“Project: Notice Me” is a win-win for Kyle. He’ll do a series of demonstrations at the club and have a good time with people he knows and the fledging Doms who are new to the scene and looking for encouragement from an experienced Sub. And maybe along the way, he’ll attract the attention of the new Dom at the club, the one with terrible taste in fashion, but who has the most intense focus Kyle has ever seen. He wants the entirety of the man’s attention on him. The clothes are optional.
Tamryn studied English and Creative Writing in school but has been writing since she could first hold a pencil. Recently, she’s turned her focus towards writing erotica. She enjoys writing stories where sex comes first, then feelings, because doing things out of order can be fun.
Tamryn has spent the past few months writing the Daniel and Ryan series with a lovely view of mountains out her window, and she’s now searching for a new mountain range to serve as her backdrop as she begins her next project.
Kyle is a Sub looking for a long term Dom. He has his sights set on a Dom that is new to the club. Taking the initiative, Kyle creates Project: Notice Me where he sets up scenes with other Doms in hopes of catching Aiden’s attention. He does. They decide on a trial period before a full commitment, contact, and eventual collar come into play.
The positives:
~I really liked the premise of a Sub getting creative to catch a Dom’s attention. Project: Notice Me had me requesting this story and looking forward to how it would play out.
~The characters. I liked the potential they had for a “relationship” together. Kyle was desperately wanting to find the one- a long term Dom and partner to share his life with in and out of scenes.
What didn’t work for me:
~The writing style. *smh* The third person/present tense made me want to bang my head at times. It took a good long while to get in a groove and get past it. Another thing that drove me crazy was the pronoun/proper noun usage. Sometimes they were used well and others, I was BEGGING for an editor.
Example:
”Kyle stares up at Richard and lets him see the flush in Kyle’s cheeks”
WHYYYYyyyYYyyy? Kyle, Kyle, Kyle!!! NO MORE KYLE!!!! *deep breath*
~Minutiae: The fat needs to be cut from this story. A lot of unnecessary information was included that didn’t serve a purpose. Instead of character development, I read a lot about folding clothes, washing dishes, how many pieces of tomatoes or avocados were cut and saved for later, folding his clothes again, etc…
~If I pretend that this isn’t a romance, how everything played out would make more sense: IMO this doesn’t read like a romance. It reads like a Sub wanting to find a Dom. 99% of their “relationship” took place in scenes. I know their kink preferences, how they role play, the aftercare steps, and their expectations for D/s. What I don’t know is much about them. With barely any backstory or personal information beyond sex, I wasn't able to connect with either character. Kyle’s relationship with Aiden wasn’t any different than the ones he had with other Doms he did demonstrations with. There was heat and chemistry in the scenes but nothing substantial that made me think they would go beyond the D/s scenes that he wanted. It read like clinical negotiations which is what it was with the HFN.
Warning: This next isn’t a positive or negative. Kyle is bisexual and although this is shelved as a M/M romance, there are *explicit* M/F scenes with Kyle and a female Domme. Kyle being a switch Sub worked in the context of the story but I thought it was worth noting for those that are interested in a switch or those that want only M/M.
If you can get past the writing style, the content reads like BDSM 101. It’s very explanatory and could be an ok starting point for those that wanna dip their toe into the D/s kink pool. I liked the premise but the execution was a little lacking.

This book caught me by surprise. It's more of a slice of life story than a classic romance arc, and I enjoyed that aspect of it. There is no central conflict, instead we watch as things unfold for Kyle, and see how this new relationship develops. I appreciated it because its so rare to find slice of life kink fiction, especially kink fiction that mostly feels realism oriented, instead of more fantasy based. It was a refreshing, enjoyable reading experience.
I really loved that Kyle was bisexual and it wasn't a big deal for anyone. We see him play and have sex with women and men in his quest to get Aiden's attention (which takes up a good portion of the book), and nobody blinks, including Aiden. I really liked that Kyle was an active bottom with lots of casual play partners, who did demos and was a rope model, and that nobody questions whether he might be up for a serious relationship or monogamy if that's what he wants.
I liked watching Kyle with his friends and community, and especially with Jenny and Charlotte. I liked that some of his play was depicted as not at all connected to sex. I wish that hadn't been attributed to sexual orientation, but I appreciated the discussion of aesthetic attraction. I really liked that it was a representation of kink practice that emphasized things like: negotiation, consent, unpacking scenes afterwards, aftercare, communication, supporting novice tops to learn.
The quirks of the BDSM club centered in the story were fascinating to me. Those were the bits of the book that leaned toward fantasy, but the social interactions in them felt a lot like real life kink community, which made for an interesting mix. I enjoyed imagining the idea of a kink club that's mostly about private suites you could use all night that are stocked with aftercare supplies, instead of public play. A club where if you do a demo you get a bracelet marking you as someone who cannot play or get served alcohol. Rope demos where afterwards audience members are allowed to touch the person who is tied up. A BDSM club that serves alcohol but also discourages mixing play and alcohol and also has a full on cafe where people socialize with their friends, negotiate, and unpack scenes afterwards.
I enjoyed watching Aiden and Kyle's relationship begin. I found myself continually surprised by the turns it took, in really good ways. I loved that they did role play, something I rarely see depicted in D/s romance, and I enjoyed watching their scenes, watching the way their D/s dynamic worked, seeing the ways Aiden was so flexible and creative in the way he established control, and how closely he paid attention to Kyle. I liked that so much of the experience included internal conflict for Kyle, and showed the ways he was struggling with trust. I got a kick out of the romance kink scene, where they roleplayed a first date; I have never seen that kind of play depicted in a BDSM romance before. I liked Aiden, a lot, even though I mostly got to see him in scene and didn't have much of a sense of him outside of it. Kyle grew on me over time. I liked them for each other.
I found the present tense a bit difficult to tolerate, especially at the beginning, but it stopped bugging me as much after the first chapter. There were some awkward phrasings that pulled me out of the story at times. There was one moment where I wished that there was a bit more realism in the depiction of the BDSM (how do you put someone in a rope corset while they are lying on their back?), but for the most part, the kink itself felt accurate. There were moments of heat, especially around the orgasm control, but this book wasn't particularly high heat, for me. I didn't especially mind that.
There wasn't a big emotional payoff at the end, it felt more quiet, and like it had finished this stage of things but there was more to show. Like the beginning of a series about the same couple, which it is, so that fits. I would read the next book, and follow this couple to see how their relationship develops over time.
Tamryn Eradani has a very interesting style of writing. Told from Kyle's point-of-view, he tells it like it is. And as he opens up and reveals his hopes and dreams, I think some of his reactions come as a bit of a surprise. He's cocky and confident, and just fragile enough to be intriguing.
I like this kind of story, and it's just different enough to have me reaching for the next book in the series.
nb - there are MF scenes at the start of the book

It takes a while for the romance to begin in this book. I struggled with the opening chapters but I ended up liking the main MM romance. 4 solid stars for the last 60% of the book.
The first third is written as MF erotica mixed and slice-of-life fiction featuring a bi protagonist. It didn't work at all for me as I wanted to read a romance novel, and an MM one at that. Going in with the wrong expectations almost caused me to dnf before the main romance even begun.
The MM romance storyline was unexpectedly sweet once the MCs actually met at the . The characterization of Kyle's self-confidence in some areas, paired with equally strong self-doubt in others, his long term wants and wishes and his struggles to voice those to his partner - those parts was so good, cleverly written. The Love Interest, Aidan, seems like a nice guy but too early in the series to say I know much about him.
Sort of cliffy warning as this instalment ends on an HFN note, not with Kyle's final HEA. Glad I bought the sequel on a sale long ago, onto it right away!
All the five stars !! I can be short about this ... Yesss this author is still master in the bdsm scene and building up scenes, the anticipation is killing.
Kyle is looking for something permanent. When he sees the New Guy he knows what he wants... hmmm...easier said than done. He has a plan... so he will be noticed as a good sub.
This is the story about Kyle, submissive, witty and longing for a long time relationship... sometimes self-confident sometimes without... he wants so much...and doesn't want to seem desperate for it.
When Kyle and Aidan are together it's pure temptation and seduction and highly erotic.
All the scenes are just breathtaking put down. All the pre and aftercare wonderful! We get a amazing look inside the bdsm scene, only from a different pov. Kyle and Aidan personalities are wonderful developed... and still there is plenty to learn about them. I specially loved the parts where only Kyle and Aidan are involved in. Well-conceived and extremely entertaining. The writing is sublime. I'm desperate for the next installment...

This is such an excellent story that had me falling for the characters so nicely. Especially Kyle who goes through such a nice character arc. This is set between a Dom and a Sub who agree to be exclusive for two weeks and boy did I love their interactions. Even the two scenes Kyle got into to get Aidan’s attention were a joy to read because they taught me so much about BDSM in such a healthy way. This book is very fluffy and I recommend it to fans of the BDSM genre who are in the mood for something softcore and has a lot of great moments not only between the MC & LI but also the MC and the community.
This is my first time reading this author's work and I quite enjoyed it. There is actually a lot less BDSM play in it than one would expect especially if you go by the cover, but there are definitely D/s and kink elements within. The story is presented through Kyle's eyes, a popular and sassy sub who definitely likes to top from the bottom. I absolutely adored him. His head's a lot of fun to be in, which is a good thing, because there's definitely a lot of that as we follow him about his day as he splits his time between working from home at his graphic design work and the club, where he's a regular patron and demo sub extraordinaire. I really enjoyed his interactions with his best friend and neighbor Jenny, as well as all his kink club buddies, both Doms and subs alike. I loved how he was both super nervous AND extremely calculated trying to hook the new Dom (aka fresh meat). I absolutely adored that his love interest Aidan was this quiet, unassuming, khaki-wearing art history professor and not your typical broody, leather-sporting, ripped Alpha Dom. One thing to note is that the romantic element is not quite what you would expect in a traditional romance as this is the first book in an on-going series. It ends on a very sweet and hopeful note as Kyle and Aidan take the next step in their budding D/s relationship. I for one am definitely looking forward to Book 2!
To Seek and to Find is the first book in Tamryn Eradani’s new Enchanting Encounters series and I really enjoyed it. Kyle is a great POV character and Eradani does a wonderful job of really helping us get to know him with a lot of depth over the course of the book. He has a bit of arrogance about his appearance and skills as a sub, with the right mix of vulnerability that makes him so appealing and likable anyway. He wants Aiden’s attention, but it is clear that despite his bravado, what he really wants is a relationship, someone to call his own for good and not just for the night. I did feel like it was hard at first to see just what about Aiden had Kyle so fixated, as he is kind of obsessed with getting Aiden’s attention before he knows the guy at all. I couldn’t tell if it is the allure of someone new at the club, purely physical, or something else. We also get to know Kyle much better than we do Aiden, which makes sense given the way the story is structured and paced. Given that this is a series, I assume there will be more to come for Aiden, but at this point his story is pretty sparse.
Engaging and sexy with a realistic portrayal of both bisexual identity and D/s relationship/negotiation (as in it closely aligns with personal experience, though it may not be the same for others).
What I liked... The MC, a submissive and bisexual man, was both experienced and had clarity on what he wanted in a scene, in a relationship, and for himself beyond his sexual encounters. The reader watches him play a role in guiding new Doms on the scene and plays an active role in creating scenes and providing feedback. Kyle is very much his own person, accountable for his weaknesses as well as his strengths. And he's reflective, often knowing in advance where he's made a mistake and able to articulate where he's gone wrong and where he would do things differently in the future. Ultimately, this is a man who knows himself very well. I like Kyle for Kyle's sake but I also like how this portrayal knocks fantasy portrayals of submissives on their respective heads and even calls these stereotypes out. Being a submissive is not about being spineless. Furthermore, in focusing more on negotiation, trust, and power exchange--choosing to submit rather than being coerced to submit--it clarifies more of the D/s relationship, as opposed to S&M portrayals of BDSM as the norm.
I also liked the aspects of care--relative to a scene and beyond it. Having the Dom require things like comfortable setting, water, cleanliness available before the first scene as a way of caring for Kyle establishes character and trust. More than that, the sense of tight-knit community, of the acceptance of each other's preferences, and of caring for each other, watching out for each other, and creating an emotional and financial space to support the co-existence of each other. Outside of Kyle's relationship with his best friend Jenny, I wouldn't call this a found family per se. But it is a community in which people are invested in each other's well being. As such, I found this the most romantic element of the book.
Which means that the growing relationship between Aidan and Kyle is not the most romantic part of this relationship. I liked both the MC and the LI. I liked their mutual attraction. I liked how they listened to each other and negotiated next steps without doing anything either was uncomfortable with. I liked how they navigated emotional turmoil. They had nice chemistry. For me, their relationship wasn't earth shattering but it was something each was excited about. Weirdly, Kyle's interaction with the new Dom Richard at the beginning of the story was more compelling. Perhaps this is because I could tap into more of what Kyle brought to the relationship. By the end of the book, I got the sense that I might see more of this dynamic in book 2 of the Kyle-Aidan story but I'm not sure I'm invested in them enough as a couple to go there.
That said, I very much enjoyed reading this part of their story and recommend it.
My goodness, I did not expect to enjoy this one as much as I did. Although there were some few things that I didn't quite get into during the course of this story, there were just so many genuine moments that were a pleasure to read and I am already looking forward to the rest of this series.
To start with, the third person present tense bugged the hell out of me. It was alienating as hell. I also didn't really love the beginning scene, it didn't draw me in. In my opinion, it should have started at the club, Enchanting Encounters.
Now, that's so much of what I loved about this story. Enchanting Encounters is an amazing idea for a kink club, where people can book rooms for scenes, or do scenes publicly, but with the understanding that they will be given a band if they've played that signifies they can't drink afterwards for the rest of that night.
Another wonderful thing that I loved about this club was the way it showed the Doms who regularly attended looking after the subs they knew. That rang really true to me of my own experience, and was handled with obvious love in this book.
About the only thing I didn't love about this setting was that it wasn't always clearly communicated where exactly they were, which left me as the reader with too much that I had to imagine without assistance.
The character of Kyle could have been me, he was so identifiable to me. Although I also very much liked Aiden, there were times when I would have liked just a bit more of a hint into his head and what he was thinking before or during his actions.
First thing this book was in third person present tense and the amount of time the characters name is written drove me nuts. second of all i felt kind of let down. the blurb sounded so good. I did not personally connect with any of the characters. i did however check the ending and it was a happy one so that is good
*Received from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review*
This was a let down for me. I feel the blurb didn't accurately portray what the book was mostly about. The sex was a let down and Kyle's attitude was annoying. I skimmed a lot. It had a happy ending.

To Seek and To Find is the first book in the Enchanting Encounters series and also my first book by the author. The blurb intrigued me and I wasn't disappointed.
I liked the fact that we saw all things through Kyle's eyes, the first person narration, also in present tense let us explore the thing with him together - an experience quite hot tbh sometimes but also intriguing. It also gave us as a reader the perfect insight of his daily life, of his chatty, bratty attitude - which I liked a lot - and how he experiences his life as a sub in a BDSM club searching for "his" Dom.
Kyle is trying to catch Aiden's attention the moment he met him in the club. What I like about this was not only the way how Kyle tries to catch his attention - in attending to special demonstration scenes in the club with different doms, male and female - but also that we got into the story in medias res. We were there right from the start, there wasn't unnecessary pre-rambling, but we got enough information to see the characters develop from page one on and how the different cast is interacting with each other, how they relationships are. It gave me the necessary intro and insight of the different dynamics.
Some might be irritated by the on page M/F scenes and that Kyle is bisexual and openly having scenes not only with male but also female Doms. As much as I understand that people aren't super fond of the lenght or explicity of the scenes, it never was mentioned in the blurb that Kyle isn't bisexual (the publisher's website actually mentions it) or that he is switching his partners when it comes to his doms. For me the scenes were perfect and I loved them dearly. They are graphic, yes, they are explicit but the commitment, the agreement on both sides is what I cherish and value. We also get Kyle's preferences and through the scenes we got what he is searching for. I'd say even if you normally don't read M/F: give it a try, because the book and the scenes, may it Kyle with Renee or Robert or later Aiden are full of emotions, in different ways but all so hot and intriguing and fascinating. I also recommend this book with these scenes for non M/M readers who love BDSM stories in general and wanna try something new, because it's exactly what I'd pick up if I'd wanna get the "best" of both. ;) As I said the commitment and the respect in the other's limits is so capturing.
Within the book we explore the events through and with Kyle. I loved the community, the acceptance and the good natured jokes they make, the friendly mocking. It's like a big family, a community, where the different members share the same tastes, know about limits, no-gos and preferences.
When Kyle and Aiden explore their time together, get to know each other better, the book shifts a bit, but not to a negative aspect, oh no. In fact I loved how different Kyle is with Aiden without totally losing his character. But he is seeing Aiden differently, he starts to like him for him, want to share more with him than just scenes and this tentative, gentle, actually vulnerable side of Kyle is charming and fascinating.
I really loved that with Aiden we had a non-alpha-like dom, someone who's not running like a mindless caveman. He is a history professor, knows how to interact with a lot of people and how to present himself properly. He has a certain dicipline and the way he acts in the scenes, how he dominates Kyle is hot and well-displayed as well as balanced. There is strength behind his actions, his words and orders but he never forces Kyle to anything. His caring nature is clear right from the start, and the scenes are way to let loose but still to remain control, never to overwhelm. Both agree to a two-weeks trial and I loved how this developed and the end made it very promising what we can expect. For now I'd call the end a HFN - because there's so much potential - and I'm really looking forward what we see in book two, I hope for more about the two, of course but would love to read about other pairings too. :) I have to wait and see.
I can totally recommend this book and enjoyed it dearly, it was in all departments well developed, showed commitment and agreement in the right places, was full of hot, thrilling scenes but had also the gentle touch. The cover - I've to stress it out at this place - is the perfect conclusion of it: rough, but gentle, strength against (commited) surrender and submisson. 5 out of 5 stars for it. It won't be definitely the last book I pick up by the author. :)
Y'ALL THIS BOOK! The moment I saw it on NineStar Press I wanted to read it. I just saw the cover and that it was written by Tamryn Eradani and I needed this book. I've read (and loved!) the Daniel & Ryan series written by the same author and Eradani has easily become one of my auto-buy authors. So I might have checked NetGalley obsessively until it finally was available for request and y'all it did not disappoint. I loved, loved loved it and am SO excited for the second installment in this series.
What I love about To Seek and to Find -- and also the authors Daniel and Ryan series -- is that she writes about aspects of BDSM you don't often see in books. It's not all whips and canes and floggers in her stories -- which definitely can be fun too -- but it's also nice to focus on other parts of the whole spectrum of BDSM. Though I should add that I don't have any experience with BDSM myself, so I can't say how realistic or true to real life they are. In To Seek and to Find we see a couple of role-play scenes, which I really enjoyed. Eradani easily writes a more rough scene one time and the next is a first date role play -- which was seriously sweet! It was also unusual that the very first scene between both main characters takes place over the phone, though it was no less enjoyable and I found this to work perfectly for Aiden and Kyle.
I love Kyle, period. LOVE him. He's cute, determined and I love his sense of humour. I'd love to hang out with him because he seems really fun to be around. Plus he loves to cook! Kyle is bisexual and a rather sassy sub, very vocal about what he wants and needs and a really active member of Enchanting Encounters. He regularly scenes with a couple of Doms but is yearning for a permanent relationship with a Dom. Enter Aiden, a new to the club Dom, who immediately draws Kyle's attention and becomes Kyle's "object of desire". What really made me love Kyle though were his moments of insecurity. Those were the ones that I could relate to the most -- and it added another layer to his personality.
Aiden is an art history professor, who, at first glance does not appear like the caricature of a Dom we often see in BDSM-themed books: leather-wearing, ripped, alpha-Dom. On the contrary as a Dom he appears more quiet and unassuming - but he still knows how to handle Kyle. I also really appreciated how Eradani emphasized the importance of negotiations before, communication during and aftercare after a scene. I really loved that in her Daniel and Ryan series and am happy to see it also featured in this series. The dynamic between both Aiden and Kyle was delicious and I liked how their relationship progressed.
To Seek and to Find is told solely from Kyle's perspective. This gave Aiden a bit of a mysterious vibe, because we have no idea what he's thinking. And it makes the beginning of the story extra riveting -- as a reader you're left wondering if Aiden has noticed Kyle yet, whether he is similarly attracted to him and what he thinks.
At the end of the story there are still some loose ends regarding Kyle's experiences with another Dom and I hope we'll revisit those in the next installment -- which I can't. wait. for! 100% recommended!
This starts with m/f scenes so if that isn't your thing, be warned. What I didn't like about it was that the first third of the book was mostly Kyle strutting around with other members of the club trying to attract Aiden’s attention. Also, it was all from Kyle's POV so I wasn't clear as to what exactly Aiden saw in a guy who spent his time time doing scenes with other Doms. The second third of the book was much better but by that time I was skimming most of the scenes to get to the dialog... and there wasn't much of it until the last couple of chapters. It was well written and diverse, just not my cup of tea.
I would recommend to: Fans of erotic fiction with only a bit of romance, bi-sexual characters and both M/F and M/M intercourse.
I think this was a great start to the series. I adore a brat but Kyle's insecurities kept me from fully enjoying him. Hopefully now that things are a bit more secure we will see him at his best as this series goes on. I have no thoughts on Adian as he was only introduced very surface level in my opinion.
I will say I loved the first date role playing scene.
No me concenció nada. No conecté con los protagonistas ni con la historia, personalmente creo que la forma de contarla no es atractiva y no la hace interesante. No sigo con la serie
I liked this! I think this is the first BDSM book I read were both characters were familiar with the scene. I liked Kyle and Aidan a lot and I enjoyed that they were honest with each other while still bringing their own baggage to the relationship.
I'm excited to see there's going to be another book about them. I'm looking forward to reading it!
Reread June 11, 2018 Reread in preparation for the sequel. Bumping this up to 4 stars.
Absolutely loved this. I really enjoy this type of bdsm story... it felt very genuine and I really felt an authentic sense of community, as well as a really fantastic connection between the MCs. And great chemistry between these two in all aspects!
Kyle works from home as a graphic designer which allows him a lot of flexibility and freedom in his personal life. He needs that flexibility because he has a very healthy sex life and is very involved in the BDSM community.
Kyle does demos at the local club: Enchanting Encounters. He has some casual encounters and a few people he likes to scene with including best friend Jenny. But what he really wants is someone who will enter into something more permanent with him, something emotional and physical at the same time.
New Guy appears at the club and Kyle is interested instantly. The problem is that it’s a small club and an even smaller community so Kyle has to have a plan if he wants to attract the Dom’s attention. Kyle isn’t shy about public demos and loves having attention on him in a scene. New Guy has an intensity about him that is something Kyle wants. Seems like a good match, right?
Jenny agrees to help Kyle with Project: Notice Me by showcasing him in a demo at the club… which Kyle describes as “… like a karaoke night except with less public humiliation. Well, depending on the scene.”
Finally, Kyle participates in a session with a new Dom and his friend Renee. New Guy, now known as Aiden sees the demo. Kyle approaches him and it seems it’s only the yellow-post-scene caution bracelet that stops them from acting on the draw they feel between each other.
They agree to a two-week contract and begin the intriguing push and pull of figuring out how compatible they are. The BDSM is accurate and well thought out. If you’re unfamiliar with the world of BDSM, this is a great book to enter into a short-term contract with. (did you see what I did there?)
Kyle’s bisexuality is woven seamlessly throughout the text; his feelings are fluid and described really well. In fact, I think this is one of the first times I’ve read a bisexual character that wasn’t defined by his sexual relationship throughout the book. Kyle just is bisexual, like he’s a bit of a brat and loves attention.
I liked that the book stayed on course for exploring the Ds relationship of Kyle and Aiden rather than the often-committed error of falling into the story being a run-of-the-mill romance. Eradini makes it clear early on that these two men are attracted to one another, they quickly learn they are very compatible when scening, but it’s also very clear that there are things in each of their pasts that they will have to discuss if they want to stay together.
As a Dom, Aiden is very conscientious and perceptive. His character isn’t expanded upon a great deal in this story but that didn’t bother me. I have a feeling there is much more to come in the future installations.
On the other hand, Kyle is a lovely creature! Even in the too-short 146 pages of this book, I was able to realize how much I liked him. He’s pushy and mouthy, vulnerable and still learning about himself. He’s a free-spirited sub and his confidence is only rattled when he feels himself beginning to want more from Aiden. I loved the way he was written. He’s had a bad experience in his past that is a real challenge to him when it comes to trust and being restrained even though it’s something he clearly craves.
I requested this as I haven't seen too many M/M D/s stories that were done with full consent. I was ready for one. I was ready for abuse to not be the norm for power play in a romance. This book delivered so hard.
The writing style was odd and a bit off putting, I put up with it to try and get to the content. I needed to know if Eradani would produce what I needed. I had to make it to at least the first scene between the main men. In the mean time I was surprised with a wonderfully deep relationship between Kyle and his lesbian best friend and sometimes Domme. It was such a wonderful and touching little detail. There were so many little details that were just wonderful. Those details gave this book its pretty thin plot. There was a backstory to why Kyle likes to cook just randomly in there. It was something I liked, made the sub more than just a sex object despite what he often made himself to be. There was also a sex scene between Kyle and a female Domme, which was totally unexpected. It was so well done! Finally a bisexual sub that is male.
The Dom was pretty flat. He was a professor, he was caring, he was a Dom. That’s it. There was no real character building with him. There was nothing that made me want to even care about Aiden. He wasn’t anything special. He was little sought after because he was new. That’s it. It was a pretty flimsy “romance” plot. I say “romance” because the real thing is, Kyle wanted a long term Dom that he could have a more domestic role with too. He keeps saying that, but not acting like he wants a relationship. There was more telling than showing with the plot. Though the plot was pretty much just a way to string together the sex scenes, like most eroticas. So within genre, this is pretty normal.
The scenes, and I do mean scenes, were intense. There was a great deal of talk of after care and consent. HUGE buttons for me. Please beat up the sub and make him cry, hurt him all day, but you better let him heal and take care of him after. You better have him saying yes to this. Without consent and without aftercare, this book would have been a tame 1970’s gay erotic. With consent and aftercare, it has become something so far beyond my expectations. This book does not equate rape with a healthy sexuality. This book allows a D/s relationship to have ups and downs, but not rely on breaking consent to be that trigger.
If you can get past the weird tense of the writing style and the multiple typos, then you might be able to enjoy it. I buzzed through it in a few hours, cringing every typo, but I was so thankful for the consent and aftercare that I am still able to give four stars.
This is such a fantastic book I almost cried when it was over because I need the rest of their journey now.
So normally I am not a fan of third person present tense but this book really worked for me. And by worked I mean sucked down and didnt let me go.
Our mc Kyle is an experienced sub and enjoys playing with anyone. But he is tired and wants to find that one dom. That sounds like a bad pun leading to a trashy kink book but it doesnt. He scenes with two dommes in this book at the beginning once in a nonsexual rope bondage scene and another more sexual. I both deeply appreciated these scenes and overall enjoyed all the female characters in this book.
Aiden our Dom is not a stereotypical I must control everything about you dom either which was truly refreshing.
They are both respectful of each other and their boundaries as they agree to explore a two week trail. The scenes in this book are both really hot and really simple. From phone sex and orgasm play to "meeting a stranger in the alley wall sex" and frist date role play. They are all so simple but so powerful. Not over the top but for our characters they are really emotional as they get to know each other. Also cuddling lots of cuddling. Which I need more of in books.
There is a lot of emotional negotiation as Kyle tries to not come across as to needy because it doesn't want to scare Aiden away. Which is completely legit and Aiden helps him work through since he isnt there well after the scene ends. All of the aftercare is realistic as to what would happe in real life even over the phone.
How they both approach deciding on a three month contract is very fair with them laying out their issues from past scenes gone wrong with other partners.
Overall I am really excited to read the next installment with this couple and the rest of this authors books
Kyle is a perfect sub. Not only does he think so, but he has plenty of offers from the Doms at the club. Kyle knows what he likes, and what he currently would like is the attention of Aidan, the newest Dom at the club. So Kyle books a series of public demonstrations to get Aidan to notice him.
This book is a mostly a series of scenes as we get to know Kyle. He really wants a relationship and someone that will call him their own and his current sessions are only biding him time at this point. The first half of the book is Kyle scening with a few different Doms and it lays the groundwork for what Kyle likes. Aidan catches his eye early in the book, but it’s past the halfway point that the two have any real on page time together.
Aidan is new to the club, but not new to the scene. He’s hesitant after his last relationship and is cautious with Kyle. Their trial run is more erotic in nature, but Kyle still longs for everything. I liked Kyle and I liked his voice. This book was not highly relationship focused and I wasn’t so sure how much Kyle was really into Aidan or if he saw him as his next best shop at having a permanent Dom. For the scenes they were exploring it all felt to tentative and hesitant for me and I needed a little more from their story as there is little character development other than what Kyle likes in the bedroom.
This is the beginning of a series that will take Kyle and Aidan further into their relationship. The BDSM scenes are mild and could work if you are looking to explore a growing D/s relationship.
A hefty chunk of BDSM erotica is wish filament to the exclusion of reality. A hot millionaire has a complete dungeon club in his basement? Sure, why not. A Dom can tell who's a sub just by looking? All over the place. There's a range from harmless to egregious but in each case reality is shoved off to the side.
To Seek and to Find, on the other hand, strikes me as utterly real. The first BDSM scene is the lowest key public bondage I've read - Kyle lies down while a rope corset and halter is put on him. No suspension, no gag, just rope on his torso. Even this, super simple and basic compared to other erotica, makes Kyle dip deep into subspace with repercussions that last into the next day.
There are bunches of little things that make me wonder why I haven't read them before. For example, Kyle subs in a guided scene for a new Dom. In many books that'd be it, but here we see the pre-scene discussion over coffee, guidance during the scene itself, and a post-mortem the next day to go over what worked and what didn't. These all strike me as Very Good Ideas, and give the impression that Eradani knows what she's talking about.
Let's not forget the romance - haltingly sweet (in a good way), with good communication, hot sex, and groom to grow. To Seek and to Find has a happily-ever-after-for-now ending and I can't wait to see how Kyle and Aiden grow as a couple. A great read even if it's a little out of your sweet spot.

To Seek and to Find by Tamryn Eradani is an interesting MM BDSM romance. It's cute at parts and frustrating at others.
Kyle is a sub who is looking for a permanent Dom. So far he hasn't found anyone that he clicks with. When Aidan shows up at Enchanting Encounters, the club Kyle frequents, he develops a crush on the Dom from afar. Determined to get Aidan's attention, Kyle does scene after scene. But once he captures this Dom's attention, will he find the one or will it all be for naught?
The beginning of the book before Kyle and Aidan have any contact was a bit long. It felt drawn out and parts were not really relevant to the story of them, but they did give insight to Kyle. Once Kyle and Aidan got together though the book read smoother. I enjoyed their back and forth and the differences between the two. One thing I really wished I could have had was Aidan's POV also. There were so many times I wanted to know what was going through his head, and what did he think of Kyle and his crazy antics?
While I found some parts of this slow and frustrating, I really do love the characters of Kyle and Aidan, as well as Kyle's BFF Jenny and can't wait to read book two.
To Seek and To Find by Tamryn Eradani is the first book in the Enchanting Encounters series. I really like this start. It is a tiny bit edge and a whole lot of connection going on. Now if you are a pure MM reader this is not a book for you. The MF scenes might put you off. For me, I don’t mind that Kyle is bisexual. This story is told from Kyle’s point of view. While first person POV can be pretty limiting in a story, I did like it for this one. I liked getting to know the inner workings of Kyle. Aiden is a history professor. I like that he is not super alpha male. He is kinda ordinary. But he has a deep need to dominate his partner during sex. He is good at interacting with others. He is all around a very nice person. Overall a good series start. I would love to explore more in this series in the future.
