Everyone's favorite redhead, the spunky Anne Shirley, begins her adventures at Green Gables, a farm outside Avonlea, Prince Edward Island. When the freckled girl realizes that the elderly Cuthberts wanted to adopt a boy instead, she begins to try to win them and, consequently, the reader, over.
By retelling the story in a shorter, simpler form, children will find these books highly engaging, and the color illustrations help with both comprehension and interest level.

What a wonder story. This young adult book is about a young orphan girl, who by a fortuitous accident, ends up living with a reclusive brother and sister in Avonlea at Green Gables.
Anne is spirited and always in trouble but never loses her sense of wonder in the world. Her appreciation of nature and her vivid imagination help her through various trials in her life. And in spite of her dreamy nature and ‘mistake’ laden life, she is extremely likable and fits into her new life with little difficulty. As much as she gains from having a home with Matthew and Marilla, they gain from her. Everyone’s life is fuller as we learn to appreciate the blessings in our life through Anne’s eyes.
This collection had me laughing at Anne's hysterics and crying when she was heart broken. I'm glad I listened to this collection. It's very rare to see a character grow up overtime.
