About the author

Nisa Santiago came bursting onto the literary scene in 2009 with her debut title, Cartier Cartel. The book garnered rave reviews and left her readers wanting more. She followed up with the sequel, Return of the Cartier Cartel – which turned into a national bestseller. The Library Journal declared that Santiago’s sequel, [Return of the Cartier Cartel] “Will keep readers hooked to the last chapter.”


Born and raised in Brooklyn, and now living in Harlem, the author is moving at full speed with her writing endeavors. Coined the Duchess of Hop-Hip lit, Santiago humbly admits, “I’m just grateful to be doing what I love as a career and not just a hobby.”

Nisa Santiago did it again. I love her books and her style of writing. The way Layla did her so called Best Friend Maxine. O the deceit....I see why Max came hard the way she did. I don't agree with the way Maxine (Max) went about getting back at her once best friend Layla but hey this is a fiction read. You have to read this book to feel where I'm coming from. Read it today and reply to let me know what you think about this action packed urban fiction read.

Omg this book was so damn good I couldn’t put it down. I read this book in one day. This book was crazy from jump. I felt so sorry for Maxine having to go through all because of Bitch ass Layla. Then to lose your love to the trap that got you in the situation you are in now. They say pay back is a bitch and Maxine is letting those who hurt her feel the pain and baby she doing her thang. Now to read part 2. Please don’t sleep on this book it is amazing.

One of my favorite authors has done it again ... Maxine was once a meek individual dating her first boyfriend, Scott, who happens to be a unfaithful drug dealer. Maxine gets 25 - life for the murder of one of Scott's chicks, that happened to be pregnant with his child; however, she didn't do the actual crime of beating the pregnant chick ... It was her bestie, Layla! Scott reminds Maxine that she will have to take a lost and not snitch on Layla! While Maxine is doing time, her bestie married her man and have several children by him and his drug dealings has officially become an organization full of the wealth that Scott always dreamed of. Maxine did the only thing she could think of ... get revenge! To know how, you are going to have to read the book for yourself; as for me, I am getting ready to read Part 2!
I definitely recommend this book and all others from this author! Nisa Santiago is no joke ... I love her writing! I could be a little partial, I'm also from Brooklyn, New York (lol)!

Interesting story Maxine took the wrap for Layla who is supposed to be her friend. Layla made like she did it for Max as a friend but it turns out that she was screwing Scott 2 and she killed the pregnant girl and dropped the bag @ Max's feet. Scott got her a good lawyer but his reputation and being there did not help Max. I felt sorry for Max but she comes home a new woman and Kayla is not ready for her.

I FRIGGIN' LOVED THIS BOOK & FELT THAT IT'S WORTHY OF BEING EXPANDED INTO A FILM, BEI IT ON THE SMALL SCREEN OR BIG SCREEN, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER AS AVISUAL ADAPTATION WITH REAL ACTORS BRINGING THE CHARACTERS ALIVE!

What Layla and Scott did to Maxine and Sandy was so wrong. Karma always come back their karma is Maxine she getting her revenge though their kids. Scott is going to be shocked when he find out that Maxine is behind everything and that Whistler is sleeping with his daughter

I love Nisa Santiago but I took off two starts for the gratuitous violence. I think I will stick with her twins and boosters series. This one could be a movie but I can't take the violence right now.

Wow, I definitely didn't see Lucky living through her attack. I believe Scott and Layla set Max up back in 1994, it was just to easy, Scott got rid of 3 birds with one stone. Can't wait to start part 2!!!
