Simple writings, yet very relatable. I enjoyed how the author addressed both mental health struggles as well as racial injustices

It’s National Poetry Month so I’m trying to read as much poetry as I can and I enjoyed this collection! I can totally relate to the poems about love, breakups, acceptance, and hope. I couldn’t relate as closely to the poems about depression, therapy, and race but they were honest and I appreciate the author sharing them with the world so others don’t feel so alone.
I think fans of poets like Lang Leav, Jennae Cecelia, Amanda Lovelace, and Rupi Kaur will enjoy “Becoming.”

Thank you Netgally and the publisher for the chance to read this ebook for free.

This was really good! It could have benefited from some chapter and/or section breaks because the flow didn't quite work all the time. But I loved some of the poems and the theme that pulled them all together. I did think there were a lot of repetitiveness and the choices of words weren't always what I would have liked or gone with, but I definitely recommend this!

Some poems were repetitive and flat.

I loved it. Her pain grows into strength and love and I felt so much inspiration from her. She was totally real.
