Young and naive, Tiara Rogers learns the hard way what happens when you are green in the game.
She has everything a girl could ever want, except a normal life. Not understanding that being the daughter of Dallas, Texas kingpin makes her a walking target, she does everything she can to defy her father, including losing her virginity when she falls hard for the charm of a boy she barely knows. She’s unaware of the boy’s true plans for her, and truths soon turn to deadly lies. Before she knows it, she is left alone, with nowhere to go. She is tossed into a world that she knows nothing about, and the cruelties are unimaginable.
Lost in the underworld, with no friends or family, she realizes that her father hadn't done her any favors by keeping her sheltered. He came up from the mud, and she wishes he would have shown her how messy it could get. But now it is too late. With his empire up for grabs, it turns the people that she once trusted into bloodthirsty hounds. Will she be able to reclaim what is rightfully hers, or will she be too broken to even stand up on her own two feet?
Follow Treasure Hernandez as she gives you the heartwrenching story of love . . . and blood.
Great quick read and a page turner from beginning to end with a lot of action...not your typical storyline...definitely a sequel coming one can only hope
I enjoyed this street lit by Treasure. Tiara was sheltered from the street life and her parents never took the time out to spend time with her so she grew up resenting them both and falling to the wrong prey and ending up with a deceased father. The only person who really cared for her for the nanny and she stepped in the mother role by raising Tiara. After all that Tiara has gone through her mother now recents her for loosing her husband and wants nothing to do with Tiara and sents her away to be raped and tortured by a pedophile as well as other girls in the group home. Well Tiara gets her revenge against her mom after she sees her cousin and mother living in the home she was raised in. I think there has to be another book after this because this was definitely a cliffhanger.
This was a good read. Tiara was behind the right ball from the beginning of the book no matter how much money you have if you don’t have love from your mother things will always turn out messed up in life. God thing she has Stephanie to look after her. Tiara had been through hell and high water but she came out on top of the game. Now she has to show everyone even her cousin Vincent why she is the true Kingpin if her father’s empire. Read this you won’t be disappointed at all.
A very quick read. Took me just 2 days to fly through it. A great page-turner. You really sympathize with the main character because of the amount of crap she endures. And all I can say, is if anyone has a (so-called) mother who treats their children this way, needs to be put in jail. Or at least removed from their children. Mothers who can't/or won't love and care about their children can go fuck themselves.
I actually enjoyed reading this. Keys and Stevelle are my favs even tho they don’t come in until later, they won me over. I finally realized that no one mentioned retaliation other than Vincent when Blake was killed, why is that? I have so many question concerning his security detail, like wtf?
I'll just say: that I am a fan of TREASURE HERNANDEZ'S work....PLEASE MR. WEBER, BRING HER TALENTS BAKC TO THE FAMILY BUSINESS SERIES PREFERABLY BOOK 7 & THE ONE WITH PARIS & NILES! SHE IS SO NEEDED FOR THE SUCCESS OF THE SERIES AS IS ERIC PETE & EVEN STEPHANIE COVINGTON (ESPECIALLY FOR THE PARIS NILES STORYLINES!)!!!!! Uummmm, that is all.
This book is awesome very dark and gritty with alotta twists and turns you never seen comig need a part 2 plz. It starts the story of sheltered girl tiara who father was kingpin. And omg all that poor woman went through she is survivor. I really enjoyed this book, i do want a part 2.
First part was enough. The 2nd part was (an unnecessary spin) the coldest winter ever with a horrific twist. The third part and conclusion had me all in the it ended. Is there a part two? Gave 3 stars due to the awful 2nd part.
