National Best-selling author Adrianne Byrd has always preferred to live within the realms of her imagination where all the men are gorgeous and the women are worth whatever trouble they manage to get into. As an army brat, she traveled throughout Europe and learned to appreciate and value different cultures. Now she calls Georgia home.
Looking back, Adrianne believes her passion for writing began at the ripe old age of thirteen. It was also the age when she was introduced to romance novels by a most unlikely source: her fifteen-year old brother. The book was probably given to keep her out her brother’s hair, but it was a gift that changed her life.
In books, Adrianne found a way out of her awkward teenage years and into a world of fictional friends that would stay with her for a lifetime. It wasn’t long before her imagination took flight and she was writing her own love stories. Within a year, she completed her first book, which she vowed would never see the light of day.
Writing remained a hobby until 1994 when a co-worker approached her with an article on Romance Writers of America. Who knew there was an organization of women just like her? By 1996 she sold her first novel, Defenseless, to Kensington Publishing.
Her first release received rave reviews by Romantic Times and fans. Her other novels were consistently selected as the Magazine’s Top Pick. In 2001 Slam Jam nominated, Say You Love Me, for best romance. Her 2003 release Comfort of a Man won Romantic Times Best Multicultural Romance, Romance in Color’s Readers Choice Awards for Favorite Book, Favorite Hero, and Favorite Heroine; Shades of Romance’s Best/Arabesque Romance Book; Slam Jams Emma Award for Favorite Traditional Romance; Romance in Color’s Reviewer’s Choice Award for Author of the Year, Book of the Year and Best BET/Arabesque Book. And lastly Comfort of a Man was a 2003 Georgia Romance Writers Maggie finalist for best Contemporary. In 2004 she released her first romantic suspense novel, If You Dare, with HarperCollins. In 2006 her novel Measure of a Man was nominated for Best Multicultural Romance while her Harper Torch novel Deadly Double was nominated for an Emma. In 2007 she won an eharlequin.com Joey Award.
In 2006 Adrianne along with fellow writer Niobia Bryant penned her first Urban Novel, DESPERATE HOODWIVES, writing as De'nesha Diamond. The book is set for release February 2008 from Simon and Schuster. For more information, visit http://www.deneshadiamond.com.
Ms. Byrd has been featured in many national publications, including Today’s Black Woman, Upscale, and Heart and Soul. She has also won local awards for screenwriting. For the future, she looks forward to continue creating characters that make people smile, laugh, and fall in love.
Three stars for Ms Byrd 's vivid imagination. Quentin's story is finally told. I have been reading Adrianne Byrd for years. For years I have urged her to enlist the help of a proofreader / others have too. I could Not sit back and enjoy the book because of the numerous spelling, incorrect tense, misused and misplaced words. I stopped buying Brenda Jackson because her books have become so cookie cutter. I am afraid I'll have to add Ms Bryd to my do not buy list until she gets a proofreader. As one other reviewer stated, after the many delays in releasing the book, it should have been on point! You do your readers a great disservice, especially for 9.99. No ma'am no spam.
Quentin been telling everyone else business I'm just glad to finally know his. This was a really great book, but I was surprised at how many times names were erroneously written. For example one time it was Alyssa talking yet it said Elizabeth or times when Quentin was talking and it said Karen's. I just can't understand how those things slip by editors. But nevertheless, I enjoyed as I have all her novels and will be anxiously awaiting the next.
I enjoyed the continuation of Quentin's story. Book was long overdue. It's hard to believe a professional and competent editor proofread this book. To many errors such as character name mix up. Maybe if Me Byrd had not used so many characters, there would not have been mix up. However,I loved the main characters. Wanted more on Sterling's and Quentin's healed relationship. Thanks for not killing off my favorite character. It was all a dream😅. Prefect ending. Ms. Byrd I will continue to support your writings. However, please get a competent editor.
As with all the books in this series, I laughed, cried and laughed some more. When it comes to the "Hintons and the Kings" It's never a dull moment. Mrs. Byrd, you knocked the wind out of me with this one. So many shocking twist and turns, I was almost scared to turn the next page. I couldn't be happier for the whole outcome of the book. This was a amazing story. I love all the characters in your books, you give them all such many in each book, no matter who's story your telling. Excitingly awaiting the next book. Much love to you Ms. Byrd.
I was in love with this series, the humour, the family love, the sexual tension, and the individual characters. However, the introduction of the "angels" killed it for me. I do not like science fiction, nor do I like the genres that deal with ghosts, vampires, any after life. If I had known this was how the Sterling and Alfred characters ended up, I would not have bought the book. I loved the series. However, the after life insertion RUINED the series for me. I am so disappointed. I am Torn.
This was better than part 1 .....However, there were some errors throughout the book. I’m glad the wedding finally happened but I’m disappointed in how the ending was wrapped. All the time was dedicated to the plot and i was invested in Larenz then boom: its over. Quentin’s story was not one of Ms. Byrd’s best stories.
I hope I don't sound ridiculous but Quention has come a long way as the narrator of his cousin's love stories so this was just the cherry on top. Kindred spirits are real in my eyes so a man dying and coming back for his soulmate has probably happened more than we care to know.
So good.... so good... so good. The story had a lot of twist and turns and plot twist but I definitely love how it ended!!!! Great read. I couldn’t put down. I can’t wait to read the next Hinton book in the series.
This is the continuation to Quentin Hinton's story. It was a great conclusion. Funny and insightful. If you have enjoyed the series you will enjoy this story and can prepare yourself for the next cousin.
I have really enjoyed this story. I can see why some people were confused because unless you paid attention it did seem the names where being mixed up. Thank you for returning. You were definitely missed. Here's looking forward to your return with the next one!!!!
Quentin has been stubborn, complicated, irrational and driven since childhood. The turmoil called his life is intriguing and exhilarating! Kudos! #cillasbookmaniacs
This book was funny and full of twists. It reminded me of how St. Elsewhere ended when it was cancelled. Quentin was his usual, but it took Elizabeth kicking him out for him to realize she was the one.
I don't know where to begin. This story actually had me staying up all night. This was an amazing addition to the Hinton series.. loveeeeee it.. if I could vote 100 stars I would.. Goshhhhhh Q was A Great Storyteller & E had her hands fulllll land an Awesome ending
This was a great story despite the grammar errors. The twists and turns of this book kept you on your toes. The book was worth the wait. I cannot wait for the next book.
Not a happy camper. I don't like publicly criticizing other people, however, I am disappointed. I keep hoping people will mature in their presentation of their work and correct some of the structural errors (grammar, misuse of words that sound alike, etc.). I has not happened. I like reading about African American love and family. You do a great job on story likes and content. You make me laugh out loud and break my heart to the point of tears. I believe this is your gift. However, there is such a thing as "pride" in workmanship. Please have someone proof your manuscripts who are able to the add the value of correct grammar, verb tense, and just plain English, such as passed and past, they're and their; it is so aggravating when you are in a good reading groove and then you run up on these errors. I HATE IT! Please, please, please, fix it.
