I write Hot Contemporary Romance, M/M, Menage, BDSM and Shapeshifter under my pen name - A.L. Simpson.

I have panty melting m/f romance and c*** hardening m/m romance where they always experience adversity but eventually find their way to each other.

The lovin' is HOT and not for the faint hearted. I have a story where the men's coming together in Greece is actually true but we threw in some gun running, murder and drugs to make things a whole lot more interesting. (Destined to Shatter)

In my menage, a m/m/f the heroine refused to stay around so she dies a gut wrenching death leaving the men to cope with a new-born babe. Life got a whole lot more interesting for them. (Diamond Rainbow.)

My shapeshifter takes the form of an Eagle and is out to save the heroine from a drug cartel deep in the forest of South America. (When Eagles Soar)

The Born Series covers social issues and what it's like to be raised in an unsavory area. I explore the mindset of never being good enough.

The Broken Series has Broken Bastard out and Broken Bitch coming soon. These books are about people who are pushed until they break. Book 1 is a m/m. Book 2 is an MC and hopefully will be out late 2017 or early 2018.

Other books on offer have a mistreated, disfigured heroine, a strange cult, a disbabled friend and so much more.

I hope you have the opportunity to check out my offerings.

From the depths of despair to the soaring heights of love found…

I love when I take a chance on a new (to me) author and discover characters that immediately click with me. Callie’s life was a string of nightmares with moments of relief that were way too short. Each page, each chapter had my heart hurting from what she went through, what she had to survive. Jake, strong and an unexpected (and seemingly unlikely) savior, was a welcome port in that relentless storm…

Broken. Callie may have started out that way but she soon found her strength with the help of Jake, his family and his brothers. She endured the worst that life, that people, can dish out, yet she was able to still see what could be possible. The good that her life could become…

I did struggle with the execution of the story. I heard the character’s voices yet I wanted to feel more of the emotions they were feeling. And there were many throughout this roller coaster of ride. There were gut-wrenching moments, and some twists that were determined to derail everything. Thankfully, it was all balanced by the wonder of true love that I hoped would work out for them…

Callie and Jake, and their mesmerizing journey, definitely caught my attention and my heart. A first read for me by this author which has me looking – and happily finding – a backlist to catch up on!

OMG! This book grabs you from the start and you find yourself consuming it greedily all at once! Fair warning...leave yourself some time to really enjoy this story.

What a life poor Callie has from a drug addicted mother to the dreaded foster system and then more! I don't want to give away any more details and spoil it for other readers.

The resilience she displays is amazing and you become so invested in her and her life that you find yourself almost praying for things to go her way! The lows are so far down it seems impossible things will improve but the highs in the story soar to the sky! Two extremes that capture your heart while the relevant emotions swirl around you.

The tie in with the first book is smoothly executed and is an added bonus however you don't need to have read book 1 to enjoy this story but it too is a fabulous tale.

I can't recommend this book enough to everyone. The storyline is creative and has lots of twists and turns, it is also believable which is so important. There is a sweet love story, a hope for brighter and better things and lots of life lessons.

Bring on book 3 please!

Broken Bitch was a short read which I finished in a few hours. I quite enjoyed reading it.

I really liked Jake's character, he was a man with a heart of gold, who loved his family and was completely dedicated to his MC club. I think Callie's character was something, I am bit torn about. I half liked and half disliked her character, it was not like I hated her character, I just felt there were certain things about her behaviour that seemed a bit out of place in my picture of an abuse victim.

Callie and Jake's love story was sweet and beautiful. But I think the best part of the novel was before they came into relationship and after Callie met Jake, the way Jake and his family cared about her and the way she became all hot and bothered when Jake was near was really sweet.

Another thing I loved about this book was Callie's will to live. She suffered so much, was broken so many times but she still she survived.

I had expected Broken Bitch to be a bit more gritty after reading the synopsis, though it had mentions of abuse but it wasn't graphic and not something that in my opinion could be considered a trigger. This is something which was good, because I prefer books without triggers more.

There were some parts of the book which I found to be overly emotional. Maybe because I wasn't been able to connect to Callie well, so I found parts where I felt that way too many emotions were put. Even though this bothered me a bit, but it wasn't something too major.

Final words

Finally I would like to say I liked reading Callie's story and would like to recommend it to all romance readers.

Amount of sex 3 / 5
How explicit 3 / 5
Story 4 / 5
Overall: 4 / 5

Broken Bitch is the second book in the Broken series by author A.L. Simpson. This is a standalone romance, and each book focuses on a different couple. I do recommend reading Broken Bastard, the first book in the series since the characters do appear within the story. Just know that it is not necessary to understand and follow along.

In this story, Callie has had a very rough childhood. It was emotional for me to read, especially since I have two children. Callie finally escaped her horrible living environment and was saved by Jake, the president of the MC. Jake and his sister’s family helped Callie recover since she had some broken bones and was so malnourished that her body did not develop properly.

Now, I know Callie was eighteen in the story, but I had a hard time getting over her underdeveloped body. When Callie was saved, she was able to eat right, and her body started to mature appropriately. I kept telling myself throughout the story that she was of age, but I was uncomfortable in some parts.

I became engrossed in the story during the second half of the book. At that point, I was not concerned about Callie’s malnourished body and thoroughly enjoyed.
I do look forward to the next book in the series.

I think Callie gets the award for the strongest female character I have read so far in 2018.

I cannot imagine the strength it took to endure and overcome all she had been through and for such a young girl!

I was immediately pulled into this story just based off the young girls heartbreak and troubles only for it to evolve in to such a sweet, romantic HEA. Broken Bitch literally pulled me in and was a pretty fast paced read. There was no time to be bored while Callie grew into a woman...that portion of the story was super important to her getting her HEA.

I think Jake was a perfect match for her. Super caring, strong, in charge! She needed a man to really guide her through. Loved him!

This is the first book by A.L. Simpson I have read and this is part of a series, but they seem to be standalones. I'm intrigued enough that I will be keeping my eyes out for other books!

This title by A. L. Simpson is book 2 in the Broken Series and is an exceptional piece of emotional and hard hitting writing.
This is the first thing I have read by this author, it can be read as a standalone, and A. L. Simpson holds nothing back in this instalment of the series.
Callie is a great character, strong and independent as evidenced by her past and present. Jake is also a great character, savvy and loyal and when the two join forces, it is a great journey.
This book tugs on your heart strings and is confronting at times but also sweet, sexy and funny. Well worth the read.
I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.

Wow what can I really say. I have read a few of AL Simpsons books and by far Broken Bitch has it all and is the best book she has written by far. I was quite surprised when this book had me in tears.
My heart just broke for Callie. I mean how much can one person take before they break.
Jake Prentiss is one seriously hot alpha male.
Callie and Jake are so great together. The blending of these two characters together is sizzling hot.
Congrats AL Simpson on a great story. I was hooked on these two characters from the start.

This story centres around this poor teenager who's led a life of hell in the foster system.
How many broken bones and other injuries can one stand before losing their life. She was at the end of hers when she escaped. At 17 she is picked up by an MC President who takes her to safety.
Just when you think it's now smooth sailing there is a twist that you won't see coming. Great story, it kept me glued to my kindle and I read from start to finish in one go.
