SEAL Brotherhood #18

SEAL My Love: A SEAL Brotherhood Novel

Rate this book
Navy SEAL Trace Bennett has recovered from injuries he sustained while rescuing Gretchen’s daughter, Clover, from kidnappers. The man who “wouldn’t let go” finds himself now tied to the single mom of three girls, by strings of duty, honor and, to be perfectly honest, lust. He’s killed bad guys all over the world, and rescued his share of innocents, but he isn’t sure that properly qualifies him for fatherhood.

Gretchen has opened her heart one more time to a man she did not expect to fall for. But she’s determined this will be the last time. She’s dusted off her mating skills and tried to melt the ice she feels in her veins towards men in general. Formerly married to a famous NBA star who cheated on her publically, she’s only got room in her life for one more chance at love. Her primary mission is to raise her three daughters and whatever else she gets for herself comes second. Dating a man who has failed at marriage isn’t a great start to her new quest, but she holds her nose and jumps in feet first.

Their rocky road to redemption will bring them more pain than they ever imagined, and more happiness than either of them feel they deserve.

Previous short version of this story was released in a multi-author anthology called Tropical Tryst. The portions reused have been substantially re-edited and added to to reflect my story and character changes.

SEAL My Love is a FANTASTIC read. I loved the story line and fell in love with Trace and Gretchen, I adored her three little girls! As one would expect from a Sharon Hamilton book, there is no end of mystery and hold your breath moments, as well as some steamy scenes. This is up there with my favourite reads and one I will read again!.

Well Sharon you did it again. What can I say about an awesome seal team 3. I would want Kyle and his and his team to come to my rescue. What I really like is how they always work together as a team. They work as a great bunch of guys. I love this team. Can't wait until the next one. Cindy

Tropical romance with insta lust (sexy times under the stars) screeches to a halt when Gretchen's daughter, Clover is kidnapped. SEAL Team 3's newest member, Trace Bennet doesn't hesitate to cut his vacation short to rescue the teen.

The characters are intriguing, while the team and family dynamics are interesting and at times heartwarming. Gretchen's ex is an idiot that makes you want to smack him upside the head or shake him. Other times you just shake your head and wonder, WTF?

Overall this is a short read, so not too deep and a bit disjointed at times. But leaves you with a feeling of happiness and triumph.

This is book nine of the SEAL Brotherhood series and the main characters are Navy SEAL Trace Bennett, who has asked to switch to Team 3 working from San Diego after a particularly nasty divorce, and single mother Gretchen Sanders, formerly married to Tony Sanders, a famous NBA star who cheated and was abusive. She refused to accept money form him for her and has been bringing up her three daughter, Clover, Rebecca and Angie, all alone. Her sister Kate is married to Tyler a Navy SEAL on Team 3 and invited her to the team holiday before they are sent off for their next deployment, to help look after their toddler, but also to meet Tyler’s sister and romance writer, Linda Grey. While she is away for the week, her ex-husband Tony and his new girlfriend Joanie, a blonde bombshell half his age, are going to look after the three girls! Gretchen is looking forward to some time away, but also worried how her daughter will get on with their dad and his girlfriend. Trace has to fit in with his new team as soon as he can, but he is a lot older than most on the team, having already done some thirteen years in the SEALs. He is told about the team holiday and agrees to go and this is where he meets Linda and Gretchen. Linda may have been the forward one, but it was Gretchen who caught his eye and the feeling was mutual!

When Gretchen’s daughter Clover is kidnapped, when Joanie was supposed to be looking after her, the SEAL team come to her assistance, locating Clover and saving her. Three of them are injured, with Trace being the worst off ending up in hospital and unconscious, having found Clover and not letting her go once he did! Gretchen didn’t expect what happened and matters only get worse when her ex tells their daughters that he is getting married to Joanie and then applies for custody of the girls! A relationship with a mother of three girls wasn’t what Trace thought he would be doing, but he doesn’t want to lose Gretchen and since the kidnapping, it seems at least Clover is getting on with him. Gretchen is soon left on her own, as Trace and Team 3 have to go off on their latest deployment, to deal with legal issues and then more. They live in different states, far apart, and Trace has to figure out what he wants for his future and if that is with Team 3 and the SEALs, then he needs to be in San Diego. Asking Gretchen to uproot herself and her daughters might be a bit too much, especially so early in their relationship. Each has a lot to face and Gretchen ends up testing him when he returns early from his mission, to see if he is really serious or just out for a fling. I loved how Trace would do anything for Gretchen and her daughters, unlike their own father, with a few smart comments from a wise head on youngest Angie. Trace applies all his training and loyalty he learnt in the SEALs to his relationship and those he has come to love, putting them first and making the extra effort to get integrated with his team and new family. Just watch out for women and their handbags if you come between them and their kids, just saying! Shame no addition at the end like in other stories, as this is last in series for now. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Starting over is hard but worth the risks when love is involved.

Pain, distance and starting a new relationship from a vacation fling that was over too soon because a crisis needed to be dealt with is extremely taxing. Do you take a chance and fight for that new love again after being burned badly by past relationships. This is Trace and Gretchen’s story to tell.

First impressions aren’t always correct. I so thought,,, oh no… Trace is a player on vacation, I’m not really liking him much for Kyle’s team. Oh no, no no… that man just wants the right women to invest in and love him with all he and she’s got. Gretchen, already hurt and shattered from her over excessive and indulgent ex-husband… wants to raise her daughters to the best of her ability. Love isn’t on her radar until a certain SEAL crosses her path. sparks fly and attraction burns hot! Her children are precocious, fun and what comes out of their mouths will have you laughing out loud, especially Angela, her 4 year old… OMG - you will crack up. Out of the mouths of babies - be prepared to answer those tough questions that only a 4 yr old can deliver with a straight face!!

Sharon Hamilton has written a beautiful and thoroughly intriquing book that deals with real life issues. takes you on their journey to show. Beautiful, angst filled, drama and suspense and dealing with the ramifications of distance and loving a Navy SEAL.

Incredibly strong, caring characters, with such depths of inner fortitude, that never give up attitude, even when life throws curve balls and gets tough. It’s always good to catch up with familiar team members and know they are there for each other no matter what - they are family and will do whatever it takes to protect those they love.

Tensions are high, suspense leaves you holding your breath, waiting. No matter what - you have to trust your training, trust your innate instincts, focus, prepare, and attention to detail, to save those your love!

Sharon Hamilton is an all time favourite author in Military/Romantic Suspense genre. If you love page-turning, heart pounding, breath taking words, along with dramatic tension and romance - Sharon, constantly delivers this and so much more for her readers. What are you waiting for?

SEAL My Love: A SEAL Brotherhood Novel is a suspenseful, yet heartwarming, depiction of a man and a woman who are presented with an opportunity at a second chance at love. Through simultaneously expressing their integrity and vulnerability, Sharon Hamilton establishes the relatable characters of Trace, a strong Navy SEAL (who also happens to be a sweet-tempered gentleman), and Gretchen, a proud and fiercely independent single mother of three daughters. The two must discover inside themselves the courage needed to trust their hearts and depend on one another as they face multiple hardships, including battered wife syndrome, kidnapping, a custody battle and military deployment, to name only a few.

Family comes first, a common reoccurring theme in a majority of Sharon Hamilton’s books, is another engaging storyline incorporated throughout SEAL My Love. Trace and Gretchen, as well as readers of their story, will be reminded of how important it is to be able to rely on family, whether that means family at home or family at work (in this case the family of SEAL Team 3). Once you finish SEAL My Love, you will be anticipating Trace and Gretchen’s appearance in future Team 3 novels; other favorite members of the team from previous novels play significant roles in this story!

In this book Sharon Hamilton brings you the story of the trees and Gretchen. You will recognize characters from the series and there are great “cameos” from them throughout the book.

Trace is the new guy on the team, and he is still trying to find his place amongst team members that have been together for a long time. He gets the chance to bond when the team plans a vacation to Hawaii. What he doesn’t expect to find during this vacation is Gretchen. Gretchen’s sister is married to a teammate, but Trace is drawn to her almost immediately. Their time is interrupted, though, and what follows is a well-crafted-true-to-life story that includes a kidnapping, a crazy ex, emotional baggage, and the cutest kiddos who definitely ask the hard questions!

I really enjoyed this story! As an attorney I find it hard to read stories that involve the court system because of accuracy, but Hamilton's story was unfortunately an accurate depiction of custody battles.

My only criticism of this book would be the description. It almost jumps last the beginning and outs you in the middle of the book, which is extremely confusing when you begin reading and no one has been kidnapped yet. Otherwise a great romantic suspense novella and great addition to the series. I would recommend the series but you’d be fine if this was the first Hamilton book that you have ever read. I didn't read the novella "Seal of my Love" and I am honestly glad that I didn't because I would have felt cheated. This full length version gave so much more than a novella could and Trace and Gretchen deserve a longer story.

Both have been through crappy marriages and both have been left with feelings of uncertainty and trust issues. They both are afraid to want for more and if they do, can they give each other what they need?

Trace has just joined SEAL team 3 and he is asked if he want to join his SEAL brothers on a vacation to Hawaii. Gretchen, Kate's older sister and Tyler's sister in law, is joining them as well for a well deserved vacation.

There are sparks between the two from the get go. But then reality sets in and things turn ugly. There is a kidnapping, and ex-husband who goes bonkers, and these two have their own baggage to deal with, not to mention her three girls who deserve someone who will love them and treat them with love and respect.

I enjoyed little Angie the most, she is a cutie and scene stealer. These characters are true to life as are the problems that they face when considering whether or not they will become a couple. It was also fun to catch up with some of the old familiar faces from SEAL team 3. It was everything I have come to expect from Ms. Hamilton and her SEAL brotherhood series.

I received an ARC of this book in return for my open and honest review. This is book #9 in the SEAL Brotherhood series and is the story of Trace and Gretchen and their rocky road to happily ever after. Both Gretchen and Trace are battle-scarred from their first marriages. They meet on a Hawaiian island vacation that Trace's new SEAL team has put together for them and their families. This is Gretchen's first solo holiday without her girls, who have gone to stay with their dad and his new fiancé. Sparks fly fast and furious from the first encounter between the two until the end. The question though, is will the sparks be enough for Trace and Gretchen to risk their hearts on love again. Trace and the team show their stuff when one of Gretchen's daughters is kidnapped and held for ransom and they go in to rescue her. Trace is injured in the encounter and after being released from the hospital, he recuperates at Gretchen's home. He gets a fun taste of living with a teenager, a precocious four-year-old, and their quiet, but ever aware middle sister. This book is full of romance, laughs and edge-of-your-sit action.
This is the first book I have read in the SEAL Brotherhood series and it has made me want to go back and read the first 8 books. I love Ms. Hamilton's military books and look forward to reading many more of them.

This is the BEST!

The novella of SEAL MY LOVE was fantastic but the full novel is so much more!

Trace is a hot, sexy, SEAL trying to fit into his new gig at SEAL Team 3. He meets Gretchen, Kate’s older sister, on a Team vacation in beautiful Hawaii and sparks fly! Love on the beach is more than just a funny drink!

These two only have eyes for each other and maybe thoughts for a possible future together. When danger threatens Gretchen’s little family, Trace and his SEAL Team buddies are right there for her.

This story moves on to Gretchen fighting her ex for child custody and Trace, once again, being right by her side to weather this storm. This guy is totally what heroes are made of.

I love how this story progresses into some serious family drama that Trace takes in stride knowing that the outcome will be so much worth the journey. He has a true heart and is not afraid to express his feelings and his intentions. Gretchen sees the honor and integrity this man is made of and knows he is her forever.

You need to read this and all of the SEAL Team 3 stories. Sharon Hamilton keeps these stories of SEAL Team 3 on fire. We need more! This is another HOT one!

I read the novella of Trace and Gretchen's story, so I was really excited to read the novel. It also left me wanting more, in a good way.

Trace and Gretchen had an instant attraction, but it was written so well that it didn't feel like instalove. You could tell their relationship was not superficial. There was so much action and turmoil going on that you had to wonder if they could handle life settling down.

One thing I noticed with this couple is they didn't waste time wondering if they should be together, or feeling like they weren't good enough for each other. When push came to shove, Trace and Gretchen had each others backs.

In this book you get to revisit some of the other characters from SEAL Team 3. They also experience a bit of action.

One of the best scenes in the book occurs by the Coffeeshop. You don't want to miss that. The only thing I would have loved is an epilogue. You get so caught up in their story, you really want to know what happens with them further down the road.

I would definitely recommend this book.

If you haven't discovered this author, this is a perfect book to get started on her wonderful library of books. In this story, older SEAL, Trace Bennet has just transferred to SEAL Team 3 after a messy divorce where his wife cheated on him with a member of another team. As he is trying to integrate himself as member of his new team, he is asked to accompany some of the team and their wives on a beautiful Hawaiian vacation. He meets Gretchen who is the older sister of the wife of a fellow team member. The chemistry is instantaneous but each of them have baggage from failed marriages they don't want to infringe on this "new" chance at a joint HEA. As with almost every SEAL vacation, some sort of crisis pops up where their skills are discretely needed to save the day. When Gretchen's daughter is kidnapped, Trace doesn't hesitate to lay his life on the line for his new woman. There is action, love, sex, duty and devotion that made me addicted from the first few pages.

In SEAL My Love we get the story of Trace and Gretchen with both having scars from their first marriages. They meet on a Hawaiian island vacation that Trace's new SEAL team has put together for them and their families. This is Gretchen's first holiday without her girls.
Sparks fly fast and furious from the first encounter between Trace and Gretchen but are the sparks enough for them to risk their hearts again on love. One of Gretchen’s daughter’s is kidnapped and Trace’s SEAL team goes in to rescue her. Trace is injured in the encounter and after being released from the hospital, Gretchen offers him a place to recuperate, her home. Here, Trace gets a taste of living with not only Gretchen but her three daughters.
I enjoy not only reading but listening to Sharon Hamilton’s SEAL stories! She does an incredible job with her storylines and I love that she focuses on military books! Military will always have my heart. Keep up the wonderful stories Sharon Hamilton!!!.

Another amazing story of the members of SEAL Team 3! This one introduces Trace Bennett, an older SEAL, who recently joined the team. The team is heading for vacation in Hawaii where Trace is introduced to his team mate’s sister-in-law, Gretchen. Both Trace and Gretchen are divorced and not looking to begin anything serious. Of course, their chemistry is off the charts and what starts out as casual quickly grows to be something so much more!

I really enjoyed this story. It is an easy, engaging read with good, relatable characters. It is well-written with solid characterizations and has a smooth flow. Sharon Hamilton weaves an intriguing tale with strong characters and just the right mix of drama and hot romance.

I love the SEAL Brotherhood series! Each book is unique to its characters’ story and can be read as a standalone. Yet they each tie together seamlessly linking the lives of the members of SEAL Team 3.

I highly recommend this book and series!

A New Start . . .

Gretchen is a divorced mom with 3 daughters. Her ex-husband was an NBA star who had openly cheated on her and she is just about to give up on love. He, of course, continues to cause her problems. Navy SEAL Trace Bennett had rescued one of her daughters from kidnappers. This is the last time Gretchen is willing to open up her heart and try a relationship. When her ex interferes with her Hawaii trip, Trace stays by her side through all the difficulties, offering his support. Can they commit to each other, despite roadblocks put in their path? Are they ready to claim their HEA despite her ex’s interference? You will find that the audiobook version can definitely enhance your “reading” experience through the skillful narrator, JD Hart. He does a great job with the voices to personalize the story and make it easy for the listener to get an accurate impression of what each character is like. It helps to set the mood, familiarize the characters, and offers a pleasant way to “read” and enjoy the book.

Seal My Love , by Sharon Hamilton, is classic Ms Hamilton’s style. We have the hunky Seals, strong women, bad guys and a problem to solve or someone to rescue. You will also have a chance to visit with characters from her previous books.
In this one our main characters are Trace and Gretchen. Trace is new to Kyle’s team. He is older than the rest, but already has been proven to be part of them. Gretchen is a single Mom of three girls, who has gotten the chance to go to Hawaii with the Seals and their significant others. There she meets Trace and the fun, and suspense begins.
But things get complicated when her ex causes trouble for everyone. Her ex , Tony, is vicious, vindictive and abusive.
Will Gretchen and the girls be safe , will Trent be able to help? Will Trent and Gretchen finally get their HEA?
Another entertaining story by this talented author.

Trace is the newest member of SEAL Team 3 and he decides to join the team on vacation in Hawaii which is where he meets Gretchen, one of his teammates sister in-law.

Gretchen is a single mother to her three children since she divorced her abusive ex. She is convinced by her sister that she needs a break and ends up going to Hawaii with her while her children are with their father.

From the moment that Trace and Gretchen meet fireworks erupt and they agree to enjoy their week together as with both their histories with marriage she doesn’t believe it could be more. When Trace shows her his loyalty and protectiveness not only by rescuing her daughter when she is kidnapped but also protecting her from her past will she be willing to take another chance on love or will she allow her past to hold her back?

I really enjoyed this book and it is a great addition to the series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I loved this book! Trace is everything you could want in a hero. Besides being a SEAL who serves his country with honour, Trace is not scared by Gretchen’s devotion to her children. The fact that she has three children by a wealthy professional athlete who is determined to make her life hard doesn’t deter his determination to make their relationship work. He has never been around kids much, but he wants to get to know Gretchen’s kids and he has already proven that he will protect them with everything he has got after he helped rescue her teenager daughter. He sees Gretchen for the wonderful mom she is and for the compassionate, strong and fierce woman who is willing to give love another chance after a messy divorce. His teammates and their significant others help make this story more interesting and compelling.

Trace is a long term navy seal and Gretchen is divorced with three daughters. They meet at a week retreat for the seal team and their friends . The connection continues to grow but they decide that they will only have that week and then go back to their lives. Gretchen daughters are in the care of their father and while Gretchen is out of town her oldest daughter gets kidnapped. Trace and his team decide they will try to get her daughter back.
Of course you would like their lives would only get better after the kidnapping but then they get hit with another excruciating challenge.
I loved how Trace was there for whatever Gretchen needed. He was very protective, supportive and helped organize anything that needed to be done.

Sharon Hamilton writes entertaining books about Navy SEALs. Seal My Love, book 9 in the Seal Brotherhood books, is Trace Bennett's story. Trace is the newest member of SEAL Team 3 in CA. So when a group of Team 3 and their significant others/babies plan a relaxing trip to Kauai, Trace decides to join them. At the Lihue airport, Trace meets his friend Tyler's sister-in-law--Gretchen. They are attracted to each other, but only have six days before Gretchen will have to go back to Portland and her three daughters. Trace and Gretchen are both divorced and unfortunately live in different states. I enjoyed watching them try to figure "things out". The only thing that I didn't like is that when the book ended, I still had some unanswered questions. I look forward to reading other books by this author.

Trace is reassigned to Kyle’s Seal team. The Seal team is planning a vacation to Hawaii and invited Trace along. There will be spouses and some single women on the trip, which is where he meets Gretchen. Gretchen is a single mother whose children come first. Both had been married before, which obviously did not work out, and are hesitant to jump into a relationship. They are attracted to each other, with a slow low simmer, things build. Crazy ex-husband, kidnapping, precocious 4 year old, and a lot of other life obstacles are thrown in their path. In the end, they have their HEA. This was another great novel. The story is well written and interesting. The characters are relatable, with their own quirks and personalities. The narration was well done. This is book 9 in the SEAL Brotherhood series and it features Navy SEAL, Trace Bennett and sister to a SEAL wife, Gretchen Sanders. The chemistry was there from the moment they laid eyes on each other. The sex was sizzling, graceful and poetic. It was almost as if these two have been doing this erotic dance together forever. Trace and Gretchen’s friendship/relationship just always seems to fall into place like puzzle pieces. There were many things going on but the thrill of their new romance was always at the forefront of my mind.

A lot happened in this book and I thoroughly enjoyed how each event had its own closure. I look forward to reading more about this couple and others from this amazing author.

Looking for a Navy SEAL romance? 💞⚓️💞

I really loved this story! 💞

Trace is an older (for the Navy) SEAL, who is divorced and looking for a place to fit in. His new SEAL group is heading out for vacation, with friends and family, to Hawaii and he decides to go along to get to know everyone. That's where he meets Gretchen. This is the first time Gretchen has been away from her daughters since her divorce and is just looking for some rest and relaxation.

This story is very well-written and full of suspense, passion, and angst. It's a great romance dealing with slightly older than the normal characters which is refreshing. 💖

What a great second chance story. Trace and Grethen, both have had bad marriages and both are jaded. Trace is older than the other team members of Seal Team 3 where he has just transferred to, his nickname is "Gramps". Let me tell you, he is no gramps! He is HOT! The group vacation is cut short as one of Gretchen's daughters is kidnapped, some of the team members go back to rescue her with Trace. Throw in some suspense, hot sex, tension, witty dialogue, and a four year old's questions and you have a great entertaining read. I've read Ms. Hamilton before and it was a great pleasure to see some of the Seal Team 3 members in this story. I highly recommend this book.

What starts as a fun getaway for some of the team and family takes a worrying and suspenseful turn for some. Trace and Gretchen instant chemistry and sparks, a connection builds very quickly and he doesnt hesitate to step up when she needs help. This story has some fun moments, some very tense ones and some disturbing ones. There is some abuse though no rape. I loved how Trace makes the effort with the girls, how when he rescues Clover he just holds on tight not letting her go no matter how hard she fought or how injured he was. He showed he was worthy and passed all the tests. A wonderful read, I found it gripping and exciting with powerful emotions and scenes. Fairly fast flow and well written. I love the characters and have been following this series for a long time.

Trace had transferred to Team 3 in San Diego from Boston after his divorce. It was crazy that at 34 he was considered and “old man.” I was glad to see that he went with the guys and some wife’s for a vacation in Hawaii before they had to go on a mission. That was where he met Gretchen. She was sister to one of the Seal’s wife on the team. It is hard going through a divorce, but it is even harder when Gretchen’s ex husband was a star basketball player. They had three girls, but Gretchen’s ex didn’t have much to do with them. Something bad happened when they were in Hawaii so Gretchen, Trace and a couple of the Seal guys flew back with Gretchen to help. Unfortunately this started a spiral of bad things to happen to Gretchen. You need to read the book to see what happens.

Trace has left his former Seal team and moved to Kyle's, he needed a change, his wife had been having an affair with one of the team. Gretchen divorced her ex after pictures of him appeared on TV and after the second time he hit her. He's a player for the Portland Trailblazers and has a lot of money.

Her three daughters are going to stay with their father and his new girlfriend while she's away on a week's holiday with the Team. Trace meets Gretchen at the airport on the way to Hawaii for the holiday, which is disrupted because her fourteen year old daughter is kidnapped.

Then things get worse for her. Can Trace help?

Revised/Extended Story
Previously published as a novella in the Tropical Trysts anthology which is no longer available.
Single mother Gretchen Sanders meets Navy Seal Trace Bennett whilst on holiday but all thoughts of romance fly out the window when her daughter is kidnapped. Trace and his buddies do what they do best and Clover is rescued, though Trace is injured during the process and after leaving hospital, recovers at Gretchen’s home with her daughters. They live in different cities, both have former failed marriages and in Gretchen’s case her ex is being volatile and unstable and both have responsibilities. Can they have a future together?
Would have liked an epilogue.

This is a brilliant read.
Trace has moved to a new Seal team after his divorce and goes on a holiday with most of the team and their families.
What he wasn't expecting was Gretchen.
Mum of three girls Gretchen is taking her first holiday since her very public divorce and is soon drawn to Trace.
Soon things come crashing down when one of Gretchen's daughters is kidnapped.
Trace and the team will do everything in their power to get her daughter back safe and sound.
I loved how Trace will do anything for Gretchen and her girls and always put them first but is that enough when they don't even live in the same city.
A must read with a perfect ending.

I received a free copy of this book via Sharon Hamilton's SEAL Romance Review Team and am voluntarily leaving a review.
