What a Self Love Yoga Practice Can Help You With Letting go of negative thinking Letting go of negative self talk Deeper understanding of Self Deeper compassion for Self Mind, body, and soul reprogramming Confidence in your spiritual practice Daily motivation to keep you focused on loving yourself
To be very honest, I thought it was a Yoga tutorial book when I first got to know about this. However, when I started reading I saw it's not a 'physical' exercise book, but it's more like a book to be motivated spiritually. And I've learned something new that Yoga is not only confined to do some kinds of stuff with hands and legs but also some other things. The method of reading depends on the individual. One can either 'read' the book or he/she can 'practice' it. As I was supposed to finish the book within a specific time, I could only go through the pages. But if anyone gets enough time he/she can go through the process written here. It's interesting. All the contents this book carrying are very inspiring, and it has the ability to make your mind fresh and make you feel energetic even though you are only 'reading' it. This book can be a cure for many of those people like me who act something unfair out of anger, and regret when they come to sense. This book teaches not to regret what is done, but to do the right thing at right time. One can feel a change inside the mind once finished reading the book. It's because the book is all about happiness. In my eyes, I didn't see any approach of the author to portray the sorrows of life to be something important. The word 'I' is written as 'Eye' in this book, I don't know why. Maybe for the readers to remain attentive to the book! I felt a bit complex when I was being mixed up with these two words. The book's title is containing two significant words, 'self love'. Obviously, the whole book has an intention to teach how to love yourself more, how to live a happier, fresh, and eventful life with all the positivity you have; as well as spreading the message to the whole universe. Reading the whole review, if anyone thinks it's a kinda book with a bunch of motivational speeches, then he/she is wrong. Because this book doesn't motivate, rather it shows how to motivate. Whether it is you or any other person. Finally, the author must be admired for carefully picking up the points regarding self-love and self-inspiration; and depicting them with a huge love for all those the book is written for.
*The book was given to me via Booktasters in exchange for an honest review*
Self Help Yoga By Phoeba Del Mar is a self help book on self love just like it says in the book's title. The yoga stated here is not physical per say but mental. It has different daily manifestations that must first be thought about mentally and then carried out physically if need be.
For the sake of this review, I finished reading the book in under a week. However, in the practice this book is a long journey on self love that should take exactly 369 days to complete the number of affirmations therein (rinse and repeat!)The affirmations are what guides what you do on a particular day as you announce yourself to the world.
The positive energy emanating from this practice is greatly underrated for the uninformed and greatly appreciated by those already initiated into the power of spoken words and positive thoughts. Indeed, the Bible says there is power in a spoken word, what better way to make this come to fruition than exercising your mind/mentality through the daily affirmations succinctly put out by the writer.
Instead of waking up in the morning and running straight to catch the latest gossip on social media, how about you influence your mindset positively by reading an affirmation a day. Bearing this affirmation in mind, you can easily notice and repel negative energy bent on distorting your thoughts. Writing it down and pinning on walls or car windows as the writer so clearly stated could help you remember your daily affirmation as you go through the hustle and bustle of the day.
"Day 125: Eye feel proud of my being by practicing self love and prioritizing me"...if you don't love yourself, who will?. Remember, I think therefore I am!. Excellent piece. I begin mine today!
Self Love Yoga initially struck me as the sort of book only a particular segment of the general populace would find useful. I'm referring to the type that consults their horoscope religiously, New Age believers, crystal healing proponents; people of an airy fairy inclination. For one thing, throughout the book, ‘I’ is written as ‘Eye’ ostensibly to represent the ‘Higher Self’ (no pun intended). So, I was pleasantly surprised to find that was not the case, at least, if you approach it open-minded.
The book has daily ‘Positive Affirmations’ for a 369-day period to be meditated on to ‘form a practice of self-love’. The affirmations are typically pithy one-line sentences. Phoebe Del Mar stresses this is necessary to overcome an habitual self-hate mindset. The yoga aspect of the book therefore refers to the mental exercise of learning to think positively about oneself.
As a self help book, it works. Yes, it’s easy to scorn at the platitudinal tone, but I found some affirmations emotive, even striking. And I believe those moments, few as they might be, coming across an affirmation that provides a unique insight into yourself, make the book as a whole worth reading.
Thanks to Booktasters, publisher and author for allowing me to read this book so I can review it. This book is about daily affirmations and I was curious to read them. Once in a while I like to read self-help books that have a positive message and are easy to follow. This book was easy to read and that made it enjoyable. This book gives good advice on how to prepare for the exercise of daily affirmations. It also offers interesting questions to get to know ourselves. I will be thinking of many of the affirmations in this book. The book had a few elements that were distracting, like, the use of the word "Eye" instead of "I" and I could not find the explanation for it. It was mostly a great read! I prefer to read thrillers but for people that like positive self affirmations this is a great book to try.
Self love yoga isn't just a book to read and learn how to love yourself, as the name suggests. It also doesn't contain yoga poses. It is a journey, one written by the skilled intuitive healer, Phoebe Del Mar.
Carefully written in simple terms, the author teaches the power of affirmation and provides 369 beautiful affirmations that will help you build self love and radiate positive energy around you. These affirmations are to be said, one for each day. So don't rush to finish the book. The colourful pages also make the book inviting.
Recommended for anyone struggling with low self esteem, or people who just need to learn to love themselves even more. It's a self help book. Need help? Start your journey with Del Mar today.
This was a different style of book to the ones that I normally read. In this book there is a focus on cultivating self-love and the challenges that doing so can bring.
In the book, Phoebe Del Mar discusses affirmations and how they can be both challenging to embed and rewarding if used effectively.
There are a number of practical tips in this book, designed to help the reader on their journey. You get the sense that she is also very self-aware throughout this journey too.
She touches on topics such as motivation and introspection and asks the reading interesting and thought provoking questions.
Then, of course you are taken on the journey, day by day. However, throughout she provides the reader with support, guidance and motivation.
To be completely honest, I thought this is was a Yoga exercise book when I signed up to review it. I didn't realize it was a daily devotional-like book until after I started reading it this morning; which I read in one sitting. Yep, I read all 369 affirmations back-to-back. The sayings are simple and easy to remember. If you repeat them several times a day, they can probably help boost yours self-esteem. The author states it takes 66 days for a habit to become part of your normal life, so you might not see major results from the affirmations right away.
Overall, I enjoyed reading Self Love Yoga: 369 Days of Evolving with Radical Self Love.
Where do I begin?! Well, the book is nice, and the idea itself is also nice. It is divided into a 365-day plan to improve ourselves. That was a very good thing. However, the amount of structural mistakes in the book was a turn off for me. The language was also pompous and bombastic, very much so. And changing "I" for "eye" was a huge turn off for me. Really! Seriously?? I appreciated the gesture and the idea of helping others. But not like that. I am trying to avoid spoilers. However, I was struggling to keep reading the book. Nonetheless, if the author worked on these things, I think it will be a much better read.
An interesting read, filled with nice tips and tricks for building self-care and introspection. The book includes an introduction and guide for usage and then the majority of the book is prompts and questions to ask yourself to understand yourself better, a line a day for 369 days. Although sometimes the science mentioned can be a little more interpretive and personal than based in study, such as using the law of thermodynamics to relate to love which you can't create or destroy, if you don't mind that approach to ideas, the tone of the book is kind and thoughtful and good to build people up. The formatting of the pages is bright and colourful.
First of all, thanks to Booktasters for helping me discover the book and to our author for providing me with a print out of the book. At first I imagined the book differently. Yoga here is mental and spiritual, not physical. I learned that yoga is not just about arm and leg movements, but something that motivates you spiritually. If you are reading books fast and have time, you can finish this book in half an hour. I want to mention something else, in the book the word "I" is written as "Eye". This confused me, I couldn't understand. The book was mostly about happiness, and after a long time I had not read such a book.
Self help yoga written by Del Mar is not merely a physical exercise book Where methods and benefits of various Yoga posses and asanas are written about Which I thought would be before reading the book. This book is basically a Self Help book Where the author has written about various self love yoga practice, a mental exercise to discover and love oneself through various affirmations that includes introspection, nurturing our self compassion and reprieve our self worth.
