Noelle Summers loves Christmas, but everything goes terribly wrong when someone casts a spell that makes every day a holiday. As the only one aware of the time loop, Noelle must find a way to reverse the mistake before Yew Hollow’s festive cheer attracts the attention of dangerous magical visitors.
Alexandria Clarke is a writer, cat lover, and all-around optimist. She loves to immerse her readers in mystery and intrigue, meaningful friendships, and the worlds of characters who learn by doing. When she's not writing, Alex enjoys playing guitar, watching Wynonna Earp, and spending time with her family. She currently lives in Orlando, Florida with her partner and their four pets.
Second time around for reading, I really enjoyed reading this through for the second time. This time I am listening to the audiobook of this book, and love the narrator.
The first part of this book feels like a paranormal holiday version of Groundhog Day. Christmas day keeps repeating over and over with slight variations. Only one person seems to be aware of the time slip. I quite enjoyed this author's writing style. She uses active verbs and deep point of view that makes you feel like you are living the story along with Noelle as she tries to figure everything out. There is a little bit of an information dump at the beginning, including the rather hackneyed use of a window so that a first-person narrator can describe herself, but this is written better than most, so I can forgive it. I loved following the twists and turns of the story. A fun and engaging read.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
A feel-good story with supernatural action. A less powerful witch in a super powerful family has to save the day from dark magic with the help of her mortal friends. It is an empowering story. You can do more than you believe you can and you don't have to be a superhero to make a difference. It is cute, but not overly cute.
Ever compare yourself to others an feel small? Noelle wakes up excited about Christmas and her role in the Winter Carnival. As she gets trapped in a time loop, she begins to feel her place as a lesser witch in the coven. Can mere mortals help her stop the loop and save the town? I love these stories. They have magic and drama. The main characters maybe supernatural, but the have obstacle to overcome like mortals. It takes strength to get to the end just like real life.
Yew Hollow consists of a coven of witches and unsuspecting mortals who live together in the same town. They live side by side with the mortals never realizing their neighbors are witches. Noelle Summers is one of the minor witches of the Yew Hallow coven. Bit waking up Christmas morning without snow just wasn’t right – it wasn’t a good use of Mother Nature’s abilities! Located in the middle of Massachusetts, Yew Hollow should definitely have snow on this magic day! Noelle leaned out the upstairs window in her apartment over the bakery/café and started the snow falling. She noted the happy faces of the townspeople as they looked up at the white flakes coming down. Then she headed downstairs for coffee.
All was ready for the Winter Carnival. Noelle was in charge of the committee and worked very hard to make sure it would be spectacular! The magical yew tree in the center of the town square was recovering from a magic mishap years ago, but was beautifully decorated by the children. The Winter Carnival was a fundraiser for the school, so she headed to the elementary school to organize the work. The Carnival went off perfectly and, as Noelle climbed into bed, she muttered, “I wish it were Christmas every day.”
The next morning, the snow continued to fall. Noelle figured Mother Nature caught up with itself and was providing the expected snowfall. She went downstairs for the after-Christmas pancakes Belinda always made, but the café was full of people! Belinda repeated the same thing she said yesterday about the snow being a gift to Noelle, and that everyone was here to buy their Christmas muffins and coffee! What was going on? How could it still be Christmas? Was this a temporal time loop? Could they stop it? If Christmas kept repeating itself, they were sure to draw the attention of mortals!
Another cute story from the Yew Hollow magical experiences! The story line was good and the characters wonderful. I love the small-town feel of Yew Hollow which makes everyone your neighbor. Grab your copy and see if Noelle, with the help of her friend Chiara, are able to find a way to fix this latest problem before they get a visit they don’t want to face!
I did enjoy this book but thought it could have been even better if it had been longer, it was a good build up but the ending felt rushed and was suddenly over, otherwise it was a lot of fun. This is a feel good cozy Christmas story until the main character gets to repeat the day over and over. I liked the Christmas feel to the book and the subtle changes each day brings. The characters were interesting and I think I will probably be paying this series another visit. Noelle Summers and her whole extended family are witches but the rest of the town's citizens don't know, so when Noelle wakes up to find she has to relive Christmas day again she turns to her family for help. The problem is the rest of the coven are caught up in the time loop and don't sense anything is wrong. It is up to Noelle. Repeating her favourite time of the year should be fun but she feels that something dangerous is responsible and she has to use her skills to keep everybody safe but from what or who? I liked the narrator, as she gave each character there own voice making it easy to follow. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This is an enjoyable novella length book that takes place in Yew Hollow, Massachusettes, a small town that is home to a powerful coven of witches. It serves to introduce us to the eight novels that will follow. We meet Noelle Summers, the main character, a nature witch who tells us the story. We meet her best friend Chiara, a non-witch, and Gabriel, a fellow teacher. We meet Morgan, the head of the coven, and possibly one of the most powerful witches anywhere in the world, but at least on the east coast of the United States. In this story, it seems that Yew Hollow is caught up in a time loop which Noelle must attend to in order to save the town, and her coven. No spoilers here! But I can tell you that this novella ends with a great cliffhanger.
Even if you are very fond of the holidays, there really is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Ever seen the movie Groundhog Day? The same day repeats over and over again. That was Christmas for Noelle Summers that year. Yup. Time loop.
Noelle does finally manage to get the attention of her cousin/ coven leader/ homicide detective Morgan Summers. With only limited time to exchange info and possible solutions, things look grim for Noelle and Yew Hollow.
A couple human friends also seem to be immune to the time loop.
Only some serious daring can resolve their situation- and keep Noelle out of trouble for revealing herself to humans.
Intense action and adventure!

This is a brilliant read! I love the world building that is in this. I love the characters that have been fleshed out well and I can't wait to read more about them. Love the whole plot and story line that is happening. Wonderful little cozy story. Recommend reading.

This is a fun little story, playing on the whole Groundhog Day repeating itself in a very interesting and Christmasy way. However, to me the story felt very rushed, as all these plot points and twists were thrown in without any reasoning (like why certain people were or weren't effected by the curse). I also was annoyed by the premise that women can be witches and good but every man with magic is a warlock and evil by default...seems like a sad world. The villain was pretty generic and all the characters were pretty bland. Saying that, it's a sweet story blending the feel of a cozy mystery with the mystical qualities of a fantasy, and it's very quick to read.
Wow! This is an action packed, edge of your seat, cant put it down book! I loved watching Noelle, as the "main witch" in this crisis, using her powers to save the day. I also enjoyed Gabriel, and the tension surrounding his character, not knowing what to think or feel about him. Then, there is the ending! Holy smokes! So good! Did not see that coming! Overall, I loved this book. This is a must read!

I loved this story about an Ice witch. She is sweet and down to earth. Noelle is a school teacher. I love the fact that her personality is in contrast to her magic abilities. Noelle has to save Yew Hollow from a Dark Witch. I loved this story and the twist and turns in the plot were fun to experience. I recommend that you read this book you will love it.

Wonderful little tale. Noelle is fabulous but sometimes goes off half-cocked, but then again I guess that I do that sometimes as well. Chiara is delightful sidekick. The mystery was solved, however, like what I suspect happens in real police investigation, which this isn't, you don't know the culprits until you find them.
A book in the A Witch Myth Cozy Mystery series a cute story of a time loop where everyday is Christmas. It is up to Noelle, Chiara, and Gabriel to save the town of Yew Hollow and it's Children from the evil trying to destroy them. A well written story that i enjoyed reading. Noelle is a witch who loves Christmas. When she wakes up on Christmas Day and there's no snow in Yew Hollow she decides to cast a spell and make it snow. The next day there's a mystery to be solved when it's Christmas Day all over again. This cozy mystery is filled with magic, suspense, drama, humor and a great ending. Witch Myth: A Yew Hollow Christmas- The Beginning was a great read by Alexandria Clarke. Noelle Summers absolutely loves Christmas. Unfortunately everything goes wrong when someone casts a spell that makes everyday Christmas. She is the only person that is aware of the time loop and must find a way to reverse the mistake. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.
I read this as part of the Super Boxset. Ms. Clarke has written a series of connected stories that are well developed, has great characters, and keeps your interest. I thoroughly enjoyed reading each one. The books in this Super Boxset are: Witch Myth: A Yew Hollow Christmas- Book 0-3 Witch Myth: A Yew Hollow Cozy Mystery, Book 0-3 Witch Myth Wildfire: A Yew Hollow Cozy Mystery, Book 0-3
Noelle loves Christmas So much she is living it over and over. Can Noelle, a lesser witch save the town her ancestors founded. This is the first book I have read of this series and I am excited to read more.
Wow, i was so into this story, I forgot it was a prequel. Now I have a lot to look forward to in Yew Hollow’s first book. I’ll be ready to go for Noelle and her zany personality!
Christmas every day is not necessarily a good thing, especially when there's witchcraft involved. I liked these new characters in Yew Tree Hollow, it's a good mix, and the plot charges along nicely. Fun.
I liked the other series, and this one seems to be ready to be a lot of fun too. A Christmas timeslip and a Christmas loving ice witch combine in a story that is well crafted and somewhat unexpected. Great work!
A really good book in a wonderful series. I love the characters in this book and I love the story. It very quickly caught my interest and held me to the book throughout. I highly recommend this book.

Noelle is in a time warp that keeping repeating the day. Loving it at the time but the repeating is too much, now to stop. Well done, and enjoyable to listen to more than once. Given audio for my voluntary review
Enjoyed this story. The relationship between Noelle and her close friend is fun and loving. A story that contains humor, action and a mystery is a great find and this is one of them.
I think this book lived out my worst fears...Christmas repeating over and over. After reading this story, I think I am ready to take the plunge into Yew Hollow!
