A memoir - Taken from Introduction- "Things were just too hard. I had already gone too far and done too much. Even in my younger years, things had been crazy. I had made a mess out of everything. Something was wrong with me, deep inside. I was dirty inside and I never felt comfortable in my own skin. I carried a dark secret, and it would consume my whole being until one day it would destroy me.........My name is Lisa. This is my story, but it's all about God's glory."
I actually met this author at a woman's meeting at a church in the Atlanta area. She told her story and I was moved because I have had relatives in the same situation of drugs and alcohol being their everything. Lisa kept going back to her bad habits for over 20 years and God kept giving her chances to get out of it. But God loves us so much he keeps giving us chances and with Lisa she finally came around and now is able to help others in the same situation. Very touching story.
Wow! As someone who has never suffered from drug addictions, all I can say is I have no clue as to the hold drugs can have on an individual. There are so many hurting people who turn to drugs because they are trying to deal with deep, deep hurts. Thanks be to God that He cares enough to be our hope and help us to turn our lives around just as He did for the author. The book is powerful and moving, moving to tears! God bless you Lisa. It was a pleasure to meet you about a year ago in Warren. God Bless you!!!
I love God moments!! This book is another one of my God moments. Her story is amazing and similar to mine. Can't wait to give this book to a gal I met this week and feel God has told me to give this to her. Looking forward to seeing what God does with it.
A real page turner! I am not usually one to read until I finish (maybe 1-2 times in my life max) but this book was amazing, well written and real! Just wow!
