Recently separated, Charlotte Winters is eager to start over. After the death of her father, she comes back home to Shimmer Pointe Beach and must decide to either, keep the family beach house, or sell it to the handsome and adventurous, Theo Glenn. Can Charlotte come to peace with her past? Will Theo follow his heart and take a chance on love?
Sterling Keyes always has a story in her head. She loves the characters that come forward, take shape, and fall in love in the stories and hopes that you will fall in love with them too.
Sterling has been working on a series, The Shimmer Pointe Romance series, which will follow the lives of several connected characters as they find love on the beautiful sunny and wind swept, Shimmer Pointe Beach on the Delaware coast.
2018 is going to be a big year, with one to two new books slated to be released in the Shimmer Pointe Romance series every month!
Thank you for going on this journey with Sterling Keyes! She hopes that you become a fan!
The Beach House by Sterling Keyes made me fall in love with reading romance books again! This novella is the perfect summer/beach read... great writing, very relatable characters, and a perfect beach setting. A beautiful love story that pulled me in right from the start! This is the first book in A Shimmer Pointe Series and I'm really looking forward to reading the next book! Highly Recommend this gem!
When Charlotte Winters returns to Shimmer Pointe Beach to settle her father's affairs, she's not sure what she is going to do next. Not only with the stuff in his house, but also with the rest of her life. She has just filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years after she caught him cheating. She's not sure if she will stay in the family beach house or return to life in Seattle. But when Charlotte meets Theo, things get even more confusing. She's not ready to start another relationship, but she also can't imagine her life without Theo in it.
Thank you to Sterling Keyes for the opportunity to read and review her book.
This book was a short romance that had me hooked from the start. Immediately I wanted to be Charlotte's friend and help her through her difficult time. Imagine living on the other side of the country from your family and slowly losing the closeness you once had. Losing them would be a tragic event, but even more tragic is deciding what to do with all of the things they have left behind. Finding a man while completing this task was the last thing on Charlotte's mind, but Theo was a good friend and companion to her father, so they couldn't help coming together.
Theo is not looking for a relationship either, but when he meets Charlotte Winters, things are very different. Not only is she the daughter of his friend who is now gone, but there is something about her that he just can't seem to resist.
These two were brought together for a reason. Love is the reason.
I highly recommend this short love story to all my romance lovers!!

Sterling Keyes has exhibited an amazing blend of all relatable characters, depth in relationships and the ability to hear the true inner voice silently in her book – The Beach House 1

About: The title is just perfect. It’s because of the house that Charlotte’s life is going to flip completely. The characters and their descriptions are all relatable. Some relate love to euphoria but I feel love needs trust in the first place, then it needs to be feel safe in the presence of one another, then most importantly, love creates an impact in the life- for good by feeling connected. It changes a person completely, gives them the space needed to think and act and moulds them into a better person in thoughts and helps them achieve the goals in life.
I recollect a beautiful story written by an upcoming author– Sharakkah, the warrior and Roki. This story had highlighted and blended fantastically how the bond of affection can create an impact in both of their lives.
The Beach House 1 description of Charlottes’ thoughts, Theos’ thoughts is awesome. Romance is very sensuously described without being overdone. The aspects of experiencing a bike riding in a Harley made me see it happening in real.
I loved the phrases/sentences – “faintly of gardenia. He felt connected with her. He kissed the top of her head. He gave her pleasure before he took his own. She was like a drug that he was aching for. We don’t have to put a label and we’ re together – exclusive to each other”.
The twists and the upheaval of emotions make The Beach House 1 an irresistible and enjoyable read and re-read.
I don't normally read romance at all, and the reason this is getting a 5 star rating is because it managed to hold my interest from start to finish. I enjoyed the story, characters, and setting. Would definitely recommend this to readers of romance!
I really liked this book. Sometimes I need an easy, short, romantic book, and this one was perfect!!! Charlotte and Theo are super cute, and I loved that the story took place at the beach. Theo is a gentleman who knows the sheets, and he also rides a motorcycle. Charlotte is newly single, not looking for love, until Theo walks in.
Some of my fav quotes. This scene made me laugh: “Do you mind if I smoke?” Eve asked as she pulled into a parking spot at the beach public access point. “Not at all,” Charlotte replied, watching as Eve pulled a clear sticker off her upper arm and tossed it out the window. “I picked the wrong damn day to quit smoking,” Eve mumbled, digging a pack of cigarettes and a lighter out of her purse.
I couldn’t pull my eyes away from this scene: She felt like her body had been lit on fire from the inside out. His lips were on hers and she couldn’t even breathe. She’d been right. His kiss was devastating. It was just like flying straight into the sun. Could she survive something like this? Something so hot and dangerous?
If you’re looking for a sexy read, choose this one!!
This was a very light and easy read. I really enjoyed the characters and the building up of the romance. The setting seemed very inviting too. This book highlights the concept of falling hard for someone and all the feelings that come with that. I would recommend for anyone who is looking for a short novella that has a great romance (and some steamy scenes!) ;)
Hello Friends, Just wanted to let you know that I've added the Paperback version of the book to GoodReads. :) Stay tuned because I entered the Paperback into a Giveaway! Hope you enter for your chance to WIN!
The Good This is a fun, to the point novella. The author does a great job of setting the romantic scene early on and we know the two hotties are mad for each other.
The Bad I ummed and ahhed about the reluctance of going full on with Theo. But the author did well to remember that however difficult or whatever happened ---- ten years of marriage doesn't change you over night.
The Ugly Nothing. This is a fab, fun read for busy women.
I normally don't read contemporary romance, but I am a fan of romance in general. This novella has a great, strong plot with twists and turns. It has strong, believable characters, and a strong setting. Great drama and beautiful love story. My favorite character was Eve, and I was intrigued by her and (spolier) her boyfriend's story, which is told in the second book. Overall, a fun, fast read you will enjoy!
I really enjoyed this debut from Sterling Keyes. The Beach House tells the story of Charlotte returning to her father’s home, after she serves her husband divorce papers. Will she settle in Shimmer Pointe or will she sell the beach house? Enter Theo, the gorgeous Harley riding contractor that became friends with her father, while doing work on the house. He comes to offer to buy the house. Now, let the real story begin. This book will have you laughing in several spots, especially when Eve shows up, lol. Charlotte’s confidence took a real hit, when her hubby cheated. Is Theo in for the long haul or just a little fling. No spoilers, so grab your copy and take a trip to the beach.
Charlotte, a heartbroken divorcee, goes back to her childhood home after her father's death and meets her dad's friend who just happens to be the hottest dude in town. He tries to mend her but she may be too broken. Great writing and story line makes this a fun and easy going read. I loved the chemistry between Charlotte and Theo and can't stop thinking that maybe her dad had this planned all along.
The Beach House was written by Sterling Keyes and published on 27 December 2017.

I was provided a complementary copy of The Beach House to review. It in no way, shape, or form influenced my opinion/review of the book.
The first thing you’ll notice about The Beach House is that there is a mistake on the very first line of the very first page. So, if you are a person who likes to read the first few pages of a book in the store before you buy it, you’ll most likely be putting this one back on the shelf. It is a shame, of course. There are definitely good points in this short novella. Still, a mistake at literally the earliest possible point is off-putting.
With that being said, The Beach House is, naturally, a perfect beach read. It is short, sweet, and packed with moments that had me laughing out loud. With less than one hundred pages, Keyes manages to weave a strong storyline with enough drama and humour that you can easily finish the novella in one sitting.
While the humour and drama are integral to the success of The Beach House, the best part hands down is the chemistry between Charlotte and Theo. In so few pages, Keyes establishes a deep and meaningful connection between the two without it coming off as too forced. Of course, the short story makes everything a bit rushed, sort of like a feel-good Disney movie. Unrealistic, yet you find yourself rooting for the couple that met a week ago and have suddenly fallen in love. However, unlike Disney movies, the sexual tension between Charlotte and Theo is always hot and heavy.
As I mentioned before, there are mistakes sprinkled all throughout the novella, such as:
Charlotte Winters paid the driver, got out of the taxi, and took deep breath. (1)
He’d very swiftly put the ball in her quart. (23) (I actually laughed out loud at that sentence when I first read it.)
There are also a lot of misplaced commas that break up the flow of paragraphs.
Overall, The Beach House is a cute little novella that will sit nicely in your carry-on or purse, perfect for those moments when you need to kill a few minutes.
A short tale of a quick romance post marriage breakup – 3.5 stars
Charlotte’s marriage was on the outs when she found out her husband was having an affair, and he left her. She returned to her childhood home, The Beach House, which was now hers as her father died a year ago. She has to decide, will she move back east and live in her family home or will she sell and move back to Seattle, even though she will no longer be married. Then there is a knock on the door.
‘The Beach House’ is a feel-good story for the reader to leave scepticism at the door and enjoy. The supporting characters are fun too. Within five days our broken-hearted heroine runs the gamut of emotions, grief (over her father and her marriage), instant attraction, insecurity over her appeal, and love. Scepticism must also be checked for the sex scene, while I’m not saying what happens isn’t possible, I find it highly unlikely.
There are a few editing mistakes, and after the initial switches of POV per chapter, that does not continue as POVs do get mixed. Not saying that’s necessarily a problem, but it’s inconsistent.
Those looking for a quick, sweet and passionate romance read, could do a lot worse than read ‘The Beach House’.
