Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.

Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.

He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.

Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.

The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.

He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.

Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.

By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.

This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.

When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.

Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.

Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.

At about 100 pages a very quick novella read. Tells a story of when Tanner was known as Xavier Zane. He and his fellow protege, Romeo, are traveling in Arizona on a break from their training with the current Tanner.

Decent story for fans of the Tanner series.

Young Guns, book 1 Young Guns series...A Quick read with a Big storyline!!! Remmington Kane's newest series is both a continuation and spin off of his TANNER series. Each book in the YG series revolves around a current Tanner situation while he 'remembers' a specific past. Remmington Kane weaves together past and present. Uses chapters to switch back and forth. Giving the reader a masterful Tanner tale!!! A MUST READ SERIES!!! These books a quick, nonstop, reads, so to share any of it would cause spoilers. For Action Packed Entertainment— Remmington Kane Books!!!
I received this book as an ARC. I am voluntarily posting this review. This is only book 1 with more to come. Should be part of readers' must read list.

Phoenix, AZ. Professor Whittier “Whit” Washington Branson Armstrong (39) was heading for home.
2 guys were fighting in the parking lot. 1 was being stabbed to death by the other.
Whit managed to smack the assailant twice with his briefcase.

Lionel McCall could not get into the elevator in time to finish off Whit.
Megan Armstrong (13, Whittier’s daughter) had been kidnapped & was being held for a ransom.
Harper was hoping Duke (weapons supplier) had what he wanted.
Daryl McCall’s gang (street dealers) were keeping Professor Armstrong’s daughter captive for ransom.
Xavier Zane (18, aka Cody Parker, apprentice), & Romeo (Cody’s partner) picked up Gina McKenna (desk clerk, hitchhiker).
The 3 of them didn’t notice someone was following them.
3/1998, Desert View Motel. Tanner was questioning Thomas Beck (accountant) about where to find Daryl (brother, BMF, boss).
It didn’t end well for Thomas.
Glendale, AZ. Gotham Stoneware factory. Tanner (aka Killem Office Supplies & Service) talked to Jimmy in receiving.
Detective Al Garibaldi (homicide) was interrogating Professor Whittier Washington Branson Armstrong about the murder of Mitch Barnes (prosecutor).
Lionel killed Mitch Barnes.
Dre, & Gina were dead. Victor was dying.

What would happen to Lionel, & Daryl?

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written crime thriller book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great crime thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

In Phoenix, Arizona a college professor Whittier (Whit) Armstrong witnesses a murder in a parking lot and Lionel McCall wasn’t able to kill Whit before he escaped. The police are not able to arrest Daryl McCall or his drug gang on murder charges as they are untouchable. Daryl’s drug gang kidnap Whit’s 13-yr old daughter Megan Armstrong and holds her for ransom. Tanner has been called in to rescue Megan from the drug dealers for Whit’s silence. In 1998 Tanner (Spenser Hawke) was training Xavier Zane (then known as Cody Parker) and his apprentice Romeo to become assassins. Read the book to find how the two stories are connected. This short read action packed thriller kept me in suspense until the end.

Young Guns by Remington Kane

Tanner, in his current contract, remembers a time in the past, when he, named Xavier Zane and his partner, Romeo, first encounter his current contractor, Pee Wee Branson. Pee Wee 's daughter is being held by McCall's brother to keep Pee Wee from testifying against his brother which will send him to prison for murder. Tanner is successful in the rescue, sends daughter back to Pee Wee with a message that he and Pee Wee are now even! You're going to have to read for yourself how this all happens. Thanks for another great read!

Tanner

It continually amazes me how Remington Kane can cram a full length book into a novella. In this case, the book is two stories. The first is Tanner working to rescue a kidnapped girl. Interspersed with that story is a story from when Cody and Romeo were young Tanner trainees. The two stories involve kidnapping and gangs, leading to a young Tanner in the making and a grown Tanner who pays his debts. I can't wait to get into book two.

The writing started off rather stilted and my first thought was this is going to be a waste of time. But then the action picks up, the writing takes off, and the plot just hums along while you're sitting on the edge of your seat. I especially loved the ending and the way the author ties it all together. Very entertaining short story.

"Hey I can make you famous" This was just terrific from start to finish. To get a look at a young Xavier and Romeo in there young years is so icing on the cake. The story takes us for sinister ride, when the boys encounter a coup!e.of robbers. The storyline is just what you want ,and it takes you totally by surprise! Just a good first run right out the gate.

People get shot dead in this novella in the same manner villains would be disposed of in a video game. Just sayin'. Two young punks in training let themselves be led around by their little heads and pay the price.
