First of all, I have to admit — I felt uneasy with the author’s writing style. Something about it didn’t sit right at first. But after pushing through the first four chapters, I finally understood why my teenage self once fell in love with this book.

The story begins with Kendra, who accidentally drags Andre into a strange situation — they both fall into a place where two unmarried people will automatically be married when the clock strikes 21:00. And just like that, their unexpected marriage begins.

Kendra had already fallen for Andre long before that fateful night. When the marriage happened, both promised themselves it would be their first and only. But of course, love stories aren’t that simple. Almost every problem that followed — let’s say 100% of it — came from Andre: his attitude, his emotional immaturity, and especially his ex, Sellina.

Sellina is... something else. Probably the wildest character I’ve ever read — and what makes it crazier is that this story is based on true events. That means Sellina really exists, and honestly, I can’t believe people like her actually walk among us. Andre, bound by a past promise to help Sellina build a bistro, keeps meeting her behind Kendra’s back. But instead of being honest about it, he hides everything — turning his secret into a ticking time bomb.

What intrigues me most is knowing that 80% of this story is drawn from real life, especially the raw, emotional dialogues between Kendra and Andre. I have to give a standing ovation to Kendra — because seriously, what kind of strength does it take to stay after everything Andre did? He kept seeing his ex, let her flirt with him (which I’d totally call cheating), failed to set boundaries, spoke harshly, hurt Kendra’s feelings again and again — and even had the audacity to kiss his ex before “remembering” his wife.

And Andre — if you really had such deep trauma about women and cheating, why didn’t you go to therapy instead of making Kendra your emotional punching bag?

One last thing kept bothering me: both Kendra and Andre are Muslim, so how was their marriage considered valid when it happened accidentally — and without Kendra’s guardian present? That question still lingers in my head.

In the end, this story reminded me why love isn’t always romantic — sometimes it’s messy, painful, and painfully real. Maybe that’s why my teenage self loved it. Because it showed how loving the wrong person can still teach us something about the right kind of love we deserve.

Maksudnya gimana, apa emang lg usil mau ngerjain kendra ato bercanda ato gimana? .. mau disleding banget itu kayaknya mulutnya si andre .. jadi esmosi jiwa saya .. hahahaha ... udah gitu dia ga inget lagi pernah bilang kata2 itu .. itu beneran gak inget? Kl emang berdasarkan kisah nyata, tlg ditanyain lagi ke si andre nya .. makasih ..

Baca pertama kali pas masih on going di wattpad sampe diulang2x hingga diterbitkan. 7 tahun kemudian baru beli buku fisiknya buat diulanh baca dan masih seseru itu tipe novel sekali duduk kelar. Tema ceritanya umum. Tapi alasan nikah mendadak karna insidennya yy unik, katanya kisah nyata, terlepas iya nggak nya karna lebih banyakan bumbu2nya sih. Gaya penulisannya bikin terbawa suasana.
