Lucius Annaeus Seneca (often known simply as Seneca or Seneca the Younger); ca. 4 BC – 65 AD) was a Roman Stoic philosopher, statesman, and dramatist of the Silver Age of Latin literature. He was tutor and later advisor to emperor Nero, who later forced him to commit suicide for alleged complicity in the Pisonian conspiracy to have him assassinated.

Buku ini menyadarkan banyak hal terutama tentang kematian. Sebagai seseorang yang takut akan kematian, aku merasa bodoh, karena ia adalah sesuatu yang pasti datang dan tidak mungkin kita hindari. Yang terbaik adalah menjalani hidup dengan sebaik baiknya, menjalankan tugas kita sebagai manusia, misalnya berbuat baik.

Tidak takut akan kematian juga adalah sebuah kemerdekaan.
sama seperti memanfaatkan waktu sebaik baiknya yang juga adalah kemerdekaan. Semakin lama kita menunda melakukan sesuatu, maka dia akan perlahan mengambil kemerdekaan kita.

terjemahannya enak, ga bikin bosen. trus isinya juga bagus. sayang pas mau bab bab akhir pembahasannya ga terlalu into me. but this is a good book indeed.

p.s. saya baca versi Bentang paling baru, tapi tidak ada di pilihan edisi, sementara untuk nambah buku harus jadi librarian dulu. 🙃
