This was a pretty good read that I liked although it wasn't as dark as I like the book did have mystery and suspense. Charlotte Prescott lived next door to Elliot Crowe and she would tease him he was a geek and she was the pretty girl. When her house catches on fire Elliot and his friends saves her and her friends. Ten years later her life is a mess she has no job and no place to live. Elliot has done very well he is a scientist he is working on a drug that is supposed to heighten your true feelings towards the person who takes the drug. When Charlotte first sees him she doesn't recognize him he is no longer the geeky looking guy next door he is hot and he still wants her. I also liked the secondary characters in this book and I hope that Nick gets his own book in this series. This was my first time reading this author this book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

This was an interesting and unique premise for a story. It was also a super quick read that was well written. I found the story somewhat disturbing though in the actions that the now rich adult geeks engaged in to resolve their high school issues with Charlotte and her girlfriends. Elliot’s treatment of Charlotte when he first reunited with her twelve years later left a sour taste with me. I didn’t see the fun in his deception and was creeped out by the pharmaceutical involved in the story.

I received an Advance Reader Copy for UP HER (Bang Lords, Book #1) written by Dani Stowe and voluntarily reviewed this book. If you have ever wished for a magic or secret love potion, this story is made just to realize that fantasy!

High school is always the melting pot of experiences growing up…rarely does one go unscathed. When you have a squad of geeks who call themselves NIM, you know they are going to catch some heat from the popular people. Once you grow up, however, the stage goes to the students who become successful, and those who were once popular could suddenly find themselves lacking. Such was the case for Charlotte, who had lost her home to a fire during her senior year as well as nearly her life. If it wasn’t for her neighbor Elliot and his NIM friends’ timely rescue, she wouldn’t be applying for a job at the Neuro Institue of Medicine, which the NIMs now run. All in the name of research and human guinea pigs as well as being thrilled to have a second chance at winning Charlotte, now that he is so changed, Elliot devises a way to test out his latest invention (BANG) on Charlotte, unbeknownst to her that “Mr. Nine” is actually her geeky neighbor now all grown-up sexy. Sparks will definitely fly because there is chemistry, but what will happen when Charlotte finds out Mr. Nine’s secrets?

Let me start by saying this is a new author to me and all I can say after reading this book is WOW! Loved it.

Elliot lived next door to Charlotte for most of their childhood years. When high school started Charlotte blossomed into a very pretty girl and Elliot stayed the same skinny nerdy boy he was. Charlotte used to tease Elliot by dancing in front of her window with hardly any clothes on knowing he was watching her. After graduation Charlotte's parents went out of town and Charlotte invited some friends over to party at her house. A house fire started due to their reckless behavior. By the time they realized something was wrong they were all trapped upstairs in Charlotte's room with no way out because her dad had installed safety bars on her window when she was little so she wouldn't fall out. Enter Elliot and his friends. They were able to climb across a ladder from his attic to hers and break through the ceiling and rescue the girls. Elliot asked for a kiss for saving her life. Charlotte allowed him to kiss her but she didn't really kiss him back. Ten years later Charlotte's life is basically in shambles. She has no job, nowhere to live and no boyfriend to speak of. Elliot on the other hand has done quite well for himself with the help of his three friends. Charlotte is offered a job at Elliot's company and is excited to see Elliot again. Even though back in high school she was cruel to him she really had a crush on him, but she felt like he was too good for her. When she runs into Elliot again she doesn't even recognize him because he has changed a lot since she last saw him. Elliot has been working on a drug that is supposed to heighten your true feelings towards the person who takes the drug. Elliot still wants Charlotte, but will he be able to have her or will he just play with her the same way she used to play with him? This book is awesome and I can't wait to read more of this series. Each book will focus on a different couple and can be read as a standalone. I am super excited to read the rest of this series to find out if Nick, one of the secondary characters in this book, gets what he deserves for treating Loulah so horribly. I definitely recommend this book and the rest of the series. This first book should be out around April of 2018.

Charlotte knew Elliott since high school where he and his friends save her and her friends lives. In high school Elliot was part of the geek squad and I became one of the cool kids. Charlotte remembers the one kiss that she had with Elliott. She hadn’t seen Elliott in a long time but now she is going to be working for his company. In the cafe across the street from NIMbshe was waiting in line when a man came through the door and he went directly in front of the line. I was the next one in line when they gave him his order first he saw I was annoyed and told him that he would make me late for my first day on the job. He then asked her where she work and she told him it just so happen he also worked there. He takes her across the street to the Nim Offices he asked her how she got hired. While they were leaving the elevator he grabbed her hand which she pulled away. Charlotte did not know it was Elliott he changed so much but she knows him as Mr.Nine. In the elevator Elliott wanted to see if she had liked him or not. He invented this pill called “Bang” he noticed when he took the pill Charlotte started to fell hot and sexual so he realized that she had liked him before he took his pill. His friend Nick tells him he has to tell Charlotte who he was. Nick took the pill when he was in his office to see what reaction Tracy would have on him. What a big surprise when she attacks him and punches him in the face and tries to choke him. He took her into the “the bank” that is tucked inside one of the rooms at NIM. Elliott takes the initiative and tells her he has a proposal for her so he takes her to dinner. He tells her that he likes this girl and he wanted to do a makeover and asks Charlotte to shave him. Charlotte thought that was pretty strange but agreed while she was shaving him he was starting to look familiar then he took out his contacts and put on his glasses and she realized it was Elliott. He tells her about the pill he had been working on regarding pheromones and it was he and Nick that were their human subjects. Charlotte told him how she felt about him and why she was aloof to him at school. She told him that she wasn’t good enough for him because he was so smart. She also asked him why they call him Mr Nine but she later found out...

Up Her is a hot tale of redemption and growth.

Charlotte was the popular hot girl that Elliot, her next door neighbor, lusted after. But, he was the geeky nerd who loved bugs and she was the pretty mean girl, so of course he stood no chance with her. Until he did get his chance one night when he and his squad of geeks saved her and her other mean girl friends from her burning house. All Elliot wanted as thanks was a kiss from Charlotte, but did she give him one? No, not really. He got to kiss her but she didn't really respond. And she never said thanks.

Now, 10 years later she's back in town with her tail between her legs. Her life is a mess, she has no job, no boyfriend, no nothing, until one of her old friends offers her a job at Elliot and his squad's hot pharma company, where she works too. Elliot has spent the past 10 years becoming wildly successful and dreaming of getting even with the one girl he never got out of his mind, the one girl who never said thanks for him saving her life. But, that's not all he and the other 9s have been doing. No, he's been working on a drug that will intensify the feelings one has toward someone, will scent out their pheromones and either give into the love they feel, or will hate the other all the more. Guess what pill Elliot wants to give Charlotte when she comes to work for his company? And when she doesn't even recognize him, will that increase his desire for a little payback, or just make him want her more?

Up Her is hot, but it's not some piece of fluff. I like how Charlotte redeems herself, and how Elliot is even more of a standup guy now than he was when they were just teens living across from each other. I like how even though Charlotte was the popular mean girl, she is the one with all the insecurities and thought Elliot was too good for her, and I like how she comes into her own here. Now I can't wait for more from the 9s and their friends (enemies).

Loved it

Mean girls vs Geeks. A different kind of second chance romance, a little on the dark side.
Charlotte was home coming queen and one of the most popular girls in high school. Elliot was her geeky childhood friend and neighbor. Until high school, then teased him at home and ignored him at school.
12 years later later, Charlotte is living with her parents, jobless, between boyfriends, though still a beautiful woman. When a high school friend reached out with a job offer, she can't say no.
Elliot and his fellow geeks from high school, are now millionaires. Owners of a pharmaceutical company. Elliot still crushes on Charlotte. Nick, his sociopathic boss and friend, decided to do something about it, well and test their new drug, BANG, which enhances hormonal responses.
When Elliot sees Charlotte, she doesn't recognize him, and only knows him by his nickname. When he tries the drug on her she can't keep her hands off him, but will she feel the same when she learns the truth.
Fast paced and steamy, short story. Can't wait for the next book.

I really enjoyed this quick and steamy read about Charlotte and Elliot. When they were in high school, Charlotte's house caught on fire during a party and Elliot lived next door. Elliot and his friends managed to rescue Charlotte and her friends by using a latter across the houses. Elliot always had a crush on Charlotte, but she thought he was a geek and she was too popular to be with him. Years later, Elliot and his friends are rich and work in a research company they own. Charlotte has been down on her luck and has moved in with her parents. When one of Charlotte's friends call and offer her a job with Elliot's company, she agrees and can't wait to see him again. The first day Charlotte was there, she meets a handsome man in the elevator and she can't fight her attraction to him. Elliot knows Charlotte didn't know him in the elevator and he too the Bang, a pill they created which enhances pheromones allowing someone's real feeling to show for them. Elliot knows Charlotte cares for him and he wants to be sure it is him and not the person she thinks he is. I love the idea of having a pill to find out true feelings. I think the guys are geniuses and I want them all to get the women they love. Good one.

I read enjoyed this book and as an introduction to this auther I was really surprised. I will definitely read more by Dani Stowe. Elliott lived next door to Charlotte for most their childhood. She is growing into a really beautiful girl but he seems to be staying skinny and nerdy. Due to her stupid behavior she is stuck in the house when a fire breaks out. Elliott comes out the rescue from his house and asks her for a kiss for the rescue. Years later she life has not turned out great and he is doing really well for himself. She gets a job at his company and is really excited to see him as she felt he was really nice to her back then and she was rather cruel to him. She sees him for the first time in years and does not recognize him as he has changed so much. He still wants her but how will things work out for this couple. Very interesting read.

This book has it all. It's a thrilling story and the characters are incredible. I particularly liked "Elliott" who goes from high school geek (think sand in the face) to sex-on-wheels co-founder and billionaire with the most ("9" to be exact). Actually, I liked all the characters, even Nick who as the resident bad boy with enough street smarts to balance out the geeks. Each character has their own decisions to be made in this story. Temptation has a big hand here but it's a double-edged sword. Sometimes, what you want most should stay out of reach.

The writing is fantastic. I can't say enough good things about the engaging characters and exciting story. The characters are flawed making them perfect in my book. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

This was a fun, sexy read. For some reason - I guess the name - made me think it was going to be a straight up erotica, but actually there was more story than sex, though the sex was part of the story as the MC makes a product called 'Bang' a pill that makes the object of your desire show their true feelings through the use of pheromones - it can be love or hate though, so not to be taken lightly! The characters took a while to get their act together and I thought the 'after' for them could have been further developed, but I suppose what happens with the company will come up in future books. The 'bonus chapter' was by far the hottest chapter of the book and probably my favourite as it showed their development as a couple too. I really enjoyed this read and look forward to more.

If you haven’t read erotica before, this is a good book to start with. The sex scenes aren’t too graphic or over the top and there is nothing in this book to put you off reading more. The author concentrates on developing characters and storyline instead of focusing on the sex, which is a good thing. Too many books in this genre are just about the sex with next to no storyline. This is an easy and enjoyable book to read.

Personally, I would have liked it to be a bit longer, but it is aimed at an audience who likes shorter reads and in that respect it hits the mark well.

A thoroughly entertaining book with intriguing characters. I laughed, I sighed, I cringed and I smiled. Such a great book and I'm ecstatic that I've found an author who I can relate to and she's now on my got-to-read list. Loved these characters. I can't wait to read about Loulah. Nick has got his coming...I'm just not sure how I would like her to react. It would serve him right to if she reacts like Charlotte. Hmmmm. Maybe she could flip the control on the alpha male who likes control by having her take B and not him.

What she doesn't realize is that Elliot is not scrawny anymore 10 years later.

I think I might becoming addicted to Dani Stowe’s books- they are kind of like potato chips you can’t just read one! Although a shorter read this is a full standalone story, smolderingly hot and super sexy read. Only problem is as soon as you pick it up you can’t put it down until your finished. I loved both the characters of Charlotte and Elliot and will be preordering the next ones in the series because I need my next fix of the NIM men!

We have the geek next door turned hot rich alpha stud and the popular prom queen turned can't keep a job and living with her parents. What will happen when she accepts a job at the company he owns? What a fun ride (pun intended)!

Dani Stowes’ Up Her: A Second Chance Pulp Fiction Romance (Bang Lords Book 1) was a good read with hot sex and some wicked behaviour by the geek next door who grows into a hot, successful, naughty…uh…geek.

I love the first-person, present tense point of view. It’s not that easy to pull off and the author does good job of it. Her dialogue is well-written, her characters are quirky and the book is an easy read. Hot and fun!

Intense, sexy, alluring

Intense, sexy and alluring story line, one I haven't had an opportunity to read before. I loved how the characters were presented and how complex they were. I enjoyed the pace of the story, the twisted tale and the suspense. Looks like the revenge is powerful tool that gets the wheels turning. The hotness of the one on one scenes were off the charts. Just Bang without inhibition.

Kinky Cute

These nerds know what they want and they know how to get it too. Elliott wanted Charlotte since he was a geeky little kid. They’ve been best friends for a lifetime. So as adults he has done really well for himself. Living for her love and passion is all he wants so he develops this little pill which if swallowed will make the object of your affections come on to you or hate you intensely. Well she has some hidden desires for Elliot, for sure.

Cute story

Okay this was a little bit “love potion number nine” meets the story “limitless”. Special drug that increases hormones of a person you are attracted too created by a bunch of brainiacs. The guy next store wants to get the cheerleader girl from his high school years. Only thing is cheerleader girl already liked boy just didn’t think she was good enough.

Cute quick read. Great if taking a trip and needing a distraction from the travels.

I loved this different dark themed book! Charlotte wasn't the nicest person in high school, and it's time to pay the piper!
