I first Read the book when I was in class eight. So sweet was the book that I had to sneak it in our English lessons and read through as my teacher carried on with her lessons . It was a crime thou I was not caught ( thanks to our then combined classes ) . I completed it on the same day meaning I never went for any break. I still want to read it again .

my childhood companion in the eighties, written by our very own,yes a former herdsboy, the setting of the book, our own country Kenya,is it possible to hold a spear,a book and a pen at the same time?He answered that through his own life,it was a call to us to either choose our cultures and embrace the whitemans life,we did it and are very proud of it.
