope book 3 feature it)
The story takes a VERY unexpected turn right from 70 % in, i felt like i was running and running , i was BREATHLESS.
Well let's just say Clare can get you on your toes, and makes you needing book 2, right here, right now!!

After three months in Patrol, Quin now knows the ugliness that the Beck society attempts to hide beneath a carefully controlled veneer.
Those in Governance do not care about its citizens and only run society to their benefit. Why else would Clearance exist? Clearance, where citizens too sick, injured, or defiant are sent to be worked to the bone before being forcibly drowned at sea.
But now Quin has hope because a Resistance movement flows underground. Aided by Patrol officers Cameron and Tyler - as well as citizens from other sectors - the Resistance hopes to grow strong enough to wage war on Beck. But will they ever truly be strong enough to even try?
This installment, I’m pleased to say, is just as good as the first. The story picks up 12 weeks after Quin and friends were left reeling from the knowledge that Beck murders its weakest and questioning in a horrific manner.
Quin continues to develop as a character, and I’ve grown to like her even more. She’s thoughtful and empathetic. She truly fears for her friends Harper (who was sent to Clearance in book one) and Cass (who is even now attempting to move to the Patrol sector to be closer to Quin). She also makes friends easily because she is genuine.
I am also enjoying the sweet and slow-burn romance between Quin and Cameron. I can tell that something more is going to grow between them in the books to come.
The character I ended up liking after hating her at the beginning is Tyler. When Quin began in Patrol, Tyler seemed like a heartless trainer, one who belonged to Beck. This novel, however, gives more background on her, and so yeah, even Tyler is growing on me.
I can’t wait to see what book three has in store.

A lot of times, the second book in a series doesn’t quite measure up to the first book, but that wasn’t the case with this! There were some interesting plot developments, and the ending definitely left me eager to read book three! As I said in my review for Flow, I kept expecting the storyline to move a little faster, but I didn’t really mind the slower pace.
I’m hoping that, as the series continues, Quin and the other characters will be more fleshed out. They’re certainly not one-dimensional, but I don’t feel like I know a lot more about them than I did at the beginning.
That ending, though! I honestly wanted to start the next book as soon as I finished this one!

A cracking sequel that builds to an unforgettable climax.
Break picks up some weeks after Flow (Book 1 in the series) left off. I loved Flow and wondered if the author would be able to top it. Well, let me just say, if you find Break a little slow to start, just keep reading... You will NOT want it to end!
We get a bit more insight into the world of the Beck and its dark secrets, especially the mysterious "Dev" and "Meds" sections. And while the story is told from Quinn's perspective, I really enjoyed understanding more about Cam's character and the difficult decisions he's forced to make.
I'm not going to give any spoilers, but in the second part of the book, the action really starts to ramp up and I was turning pages faster than Cass can run. My heart was in my mouth for the final few chapters and the ending was fantastic.
Captivating writing, well-developed characters and a story you won't be able to put down. Highly recommended.

I needed to sleep off what happened in the last few chapters to be able to articulate relevant words for this review.
Where do I start? This novel enthralled me, I was already in love with the series after reading book one and I couldn’t wait to start this one. Though to be completely fair, even though I enjoyed this book it was a bit slow paced at the beginning.
The novel further investigates The Beck society and its hidden secrets. We got to see inside different sectors and interact with their citizens, and even though some of them gave me the creeps, it was still very interesting to read about.
And let’s talk about the ending which completely shattered my heart and left it in pieces. I was gaping the entire time not believing that this was happening and now I can’t wait for the next book, which I need asap.
My only issue with this book was that the characters seemed kind of off for me. I loved Quin in the first book but in this one I felt a little disconnected from her sometimes. Harper and Cameron each had their own moments where they really frustrated me, but then they gat back on the fight track again.
Overall, I was intrigued, enthralled and captivated; and I can’t wait for the next book.

I absolutely loved Flow, the first book in the series, and I was excited to read the second installment.
Whereas in the first book our main character Quin makes a lot of discoveries about The Beck, this one is more focused on how she and her friends try and find a way to fight back with the Resistance. Of course there are more secrets to be discovered and the only way to do that is to keep your head down and your eyes open.
While Break did not quite live up to my (high) expectations, in the over-arching story you really feel Break is gearing up to a pretty epic climax in the next book.

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, this series is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, un-put-downable and so engaging. Just like with the very first book in the series, Flow, I was on the edge of my seat and fascinated throughout the entire story. The events were as captivating as ever, and the plot twist! Ooh my poor heart! Just, grab your copies people, please.
In this book, Quin is still trying to adjust to her new lifestyle, balancing between both her role as a Patrol citizen, doing her job while following orders, and being a member of the Resistance, a group of rebels who disagree and hate the Beck’s harsh system. Trying to make a difference in the society, by secretly providing help to the ones in need, protecting the weaker citizens of the Beck from the unfair regime, and saving as many of them as possible before the government finds out about the Resistance.
Cass, Quin’s old best friend from Agric joined Patrol, after an assessment day the government declared necessary, considering the outer threats the Beck was expecting to face. As time goes by, Quin and the other members of the resistance found out, through a Dev member, the horrible truth about the real hidden role of the new patrol recruits. Unable to stay quiet and hand tied, they all vowed to intervene before it became too late.
The cliffhanger was just too much for me, I need the to read the next book asap.
Again, i highly recommend this series. Go for it guys, you wont be disappointed.

Picking up soon after the previous book, Quin, our main character, is still adjusting to her new position in Beck society as a Patrol officer. In this dystopian society run by strict rules, Patrol officers are given more knowledge than the average citizen, which introduces them to some of the hidden horrors “required” to maintain this society and defend against outsiders. Quin and a group of rebels are quietly plotting action against the Beck society in this novel. They must stay under the radar while helping as many as they can and preparing to fight back. In this book, we learn more about the upper levels of the Beck society, while Quin and her group of friends struggle to retain appearances of good citizens while the horrible actions taken by the upper levels only get worse in their desperation to maintain control.
Just like the first novel, this book keeps you on your toes, waiting to see what happens next. This book, though, has even more action throughout than the first one, as we learn more about what it takes to keep such a strict society running – and how the citizens affected react. The characters are well developed, and the plot is entertaining without being predictable. The organization of the society is well thought out, with interesting aspects to be learned throughout the book that keep you searching for more. Overall this is very well written and entertaining and deserves to be one of the top books in the genre. I am eager to read what happens next in the series, as we were left on another cliffhanger at the end of the book!
My only complaints would be about some of the minor dramas between the characters, which are so common in young adult novels – confusion over feelings that would be solved with communication. This does give some depth to some of the characters, but I always prefer when these clichés can be avoided or written in a new way so that it feels less familiar. I also wish there was more of it! I can’t wait for the next book, and I wish this one had been longer.

We start Drift three months after Flow ended and follow Quin work through her role as a Patrol citizen but also as a member of the Resistance. Governance is allowing some terrible things to happen, but rebellion will only make the problem worse. We learn more about the injustices of Beck society and its hidden secrets during a roller coaster of emotions with so many exciting and unpredictable twists and turns, it makes you want to keep reading well into the night.
Like the previous book, the characters are very well developed. Cam’s character has been built well as not only just a leader, but also one who will step back to help others get to where they need to be. He’s rational and puts a lot of thought into his actions. Quin was still a great character and reliable narrator, however is a little more impulsive than she was previously, and there seems to be some focus on her jealousy of others with Cam. However, this is only a side plot and does not overtake the main story at any point. I enjoyed learning about Tyler’s character, as well as Cass and Harper. And we meet Blythe; I felt so sorry for her.

I absolutely loved this series. The synopsis of the plot really intrigued me when I first saw this series. This book follows Quin and her life in "The Beck", a dystopian society. In each book, you follow Quin grow and find herself and what is important to her. I typically read a lot of romance books, but this book really caught my attention in other ways, which honestly is slightly unusual for me. While there is romance sprinkled throughout the series, it is more of a subplot than the main focus. To be completely honest, a lot of the time I will kinda zone out of series like this, but this book kept me completely interested until the very end. The plot is so well thought out and develops in a great way. I read each book in a day, as I never wanted to put it down because there was always some aspect of unknown hanging in the air. If I could have changed one thing about the series, it would just be the way it was ended in the epilogue. It was wrapped up well, but I wished for slightly more on the solution aspect and more exploration of Quin's romantic life afterward, but that is probably the romance enthusiast in me. Overall, I highly recommend this series. I guarantee that 99% of you will love it.

An enjoyable read with a good amount of action and not too much romance. Like many YA dystopian books this installment focuses on the resistance and our protagonists plan to escape. It is a little formulaic in places but it has a few nice touches too such as behind the scenes at meds and the relationship between Barnes and Blythe. I have found myself getting a little annoyed with Quinn and her selfish attitude which at times seems a little inconsistent. The writing styles is simple and the pace is pretty steady. I do find it annoying when authors keep recapping the previous book, I kind of think of someone hasn't read the first book that's their own issue, we dont all need a recap of whose who and what's happened. I'm sure some people like the recaps but if your reading one book after the other it's unnecessary.
Overall a good read. Not the most original of stories and not the most developed characters but an enjoyable easy read.

This is a Fantastic series. This is one of my favorite Series I have read so far. Quin transfers over to patrol and discovers the truth in the city she lives in. The citizens of Beck there lives are not important to the people in charge. She has joined the resistence to try and help save her and her people. She is learning alot of things shes wasn't aware of, there are alot of twists and turns. This series grabs you right from the start. Its right up there with the hunger games and the 100. This is one of those series I would love to see on Netflix. The Author does a fantastic job. This story is set at a great pace, and the world she has built you can really picture it in your mind as you read. I didn't want to put the book down. Its a real page turner. This is a definite must read, I would give it more than five stars of I could like 9.

Break was a great second book, I have to say Flow is still my favorite. From my point of view the plot in this one was a little slow at the beginning. I didn't felt that connected to Quin, the main character, as I did on the first book, I found her rather annoying at some points. But after some pages I really got into it, THE END WAS EVERYTHING! It was a great end leaving so much to think and expect for the third book. I also loved that we got to know some characters better and the add of others which was genius. Also that some of the mysterious becks secrets that were making me extremely curious was really well managed. The writing and simplicity of the author was as always amazing. It was an amazing sequel so far.

I eagerly dove into this second installment of the Flow Series. Things are changing and the awful truth has been revealed to the underbelly of how The Beck works. Quinn and her friends are challenged ever more and more especially when they join the resistance to try and make a difference. This was a bit of a harder read for me. The revelation of the true leadership and how they manage this civilization is beyond what my heart could cope with. Truly, I found myself slightly panting in stress. When the last word of the book rolled around, I gasped. Plans never go like they're planned and things go wrong. I anxiously await the third and final installment to this trilogy. I recommend this series to all who liked the Divergent series. You will find this a very close second.

This book was so different from the first one, yet it still managed to correlate itself into the first book! To begin, it reminded us of where we left off in the previous book and then elaborated on the time spent since that scene. The book picks up as there are more and more plans made, until some news upset their plans and everything has to happen then and there. The fast pace of the book makes it exciting and dramatic, yet also heartbreaking at several points. The challenges faces by the characters made me love them even more as they are so strong and brave inevitably making me feel so much for them. I could not wait to pick up the third book after i finished this one and that also was incredible!

Truthfully, the first book gives you no other option than to read the second one. As normal for most second books, this book dives deeper into the Beck society and its rules. We learn a lot more about the different sects of the Beck society and what each group does. Many new characters are introduced into the story too.
The writing in this book is just as captivating as the first and makes it hard to put down.
This book ends with another cliffhanger. This cliffhanger ending was harder to handle because we get to really know and are invested in the characters. I can't wait to read the third book and see how it all ends.

I read all three books. This was my least favourite of the 3 books. However, we get a little more of Quinn and Cam in this book. Their relationship develops a bit further. Cam tries to fight his feelings for Quinn to keep her safe. I wanted a bit more romance amongst the hardship in this book. I loved Mason and Jackson connection. I would have liked to have read more about them. Their love was more interesting than Quinn and Cam's at times. The end of the book was a nail clincher. It was suspenseful, sad, exciting, heartbreaking... just words can't describe it. You're happy but devastated all in one!

It's a timely story, not inconceivable considering the present state of our world, the concerns for the future of humanity and the planet that sustains us. Secrets and lies, heroes and villains, questions of morality, of faith and friendship. Well written, pacing that is urgent when it needs to be, contemplative when called for; relationships that feel real, characters who, in a real world, I could loathe or love. I am glad there are three books in the series: there is much to discover.

GreAt ya book.
4 stArs reflect my respect for the works of Veronica Roth and Octavia Butler, e.g. 3 StArs reflect my admiration for this author, the interesting world view she creates and occasional Complicated characters, all the while maintaining pg social commentary. Yes, I easily skimmed over 1/3 of it, being a much older ya, sigh, and finished books 1and 2 quickly. It was a Refreshing read and I happily purchased the set. I recommend this author and look forward to more worlds to come.

I had been looking for a good series to read and I had been looking for a long time and I stumbled upon this series and I was so glad for it! I've never read such a good series honestly, now I won't give any spoilers but this series will keep you hooked from start to finish. Its absolutely a wonderful dystopian series. The adventure is great and the feeling Clare expresses in her books is insane, I love this author and this series, thanks for the great experience.

In Break (Flow#2) by Clare Littlemore, Quin who has been in Patrol for 3 months, vows to protect those around her by joining the Resistance. She knows she is risking everything but time is running out. Quin must decide how far she is prepared to go to rescue those she loves. This book is part of The Flow Series complete series and so far I am enjoying every book and definitely recommend. This book along with other books in the series are available on Amazon individually and as a boxset.

I can’t believe it just ended! I need to know what happens next!
If I’m honest it was a bit of a slow start recapping from the first book but once it got going I couldn’t put it down. Couldn’t believe when I swiped for the next page just now that it was the end of the book. I’ll definitely be keeping a watch for the next instalment.

Continues to be A++
The second book in this series continues the high standards the first established. The characters continue to grow, their reasoning and thought processes continue to be realistic and believable. Their relationships are developing in a natural way and the reactions are what would be found in a real world situation. A definite must read.

I’m not sure what my problem is with this series but I’m really struggling to buy in to the Beck and the overarching premise of the community (basically, I’m just not connecting with it all). The writing is well done and I’d definitely recommend for that but I’m just feeling kind of indifferent. I’ll finish the series though because I want to see how everything plays out.

Once again, a fantastic book that I FLEW through!
These characters continue to grow and impress me. The pacing is quick. The world-building is detailed.
However, I was disappointed with Cam in this book! He really let me down. Jackson kept making excuses for him, but honestly I'm not sure if I trust him any longer. I hope the next book doesn't break my heart.

Great sequel!
I really love this dystopian world and the characters throughout. Expanding from book one, we meet new characters and learn the larger secrets held within The Beck. Building a resistance is nearly always a part of a dystopian world, and Littlemore has done such a good job keeping the story realistic while also pushing it to the limits. Giving the characters from book one larger roles and responsibilities, putting in surprising twists, and giving growth to the world all culminated into such a fun read! On to book three!
