She'd given up on love, until he gave her his.
Abigail Bennett has the worst taste in men. Her husband left her for another woman and her boyfriend was a liar and a cheat, so the last thing she wants is another relationship. Sex on the other hand—or her total lack of it—is an ongoing concern. But maybe Wolf can help? And not just in the bedroom.
The annoyingly sexy, dominant author is exactly the type of man she needs to keep her ex-husband and his wandering hands at bay, but Wolf’s help comes with a price, and while Abby is willing to take him into her bed, she’s determined to keep him out of her heart.
Wolf Adams has one month to complete his manuscript and get it to his publisher, or forfeit his substantial advance. Sent to the country on retreat, the city boy is certain the change of scenery will motivate him to finish the book. But when he meets Abigail Bennett, he enters a game of cat and mouse unlike anything he’s faced before.
Unable to resist the voluptuous artisan, Wolf agrees to pose as Abby’s boyfriend and help ward off her ex’s unwanted attention, but only if she helps him finish his book. Because while he's happy to play her games, he has a few rules of his own…
Jennie Kew is an award winning author who writes contemporary Australian slice-of-life erotic romance novels, and contemporary and paranormal short erotic stories.
When not sitting in front of her computer, Jennie can be found reading a book, watching a movie or building Lego.
She lives in regional New South Wales with her husband, her husband’s magnificent beard, and their menagerie.
Jennie Kew writes hot, erotic romances. I’ve read some of her shorts and loved them. So reading one of her full length novels was a given. In this book, Abby belongs to the family clan locally known as the Bennett’s Bastards. I love that Abby comes from an extended family of half-brothers and sisters, and that they're fiercely loyal and supportive of one another. Her siblings make secondary character appearances in this story, and I can see Jennie setting up some threads for their stories in this series. Wolf is an author on a deadline, sent to the country property Abby owns on an enforced writer's retreat to finish his book. He's dealing with some intense personal issues, and unbeknownst to him, Abby's home and his attraction to the host is just the panacea he needs to motivate him into meeting his deadline. Both Abby and Wolf have been unlucky in love but from the get-go their attraction steams up the pages. Their D/s relationship is an intense, emotional rollercoaster ride as they discover what they mean to each other and work through their separate (past) relationship issues. Abby’s story tugs at the heartstrings (for me, this was truly her story, it engaged me as a reader right from her opening scene) and Wolf is one, hot alpha Dom who helps her to discover that he’s the one for her. A great read and the first in a new series – can’t wait for the next one.
This is so well written that you can't help but fall into the story. It's passionate and sweet. I liked how well paced it is, giving ample time to really get a sense of the characters and love.
WOW! Jennie Kew really hit it out of the ballpark with this series! Book 1 was IN - credible! I loved EVERYTHING about this story! The story was perfect, the characters well developed, the writing SUPERB - it ALL came together SPECTACULARLY! Jennie Kew was a “new to me author”, but she is now a FAVORITE!!! ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😭
I was a little cautious going into this as I'd never read a book which explored BDSM and (if I'm being completely honest), it's not a theme I would set out to read. But, and this is a total credit to the author, after reading book 2 first and loving it, I wanted to learn more about the Bennett's. In this book, the relationship between Abby and Wolf captivated me so much, I found myself hooked and unable to put the book down. This was about so much more than just their physical relationship and more about learning to trust again after being hurt, about the acceptance of oneself, and about how, when we find someone we can trust wholeheartedly, we can heal from the pain of our past. I love Jennie's writing. I loved the emotional development between the characters. I loved the ending - how Wolf demonstrates what true strength really is.
Wow. Abby and Wolf are smoking hot. I like the character development in this story. I love the strength in Wolf and the determination under the fear in Abby. I love the secondary characters. Her five brothers that come to visit are a hoot. I was a little annoyed with Jane, the best friend. Of course, Richard is a true Dick. The smexy times were definitely smoking hot and a bit outside my comfort zone, but what a story. The drama and angst moved the story along at a nice pace. The writing is well done.

Hot, sexy, steamy romance. Great adult characters and a well developed relationship story that made you root for them as a couple. There was also a lot about how their BDSM play/desires shape their relationship, but it wasn't out of context of the events and instead helped propel their characters and storyline froward. They weren't idealistic millionaire vs innocence troupes with perfect bodies, but more realistic relatable characters. To be fair, I don't know many female blacksmiths or male fantasy authors, but they were described in a way that made you feel like they weren't un-relatable.
The Bennett's Bastards premise is intriguing and I've started purchasing as they're released. Definitely recommend.
What to say, what to say. This story was crazy, but it a good way. It will take you on a roller coaster of emotions. Whew! I'm trying hard not to spoil anything, as it was so good that I didn't, and couldn't put it down; at least not for long, anyhow. The characters, even the secondary, are well written, as is the story. And the way the heroine meets our hero?!. Well, let's just say it was fun! ;)
I am reviewing an advanced copy that I requested, but I fully recommend purchasing this book as soon as you possibly can.
What a roller coaster of a read! Meet Abby, a woman with so many issues, yet still a force to be reckoned with. Along comes Wolf, a man with an empathetic soul and a lustful way about him. Add a nosy country town, a dickhead ex, 6 gorgeous brothers and make sure there is nothing on the stove be sure you will not put this book down until it's finished. Almost didn't want it to end.
Never before had I read a book by Jennie Kew but I am sure it will not be my last meeting with her writing. Throughout the story I thought, “This story hits the right note.”
The meeting between Abby and Wolf is downright shameless. Respectfully the power with which Abby embraces her femininity. The discovery that he was left behind by the woman who took his breath away is precious.
And then she turns out to be the woman with whom he will stay for 4 weeks as part of his retreat so that he can write his book. The Dom in him recognizes the sub in her. If it turns out that she needs an escort to 2 appointments, he offers himself and wants her submission in return for the next 4 weeks.
Beautiful scenes in which her confidence grows after she was used by 2 men who did not respect her. Beautiful scenes described full of sex, but also where he shows her and let her feel that she is a powerful woman. Beautiful to read the love they feel is growing. Beautiful to read the trust they have in each other getting stronger. Heartbreaking when she sends him away.
Beautifully written, realistic, respectful.

Abigail & Wolf end up having a tryst near a creek (without knowing each other’s names), then she disappears without a word. He’s annoyed, but has to go find the house that has been arranged for him to have some quiet time to finish his manuscript. Lo & behold, when he finds the house, he ends up finding her.
They end up deciding to make a deal together, to sleep with one another for the month he’ll be spending there. He will pretend to be her bf when she sees her ex, & this will also be good for him, too. Her exes are idiots, truly.
It didn’t ring true that he was really an author, trying to finish his book (we never saw him working, really). Despite this, there were some good moments.
“What are you doing?”
“Looking for a bathroom. I thought I’d have that shower now.”
“& you’re taking me because...?”
“Because you smell, too.”
I loved how Wolf introduced himself to Abby's ex... Hilarious!
The start of the story is really awkward. It was just too over the top to be believable. If you can suspend belief and shoulder past this, the book delivers on both a great steamy read as well as emotional growth. Wolfe and Abby feel like real people, with real insecurities, and reactions not just for plot points, but based on what the average person might do or say in similar situations. This makes the book and characters easy to connect with and fall into the story.
There was a bit of tell in the middle of the book, and I am sure a chapter was cut.
*possible spoiler alert*
The issue of the scissors were not explored after Abby's strong reaction until an internal monologue by Abby much later in the book. While I acknowledge that ploughing through all her triggers may be a bit much for a book this length, it did feel like a missed opportunity.
This was a hot story that explored kink and relationships. Abigail had been married and cheated on. Then she got involved with a married man (she didn't know he was married) and then she met Wolf. He was staying at her place for a month finishing a book he was writing. They met innocently and when Abby found out who he was she was not happy. Wolf was a Dominant and Abby was very submissive. He learned she had been hurt badly in her relationships and treaded carefully while bending her to his will. She happily bent. The story had lots of kink, but their relationship was the best part, including meeting all of her brothers. I enjoyed the story.

Get ready to dive head first into steamy scenes, love, betrayal and that one ex that we all have. The improvability of the circumstances to which the story unfolds, and I felt that Wolf's character could have been built a little better, so that is the only reason I choose 4 stars instead of 5. The sex scenes were plentiful and steamy, Dick was enough to piss me off and the connection between Abby and Wolf was believable. I do wish there was a little more time spent letting us know about his book, the whole reason for the "chance meeting ". Overall I enjoyed the story.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author - I’ve been looking for a while but hadn’t made the time to read one of her books. Silly me! This story was great!
It starts with a bang and keeps roaring along. It is highly erotic and intensely emotional from both main characters’ perspectives. Both characters have been seriously emotionally hurt by other people and they bring their baggage which is carefully worked through, especially the female lead’s, to ensure that they are able to create a safe space for each other.
The story is dual POV, well written and edited, and I will be looking to read the rest of the series!

Both Abby and Wolf have an immediate need that needs to be addressed. She has need of a buffer to keep her pain in the behind ex at bay. He has need of a muse with a deadline looming with costly consequences if he cannot meet it. This is a quirky, at times over the top story about what happens when they strike a bargain to mutually assist one another while at the writer's retreat thinking nothing will come of it when they are ready to move along. Things don't always work out like you might plan. Good first story in the series.

This is a hot and steamy erotica with strong characters in Abigail and Wolf. They make the perfect pair .. he's a dom and she's a sub and together they melt the sheets. The author brings the heat and and does a great job building their relationship. Her scenes are painted in vivid detail and the story moves fluidly with just enough supporting characters to bring the story around. It's well written and is an enjoyable read.

Abby meets Wolf when he is sent to her property to finish his book as he is on a deadline. Wolf wasn't aware she was home but felt an instant attraction to Abby. She has been hurt in past relationships and wasn't looking to start a new relationship. Wolf is Dominant and recognizes the submissive in Abby. Their time together is hot and they think it's not permanent but their chemistry is strong and they are meant to be. Will they figure out they have a future together?

Abigail and Wolf make an agreement to help each other. She will help him finish his book and he will help keep her ex's hands off of her. There story is unique and the D/s just added to the fun of the story. I loved them together and as individuals. Abigail is strong and has bad choice in men, but Wolf will change her luck. Wolf was a hottie. This story was a wonderful story and I cannot wait to read the others in the series.

Loved the book it was great, the story was written well and the characters were interesting. Abigail has horrible taste in me, her husband left her for another woman, her ex-boyfriend he lied and cheated she needed someone to pretend to be her boyfriend. Wolf will only pretend to be her boyfriend but she has to help him finish his book. Wolf is dominant gorgeous male, he was dominant with Abigail and teaching her to be submissive. Loved the heat that came from the pages.

Third Time Lucky, the first story about the Bennett siblings, is a very intense, hot romance with lots of kinky elements, a strong and determined Dom and a deeply submissive but scared sub. And who can blame her after the experiences she's had. Just reading about them made me sad, mad and so hopeful that they'd get it right third time around. The ending is at once heart-wrenching and hilarious but so happy! I'm looking forward to seeing more of this couple when her brothers get their stories.

What a lot of bad luck Abigail (Abby) has had with the men, she had had relationships with. Lucky for her that is about to change when Wolf enters her life, they have a steamy encounter, then she flees only to have him turn up again. I loved this steamy couple (Wolf is the dom and Abby is the sub). I loved the humour in their story, the attraction/banter between them and how easy both of them were to love. Although I didn't like Richard, he is certainly a jerk.

I read this twice. My absolute favourite among the three books! Good books, for me, are like: C’mon, I’m taking you for a ride *winks* No hesitation, no questions asked, totally mind-blowing and memorable.
Abby and Wolf’s story is smooth and laidback besides the toe-curling, steamy romance.
Wolf is comfortable in his own skin. The air of quiet confidence about him just so captivating.
Interesting reconstruction It's a good romance with a BDSM background. The story is certainly hot, but it is also tender, and it is more oriented towards the benefit that this can bring to the heroine Abigail, who had previous relationships which were psychologically harmful to her. When Wolf meets Abigail, he will do anything to help her rebuild, respecting her. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Third Time Lucky was a great story by Jennie Kew. It was my first story by this author and I will definitely be reading more. Once I started reading Abby and Wolf's story I simply could not put it down. Abby has really bad luck with men between an ex husband and ex boyfriend that were both cheaters. Abby and Wolf both agree to help each other out. Wolf needs to finish his manuscript and Abby needs help dealing with her ex. I loved everything about this book and I so forward to more in this new series!
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book gives us the love story between Wolf and Abby. They have a fake relationship to ward off her ex. They both have their own baggage but find they cannot deny the attraction between them. He has a book to finish but she becomes a welcome distraction. She has given up on relationships and Wolf could change that. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline.
