Student text for teaching the history of California. Junipero Serra was a priest from Spain who came to Mexico to Christianize the Native American peoples in New Spain. He spent time in Mexico City before moving to California to start the Mission system. Catholic missions ran from Baja California right up through to San Francisco. Interesting history I wasn't necessarily aware of. Good to know, great for students about 3-5 grade.
