Warning: It's goona be a pretty bad review of what seems to be a book loved by many. I don't want to offend those who loved the book and the author, who has put in effort to bring his thoughts into words.

The book feels like a teenage letter written for another teenager. The story is of teenage love and everything is predictable. The story is kiddish to say the least. It's goes something like this, a loves b, b loves a, c comes into picture and then things go awry. There are other characters to add to the story but they really don't do much.

Characterisation is pretty bad. The main protoganist, Neil, during the initial introduction, sounds like a very intelligent personality. 'Please don't come into conclusions' is what Neil asks the police who arrived to investigate the disappearance of his Girlfriend. It's not normal for a 20 yr old to reflect such thoughts under tense circumstances. While this seems good, unfortunately, as the story moves forward, Neil sounds like a normal guy. The author seemed to have lost the connectivity of what he wanted to portray Neil as and how he turned out to be.

There are many instances where I felt the writing was sloppy. A sex scene explained, 'Arya had pink nipples', sounded gross and immature. I'm sure there are Fifty Shades influence here but the execution is pathetic.

One sentence, 'Friends owe each other', is completely against my thought of how friendship is. Friends don't owe anything to each other. That for me is real friendship. If we owe something to someone, it's professional courtesy or at least that's how I would like to think of it as.

There are multiple times the author specifies the age of the characters. I guess it's to remind us how old these kids are and the actions they take are in relation to their age. I don't think it serves the purpose.

Overall, a poor read but who am I to judge, especially when there are many 5 stars for the book. It's probably best you pick it up and read it and decide.

‘Lost In Love’ is the second part of the ‘Messed Up’ Trilogy. Since I had not read the first book of the series, I wasn’t sure whether I would be able to follow up with the plot. However, the good thing is that you can take it up both as a continuation and a separate book, the latter working well for me.

The ‘Messed Up’ trilogy belongs to the genre of romantic thriller, something that is always a delight to read, and equally difficult to execute. While many authors have done justice to this genre, a larger number has disappointed, trying to establish a plot, but then falling prey to the clichés. To which category, then, would I place ‘Lost In Love’?

The book starts on a highly expectant note for me. Gauri, live-in partner and girlfriend of Neil, goes missing one fine day, and our protagonist Neil is caught in the midst of the investigation. He is questioned, fingers are pointed, and the story looks promising. At this point of time, I couldn’t avoid comparison with Gilian Flynn’s masterpiece ‘Gone Girl’, and was eager to turn the pages.

However, what could have been a racy and gripping thriller quickly fizzles away. There were some moments of suspense, true. There were a few twists here and there, true. Arvind does have power in his words, true. But what lacked was the most important ingredient of any book – a coherent storyline.

Arvind establishes the plot based on a loose outline. The characters are hazy, and come in and out of the frame. Even the protagonists are not introduced in a proper manner. Neil’s personality remains vague throughout the novel. His feelings are confusing, and his memories of Arya seems unconvincing. His conflicts with Arya don’t help either. The characterization of Gauri, the female lead, is left to readers’ imaginations. There is no description of her nature; the only point being reiterated after every few pages in the novel is that she is a beautiful girl, nothing more. The other characters too fall prey to a seeming lack of identity. They don’t leave much of an impact, and we fail to relate with any of them. It is like a bunch of Lego blocks that a reader has to arrange to give a proper form to the characters.

Another big disappointment is the poor depiction of intimate scenes. The description is graphical rather than sensual, which proves to be a letdown. There is no art, or literature, and the whole love making scenes turns out to be shallow.

However, credit should be given where it’s due. I have seen a large number of new age authors coming up with books featuring grammatical errors. Arvind, and the editorial team, ensures that there are no lapses on that end. Arvind’s language is crisp, his writing fluent, with hardly any silly errors. If Arvind is able to bind the plot together and weave a stronger storyline in his subsequent novels, he can be a name to reckon with in the literary industry. The author does have the flair; he only needs to execute it well.

The cover of the book is bright and appealing, something that would soothe your senses. Srishti Publications have been nurturing young authors and giving them the platform to showcase their dreams. The onus, now, lies upon the authors to do justice to the stage.

'Lost in love' by Arvind Parashar is a heart- wrenching romance thriller which will swipe you off your feet . This is sequel to the bestselling book ' Messed up ! But all for love ' and will definitely touch your hearts like the first one in the series .

The story begins with Neil , who is completely devastated as he has lost his only reason of living - Gauri . The matter worsens and Gauri's disappearance becomes headline . As the cops tries to join the dots , Gauri's best friend , Itishri , and Neil's Ex , Arya , comes into picture .
Is Gauri really abducted ?
Is there someone behind all this ?
Will Neil and Gauri be able to live up to the promise of together forever ?
Will Neil be found or lost in love forever ?

Grab this engaging tale to know what destiny holds for Neil and Gauri .

The cover of the book is catchy enough for any reader to pick the book immediately . The title is totally apt and intriguing . It goes perfectly with the theme of the book . The blurb of the book is crispy and enticing .

The plot of the book is very unique . I totally loved the twists and turns in the book . The suspense element was the heart of the book and it kept me hooked till the end . The author has very beautifully described the teenage phase , where we are naive and tend to take impulsive actions which can even destroy our lives . The characters are beautifully crafter and are given the right space and emotion. The language is lucid and the occasional use of the Hindi added spice to the book . The climax is something very unexpected and it intacted my belief in happy endings.

It was a pleasure reading and meeting my favourite couple - Neil and Gauri . And how can I not mention the beautiful pieces of poetry which took my heart away . A perfect amalgamation of friendship , love , jealousy , crime and thriller . A must have book in your shelf .

Thank you for this copy @srishtipub.
🍃
Lost in love is the second book in the trilogy of Messed up series and unfortunately, it wasn't my cup of tea. Read the full review to know why.
🍃
The story starts mysteriously when Gauri, girlfriend of Niel goes missing and the police starts questioning him for her disappearance. He gets entangled in the investigation and gets accused of being the culprit. This part had my attention because who doesn't love solving a crime mystery? But as soon as the book gained momentum, it fell flat.
🍃
I personally wasn't too fond of the protagonist's character. Niel is confused about his feelings, and unable to get over his first love Arya. It also makes us wonder as to why the author didn't stress much about Gauri's features. Her characterization wasn't part of this book and it makes you conjure up your imagination in picturing her. The plot was damp and the storyline wasn't too appealing.
🍃
This book is basically to know whether Guari was actually abducted and will they be able to revive their love. There were a few page-turning scenarios but without proper characters, it didn't seem to go anywhere. The pace of the story was too slow and my mind often kept wandering. I truly tried to enjoy this book but in the end, I realised that this book wasn't for me.
🍃
Though the author has a stronghold on vocabulary and language, he should have focussed more on developing the characters strongly. The plot was predictable and often ends up confusing readers while merging both past and present scenarios together. No offence to the author and readers but I rarely give ratings below 2 and this one falls under that category. The book was childish in my opinion.
🍃
I would rate this book 1.5/5.

‘Lost In Love ‘ is a story about Gauri and Neil. The story was different than other love stories. The writer has beautifully portrayed the emotions of teenagers. The author has crafted all the characters really well. The plot of the story is good and storyline is nice.

You cannot guess what is going to happen next. The title justifies the story well. Author has used very simple language in the book.Though it ended on a happy note, the story still lacks something. Overall the book is a good read with thrill, mystery, twist and turns.

I would recommend this book to all who wish to read romance thriller genre books!

Lost in Love is story of Neil and Gauri. A pure romance novel. You can call it as a young gen. love story. Nothing new in this book. A one time read. Writing and plot was OK type. If you are a romance book lover , go for it. You cannot expect any thrilling finish.

REVIEW

Lost in Love is a story about two people Neil and Gauri and their love of how they met and fell in love with each other. This is not an usual love story but a tragedy of friendship, love, betrayal and the emotions of the teenagers and how things go with them in the new age.

The author has portrayed each emotion really well and has put forward the best he could. The aftermath of reading the story was different than other stories. The character description and the plot line went handy and easy, though some predictions could be calculated.

Book had an easy language and the sadness of finishing the book was downcast because it was a joy to read the book. I haven't expected it to be so good.

Before I start this review let me give you an idea of what kind of books I like reading. I am a hard-core romance lover. I seek love in my books, dramas and even music. Be it a thriller, comedy or horror, a few drops of romance and I am happy. So reading romance novels makes me the happiest. But sometimes, some romance novels are so damn clichéd and predictable that I feeling like tearing the pages of the book. I am not against cliché. I have said this in a lot of my drama reviews that I like cliché. But some books squeeze out every bit fun from even clichéd plots. For me, Lost In Love is one such book that made me scream in exasperation. This book is supposedly a part of a series written by the same author. I have not read any of the previous books by this author and after reading this one I am glad I hadn’t. I went on to Amazon to see what others felt about this book and I was stunned to see that the book has 4.6 out of 5 ratings. Readers have praised this books’ lead couple so much that it made me wonder if I am being too cynical. Then I had a look at the last few dramas and books I reviewed and realised that as long as I am watching the dramas I watch and reading the books I read there is no way I can ever turn my back to love. If you are a fan of this writer then please stop reading right now as I am going to vent out in detail how much I regret wasting my precious time on such a book.

I LIKE Lost In Love Because,
…whaaaaaat? No, I didn’t like the book at all. If there is anything I appreciated about it then that would be the Parashar’s writing. Yes, I have complaints about the plot and characters but the author evidently has a flair for writing. It was his smooth writing that helped me see the book to its climax otherwise I would have dropped it mid-way. The day Parashar pens a book with better fleshed-out characters and an interesting storyline I will surely buy it because I like his writing.

I Do NOT Like Lost In Love Because,
…there is absolutely no character description in the book. Neil says ‘Gauri is beautiful and different from other girls’ and I am supposed to believe that. Yeah right! Gauri gushes about Neil being the most ‘dashing’ boy in her school and I am supposed to believe that. Yeah, right! Throughout the book, I could imagine nothing, as the writer has neither described the characters nor the surroundings. As a reader, I am supposed to imagine a boy who is handsome and girl who is beautiful. That’s it. That is all the author gives me to imagine. This lack of description is what disappointed me the most.

…the book starts with a lot of brooding by Neil. So, Neil’s live-in partner is missing and it is obvious that he is going to freak out. But the author uses up a lot of pages describing what Neil is going through and how much he misses his girlfriend. The narrative swings between past and present and if he is missing his current girlfriend Gauri in the present, he is busy complaining about his ex-girlfriend Arya when talking about his past. So, you see too much of negativity right at the start of the book.

…there is a lot of unwanted ‘life lessons’ in the book that I hate the most as a reader. I see this as a very common trend in a lot of such romance novels where writers really enjoy giving free gyaan. This book too has a lot of lines that start with ‘In life XYZ…….’ or ‘Sometimes in life you have to….’. In a romance novel, I expect to read about the lovely moments spent by the lead couple, I don’t need philosophy. There are books available in that genre. I’ll buy them when I need them. Don’t give it to me in a romance novel.

Final View: Go for this book only if you have liked any of the previous books by this author.

Review
'Lost in Love' This book is about the teenage love story of Gauri and Neil. I have read each and every book by this author and Liked it. This book is a sweet love story. Gauri who loves Neil from last 7 years and Neil who recently broke up his relationship with Arya. Wil Gauri confess her love, how will their lives change? What all happens when Gauri will go Missing?.

Well to me it was a good read but this book is for teenage lovers. The plot is unique but predictable. One will witness lots of Emotions while reading this book. Love, jealousy, friendship, relationship everything is portrayed very well. This story is about Arya who dump Neil and later she realises her mistake, till then Neil was in a happy relationship with Gauri. The plot starts with Gauri is missing and everyone questions Neil about her. The police investigation has begun. One by one Inspector Dhaya finds the clue and solves the mystery.

I loved the names of characters, they are unique and relatable. As I said the plot is unique but predictable. The pace of the story is too slow, with which I was too bored. The story started well but then it started losing its grip as it was proceeding. The Narration of the story was good, but it was switching from present to past, then again present which was confusing. Also, it was shifting from Arya to Gauri to Neil. One can get disconnect from the story. The language that the author used is simple and Interesting. There's a good hold on Language. The Tempo is also good as it has Mystery, love, friendship, everything. The climax was something unpredictable. The author made Characters with a strong personality.  I loved Neil's character and didn't like Gauri's character Much. Arya, Itishree, Tom, Dhanya each and everyone had their own importance in the story. Each personality was different. The Narration is too much. Felt like the story is dragged.
But It's a sweet, light read. I finished it in a go.

Overall, It's a good read for teenagers. It's a teenage love story with lots of Mystery. If you like reading Romance, this book is for you.

Book Name: Lost in Love
Author: Arvind Parashar
Genre: Romantic Thriller
Publisher: Sristhi Publishers
Note: This is the second book in the Trilogy, as promised I am back with the review of the second book in the LOVE trilogy.

Plot: Neil had many questions related to his life. Having suffered a total eclipse of the heart, dumped by Arya, he had nowhere to go. He was completely shattered. Till one fine day, when his friend Gauri, who had a crush on Neil ever since her childhood, comes into his life and they begin their journey of love, romance, fantasy and fairy tales.
Not for long, as their world comes crashing with a tragic, life-turning event. This is a heart-wrenching romance thriller that is bound to move you and hit your soul as you take a plunge and get Lost in Love.

My opinion: In the previous book, we came across the broken relationship of Neil and Gauri, but this book is quite different and unique from the first one. The genre thrill is blended well with a touch of romance to give a heart warming, curious and healing read to the readers. Not comparing but as I reader I actually felt that is book is written in a more precise manner. Must say that, the author has well played with his words and characters to give a filmy touch to the book. I also loved the villian character in book- Arya (which was actually giving a spicy touch of Indian romantic thrillers). Now, after reading this am eagerly waiting to read the last book in the trilogy which will probably released on 10th Nov 2018. If I get my hands on it, will surely review it, because I know it surely gonna amaze us!

Pros: As a reader I was completely happy and satisfied after this read, the cover is so beautiful as always, flimy read, so many elements with beautiful and alluring characters, portrayed well. Also, the main protagonist characters are not messed up with the background characters. Storyline was really relatable and heart touching.
Highly recommend, waiting eagerly to read the next book in the trilogy.

Cons: Bit abusive words used, drugs usage and etc stuff mentioned which couldn't be like by some readers.

Rating: 4.4🌟

Lost in love is a beautiful love story of Neil and Gauri. Neil falls in love with Arya but she dumps him. This leaves Neil heartbroken as he truly loved Arya. Then one day he meets Gauri who secretly loved him from last 7 years. They become good friends and then they fall in love with each other. Neil is not able to give much time to Gauri and this hurts her a lot. One day Gauri goes missing and police suspects Neil for this. Itishree who is Gauri's best friends plays an important role in this story. They share a beautiful bond of true friendship and they are just like real sisters who loved each other so much! When Gauri goes missing and everyone thinks that she is kidnapped, Neil and Itishree are the one who are most affected by her disappearance. Will they be able to find Gauri or not, you'll have to grab this novel.

The language used by Author is simple and easy to understand. I found the book cover really attractive and the title apt. The book is fast paced and can be read quickly in one go. I absolutely loved reading this book. I have read other two books by author Arvind Parashar and I am impressed by all three unique stories. I would highly recommend this book to all romance lovers.

I would like to give it 5/5

This book is quite different and unique from its prequel, the genre thrill is well blended with a with a touch of romance to make you curious enough. Not comparing but as a reader I felt this one is written more precisely coming back to the story it is about Neil who was dumped by Arya who loved alot and was dumped by her , he was completely shattered and had nowhere to go. It is a story Gauri's childhood Crush Or to be more precise love. Gauri and Neil end up together and their fairy tale tale love story begins but not for too long because soon their world world comes crushing ,some life turning events happened along. This roving experience is title as lost in love. I can promise you at the end of this story you will feel extremely satisfied.

Teenage Romance

If you're into only Romantic Novels give it a shot lest don't. I understand this is fiction but too much of exaggerated plot twist with unrealistic circumstances were created just for the sake of story. I believe that it could have been written better captivating the reader but lengthens without actual change in the story.

An average love story. The author has dragged the plot too much. He starts with a mystery and goes on to write a love story making it neither a good mystery nor a great romance. The descriptions are pale, writing style is over narrative and plot is excessively hyped. Not worth the time and money

A story of love. How it all started between Neil and Gauri. How they met in college. How someone tried to destroy their love life in the start. It's all in it. In this Romantic thriller trilogy this is the second book after messed up but all for love. Read and enjoy it.
