The Erotic Adventures of Jane in the Jungle #2

Entangled: An Unexpected Menage

Rate this book

The erotic adventures of Miss Jane Clemons in the jungle of Madagascar continue in this second installment, inspired by an erotic Tarzan and Jane scenario. Fraught with an edgy, dark, titillating story, the on-going adventures of Jane's playmates and the very sexy Tarzan inspired character, Zaren, follow our heroine through an unexpected reunion...along with a dangerous menage a trois. Though Jane finds her pleasure in many places, her heart will always belong to Zaren...or will it? If you thought E.L. James's Fifty Shades of Grey was tame...if you are a fan of The Story of O or Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty series, this is the type of story for you. Readers of Bertrice Small's Skye O'Malley series will also enjoy the edgy, BDSM-like erotic scenarios.

Praise for the erotic novels of Colette Gale:

"Erotically wicked! Spellbinding!" – Bertrice Small "Dark, extravagant eroticism..." – RITA winner and Bestselling Author Pam Rosenthal "Inventive and steamy!"...

Read this in the boxed set Entwined, Entangled & Enthralled While I have enjoyed the overall saucy story of Jane's explorative adventures, I was very disappointed in much of the plot twists the author took her through in this episode.
Apparently the "unexpected menage" = air-born drugs,Seduction set-up by her long lost, trusted fiancé, with dubious consent for the lucky, sleazy "third" (or did I mean "turd"). Not cool.
Hopefully Zaren will find his Jane!

Second of the Tarzan/Jane erotica series by Colette Gale. No where NEAR as good as the first one. I don't like when erotica crosses into RAPE. Nonconsensual sex is rape, even if physically she "enjoyed" it. Drugging Jane with some form of jungle opiate and forcing her to perform sex acts is RAPE. There's no excuse for that!

I did like Zaren's plot development; it was the only saving grace to the book.

Anal date rape, my favourite. Not. Maybe you should stick with the uncivilised jungle man, Jane, if your civilised fiancé thinks it's acceptable to get you high so he and his "friend" can take turns.

But "don't mortify her. Jane is a proper lady." Riiiight. For a proper victorian lady, she sure seems to be good at hand jobs.

FINAL DECISION: Definitely erotica with lots of sex and little character development. The best developed storyline is Jane's developing relationship with the wild man. These books are entertaining but are not intended to be realistic.

THE STORY: Jane's fiance has returned from the dead with some secrets. Jane also again meets the wild man living in the jungle.

OPINION: These stories are not for everyone. There is lots of sexual escapades -- including non-consensual ones -- but all are ones that Jane finds pleasure in. I know that this will be offensive to some people, but that is the way the story develops. If such things bother you, I really suggest passing on this story. Jane begins her journey of abandoning her Victorian morals in full here as she has sexual experiences with three different men including a menage.

There is an interesting contrast between Jane's sexual adventures and her developing romantic relationship with the wild man. Once again, this story is pure sexual entertainment and fantasy.

WORTH MENTIONING: This series is serialized meaning that the stories are not complete in one book. Each book ends on a cliffhanger.

CONNECTED BOOKS: ENTANGLED is the second book in the Erotic Adventures of Jane in the Jungle series. These books should be read in order.

STAR RATING: I give this book 4 stars. This review was originally posted on Top10RomanceBooks.com

I remember being slightly disappointed by the first installment in this series but picked up the second part on a whim. And... no. While I'm ready to overlook some of the problematic stuff that comes with a Tarzan retelling the non-consensual sex is a huge issue for me. I can handle dubcon in places but this was "Oh hey, that creepy guy I ran away from before put his dick where it was not welcome after asking permission from my fiance but not from me."

To top it off Jane and said fiance get kidnapped, leaving us with this cliffhanger:

"You must submit to them, to whatever they want. you must allow them to do as they wish, to pleasure you as they will. If you don't... they'll kill us."

Give me all the power exchange in the world but noncon on top of noncon? No thank you. I'm out.

SO... DNF.

First of all, most of this (at least up until 53% where I stopped) is rape--drugged rape, which the author seems to be implying can turn into not really rape, if under the affects of said drugs (which were not taken willingly) a woman can find herself enjoying the act. Yeah. Because everyone knows that the way we feel on drugs is totally the same way we would sober. Not that it's believable that drugs would make a sane woman okay with what happens to Jane.

So, yeah, if rape fantasy is your thing. You'll like this. Not my thing though.

2 Stars because the author is not a bad writer in the general sense--she can describe things well.

Jane's fiancee turns up and involves Jane with his best friend. Zarhan rescues Jane and things progress. The thing I find most amusing is that Jane regards herself as a "proper Victorian lady" who apparently just coincidentally has sex every twelve hours. And now the natives want to get involved.

I wanted to enjoy this more, but rape automatically gets you to the bottom. There are so many other places the author could have gone with this story and erotica, it wasn't necessary.

I really struggled to get through this novella especially after Jane's supposed awareness in the first book. Unfortunately, her so-called awareness was a ruse to deflect from the fact that she is horribly naive and childishly stupid in this novella. If your so-called presumably-missing fiancee walks into your camp after years of causing emotional turmoil, I highly doubt if any woman would give the man a blow job once they are alone. This act was then followed by the non-consensual rape sequence that occurs after her fiance drugs her. Yet knowing all of this, Jane still trusts this man to go with him again to the same hot springs only to get captured by a band of jungle natives and taken hostage. The worse part was the sex scene where her fiance tries to comfort her but does not want her to make a sound because the natives would be upset. What?

The only redeeming part in this story was when Zaren rescues Jane from the leopard and takes her back to his treehouse. Frankly, I could have done without the sex between them because it is unclear to me whether or not Jane was still under the influence of the drug.

I can only hope that Jane grows an actual backbone and takes charge of what's happening to her. She is heavily reliant on her fiance explaining everything to her or leading her into dangerous situations. Fingers crossed for the next chapter in the saga.

2024 PopSugar Challenge #13: A book originally published under a pen name

The reasons why I love Gale’s books so much? The elegant eroticism and the lovely idea of writing stories inspired by classics (no offence intended)!

Being an addicted to medieval romance - and all things Robin Hood - I simply adored “Bound by Honor”, but I loved all the other stories too! I cannot wait to read the next installment of Jane Clemons’ mishappenings. I would have more classics revisited by the witty, saucy pen of this excellent writer!

This is the second book in the series, and while it is still somewhat interesting, it drags quite a bit for me. Jane's fiance plays a major part in this book and I have major objections to a lot of what happens in it as well. It just wasn't up to the caliber of the first book, in my opinion.

Not enough of Zaren, and his back story became muddled. Also, once again, too short; so far the books could have been combined.

Series of exotic adventures of Jane of the Jungle

Too much of the same thing over and over. I love perversion, but there could more story and longer chapters.
