Talk about a book hangover. I'm not quite sure where to even go with this review. First off, no matter what you think you might think it isn't that way. Just when you think you understand what is going on, bam L.D throws a curveball. Second, this book is so messed up you have to finish it! Holy crap. Third, these characters are so intertwined together that you have no idea how it's going to end till it does. Bottom line- this is a must read!

I will say that there are triggers, drugs, cheating, murder, BDSM, FF, FMF, although it doesn't get detailed, you know its happening.

If you love dark and twisted books- as I wouldn't say this is a romance per say, this is a book for you. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

Dark, edgy, twisted, fierce, angst, sassy, exciting, suspense and spine-tingling steamy chemistry! Deliciously dark and OMG! This story has blown me away in the most thrilling way. As this story progressed, I just couldn't imagine with way(s) it would go and then cresting the final pages - my imagination was shattered. I have not previously read any works by L.D. Fox, but this story was beyond amazing. It whet my appetite, while at the same time left me craving for me because it was that addictive.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. The book started off a little slow but after a couple of chapters it starts getting really interesting. What I liked about this book was you never know what was going to happen next especially the ending. If you like romantic suspense then you should read this book.

Mister Sugar is a twisted, tragic, messed up story and I loved every filthy dark word of it!!!

Angel is looking for a sugar daddy and she set her sights on Drew Sugar, father of her friend Penny. She knows that a tragic accident claimed his wife about a year ago and ever since then he's been basically working himself to the bone. When she shows up at Drew's house he knows almost immediately what she is after and it isn't just a place to crash until Penny shows up. Oh no, she is most definitely after his money and he knows she thinks that he's an easy target. I mean a lonely forty-six year old man, a young beautiful twenty year old woman, very little clothing, yeah she's working the get him hooked with the sex angle and then she's thinking he'll give her anything she wants. Little does Angel know Mister Sugar is not naive and she might've met her match in Drew, because he has some skeletons in his closet and he'll do anything to his secrets. Then we throw in his pretty forty something neighbor, his jerk of a twin brother and this story gets out of control fast!!!!! This story is intense, dark, sexy, tragic and everything in between. I could not put this book down once I started reading it. I loved this dark read and it comes with one heck of a twist that will make you question everything. Grab this awesome book today, you won't be disappointed!

I couldn’t put this book down. The characters are awesome and you kind of love and hate them all. I certainly didn’t see the ending happening the way it did. Absolutely loved this book!

Well I’m not really sure if I should really leave a review because everyone else seemed to love this but if I’m being completely honest I had to force myself to keep going, but once started, had to finish! But what the hell did I just read? Not a short story either! (Or maybe just felt that way) Totally baffled? I mean what was it all about? What was the ending all about? 🤔, I’m sorry but nothing was actually explained or resolved, I like dark storyline’s but I like to know the why at the end, it just didn’t make sense to me or maybe I just missed something? I’m not leaving less than 3 neutral stars because obviously it’s just me because everyone else loved it, so would be totally unfair or me to leave less.

This is one author who really knows how to ratchet things up you start reading her books with a premise in your head but by the time you are finished you haven't done a 360 degree turn you have done multiple spins she is an artist at twisting her stories so they never end or play out quite the you expect and with this book she has done it yet again.

I am not going to give spoilers because the artistry of this book would be destroyed Let's just say that Drew Sugars life is imploding around him and when Angel enters his life things get even worse with a brother like Bryce he needs all the help he can get. This book isn't for the faint hearted there are more twists and turns than anyone could expect and there are plenty of triggers for people but boy when you persevere you know you have read a brilliant book.

I was given a copy of this book but this is true and honest review

ONE DARK AND THRILLING READ!!!
This ain't no Twilight Zone. Holy crap! Talk about deep, dark and twisted. If you like living on the edge with a plethora of events, emotions and dark cravings, congrats my friends you've found it. Twisted, twinned and put through the wringer as you watch totally frozen to your seat, holding your breath waiting for the other shoe to drop. Drop it did. I don't know what Logan used as inspiration, but holy hell this is one over the top page turning, nailbiting, heart pounding, pulse racing, spine tingling and explosive situations I've ever had the pleasure to read. The drama and suspense builds as the tension spirals, following mesmerizied as the tale unfolds. Logan did an excellent job bringing this read to life. Fantastic job Logan, thanks for sharing.

A dark, twisted, psychological brilliant story. The term curveball in the dictionary would have a picture of this book. When I started it, I wasn't sure what to make of it but my goodness the deeper you swim in this dark ocean the more you are don't want a life raft.

I couldn't believe how twisted the twists were and that ending was genius. There are triggers but this one wouldn't work without them. It's crazy in these pages and I loved every brush against the twisted thorns. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this as an ARC

This book turned out to be nothing like I thought it would be. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat while I tried to guess what would happen next. The characters boggled my mind as my opinion of them swung back and forth. This is a dark read so if that's not your thing you might pass it up but for myself LD Fox had me hooked!

Revenge is sweet. Started off with a manipulative visitor, an egotistic brother. Slut neighbour. When all is revealed, who do you empathise with, Drew or Bryce? Bryce started it .........!

I think I did it all wrong again...

I got sucked in... completely. I could so totally identify with Drew. Maybe I'm just a bit messed up. Or a lot. But come on, after the messed up shit they did to him? A guy is allowed a bit of a reaction. Right?

I'm a bit shocked to come back to Amazon and find it was a 406 page book. I flew through it in no time at all. It was so easy to read, and I just had to know what came next, so putting it down wasn't an option. I really loved it.

This is a disturbing psychological, dark, twisted romantic suspense. A little slow at first, this book takes my full attention by the end. This was my first L.D Fox's book.

Very twisty!

I read this through, not putting it down, till complete. Wow, it was a dark one with some fun and normalcy, at times. I hated that being twins, they did not have more love for each other. Of course being a sociopath might be why. The book never says or goes into that. Twist after twist in this book, and I want more.

When I began this book, I didn’t know the author and I didn’t read the blurb.
I was in virgin territory with an open mind. And what a good surprise this story was!
Intriguing and smart.
Too bad the cover is so...lame. 5 stars minus an half point because of it.

Very predictable

I’ve never written a bad or negative review but I feel like I have to after reading all of the good reviews because I felt totally misled by the other reviewers. It’s people’s reviews that help me decide to buy a book and the 5 stars reviews lead me to believe I was in for one heck of a page turning good read that was sexy and dark. One or two readers said it was slow but picked up in the middle so I kept waiting for it to really get good but it never did. I started skimming over pages and had to stop myself from just going to the end and finding out what happened but I stuck it out and felt disappointed.

**SPOILER ALERTS**
First, really disliked all four main characters although I did think Kelly got a raw deal and didn’t deserve what happened to her.
They were such horrible STUPID people. It was so unbelievable that Drew would even invite his brother to the lake house after what his brother did to him a few days before. It was such a lame excuse as to why he was inviting Bryce. Also, Bryce went willingly like it was no big deal his brother invited him to clear the air after Bryce did the most horrible thing to him. Also, never would a woman like Kelly go to a lake house knowing the man she thought she liked had slept with another woman and the woman would be there too - just the three of them, insane and stupid! And yet, she drove six hours to a lake house in winter to be with the man she has no intimate relationship with yet and his young lover?????

Second, the author never gave the reader much background on the brothers. Yes, it was explained at the end why the brothers hated each other so much (which was very easy to figure out so there wasn’t no big surprise there) but it was never explained why they had such a bad relationship before everything happened. Didn’t explain why the woman they both loved went back to Bryce after he so cruelly dumped her and from what we were told Drew really cared for her.

It seemed like the author was trying to convey that Drew had this really evil side he hid away and it just didn’t seem believable.

Last but not least, reading the end of the story was painful. Angel had to be the most stupidest character ever. She’s totally freaked out at the end yet makes stupid decision after stupid decision.
I guess I like my female characters to have more intelligence. The end left me frustrated.

Having read Fox's "Fox Pit Billionaires" series, I guess I shouldn't be surprised with how this one played out. If you've read Fox's work before, then you know that it's dark and twisted and never what you expect. Just when you think you have figured it all out, boom, the author changes things on you and you're left baffled. This book was no different and definitely enjoyable and full of suspense. I wouldn't really classify this as a dark romance either. I mean there's some romance, but by the end, you're second-guessing all that romance and just classifying this a psychological thriller. I love those types of books, so I was fine with it. I stayed up way too late finishing this book one evening, so it's one of those that you just don't want to put down.

Mr. Sugar is widowed, a workaholic and is surprised when his daughter's friend Angel shows up at his house sans his daughter. She's a gold digger and tries to seduce Mr. Sugar. He resists for a while but eventually gives in. That's the only 'nice' part about the book - it goes dark from there. We get into the head of Mr. Sugar and he's not at all what he seems - really, no one in this book is what they seem. We get to the lake house and then a curveball changes my perception of all the characters.

The only thing I didn't like was the ending. It just felt incomplete (but the Fox Pit series did the same thing). I would have liked to see even further into the future and find out what happens with Mr. Sugar and Angel. Otherwise, this was a great psychological thriller that is totally unpredictable.

On a side note, there are a lot of triggers, so it's not for the faint of heart or those who are sensitive to certain triggers.

Disclaimer: I received an ARC for my honest opinion.

I have tried to read this on more than one occasion but I had a hard time with this book. Drew just wasn't a very good lead male in my opinion. Angel was harder to connect with as well for me. I normally love darker romances but this just really hard for me get into and finish. I didn't like their personalities as Mr. Sugar is more of a whiny person to me. Angel is just crass. These were my thoughts as I started reading the book but then all of sudden the atmosphere of the book changed. It became so intense and there was so much mystery, drama, suspense and intrigue. This will blow your mind on how it ends. You get to a point in the story that it becomes were you can’t put it down until you reach the end. It is most definitely worth reading and won’t disappoint if you like dark romance.

I won this book from Goodreads (kindle version) and Amazon for an honest review.
This is a very explicit story and not typically my taste. With that said, it is well written and the characters are complex. This is a bit of a graphic (in sexual nature) story and can be disturbing to some. Yet the author does paint a good story with a plot and not just sex. This story is fast-paced and well constructed. There is a bit of a suspensefulness to it and keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what is to come. For a story I would generally not have selected I did find it very entertaining to read. I do recommend this story to anyone that likes a bit of steam in their books with a lot of thrill.
