From USA Today Bestselling author Liv Morris comes a love story about the one who got away and the possibility of a second chance.
Colin Dawson and Kirsten Parker haven't spoken to each other in over a decade. During high school they were devoted sweethearts who thought their love would survive as they headed to different colleges. But Colin's bad decisions tore them apart and left Kirsten finding comfort in another man's arms. Losing her was the biggest regret of Colin's life and still haunted him.
Now fourteen years after their breakup, Kirsten returns to their hometown of Dallas when her marriage disintegrates. She's invited to a night out with old high school friends and finds a newly divorced Colin joining them too.
What happens when Colin comes face to face with the love of his life? Will fate give them another chance to make things right or will Kirsten's hidden secret stand in their way?

It’s always nice when a book, no matter how short, takes you by surprise and Sweet Seconds did just that.
We’d both married the wrong person, and it had taken years for us to realize or admit our mistake.”
Focusing on Kirsten and Colin who are gifted a second chance at love, this story held a little of the unexpected, a lot of heartfelt and was sprinkled with sexy throughout. I could have happily read a full length novel based around this couple—being novella length their reconnection had somewhat of a speedy feel—but with a great writing voice, I definitely see more of Liv Morris’ books in my future.
It’s like I carried around a piece of us, together, in my heart.”
This was a good short read about second chance love, about the mistakes when can make when we're young and the consequences that follow. Kirsten and Colin get a second chance to rekindle the love they once shared and this time they'll have to forgive and move on from their pasts to be able to find their happiness again. There's no doubt about how much theses two loved each other and still do. Colin really step up from how much he hurt Kirsten to being a true man when she needed him the most. A sweet read. ❤️
Short story and it really moves fast.. I wish I had more of background story for these characters because it left me with unresolved feelings... what I would say is that her ex husband is a jerk
Sweet Seconds was a sweet, quick second chance romance. It centers around high school sweethearts, Colin and Kristen. When Colin cheats on Kristen in college, the relationship is destroyed. Years later after a failed marriage Kristen moves back to town, pregnant. Can Kristen and Colin rediscover their love for each other?
I ADORED the characters. And the storyline! Their attraction to one another was very noticeable. Their chemistry HOT! I LOVED how protective Colin was...*swoon* I'm sooooo looking to more from Liv in the future!
*I voluntarily read an advance copy of The Vault. This is my honest review of Sweet Seconds.*
The short story Sweet Seconds by Liv Morris was tender, swoon-worthy, and will have you rooting for the characters from the moment you start reading. This story showed how sometimes life brings you back full circle. It made these two realize just how much they always loved one another.
When this story starts Colin Dawson is just getting out of a terrible divorce and runs into his childhood sweetheart Kristen Parker who has had a rough time of it herself. You could tell instantly that Colin wanted his girl back and would do anything to see her smile again. He had made a terrible mistake in the past and had learned a hard lesson in life. He wasn't about to let her go a second time.
Joe Jefferies, Kristen's ex-was the villain in this story. This man needed to go down. The slimeball got off easy if you ask me. I really wanted Colin to kick his tush good.
This story tugged on my heart. I could not help but root for Kristen Parker and Colin Dawson to have their hea. These two deserved a second chance at life.
The Vault is definitely a book to one-click. It is full of stories that will have you cheering for the leads each and every story.
Picking up and moving back home was never part of Kirsten's plan but then again neither was being married to a self-absorbed jerk. Catching up with her old friends and her first love seems like a good idea. Colin is glad his divorce is behind him and reluctantly accepts an invitation to a night out with his old friends. He relishes the opportunity to get to see his high school girlfriend again, if nothing more than to apologize for how he treated her. Until this, I hadn't heard of this author. I like the second-chance romance and the characters. I would definitely consider reading more by this author.
This novella is part of The Vault anthology, and it was my first read by this author and I am so glad that I read this story.
Sweet Seconds is about second chance romance with your high school sweetheart, the story was absolutely beautiful and is well worth the read.
Colin and Kirsten were destined to be together forever, that is till Colin's college hormones got the best of him and Kirsten found out...fast forward 13 years later they find each other again, Colin fresh off a divorce and Kirsten just left her husband. Will the second time around for Colin and Kirsten be the right time????
This story is part of the Vault collection. The story is a quick read but well worth reading. The story centers around high school sweethearts Colin and Kristen. Unfortunately, their relationship was destroyed when they were in college but now they have a second chance to fall in love. They are both coming out of bad marriages and are reacquainted through friends. Soon both realize that their feelings never diminished. I loved how Colin protected Kristen throughout her marriage disaster. He was truly swoon worthy. Loved this book and cannot wait for Liv's next book. This story made me purchase the whole collection.
Sweet Seconds by Liv Morris This was a sweet second chance for Colin and Kristen after meeting up again after all those years to find out their life went all wrong and are still attracted to each other but things are in their path of happiness that have to be dealt with and circumtances that cannot be ignored. Can it happen all over again right this time? The characters were very passionate and so accepting of each others past,it was perfect.I voluntarily read a readers copy of this book
A sweet story of getting a second chance and regretting letting the love of your life go. Colin & Kristen we’re young when they were together and of course Colin while in college did an unthinkable thing and broke Kristen’s heart. Years later they are reunited and Colin will do anything to make up for what he did. Good story Colin at first I didn’t like because I what he did but now him being mature, he will melt your heart.
Colin and Natalie are finalizing their divorce. He's happy to be rid of her. He still wishes that he'd had a brain back in his college frat days and not cheated on his high school sweetheart, Kirsten. Now she's married and he still has a soft spot for her. He learns she's back in town and without her husband. Is she permanently back in town without the husband?
This second chance story is just beautiful. I'm a firm believer that once a cheater always a cheater - but after reading this story, filed with regret on both parties and how Colin decided that he’ll be by Kirsten side no matter what - I have hope for second chances and letting those who have hurt us to prove that they have changed and can love you and give you all you deserve and need!
***I voluntarily received and read an advance copy for honest review***
This is my review for Sweet Seconds by Liv Morris: this second chance at love has everything u want to have in a book. That slow burning hotness till both sides r ready to give it a go filled my heart with tons of emotions that made me live the story as the characters. A must read. Loved every bit of this anthology. Sweet, hot, angst...all the feels in one masive book. Some authors ive read before and some others are the first time ive read someting from them...and ill be checking them soon.
This Sweet Seconds is part of The Vault anthology ! The story of Kristen and Colin began in high school. First time love meant to be but people change and drift apart ...but it certainly doesn't mean that this is the end, their is always a chance to find that spark and undying love that you once had. This one was such a sweet and romantic read! I truly wished I had more of their background . Great story! ~~Michele McMullen ~~
This was a super fast forward almost too sweet chance at love. It was a second chance for Colin and Kristen who were high school sweethearts who both ended up married to some one else. Kristen moves back to her hometown all alone and Colin is there for her through a very nasty divorce. It thought this ok it was Colin taking care of her the whole time. They fall right back in like 10 plus years never happened.
Colin and Kirsten's story make me believe that rainbows come after the storms. They both had horrible marriages to other people but eventually made their was back to each other. I like how they started back as friends instead of rushing back into a relationship. I love how protective Colin is of Kirsten. I adore the friendships of the Love Handles Club and how the accept Kirsten back after years away and support her.
Do you know how much I LOVE second chance romance? Oh, so much. Kirsten and Colin are both getting out of bad relationships and are getting a much needed second chance. Liv tells a tale of a pair who were meant to be together before they lost track of what they wanted - each other. In Sweet Seconds, they get the chance to get back on track
Colin just got divorced from his wife and finds out a past flame is back Kristen. Kristen also left her husband and is pregnant. Can old games reunite and Will Kristen’s husband give a fight about the divorce and the baby?
Not bad. Got that hometown feel to it. She leaves her abusive and controlling husband and runs into the love of her life from high school. This book is sweet and romantic and crazy. I can’t believe how he acted. I would have made a press release anyways
Colin & Kirsten Lost their young love die to dumb mistakes. Which then led to more mistakes compounding throughout the years. But finally they have a second chance together.
This book was only so-so for me. It was nicely edited but the story and dialogue felt flat to me. Not as sophisticated as a lot of authors that I read. Not terrible, but also not great - hence the 3 star rating.
Sweet Seconds from Liv Morris offers a sexy second chance for former high school sweethearts Kirsten and Colin. When college and poor choices end with Kirsten's heart being broken, they both move on to unsuccessful marriages and years of what ifs... A chance meeting of the Love Handles Club brings them back together unexpectedly, and it doesn't take long for old feelings to resurface.
This is a hot and sweet novella I thoroughly enjoyed. Kirsten and Colin are adult characters dealing with real life issues...it's a refreshing storyline worthy of 4.5 stars.
Kirsten and Colin were high school sweethearts and in love until Colin screwed it up.. The reunion of this couple was sweet and not without obstacles. I enjoyed witnessing these two fall back in love with each other.
