What a hold-your-breath until the end ride this story is! DI Kayli Bright is back with her team working to keep their precinct safe. With her fiance Mark working far away doing who knows what, 'accidents' happening that end with death in her area, and her sister in law's newly noticed pregnancy Kayli has her hands full and mind racing. She 'forgets' to eat and her team, including the boss, notice the weight loss, trying to make sure she is taking care of herself!
This is the second book of a trilogy, and a fantastic suspenseful story with characters that feel like friends. I could not believe what happens when they finally arrest the culprit of three murders, you think all is fine...it sure is NOT...
Can not wait for the next in this heart-pounding story!!

DI Kayli Bright is back in the 2nd book of this riveting crime thriller. Bright is a strong female dealing with a lot of emotional issues which may be affecting her job. Bright and her partner, DS Dave Chaplin are non-hardened officers of the law. They are both dedicated to bringing justice to the victims.

There is a serial killer on the loose .... a driver with a rel severe case of road rage. A pregnant woman is run off the road and killed when her car rolled over and over. A man is shot through the window of his car. And another woman is also shot while sitting at a red light.

Are these random killings or are they connected? As Kayli and Dave sort through the friends and families of the victims, Kayli's personal life seems to be falling apart. For being a strong woman, she seems to be withering away while her fiance is working security in another country. When he comes home, he's not the man she remembered. He's become secretive and that doesn't bode well for their relationship.

This is a well-written novel with credible characters that come alive under this author's writings. The story premise is a good one. WARNING: There is a cliffhanger that leads me to believe the final book in this trilogy will leave the readers stunned and surprised.

Many thanks to the author for the advanced digital copy of this crime fiction. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Killer On The Run is the second book in the DI Kayli Bright trilogy. It would certainly be beneficial to have read the first book in the trilogy to get full enjoyment from this story.

It was great to catch back up with Kayli again. Sadly though things seem very strained with Mark her fiance. I have to say I had every sympathy for Kayli as his new job abroad would have had me like a cat on a tin roof. I was as impatient as she was for him to get back safe and sound.

The case that Kayli finds herself on grabbed me straight away. That was just the start of how interesting things were going to get. The case seems to get even more baffling and Kayli and her team are struggling to get a break. I loved the working relationship between Kayli and Dave, they really do work well together. It’s a great partnership that crime lovers will devour.

Killer On The Run is a gripping and fast paced read with a protagonist that you really get behind and care about. Yet again I had no clue who the killer was until it was right there in front of me and boy was I in for a shock. I really have mixed feelings about the third and last book as I am desperate to read it but dreading this brilliant crime series coming to an end.

My thanks to the author for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

This is another excellent book from M.A. Comley and I am really pleased that she has released this new trilogy, this being the second book published! I loved the first book, The Missing Children and gave it five stars so this second book did have quite a high standard to meet - and I think she smashed it!

This is a brilliant book, the story gripped me and I read it the day it landed on my Kindle and flew through the story in just a few hours - I thoroughly enjoyed every page and did not want to put it down. I am loving these new characters too!!

The plot is great and the attention to detail is spot on as always, there were a few twists and turns along the way to make sure you stayed engaged and it ends on a real cliff-hanger - I can't wait to get my hands on the final book in the trilogy! Definitely 5 stars from me!!

Excellent follow up

The first book was good, but this was even better.
Great start, and the pace continues right until the finale and leaves you wanting more.
This is not just about a murder inquiry, it delves deeper into her personal life and shows some great character development.
Can't wait to read book 3, already got 4 and 5 waiting.

Having read and enjoyed the thrilling first book in the DI Kayli Bright trilogy, 'The Missing Children', I couldn't wait for the second one 'Killer on the Run' to be published. There were some loose ends left in the first book, and so I wanted to know how the story continues. Now that I've read it, all I can say is 'WOW', I enjoyed this heart-pounding read even more!

This book starts off with a horrific traffic accident in which a woman loses her life. But something doesn't sit right with the accident investigators and so Kayli and her partner, Dave Chaplin, are called to the scene. How did the woman die in a fairly safe stretch of road? Was she drunk after a night out? Did she pass out? Or did something more sinister happen to her? When a second fatal accident takes place soon after in the same stretch of road, Kayli becomes convinced that the two deaths are connected and that these weren't traffic accidents, but murders. CCTV footage proves her right and soon Kayli finds herself in a race against time to catch a killer who seems to be lurking in that road. But who is this person? Why are they doing this? Kayli must find out, and fast before yet another life is lost at the hands of this demented killer on the run.

WOW, OK. If there's one writer that takes my breath away with tension with each and every one of her books, then that's definitely Mel Comley. I have read and enjoyed all the brilliant books she's written, and 'Killer on the Run' is nothing less. This is yet another action-packed, fast-paced, cracking thriller that had me hooked from the terrifying prologue and kept me glued till the end. The continuous movement, twists and turns, and the conversational, casual dialogue the author implements in every page of her books make it simply impossible to read slowly, and I ended up devouring the whole book in a couple of hours. I wanted to know who the killer was, why they were killing these people, whether there was some connection between the victims. And what about Kayli's personal life? Will she solve the issues she's been facing?

Well I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it, but it would be better to read this trilogy in order. This book ends in a massive cliffhanger that left me desperate to know what happens next, in book 3.

With thanks to the author for an ARC of this book which I voluntarily accepted to read and review.

So I’ve finally managed to find time to read the next book in the Kayli Bright trilogy and I’m so glad I did! Although I really liked the first one in the series, I had found parts of the storyline really hard to read due to the subject matter. But I absolutely loved the character of Kayli! Her personal life proved to be just as intriguing as the case she was brought in to solve last time and this time is no different! So I would advise you to start at the beginning of this trilogy with The Missing Children just so that you come to Killer on the Run with all the background information that you need to add to to your enjoyment.

Kayli and Dave are called to an horrendous hit and run accident that was detailed quite scarily in the build up to the attack. With a rise in tension, the reader feels completely helpless that Carmen is being stalked by a mysterious motorbike rider on the way home from a celebratory night out with her girlfriends. And when the motorbike forces her off the road, I could feel her terror as she pleaded for help. When there are more attacks of a similar methodology, Kayli has to look for the connection before anymore deaths occur.

Much as I was gripped by the hunt for the serial killer at large here, I was also fascinated by Kaylis relationship with her fiance Mark who is working abroad as a security consultant. When he returns home things are not quite as they were before he left and Kayli is left wondering what on earth is happening! How she managed to keep her eye on the ball with the case I really do not know but it just goes to show what a true professional she is that she did! And that cliffhanger!!! I can’t wait to discover how Kayli copes with what is coming next!!

As always Mel Comley has written a highly addictive and entertaining series with likeable characters and a believable storyline. I find her books as relaxing as they are thrilling and I love nothing more than to curl up with this trusted author and her books.

Highly recommended!

After enjoying the first book in this trilogy (The Hidden Children) I was pleased to be able to continue with this book and see what Kayli's new case would bring. Alongside the ongoing police investigation, the story also features Kayli's family and love life. Not all crime fiction mix the personal and professional well, but it is done very well here, with Kayli's personal life being an important factor in her decision making and ability to focus (or not at times) on her work.

I thought I knew who the criminal was from quite early on and was enjoying watching the investigation unfold and the case team trying to find new leads. Then, I was surprised at the turn of events and proved wrong! What a twisted mind and warped logic the killer has. As much as I like Kayli, the same can't be said for her boyfriend Mark. I hope that at some point he will show some redeeming features, but I wasn't feeling very much sympathy for him by the time I'd finished reading.

Another success for Mel and I'll be looking forward to reading the third instalment. Recommended to anyone who likes crime fiction with depth.

I enjoyed the first book in this series but to be honest I enjoyed this one even more. You feel as if you know the characters as there is plenty of background information, there are lots of edge of your seat moments as the team close in on the culprit. The ending is a bit of a cliff hanger so I hope the author doesn't take too long with the follow up.

Such a great follow on! No 2 in the DI Kayli Bright trilogy. The 1st Missing Children was a great start, then this 1 just took off and was even better. So looking forward to the 3rd one now. Need to know more!!
MA Comley has a way with characters that makes them real, they’re not a name on a page, you get attached and as things happen to them it’s frustrating to know how it will turn out!
An accident, attack, anything, I found myself wanting to speed to the end to see what’s next.
This story had an addition I wasn’t expecting to happen (won’t say twist!) the person involved was a surprise and made the tale even more gripping.
Start with the 1st book and I bet you won’t be disappointed.

Killer on the Run.
Book 2 in this series, and it’s brilliant. DI Kayli Bright gets called to attend what is a driving accident but it turns out to be much worse than that. After a short period of time she is called out to another incident on the same stretch of road. Is this the work of a serial killer she tries to put it all together. This book will keep you in suspense all the way to the end. This is Mels work at its best and you’ll love it.

Killer on the run is the 2nd instalment in the riveting D.I Kayli Bright series, with the first one (Missing Children) being so good, I was really looking forward to this one and couldn’t wait for it!! I was so excited to see what was next for these likeable characters!! well... the wait and excitement (which was only a week or two to be fair) was so worth it and I wish I was reading it all over again!! I cannot contain my excitement for the third book.

Mel Comley is a fantastic writer!! I hang off her every page, her style and technique is fab and she is so good at keeping the suspense up until the end!! This outcome in particular was definitely not expected and I’m an avid crime/ murder thriller reader!! I’m a huge fan of M.Comley and have read so many of her books, each one just excels and it’s too hard to pick a favourite, that said this series with these relatable characters is up there with her best!! The banter between the team has me laughing out loud they are a fab bunch!!

So...... Is it an accident or is it a murder made to look like an accident is the first puzzle for D.I Kayli Bright, her partner D.S Dave Chaplin and the rest of the murder investigation team!! Even I didn’t know at first as Mel Comley is so good at keeping the reader guessing and holding their breath whilst sitting on the edge of their seats!! I was hooked from start to end, I couldn’t put it down and devoured it within hours as I was that engrossed with every page.

In Killer on the run, it’s not just the tough job, that’s adding the stress to Kayli’s life... can her and her fiancés relationship withstand the strain of Mark being so far away from home on a potentially dangerous job, can Kayli cope with secrets between the two and could these secrets change Mark beyond recognition? What will be the outcome for the couple? Plus, with Mark and her brother both working away from home, Kayli ends up supporting her sister in law through a worrying and tough time too!! will all this get too much for Kayli, will her health/ well-being and the ability to do her job effectively be hampered? Can she keep up a pretence in work so her superior and colleagues don’t notice the toll it’s taking on her ... Read and find out more!! Trust me it’s worth it!!

I love books by M A Comley. I would say this is my favourite series written by her so far. Kayli is such a lovely person, good at her job and her partner Dave is funny and keeps her on her toes. I thought I’d sussed out the who and why. But I was totally wrong! Which I’m totally glad of. Can’t wait to read the rest.

The second part of a trilogy featuring DI Kayli Bright and the Avon and Somerset Constabulary. The team are investigating two recent accidents and recognise some similarities which may link them and raise suspicion that things are not what they seem.

The case is a tough one and, along with DI Bright's personal life, is taking a toll on her health. The team's dedication and perseverance is key to the outcome, as is their loyalty and comradeship.

I cannot recommend this trilogy enough and just can't wait for the final part. I really hope after the trilogy that we will read more books about Bright, DS Dave Chaplin etc. The mix of professional and personal stories of the characters makes a very interesting read.

A definite 5*.

I enjoyed meeting DI Kayli Bright in book 1 of this series, "Missing Children".

In "Killer On The Run" we learn more about her and her team. Kayli is a detective who cares about her team. She is interested in their relationships with their colleagues and their families.

The story is a complete roller-coaster of a ride. It grabbed me at page 1 and didn't let go until the final page.

I can't wait for the 3rd book in this series.

THIS AUTHOR NEVER DISAPPOINTS.

Killer on the Run is the second part of a trilogy with DI Kayli Bright. I really enjoyed book one, The Missing Children so couldn’t wait to read this one.

It was well worth the wait as from the very first page I was once again pulled into the story and just could not put it down until I had finished, which always happens when I am reading this Authors work.

In this book you get to learn more about Kayli’s personal life and she is quickly becoming a new friend just like Lorne from the Justice Series. In this book Kayli and her team are investigating some road traffic accidents which are not what they seem.

Once again, this is another gripping thriller with lots of on the edge of your seat moments. I just love this Authors work and shall be waiting with bated breath for the 3rd book in the series.

A huge 5* from me.

Killer on the run is the second installment in the DI Kayli Bright trilogy which I couldn't wait to get my teeth into after reading The Missing Children which I loved But OMG this trilogy just gets better and better. In fact it is turning out to be my favourite series by M.A Comley.

Killer on the run grabs you from the start with a cracking opening and doesn't let you go until the very last page and to be totally honest it doesn't let you go then....with an OMG ending I was left still wanting more. I cannot wait to find out what happens next.

Not only do we follow the story of a murder inquiry after a car accident. We also follow the story line of Kayli's personal life. I love how this story isn't just about the case. The author giving the reader some brilliant character development and we really get to know her.

Kayli is a very strong lead character and even though she has plenty going on in her personal life it doesn't stop her getting on with her job....I think she is ace!

This is a fast paced, well written, engaging read, full of twists and turns that you won't see coming. Which I cannot recommend enough giving it 5 stars......Roll on book 3 is all I have left to say!

Well, M. A. Comley has only gone and done it again! The more I read of D.I. Kayli Bright, the more I love her.
In this novel, D.I. Bright receives a call about a suspicious car accident that seems to be a simple case of careless driving. However, from the moment she reaches the scene, Kayli's gut instinct suspects foul play. And when another accident occurs on the same stretch of road the next day, Kayli knows she has a brutal killer on her hands.
As if her job wasn't stressful enough, Kayli's personal life spins out of control. Her financé returns from his three week stint in Afghanistan on a secret mission, but something is wrong. What is he hiding? And why won't he talk to her?
As ever, M.A. Comley's fast-paced style kept me flicking the pages.
A shocking ending left me open mouthed and desperate for the next book in the series. Bring on March 15th!

Killer on the Run

I was engrossed from the very beginning! Killer on the Run is the second in Ms Comley’s new trilogy and let me tell you, it doesn’t disappoint!

Dr Kayli Bright is back and has been called to the scene of what appears to be a horrific accident. There’s a niggle in Kayli’s mind though that makes her think it could be something more. When another heinous incident happens the next night on the same stretch of road, she begins to think she could be looking for a serial killer.

Killer on the Run has it all, it’s a fast paced thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I was glued to my kindle throughout this book and can’t wait for the next instalment! Five stars from purplebookstand.

This is the second book in the trilogy of DI Kayli Bright & whilst it's not as gruesome & detailed as the first, nonetheless it's a top class read. The partnership between DI Kayli Bright and DS Dave Chaplin is very special, they look out for one another & have got each other's back.
In a run of the mill car accident, something didn't seem quite right & then suddenly the bodies were being run over one by one.
I just loved the way everything fell into place which I know is not so easy for a writer, but with this author you'll always know that everything slots in perfectly.
I cannot wait for the third book because I know already that it'll be another top fantastic book.

I was so looking forward to reading this 2nd book in the Kayli Bright trilogy and I certainly wasn't disappointed. A great plot which had me guessing from the first incident. The characters in this trilogy are quite familiar now and I enjoy the banter between them and it feels as if I know them personally. Also intriguing is the continuing backstory of Kayli's personal life. I read this book in one sitting as I couldn't put it down. A brilliant read and I can't wait for book 3!

Outstanding second book in the series. I'm really hoping the author decides to make this series more than just s trilogy as I think the characters have such a lot of potential.

Two people are killed on the same stretch of road late at night and Bright and her team have to work out why, and who killed them but it's not long before there are more victims. Meanwhile Kayli is dealing with issues in her own personal life which are taking their toll on her.
