Nina Ogilvie learnt early in life that only the strong succeed.
For years, she has been just that. A successful fund manager in London, Nina’s business-savvy keeps her ahead of everybody else. But her latest deal has caused a great scandal. In its wake, false rumours about her are spreading. With her reputation on the line, her boss sends Nina off to Post-Apartheid South Africa; there she meets the elusive and alluring Wolf Moller.
Though Nina has always convinced herself to be ‘married’ to the job, Wolf intrigues her. Before she knows it, she falls head over heels in love with him. They soon marry and have a beautiful child, a little boy named Nicky. Her life becomes a fairy-tale. Only to be shattered by Wolf himself. After allegations of fraud and debt, Wolf disappears without a word, kidnapping their son. But why? Determined to find her son, Nina is plunged into a world of deception and lies…
MADGE SWINDELLS was born and educated in England. As a teenager, she emigrated with her parents to South Africa where she studied archaeology and anthropology at Cape Town University. Nina meets Wolf whilst holidaying in South Africa. He woos her and arranges a surprise wedding when she finds out she's pregnant but she knows nothing of his background or of his work. When her son is almost 2 her husband kidnaps him and she soon finds out he's scammed friends and neighbors out of money. She's determined to find her son so enlists the help of her father who used to work for Intelligence and still has contacts. She encounters people who believe she was in on the scams and try to hurt her but she has allies as well. She trusts noone and is focused only on her goal to get her son back. Great novel and hard to put down. Will be reading more of Madge Swindell
A great story, although it seems to have been over edited shortening the page count. This made the story so.what stilted at critical areas.
Still, the plot is very good as the mother, Nina, goes on an international search for her missing son. Her motivations and determination are real as she becomes embroiled in dangerous dealings with money laundering for underworld mafia types.
I can honestly say this is a thrilling and suspense - filled drama that kept my rapt attention. I just wish there has been more to the ending.
I absolutely loved this book..Nina ogilvie grows up between split parents but becomes a superstar in the financial world. She is sent to South Africa where she meets and falls in love with wolf Moller. Be prepared for twists and turns as nina tries to locate her lost son and has to deal with some of the most dangerous people in Europe and Russia. Great story.
But it needs an epilogue. There are a lot of typos in this kindle edition. The book has merit but needs a bit more work. The author has much talent and should have refined the ending and made sure the typos were corrected.
A beautifully written cross the world espionage full packed heartfelt and thorough book! The author didn't miss a sequence in the details, character development, storyline and plot. A exciting and informative read from beginning to conclusion.
