Welcome to Hollywood. A town that challenges true love in an industry where relationships survive off illusions. Melodee Delon and Amir Jones went from being just friends to passionate lovers. But will the change from lovers to committed spouses be as much of a success? Evolving from a nobody to a somebody overnight sent Melodee’s world spinning. Life changed for her the moment she accepted Amir’s marriage proposal in front of millions. Their whirlwind romance continues without a hitch, but not without its ups and tragic downs. Their love blooms as husband and wife, true. But an unexpected event strains the trust in their relationship and threatens their happy ending soon after they say, “I do.” Moving to a zip code where glitz and glamour is protocol and being strategically genuine is a priority does a great job at complicating things between them. This forces Melodee out of her element and makes her underestimate people’s true motives. With Amir by her side though, she’s willing to adjust and face her new reality in an industry where gossip mavens give rumors the same respect as facts. But what happens when the one thing that almost pulled them apart the first time, loyalty, tests their bond once again? Can their relationship and love for each other survive the turbulence of being married in Hollywood? Or will the hedonistic illusion of Hollyweird suck them in then spit them out with no love left to salvage? Catch up with a couple who will steal your heart and take you on an emotional roller coaster one last time in the sequel to Girl Code… Mr. & Mrs. Jones!
Brookelyn wrote her first short story when she was a sophomore in high school. Back then she discovered how using her experience as a teen living in Brooklyn to create romantic shorts was just as exciting to her as retail shopping and going on dates. After starting her first semester of college two years later, Brookelyn’s creative writing became more of a hobby and something to do to escape the stress of midterms and finals. Now in her 30s as a freelance writer, penning short stories and novellas is her everything. While her experience with writing has evolved for the better, her undying love for creating fiction remains unchanged. Brookelyn's focus is on creating contemporary women's fiction with characters based in urban settings. Her stories chronicles the emotional journeys and erotic experiences of women today through her characters and the scenarios they're thrown into.
The motivation behind her brand of writing has a lot to do with what she discovered storytelling provided for her - an escape. Her goal with her work is to create characters and urban worlds that offer a great escape for fiction readers looking for a break from the daily grind of adulting and who prefer to relax with good books and short stories. When she’s not freelancing, doing yoga, or showing her husband and toddler lots of love, she can be found sitting at her computer desk, with her legs folded, and a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine) at arm’s reach as she types or edits her latest short or novella.
This book was great so much realism and depth took my emotions to new heights as I read this book. I loved how the characters continued to evolve throughout this book and the love that Amir and Melodee shared was radiating off the pages.Even though they tugged on my heart strings especially dealing with death, loss, and grief I loved that they both continued to excel independently and got their happily ever after...Definitely more than a five star book
I abso freakin loutely LOVE Amir and Molodee aka, Mr and Mrs Jones. Amir and Melodee are #relationshipgoals until tragedy strikes and threatens to pull them apart. The ups and downs of this book kept me on edge and wanting to thro my kindle across the room. lol Brookelyn did a great job of driving the drama in this story. The writer in me applauds her, but the reader in me was so mad at her! This is a great follow-up to Girl Code and I hope she continues the story.
I've never heard of this author before but decided to give her a try so I started with book one Girl Code in which I thought this it was cute r read finished it and on too book 2 Mr. & Mrs Jones one word describes this book. FANTABULOUS!!!
This was a great follow up story. I loved this couple! I loved how Brookelyn showed the side of marriage outsiders rarely see and still let this couple be goals. Great read!!
I was first introduced to Amir and Melodee in first book of this series, Girl Code and I fell in love with their love then. Amir is a superstar R&B singer who has been in love with Melodee since they were kids smoking weed together in Mel’s tree house. Their bond was a little strained because Mel wasn’t interested in having a relationship with Amir, and pawned him off on her other best friend, Sheena. You can read more about their background in my review here.
This story picks up as the happy couple plans their very expensive and romantic wedding. Amir was already famous, but with Melodee becoming his love, they have become a power couple in the entertainment world. People love them and it is not hard to see why. That man loves this woman and she loves him right back.
It is refreshing to find a couple that I can identify with. Usually I identify more with one or the other. Don’t get me wrong, I am no famous celebrity, but that’s just it. Amir and Mel don’t see themselves in that light. They are just regular people who happen to have a ton of money and live a life of luxury in the public eye. They are both so down to earth and chill. I love the way they interact and show love for one another. Now, this book has a lot of hot steamy sex because the newlyweds are so enamored with each other. And I am so here for it! They really know how to burn the sheets up. YAAAAAS! That Amir has some stamina, baby!
Like all relationships, the honeymoon has to end; only theirs ends prematurely when a tragedy happens in camp Amir. It sends him in a tailspin and he pulls him away from Mel. Truth be told, I was extremely hurt and very upset with the author for what she did in this point of the book. She had me in tears and I was so mad that I yelled out. Imagine me, sitting on my couch reading on my Kindle late into the night. The house was quiet, except the light snores from the master bedroom where my husband lay sleeping. The cat was snuggled on the floor sleeping at my feet and then BAM! Out of nowhere tragedy strikes and I yell out “What the HELL!” Yeah, that was me. Thankfully I didn’t disturb my husband, but the cat gave me the side eye.
This tragedy should have been a way to grow their bond, but it is severely damaged because of a secret. Amir, in his grief, lashes out and starts acting out of character. I felt so bad for Mel and I wanted to just smack Amir until my hand hurt. It takes a drastic move on her part for him to see the light, but like the champ he is, Amir rises to the occasion.
The valleys and peaks in this book are beautifully written. Brookelyn is a gifted author and I look forward to reading more of her work. I pray there will be more of Amir and Melodee’s story. This book deserves all 5 of the stars that I am giving it, and more. You would be wise to pick this one up. If you haven’t read Girl Code, be sure to cop that one first. You won’t be sorry.
This book was so amazing. The good, the bad, the ugly and the unforgivable thing the author did to me. The book was such a page turner even when I wanted to give it a break to grasp certain events I couldn’t. Upon getting to chapter 7 and seeing the tiny disagreements and so on I just knew something bad was going to happen. I had that feeling and just couldn’t shake while I read. One of my favourite parts of the book was Amir giving Jason dust in that restaurant that sent me but I was so proud. And Sheena is obsessed clearly. Like mind your business girl their choices are theirs. And I feel like she was intentionally trying to be messing with that thing she told Mel about Chloe Rae. I feel like she was trying to sew seeds of doubt in Melodee’s mind. I loved Denise’s character but she was steady suggesting a character path for Melodee and that surely tickled me. It was the audacity for me. Brookelyn’s supporting characters are wild but I am here for it. Then there’s the saddest part of the book. Anthony’s death shook me. Like I literally cried. I’m mad about that cause I really wanted Anthony to have his own story but you shot my dreams down just like that. Omg this hits like when Lennox died. And yes I am taking it personal like I took Lennox personal. I feel like Melodee made a mistake keeping such a secret for Anthony given the fact that previously he was involved in that altercation where a gun was pulled on him however I understood why she did it as well and Amir’s reaction to it all was valid. Maybe things would’ve been different if he was told. Maybe he could have talked Anthony out of it. I also like how Brookelyn touched on gang and gun violence in Chicago. After the fact as much as I love Amir I can say he was being an asshole to Mel and she didn’t deserve that. His way of handling was self destructive but realistic as that is how most people in the real world handle pain. When I initially saw Panama I knew he was full of shit and I also knew nothing good could come from Melodee meeting up with him whew chile. Lowkey wanted to see Amir give him that work honestly 😂😂😂😂😂 and then Amir accused Melodee I was all but ready to throw my phone away but I figured he would do that but it was wrong of him. He shouldn’t have jumped to that conclusion. He was treating her unfairly and no amount of grief was an excuse for his behavior. It was absolutely disgusting. When she left I didn’t feel sorry for him cause in my eyes he deserved it. Her leaving before the anniversary was petty but I was here for it because Amir was being a complete ass. But that’s what marriage is about at the end of the day nothing is perfect so this was the perfect portrayal of a marriage. Melodee eavesdropping on the conversation with Amir and Deedra was funny helped to lighten the mood of the book after so many heavy moments I loved it. I like how he came running for her though and was about to say that he was wrong. Nothing is more sexy than a man taking accountability for his actions. And make up sex was chefs kiss. Miss Deedra’s reaction floored me. It was so cute 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I love her. Ecstatic that they worked out their issues and became stronger. The book had a beautiful ending and some bomb sex scenes. Brookelyn has an amazing writing style and write the most beautiful stories that flow so effortlessly.
Mr. & Mrs. Jones the sequel to the novella Girl Code. Mr. & Mrs. Jones begins with Amir and Melodee's wedding day approaching. Amir is the big time musician/actor and Melodee is still the regular girl trying to adapt to the glitz and glamour of being with a Hollywood superstar. Melodee can no longer go outside without the paparazzi following her and Amir's every move.
The book started off slow to me and I kept asking myself when is this story going to pick up. I didn't have to wait long because tragedy strikes and Amir and Melodee's marriage is put to the test. You see another side of Amir and you start to wonder if the marriage will be able to overcome the struggles of this tragedy. I found myself feeling bad for Melodee and the way she was being treated. Amir antics showed his vulnerable side and Melodee struggled trying to keep up the image of the good wife in the public eye.
I remember in my review for Girl Code I stated the story wasn't erotic to me but simply a love story. Well... Brookleyn definitely redeemed herself in Mr. & Mrs. Jones. There's definitely no shortage of sex in this story. The love between Amir and Melodee was undeniable and the two were made for each other. I've read a couple of Brookleyn Mosley's books and haven't been disappointed yet. If you were a fan of Girl Code then you should definitely read this story. Get your tissues out and be prepared to cry, laugh, and get upset.
I absolutely fell in love with AJ and Mel in Girl Code and was all for their marriage. As a married woman of almost twenty years I am well acquainted with the trials couples face. I knew they would hit a patch. What troubled me was how things occurred during that time. I understand the distancing and the silence but the party with strippers as a "familiar" place, I couldn't. Then I was more disappointed when he had angry sex with her...it didn't feel erotic...it was a trigger for me and felt like assault...rape...that troubled me especially with how much AJ said he loved her. I really wanted to believe in their love but I was not happy to see Mel put up with it all. I was proud of her when she finally left. It was hard to grasp that AJ suddenly found "Jesus" in one day after Mel left when he treated her like crap for months. Then when he saw her he tells her that he wasn't mad at her...WHAT? I wanted this story to be on my top favorites especially after Girl Code where AJ was my book bae but I wasn't as fast to forgive as everyone else.

I absolutely loved Amir and Melodee love story starting from the book “Girl Code” to “Mr & Mrs. Jones.” With this book I loved that the author showed their first year of marriage ups and downs and how they overcame tragedy. Honestly Amir publicist Denise helped them get through the rough moment in their marriage along with Melodee’s mother. This is my third read from Brookelyn and she has gained a forever reader. Maybe one day we’ll get an update on Amir and Melodee (just putting it out there...LOL).
This was such a great story. The author took me through all the emotions. Happiness at the wedding then incredible sadness with the Anthony situation. I was reading with tears in my eyes and I'm not an emotional person. Bravo to the author for swell written beautiful story. The connection between Melodee and An was wonderful, I'm glad they reconnected and got their happier ever after.
Oh how I love the Jones's!!! Ant kept a smile on my face with his wit. My heart broke at the tragedy they faced. I was glad when Mel went back to New York, but I wanted him to suffer for a little while. I was screaming no don't tell him, go hide. I love everything Mrs. Mosley writes. Keep them coming!
Melodee and Amir are such a blueprint of friends to lovers. It is refreshing to witness the growing pains without irreversible drama. This is a good read. Love sustains and improves, I believe this is the message Ms. Mosley wanted to inspire us the reader with. Great follow up to Girl Code!
OMG!!! I loved the characters in this book. This is a beautiful love story. It was so realistic. Amir and Melodee’s love jumped off the pages and into my heart. I could truly feel there love in the words on the page. Brookelyn Mosley has done it again I love this author.
I’m so happy that Mel and AJ allowed us into their first year of marriage. Anthony....wow, that was a hard pill to swallow. People often focus on the wedding and not the marriage, the real work begins after the I do’s...although it was touch and go I’m happy they worked everything out...and big ups to mama D for getting them together....click buy and be happy!
This story although fictional resonates with anyone who has been married, getting married, or trying to maintain a long term relationship. I cried, got angry, laughed, and most importantly got that heat a good love story gives you.
This was a very good read. I attached my self to all the characters. The love Amir and Melhad for each other was breathtaking. Hoping one day to find my Amir. Kudos to the author
Amir and Melodee are back again and this time they're married they are definitely relationship goals. They love each other and everyone knows it they go through some things but they never lose sight of the love they have for each other.
This is a great love story. The emotions put into this book had me going crazy! I’ve cried, laughed, gotten angry, all of the above. It was DEFINITELY erotic but I love the way love was the main root of the intimacy in the book! Loved It!
I loved this follow up book all the twist and turns of what happens in a marriage. The giggles by Mel got on my nerves though but that is my only complaint..lol... All in all loved this story and this author
I loved this book from beginning to end. I could feel my heart sink in the bad times. I loved the characters and their connection to one another! Awesome job!
After reading Girl Code and where it left off it was nice to see Melodee and Amir come together as husband and wife and them enjoying the honeymoon phase of married life. I was lowkey mad at Brookelyn with the wrench she through in the story to put them through their trials but after reading the afterword I got it, still didn't like it but I understood. Marriage isn't always easy and I can see how it was difficult for Melodee especially being thrown into the limelight when she wasn't the celebrity of the couple. I was happy that they were able to make it work for them and do what was best for both of them in the end. I was also happy to read more about her career and family life and where it was headed with Amir. Another good story by Brookelyn Mosley that I enjoyed reading.
